Good Morning....
It's a bit cooler but still quite humid. I think the temps and humidity are suppose to start coming down and be more pleasant.
Had the kids yesterday. Penny told me kindergarten is really fun. She told me her bus #, her locker # and where they go to eat lunch (in the cafeteria...it's also the gym).
Today I need to make a run to Walmart to check out some party supplies and things for the birthday party next Sunday. I have to order the cake on Tuesday (Costco)...and get potato salad and coleslaw from Gordon's Foods later in the week.
We are planning to go see DMIL after lunch today. Haven't seen her in a week...as it's really stressful for DH to go there. I hope she remembers us...and I hope she hasn't been giving the aides any problems. She can be quite stubborn at times and not want to do what they want her to do.
Carolyn...hope you get some relief from the back pain. I'm glad your DD's are there to help.
Hope everyone has a great day............

Good morning CJ and those to follow. I was surprised to see the door opened early on a Saturday. Weekends are usually later. CJ, I hope your visit with DMIL goes very well. It was nice to hear that Penny liked her first days of school too.
Hot and a bit more sticky this morning and through the weekend. But I'm not going anywhere. Karen asked me this morning if I wanted to go out for supper. But I opted not to, I just don't feel like going anywhere. I'ld rather stay home and do nothing than go out to eat.
Today I need to get to some cleaning, change to the fall bedspread, dust, and clean the fridge well. And I will work on making a couple Christmas cards or work on some new things with the cards. I may swing into Frys for the coffee that is on sale I forget what else they had on sale that I use if I am in the mood to leave the house. Although I doubt I will leave the house this weekend other than take Mandy out.
French bread pizza for supper or lunch. I just have to remember to take everything out of the freezer when I am done here.

78 here this morning. Need some rain. Hope all of you are well. Had a prettty good day yesterday. Stayed on the porch a long time in the afternoon. Sleeping; I do ok once I get comfy. Getting up is painful. The girls will probably leave Tues. I will surely miss them being right here with me. They drive over together. The trip is a little over 200 miles and they have to come through the corridor of the Smokies. Phone service sometimes is very sparse through there. They don't need to travel alone. Be back later.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Another beautiful morning - - - It's 71 and sunny and nice, fresh air! You gotta love perfect days like this!!! The chicken supper was very good last night as was the company to enjoy it. My neighbors offered to go pick it up, so I let them and my, but it was tasty --- I still have the biggest breast piece a couple of the potato wedggie's and some of the beans left for today. CJ, glad to hear that Penny is enjoying K. Probably never a doubt that she would. Hope your visit will go well with MIL today. Mamma, you just never know when the Grannies will get rolling on visiting - - some days earlier than others, but all of it is most welcome, regardless of the time. Hard to believe you turning going out to eat - - You can always stay home, and you don't want people to think you don't want to join them and not receive the invitation again. Enjoy your card making. IC, yes, those days of the fresh produce are going to be coming to an end shortly - - along with the daylight hours! Both are missed! Carolyn, I know you will miss the gals when they head back - that time always goes by too quickly. Hope the pain is getting better but know that it probably isn't as fast as we would like. I got bad news yesterday afternoon - - - After the kids got to the SD house, Josey got out of the vehicle and laid down and went to sleep - - - forever. Jen had been telling me that she wasn't doing good and they had been recommended to take her to vet at ISU. Well, they needed to go to the house yesterday so couldn't get there yet, but a good thing they didn't if this is the way it was going to end up, as I know that is very, very expensive. Dawson wasn't with, so didn't find out until they got back, and of course, was devasted - - He said she was my best friend and sister and was only 7, and shouldn't have to go to heaven yet. They took her to be creamated and the remains will be shipped to them.. I know they will all 3 have some hard days ahead.

GREENBACK Oh my, I am so sorry for the loss of your family's precious friend/pet and as Dawson said, sister. My DD had to put her cat down last week and I have a friend who put their dog down yesterday. There's not much more pleasing that good food and company. I'm glad your evening went well last night.
CAROLYN The visits from kids always tend to be too short, go quickly and few and far between. Take care and I hope the pain will be gone for you soon.
ICOOK It sure is good to have a/c! I'm so thankful for it. I am going to miss the Farmers Markets good produce too. Maybe you'll sleep better tonight.
MAMMA It sounds like you have a lot of work you want to do today. Just remember to give your shoulder/arms a break. Do you create your own designs etc. for the cards you make? They certainly are beautiful.
CJ I bet you and your DH have mixed emotions about visiting your DMIL. It is so heartbreaking to see them like that. It's no surprise that Penny likes school and knows all her numbers for locker etc. You are a good teacher and influence on her and Teddy.
I've been to the bank and back. I also got gas, it was $2.87 at the station I filled up with and $3.09 and up to $3.39 at others. I have cleaning and laundry to do so the afternoon will be busy. I didn't go out for supper with family last night. It was a belated celebration of my Grandson-in-law birthday. I had gone to help a lady with her garage sale. I planned to stay an hour or so but ended up staying 3 hours. It was inside and no a/c. I was hot and exhausted when I got home so opted to stay home. The day before I had company most of the day so I needed a break. Needless to say, I really slept well last night. LOL

