Good Morning....
A very pleasant morning on the swing with my coffee. The birds are busy at the feeders and the chipmunks and squirrels are trying to get as much seed as they can.
Does anyone remember the cooked cereal Wheatena? I love it and haven't been able to find it anywhere for many years now. Yesterday DH & I went to a huge garden/food/odds and ends store. We've been there before and really enjoy looking around. It's about an hour and 15 minutes away from us...so don't go often. Anyway...they had Wheatena..so I bought 2 boxes.
DS#2 is having a shop update today. He has lots of new things for sale. Check it out chrishosbachceramics.com 10am MDT
Today is vacuuming/swiffering day. Have a great day everyone..........

A warm and very sticky morning. So much for the nice mornings. Because of hurricane Francine and the fact that we are still in monsoon season, the dew point is high and the winds will be high all afternoon into the evening. But at least it will only be in the low low 100's for a high.
Whites are in the washer, cookie dough out of the fridge, so it will be more workable, and I am enjoying a real, home made cookie with my coffee this morning. Happy, happy me. No plans for the afternoon other than push the dust mop around, and like IC and Cj, there is some dusting to do here too.
CJ, I've never heard of that cereal. But then I only eat Malt O Meal and fruity sweetened oatmeal from packets when it comes to hot cereal. As I kid I wouldn't touch oatmeal and only ate Malt O Meal or cold cereal. Mom tried to get us to eat other hot cereal but it was a waste of food and her time.
Supper was going to be chili but I believe I'll be making something else, more warm weather friendly.

Mamma...Wheatena is an old hot cereal from the 50's, 60's on up. But now it's hard to find in grocery stores. I learned about it from DH when we got married. He ate it as a kid. I never liked oatmeal as a kid but love it now. Only eat the Old Fashioned Oats. Don't like the instant kind, although back in my younger days I would eat that.
Vacuuming and swiffering have been done a long with a load of sheets washed. I'm sweating as the humidity is going up. I think I'm done for now except to figure out something for supper. DH suggested a Fig, Pig and Arugula pizza. I'll have to get my recipe out and see what I need to get for that.

Good morning, another sunny day and in the mid to upper 80's but the humidity is low so it's tolerable for me. I bet GRAMMY would enjoy it too. Last night I had supper with DGD/spouse at their house. We played games and had a nice visit. The grandkids are always busy so this was a special time for me. DD/spouse should be home from the Smokey's tomorrow early evening. We talked on the phone last evening. I did most of my cleaning earlier this week since I had game day her but I have laundry and a few other things that need to get done.
CJ I've never heard of that cereal. I'm sure you were happy to find it and can get your taste buds satisfied again. LOL
ICOOK I'm already missing fresh produce. Especially the sweet corn. I don't like the thought of winter either. Have you noticed the days are really getting shorter?
MAMMA Ok, now I'm laughing!! the time is ONLY going to be in the LOW 100's??? Ok, if that's what you say. But I say not matter what, high/low humidity, that's still too hot for me. LOL It sounds like you have a busy day.
Time to mosey on and get something done.

I got my HC okay yesterday and when I got home, I started to feel sick - weak, chills and my head and face just hurt! I think it was from sitting under a vent when having lunch the other day, but I suppose covid can't be ruled out either. It really hit me like a ton of bricks. If I get to feeling better, I will come back and visit more.

Hello all, it's a pretty day here, to be 80* with a slight breeze. I've got a load of jeans and towels on the line, the perma-press went into the dryer. I wound up going to the game, was there for about 10 minutes in all as I'd stopped at the library to pick up a book, they were closed, I'll have to go again. It said they were open on their website, but not when I got there. I also need to call the other library as they said I have a book out, that I don't, I had talked to them about one by the same title, but maybe something got clicked, we'll see. We ate at the casino, I ate too much for one thing and they had a deep fried shrimp, the breading almost looked like tempura which is usually ok, but I never learn. I was awake at 4:00 for about an hour and went back to sleep for a bit. I put some wide mouth quart jars in the dishwasher that I picked up at a garage sale before the game and they'll get put away after I run it. I pretty much used up all that I had during Picklefest 2024. Lots to do, not a lot of ambition and that is just fine! There is a banquet for a rod and g*n club tonight, I said I'd go as the neighbors were going, they can't now, so I'm locked into going. I do need to practice the word, sentence, phrase "NO!"
School is going well, I'm just more tired than I expected, we already have a field trip and a math test coming up. Just need to work more on crowd control and noise levels as they are not where I expect them to be.
I wish you all a blessed day!

Elaine, I can see why you are laughing at low 100's being nice. But after the summer we have had this year with the mid and upper 100's, the low 100 is a relief and a blessing. However the high dew point is no blessing.
Jane, I hope it is not COVID that has knocked you down. Down here it is going around quickly. That is why I am masking again. I don't care what others think. Prayers on the way for you my friend.

My parents used to cook Farina at the farm, I had to look up to compare them, they're fairly similar.
