Home quickly. When Mary and her two left Mandy was ready too. Not there long enough to get much done. LOL I didn't mind heading home early, it's too cold to stand outside too long.
My electric blanket is out for delivery. So I'll keep an eye on Amazon to see when it is delivered. I hope I catch it before Chris locks the orders in the office. I saw him yesterday and asked that he either bring mine to me or not lock it up because I really really want it sooner than Tuesday. He has a short memory so I need to stay on top of the delivery notice. Although his wife heard me so maybe she will remind Chris.
I have a good recipe for deep friend shrimp, so I'm thinking of making that for supper tonight. Early supper too so I can have windows open for a bit to get rid of the smell. Or fry the shrimp on the porch. 
Church on line today again. Lots of snowbirds have filled the little church and I don't do crowds. I'm happy that the church fills and I have the option of staying home then too. I'll have my MN church at 9 and then Yuma church at 10:30. Maybe a little shopping/snooping this afternoon just to get out of the house. I don't really need anything but my sanity.

Today that I could sleep late with no delivery of Meals On Wheels I was awake at 9 Took Tinker over to see Delores. Didn't see her for two weeks with me being sick. Swiffing floors today & getting my snack food ready for tonight. I'm usually up till midnight on NYE.
Mamma Thank you for the coffee & goodies.

New Year to all of you, I hope your blanket gets to you soon Mamma. For Christmas I got a heated blanket and a heated mattress protector. Also, got a Shark robo vacuum. I came home with my grandson yesterday evening. He lives in South Carolina. We had a good trip. Stopped at Cracker! Barrel in the gorge of the Smoky Mountains. The food was very good and that particular store has always been good. It took me all day yesterday to get ready to leave. Literally. Wanted to leave the house in order. I may stay a while. He has a large screen tv and I like watching it 😏 So much detail I can see. And I like the old shows like city confidential and snapped, My 2 oldest daughters and my grandkids and my greats live over here. So I have a lot of visiting to do  Plus my sister in law lives in a assisted living here. It is low 30's but the sun is shining. Hope all of you are well. Be back later. |

Carolyn you really got some nice gifts for Christmas. Enjoy your family visit. I too like to leave my home tidy when I leave. I don't even like dirty dishes in the sink over night. Messes and me, just don't fit well.

Good Morning Ladies - - - I'm missing that nice sunshine we had yesterday - It's 28 and cloudy and I'm sure it feels every bit of the 28 as I am chilly here by the window. I had my sunglasses on yesterday and even then if was bright. Of course, didn't need them on the way home. I started to get up to leave a little after 4 and it was 5 by the time I left, and dark of course. I didn't get up until 10. I had the alarm set to go to church, but I knew they were talking about some freezing drizzle to make it slippery in the northern county's, and we are in the very top tier of them. When I heard my neighbor shoveling the walk, I deceided I would stay home, and if I stay home, I may as well sleep in. There was barely enough snow to cover the grass - still some green peeking through. Yes, Mamma, it is nice to have choices as to how we attend.
Thanks Mamma, cinnamon rolls are always a treat! Hope you catch you package before it gets locked up. Enjoy your shrimp and frying them on the porch is a good idea.
IC, good that you are feeling better and could sleep in today.
Carolyn, wow, you are going to be busy visiting while you are in SC. It's wonderful that you will be able to spend time with them as long as you don't often get to do that. Enjoy the big TV as well. When you get home again, it sounds like you will have some nice gifts waiting for you.
Wishing all of my dear friends here a very Happy New Year! I have no plans, and that is just fine with me, as it's not a night I really care to be out and about and haven't been for years now. Sometimes my porch friend and I would share a meal here, but haven't even done that for a few years - - Either so cold or just content to be home. I will think of you all and wish you good health and happiness in the coming year.

