Good Morning....
It's cloudy and cool this morning. I don't think the sun will come out today.
DH is doing some painting of the hall closet doors...and now he's decided to paint the bottom shelf...so everything is out of that shelf and on the kitchen table. I hope it dries fast because I don't like things in disarray.
I think my mom had a reaction to the covid/flu shot she got last week. She got both of them together and the next day she was so sick. She says she is feeling better now. She thought she might have covid and didn't want us coming over but I think we'll go today and see how she's doing and see if she needs anything from the grocery store.
Thanks Linda for the update last night. I hope she is feeling better each day.
Nothing more to report other than I think I heard an owl last night. I've been listening to owl sounds on my phone and I think I might know which one it is...an eastern screech owl, but not sure.
Have a great day everyone.....

Not too bad this morning, a touch muggy, and 70º. A quick trip to the pet area and home to finish my coffee.
Yesterday morning Lynda sent me a text asking if I wanted to go to Hobby Lobby. Of course I said yes, I love spending time with her and Hobby Lobby too. She needed to pick up one thing and so did I. Well that doesn’t happen when you have two people that like to do crafts and decorate. We both spent around $50. I got a few embellishments for cards and some fall decorations and a couple fall coffee cups. Lynda suggested I do more to decorate the way I did before the fire to make this place feel like home. Not sure it will ever work, but I do like to have holiday things around me. All I had before today were two items for fall. Our first year here was rough, and the next year was very difficult to say the least. And this year is really not much better. Holidays are really hard. When I dropped Lynda off she said to come in for an iced tea and see what she has done. She has soooooo much stuff around, always, and now it’s all fall. Her park model is the same floor plan as the one we lost. At first it was hard to be there, but now I like going there to remember. Plus its so much fun being around Lynda.
When we got home I put out my meager fall decorations and moved the fireplace back under the tv in front of the cabinet and put Mandy's bed under the accent table. I couldn't see the fireplace when it was under that table. The fall decorations felt nice, much better than just two items. Once the $tree opens again I hope to find some more simple decorations. I used to decorate heavily for ALL the holidays. Even though I have little space here I'll figure out a way to brighten the holidays with a more decorated house.
Like Grammy, I had a BLT for supper and it really hit the spot. I had just enough tomato left for one sandwich. And the store tomato was a good one this time. Lynda and I were so busy shopping and chatting that we never stopped to eat. But I really wasn't hungry anyway. I had a protein shake while I was unpacking and putting out the fall stuff.
Church today and make some cards. I only had one get well card so I need to get more of those made. Hot days for the next two weeks.

Good morning, I am up and got my shower. Did I say I am going home with my DD? She doesn't want to leave me here. She lives in upstate South Carolina, about 4 hours. Don't know how long we will stay as she is coming back with me for a while. She has done a lot of work around the house. Cooking, laundry and all that. Today is my son's birthday. He is 49. And, his son will be 21 on the 25th. Wed. He is my youngest grandchild. I didn't have to worry about the injection as I have a scrape on my arm. Hope you all have a good day. Will try to write tomorrow. 🚗🚗

Church and Sunday school this a.m. Then home for lunch that was mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, meatloaf and one of my homemade sugar cookies. That should hold me until supper. Now it's naptime and football. It was to be Prime timers tonight but there was a scheduling conflict so P-timers won't be until next month.
CJ How was you MIL when you visited her? Your poor mother. That must be terrible and I hope she's feeling better today. I hear owls a lot here but I don't have a clue what ones they are.
MAMMA I'm glad you had a good time with Lynda. And it sounds like you're getting some good ideas and thoughts to make things more comfortable for you.
CAROLYN Your family is taking very good care of you! Just let them help you. Remember you took care of them for many years.
ICOOK You really must have been tired. I'm glad you could rest well.
My eyes are getting heavy.......

Good afternoon. This has been the first message from the new pastor that I actually listened to. So that was good, but he is so hard to understand, his Mexican accent is so very strong.
After church Lynda and I went to BK for lunch and then to Fry's to pick up a head of lettuce and a half gallon of milk. They had butter on sale too but I only got two pounds.
Tomorrow The $Tree opens in it's new location. So after getting gas in the car and stopping at the bank I'm going to the $ tree. It is twice the size as the old one and closer to me too. That may prove to not be good. $$$
It's warmed up to 102º so I hope that Mandy will be quick this afternoon. Big lunch so not much of anything for supper. Maybe just left over popcorn and some water. I won't need an afternoon snack today either.
CJ, I don't like disarray either. Everything has to be in it's place or it drives me crazy.
Carolyn, did the doctor say no injection? I had a cut on my hand and I still got my injections. I had no infection.
Elle, I slept horribly last night so I hope to get a nap too.
I hope that Jane is resting well and feeling better. Prayers for Jane and Grammy. (((HUGS)))

Good Sunday afternoon to all. We have had much needed rain overnight and this morning and more is expected which will be a double blessing.
Sorry I haven't been here much, but it was a very busy week, even for me. We had three basketball games for Drew, a cross-country meet for Drew, Grandparents' Day at Josie's school, a football game for Emmett, a retiree luncheon for me at MO Farm Bureau, my annual gynecology checkup and mammogram, a family reunion and 80th birthday celebration for Mike's mom's side of the family yesterday, and it was my first board meeting at my new job on Thursday along with working extra hours on my usual work days of Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday. Whew, no wonder I am tired. Even though we have four straight days off (Friday through Monday) we seem to be running all the time and don't get anything done!
This week is about as busy. I have my first appointment to talk about hearing aids at the ENT office in Columbia tomorrow afternoon and then we have to high-tail it down to Vienna for another basketball game for Drew. Then work on Tuesday, work on Wednesday and a basketball game in Prairie Home for Drew, work half day on Thursday, cross country meet for Drew in Belle that afternoon, haircut on Friday, football game at home (Emmett's school, Blair Oaks) on Saturday and Sunday morning both DDs and I are leaving for an overnight trip to the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile in Oklahoma. We will be staying overnight at her Boarding House in the Drugstore Room. We plan to drive down Sunday, get comfy in the room, have room service supper (the restaurant and most of the town aren't open on Sunday so they offer a pared- down room service menu from the restaurant with a free happy hour in the evening, a fresh-baked cookie when they do turn-down service and give you a menu to fill out for specialty coffee or tea and pastries to be delivered to your room the next morning. The girls work so hard and never get any rest, so I plan for us all to get into the comfy robes they provide, watch a movie, eat our room service meal, and just chill out and maybe even let them sleep. Monday, we will visit the Merc, see if the Lodge tours are open, visit in town, have a late lunch at the PW restaurant and head back home. I know it will be a fast trip, but it seemed to be the only time we could get a room (you just have to constantly check the website of the Boarding House for cancellations because they are booked up well over a year in advance) and our schedules aligned to go.
And, this Friday before we go, after my haircut, I need to make and bake at least 150 cinnamon rolls for Eli's junior class concession stand event on October 4. I won't have any time except Friday to do them so I will make them and freeze them and get them to DD the night before they need them for the concession stand. The rolls were such a success the last time that they have been specifically requested and I may have started something I wasn't ready for! LOL.
We did church this morning and then ran some errands. We got a few groceries and had lunch and Mike went by Menard's to start getting some things for the new garage/shop we are going to build. Concrete work should start in a week or so and the building itself should start going up around the first of November.
I am so sorry that Carolyn, Jane and Grammy are having such a rough time and hope they all three feel better real soon. CJ, I hope your mother gets over her reaction to the injections soon, too. d
Love to all, time to do some much needed housework that I simply haven't had time to do this week.
