Good Morning....
I think today will be a bright sunny day. Still on the colder side but tomorrow starts the warm up.
My haircut went well and I like what she did. Got the calendars made and will go to get a couple gift cards today. Then I should be about done with any shopping and can finish up the cookie baking. Then I'll wrap the things that need wrapping. Maybe the stress level will start to come down now. I've also purchased the ham and made out my menu. My hairdresser was in agreement with me that we can't wait for December to be over with.
Not much happening yet...so I'll wish everyone a great day......... Coffee is ready.

Good morning grannies, I see some sunshine this morning and should see some all day! My solar batteries will get recharged! I must run on solar power. A day without sunshine is worse than morning without coffee... and no morning coffee is not a good thing.
CJ stop and smell the roses or maybe pause and look at the shinning Christmas tree. Enjoy those dgc while they still believe in the magic of Santa. Everything important will be done on time. Don't wish the time away they grow up too soon. So glad it was a good haircut day for you. I'm still growing more hair!
Nothing much going on here other than my sewing student will be here this afternoon since they will be leaving tomorrow. I hope we can finish the apron this afternoon then I will find an embroidery thing on the sewing machine that she might be able to do. Something easy to put mom on one and dad on the other. She can do her's later
Wonderful Wed Waffle was delivered and quickly disposed of along with some sausage.Yumm

Oh my goodness, 42ยบ is not what I wanted to wake up to. Yep, I'm going to order some Cuddle Duds. My legs got so cold and yes, I wear long pants. Or maybe I should let my hair grow longer. LOL Even Mandy was quick this morning, PTL.
A WM grocery order coming this morning and a trip to the bank that I keep forgetting to do. That is all that I have on the to do list. But I just remembered, I need to keep on with the reorganization of my desk drawers. They are worse than a junk drawer, but without the junk.
I never felt stressed at Christmas, I just think it is over commercialized. Christ has been taken out of the equation for sales. All the baking, cooking and shopping, for me is/was fun. After Thanksgiving I started with my Christmas to do list. And I was always done a week before, and I worked too. But then I love to bake. For just me I don't really cook much anymore but when Mark and Lincoln were around I was in my glory in the kitchen. My mom was the same way. We/I did our best to make each holiday memorable. And getting feedback and hearing the memories from my family made it all worthwhile. I can still see taste and smell all the things mom did for the holidays. She worked fulltime and early years she worked several jobs. I really miss all the hustle and bustle of the holidays. But the memories will linger on and on.
I'm thinking of sending back the heated mattress pad. Laying on it it gets too hot for me, the night sweat queen. A regular heated blanket may work better for me. I'll give it a couple more days, just because I don't want to strip the bed again so soon. LOL
Oh dear my coffee cup is empty.

Mamma....I don't like a hot bed. I like the coolness of the sheets for my feet. LOL
I'm only stressed when I have to think of all I need to do in a short amount of time and then having absolutely no idea what to get for anyone is the biggest problem. There once was a time when I knew exactly what I would get each person (and it was fun)...but not anymore. Everyone has everything they want and buy it when they want it. Once I have the shopping done, I feel relief. The cookie baking is fun and not something I have to do. The Christmas meal is easy so that's not a problem either. I got the peppermint ice cream and hot fudge for Christmas dessert. That sure sounded good to me. Thanks to whoever mentioned that.

Mamma I had a blanket then a pad now I just use the heated throw. I turn it on med. about an hour before bedtime the the bed is nice and warm. I usually turn it off before sleeping and most nights I toss it aside when I get warm. I Just like the nice warm bed to crawl into.

The arthritis in my feet don't like the cold or cool like I do. When my legs and feet are cold they HURT. I too like the coolness of the sheets, but my feet do not. I wish I could find a blanket that only heats on the bottom. LOL I even wear winter boots when outside in the morning and evening because the cold causes pain in my feet. Just like my mom I have art on the tops of my feet. It takes a long time for my feet to warm up again too. Most of the time I wear compression gloves on for my hands for the arthritis too.
We gave up on gifts when Lincoln moved out on his own. It was mostly little things that caught our eye at Christmas. When we stopped going up to my moms, we all stopped gift giving as well. You are right CJ, most of us get what we want throughout the year. Patrick was so easy to buy for, he would've been happy for a tree twig. He was always so full of gratefulness. He had a really tough childhood. No gifts are exchanged at all with anyone anymore. Although throughout the year Lincoln will put things in a box that catches his eye or he knows I would like, make me smile, or laugh. Then he sends it to me/us at Christmas. And sometimes he can't wait that long and I get a surprise package. This last time was ornaments that I had given him from our tree years ago. He knew how much I missed all my special ornaments. He has done this since we left MN. He has a kind heart just like his dad.