Jane, it's always better to be safe than sorry. And I am happy to hear you got home safely last night. You are surely blessed with great neighbors. We hadn't gone out on NYE in years. And usually sound asleep way before midnight. Jill has to work so she and Ember will be gone and I will check on Pookie when I take Mandy out for her evening duty run. Such an exciting evening, how will I survive all the excitement. LOL

I've had a phone call from my porch friend and she is going to bring pizza or sandwiches down around 5 and has a bottle of wine she bought on one of her trips. I know she will go home around 9 so, not really celebrating, but sharing company and that is just fine with me. I don't have to cook!

HAPPY NEW YEAR GRANNIE FRIENDS!!!
My DS came to my church today as her church wasn't meeting. I don't know why. Anyway, after church we went to BK for lunch. Not my favorite but the company and conversation was great. It's a damp, dark, drizzly day her and only in the upper 30's. They are saying maybe a few flurries later on.
I have a friend coming later, we'll order pizza, watch the football game and eat some snacks. I don't plan on being up to watch the NY to come in. It really doesn't interest me. LOL
Just saying "hi" to each one.

Jane, you freaked me out with the purple. I thought we had a new person at first. You print is always green. LOL How wonderful to have pizza and wine with a friend. Great way to spend the evening.
Elle, you have a friend and pizza tonight too, how great. My Yuma church had me thinking I slept for half a year, they sang Easter songs!!!! What was up with that?? Then the associate pastor had the message and half of it was on the trials of her granddaughters transplants two years ago. My MN church had audio problems so nothing could be understood. Not much church for me today.  How nice to have church with your DS and then lunch after too. Lucky you.
Lunch is done and the dishes are going in the dishwasher. I'm cold and tired and don't feel like washing them. Maybe later. hehehe
Now I'm going to see how far the cords on the battery charger can reach. It's such a pill to have to rotate the car and the cart in the morning. Mornings are too cold to walk and I don't like taking the car that short distance. Wish me luck!!

Happy New Year's Eve.....
Another dreary, rainy, yucky day. Only good thing is we can still see the grass..and it's still green. No snow!
I went along with DH to take lunch to his mom and had a nice visit. She was really sharp with memories and such today. So that was a good thing. We then stopped for a late lunch since we'll be going to our friends tonight for dinner which will be around 8 or after. Hopefully we'll last till then...LOL DH is always hungry.
Last night I saw a deer at my bird feeder. It only had an antler on one side. I turned the patio light on and it looked at me then moseyed on to the next yard.
I always stay up to midnight. DH goes to bed before. DH says it will still be the new year whether he sees it or not. LOL
I've started putting some Christmas decor away. Maybe it will go quicker tomorrow when I put the tree away.
Have a nice evening what ever you do......

Another dark and dismal day here. Temp is 38 but it feels so cold.I've been sitting here with my blankie to stay warm. I'm thinking Spring already!
Mamma hope your warm blanket gets there soon! The heated throw works well for me. I just want my bed nice and warm when I get in it. Then I turn it off .
Carolyn Happy New Year and have a good visit with family.
IC no late hours for me anymore! I remember the times we danced the night away but now I can hardly walk. I do have those memories.
Greenback enjoy the time with your friend. Sounds like a nice way to spend an evening.
Elle the pastor commented on some churches that didn't have church this morning. Wonder why they were closed today. Friend,food and football sounds like you will have a nice evening,
CJ dinner with friends is good ending for the year!
We will have our meal at the usual time.That means we will prob all be in bed at the usual time.I'm looking forward to the surf and turf that will be for our dinner along with some other goodies.

I've been busy all day. Have my dip, deviled eggs & shrimp cooked for tonight Just have some dishes to do I'll put my pork roast in my crock pot when I go to bed for tomorrow. Mashed potatoes & sauergraut too. Swiffed all the floors except the bathroom. Cleaned the tub real good.

Hi all. Can’t adjust the size as I’m on my home. I’ll need to see if I can find a different charger cord as the one for my computer has a kink in it. We got less than 1/2” of snow yesterday but I drove slowly anyway. Picked up some yarn for a baby afghan and made a few other stops. Heading to the neighbors later-he’s 70 today.