Jane, I don't always want to eat out. Karen likes to go out to eat often, she seldom eats at home when she is there. And last week I ate out twice, once with Karen at AppleBees and once with Lynda at BK. That is enough eating out for me for awhile. Karen has way way more money than I do so she can afford to eat out often. I'm not made of money. Yes, no matter what time we get here, it's the right time. Losing a pet is like losing a family member. My sympathies to them all.
Elle, my cards are my own design. I do look around for ideas, but so many are too elaborate and have way more tools than I have. I like more simple pretty cards. Thanks for the nice compliment. Gas here ranges from $3.39 to $3.59. I've not seem gas below $3 in a very very long time. When we first came to Yuma as a snowbird, gas was quite a bit higher than anywhere else we had been. And it is still way too high. But at least it's not taxed like in California. I honestly don't know how people can even live there. Which is why a lot of them are moving here. No Yuman is happy about that

Hello, I guess I should say Good Afternoon. I got up at 8:00 but I also didn't get to bed til about 1:00 a.m., I'm realllllyyyyyyy getting sick of pickles. I had more cukes waiting for me at the Amish greenhouse, but when she asked if I still wanted more next weekend, I asked if she had someone who needed some and her reply was "Yes, ME!" so I told her thanks for the offer but I'm good now. I did run to the bulk store and got sugar and some other things and he asked if I'd drop something back at the greenhouse, since I was going by, of course. I'm home and trying to psych myself into dealing with these little green buggers. I will enjoy them in the winter anyway. It's a beautiful 75* and that's about our high for now. The resort near us is packed for the last weekend of the summer, I try to remember that the tourists keep our economy going here, whether they like the liquid water or the frozen kind, northern MN runs on tourist $$$. The Kravitz ladies were happy to see me when I got back, granted they puppy dog eyed me to get a doggo cookie, they've got it figured out. Best get to the pickle festivities, yay.........

Grannies sorry that I didn't make it here yesterday. No internet all day long. Sure makes a long day without the computer. Seems someone unplugged something here and then forgot to plug it back in.
It was a very long sleepless night so today has been a day filled with naps some long ones and some short ones! I do hope that I can sleep tonight and thos nice naps won't keep me awake tonight.
Looks like the chairs on my patio have been changed and they still don't look right. One is too high and the other is too low. Yesterday, I was in panic when I couldn't bet up. I finally did manage to get that back end up. I think a different cushion might be what I need in one of them
Suppertime call will be calling soon so I need t get ready for that

Good Saturday afternoon to all. It's been a busy and productive day here. The weather has moderated a bit and we have taken advantage of it. Mike has finished the mowing and weedeating and now is brushhogging on the tractor. I have weeded and watered flowers, put three loads of laundry on the line and they are off and folded and put away, I have cleaned 3 bathrooms, swept the floors and mopped the tile and hardwood floors and just took a peach cobbler pound cake out of the oven. I should have walked, but just didn't get that done today. I did get a walk in yesterday before we went to the fair in Vienna.
Eli's and Drew's hams both sold for $20 per pound which was relatively low; all bidding seemed to be low last night. Trinity's sold for $14 per pound. I thought with it being an election year and I even reached out to some of my network of political contacts, that there would be some competitive bidding between candidates seeking local and statewide public office, but there just wasn't the high bidding there usually is. Some of the kids that sold steers had built-in buyers in the farm equipment dealers their family does business with and those brought very high dollar, but I understand and respect the business relationship there. Anyway, it is all good, the hams are sold and the kids got some recognition and some money. It rained for a while at the sale last night, but we were all under cover in the show barns so wasn't a big deal and cleared up in time for the evening concert which was Easton Corbin. I didn't get to talk to Jess much as she is in charge of the banking aspect of the livestock sale, is in the trailer for processing all the transactions and balancing at the end of the night and record-keeping, etc., for the buyers, kids, premiums, etc., but she told me that Easton Corbin was looking for something to do when he got into town before the show so she and DSIL brought him to the gym they own and he worked out and they hung out for a while. She was appalled as she would have tidied up their private gym quarters and likely even the gym itself, but Fair week is a whirlwind for them and especially for her as she still works each day of the fair and not only does for her kids but is the bank's ambassador for the event doing things like working the gate today. And, of course, things are complicated even more this year with their responsibilities for the junior class concession. We didn't go to the parade this morning, but I saw a video of it and Facebook postings that Eli's junior class got first place with their class float which turned out really good. This year's fair theme was "Rollin' on the River."
Last night, not too far from home and it was late, about 10:30, we came upon a family struggling to get a car up on a trailer and Mike stopped to help. They were in quite a bind; the girl had driven several hours to attend her school's football game against a local team, and had somehow slid off the road and into an embankment on her way home. She had called her parents and they had arrived with a borrowed trailer and wench in tow, but the wench wasn't working. So, Mike to the recue, he got the wench working for them, helped them get the car on the trailer, showed them how to properly ratchet it down, and he got them on their way and we pray they made it home safely. I was proud of Mike; he is a good guy and so very handy to have in times of trouble like that.
Jane, I am so sorry to hear about the family pet/member Josey. May she rest in peace and may you and your family, especially Dawson, find comfort and understanding in the days to come.
CJ, are you still enjoying your new washer? Need to get the cake turned out on the pan and put a glaze on it and a sprinkle of brown sugar after that. DD#2 just called and invited us to supper, so I will take the cake and we may just order out and eat at their house as she has had a very busy day, too.
Wishing everyone a great rest of your day!