Mamma you could position a throw or something smaller to just warm your feet and legs.

It's a nice sunny but cold day here too. I have a heart test early afternoon so I'm missing my coffee day. Yesterday was game day and they reminded me this is the 3rd week in a row I've missed coffee time with them. I hope to get back to the normal routine next week. I love Christmas but agree 100% it's way too commercialized. We think more about gifts, food than we do about the Real Reason for the season. I'm just as guilty as anyone else. I also like spending time in the kitchen but with only one, it's made some changes. Life should change, I don't want to go back, that was/is hard, I'm looking forward!!! At least trying. LOL
CJ How was your DH's adventure yesterday? Penny and Teddy will love Christmas and next year will be even better. I miss little ones excitement at Christmas.
GRAMMY Yay!!! your batteries are being charged. I agree that the sunshine does make us feel better. Just like the SON always shines in the Granny Neighborhood. I hope the little one gets the aprons finished.
MAMMA I love my Cuddle Duds and they're just part of my everyday attire! I have some that are lighter in weight and some that are like a fleece. So cozy and warm.
I have 1 minute to say good morning to everyone. That's according to my clock.

Good Morning Ladies - - Still morning in my corner of the hood. we are to start warming up. It is 36 now, and I thought it was 19 when I sat down here, but I can't believe it would go up that fast, that quick. Maybe I looked wrong. Not much planned for today - I will just see how it turns out. I still have a small piece of turkey for supper and that will be gone too. CJ, I know you will have everything done and have time to enjoy things. I know how you will enjoy the kids this year and I'm sure the mom's will be delighted to see them as well. Mamma, why don't you try turning on the MP before you go to bed for awhile and then when you get in, turn it off and see if that makes a difference for you - since you don't want to take it off right away, you don't have anything to loose. Grammy, hope the sewing goes well today and you are able to finish the aprons. Sunshine always makes for a better day! IC sorry you had such a time getting to sleep last night - - I can fully understand your frustration. Ellie, I hope your appointment will go well and it will be all good news for you. Doesn't it make you feel good when the gals tell you how much you are missed? I hope everyone has a good day.

Grammy, thanks, but I've tried that and the blanket always ends up on the floor. I have to roll over every two hours because my arms can't stay in one position any longer than that.
Elle, so sorry you have to miss coffee time again. I pray the test turns out good.
Jane, I do turn it on when I go to bed, but I can't leave it on or I feel like I'm frying. If I turn it off I wake up with cold feet. Turning it off and on just makes more movements in my night. I have enough of that with my stupid arms. LOL
I forgot to make my cereal crunch/chex mix. So that is now in the oven. Last night I was craving something savory and it dawned on me what I had forgotten to make. Normally I make it for Thanksgiving while we decorate the tree. But as Ell said, some changes happen, like it or not. So my usual is all turned upside down. I hope to find a normal soon. This has been a really really tough month, with Marks birthday and then his passing just days after Christmas.

Mamma, I wanted to make some chex mix too - but when I ordered pretzels twists they were out of stock and I replaced with the sticks, also out of stock, so I need to wait until I get some of those. I did just get rice chex, as I like those and really don't care for the wheat ones, and I didn't want to get all of that cereal, since you know, I don't eat cereal.

Jane, I don't eat Chex cereal so I freeze what I don't use. Then use it next year. The pretzel sticks I use as WM brand Ultra thin sticks. I don't care for thick pretzels or a big pretzel in one bite. I freeze a lot things that people wouldn't think of and all have worked out very well for me.
It's now time for lunch.....scrambled eggs and as Elle would say, butter with toast. hehehe

GREENBACK The mornings go fast for me! But that's ok, I guess I kind of like it that way. The turkey actually sounds good. Will that be your meat for Christmas? It's going to be ours.
MAMMA I haven't made party mix (that's what we call it.LOL) for a while. But I bought a bag of it and added my own thing to it. It's not as good as the home made. I never thought of freezing cereal so I just might do that. And I bet I could maybe freeze party mix too? What's your opinion? ABSOLUTEY, butter with some toast. LOL
The test is over but I don't know any results. Who knows when that might be?

Elle,
because Mark was so sick last year I had a lot of Chex mix left over. And I just stuck it in the freezer and that's what I have been eating until I just made fresh now cuz I ran out of the Frozen. It does freeze very well the nuts the cereal everything. I just had it in an airtight container is all.
