Good morning, help yourselves to coffee, mugs are above the coffee maker.
It looks like it is to only get to 66* today, we are in an air quality alert, fires in Canada are causing that. Someone told me that the fires that go under ground into the peat layer and smolder are called "zombie fires" and can get just enough air to burn for years. Yikes!! The sun is starting to rise, it's really pretty behind the island. Let's see-yes, full-time long-term right now. I wasn't planning this, but someone had surgery, a few things got shifted around and I have 18 3rd graders. I am looking forward to the regular routine happening, lots of community building and getting to know the routine stuff, I'm luck to already know most of the kids. I spent the majority of my full time teaching in third grade, just getting back in to the routine with new computer systems and all is the big thing. I do believe I need to go and get some new tennis shoes too, what I've worn the last couple of days isn't cutting it.
Last night I was dealing with cucumbers, again. Note to self, don't pick 'em up for someone else. Also, plant your own dill and garlic. I can't grow this many cukes-never works and would take up more time and space than I want to give up, but I'm starting a list for stuff to situate for next summer. The Yeti walked in and asked if this was the end of them. I told him to not jinx anything, just shhhhh, just walk away as I think they are reproducing when I'm not here. I'm almost out of wide mouth lids and dill, so there's that too. I'll do some as bread and butter pickles and some as relish and then I'll go on a cucumber avoidance mission for a while. Then, to finish the apples. By the way, I'll be gone this weekend, so apples are getting frozen after I deal with them, they can get canned later into jelly and all. My friend's sister is staying here on Monday night, so I'm not doing anything but visiting with her then. I should go look for something to wear, blessed be everyone!
