Elle, My mom always used the powders not the salts when she made the mix. It's still good and it still freezes well.

Good evening to all; I thought this would be my only day at home this week, but, nope, off to Marshfield, MO, (a little over 2 hours away) we went to take a death certificate to DMIL's investment advisor and talk with him about distribution to all four kids. Lots of paperwork on every step and every entity, it seems. Then, on the way there and the way back, while Mike drove, I was making phone on which he could chime and listen in on cancelling things for DMIL and seeing what insurance and other companies needed in the way of documentation. We left at 9:15 and got home at 4:30; just in time for Mike to drop me off and go into his Mom's house to meet his brother to go through some things with him. We did have a nice lunch at a catfish place in Lebanon and, while it tasted delicious while we ate (not until 1:30), we have both had upset tummies ever since. I know Mike is under a lot of stress and we also waited too long to eat, so it could have been that contributed to the stomach upset.
I have unloaded the dishwasher, folded a load of towels I had transferred to the dryer before we left, chopped chicken and veggies and put together an Aloha Chicken & Rice dish (new recipe) and just put it in the oven and did the dishes from the last couple of mornings that were in the sink. Early mornings and late nights seem to be the only time we are home these days.
You will be happy to know that I made it through last night's ballgames (both JV and Varsity) without getting thrown out and "Snowflake" as Mike termed the young ref who had his feathers so ruffled, was a player on the varsity team and, wouldn't you know it, he argued with the refs, LOL. Our team ended up winning and it was a good game and was glad my picture wasn't posted as not being allowed to attend--LOL.
CJ, I have been forgetting to comment on the wonderful pictures of your oh-so-cute grandkids on the Snowman rug at your house. Also, I can commiserate with you on the cost of mailing boxes for Christmas. I had to put my things for my pen pal in France in two boxes this year and it cost over $200 for me to mail them! Yikes! But, I only do it once a year.
Elle, praying for good results from your heart test!
By the way, I freeze popcorn and my homemade granola. They both freeze beautifully. My granola recipe makes a big batch and I always put half of it in the freezer. It was the kettle corn vendor at the State Fair many years ago that told me to freeze the popcorn. I was trying to decide which size bag to get and they told me to get the big one and keep it in the freezer. It keeps it cool, crisp and I can just scoop out a cup or so at a time anytime I want to snack on it. They, and now I, actually prefer it fresh from the freezer!
Time just went off on the Aloha Chicken so I need to uncover it and let it cook some more. Good night, all. Sleep tight and God bless.
