'Morning all! It looks to be a gorgeous day out there, it's 53* now and to get to a sunny 76*. I woke up to thunder and lightning yesterday, followed by an act two of that with wind added, then repeated a few more times. It was excellent sleep in weather, except that I couldn't. So, today I am home and it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. When I got home last night, we had a belated anniversary dinner, minus the nine extra people who were here that day. The Yeti then watched a football game between the bison and the buffalos, so the fluffy cows were all together. I talked to Al, the couple that usually give him a ride to church will be gone on Sunday, so I may go up Sunday morning and go to church with him, I need to drop off my nephew's shoes that he left here and get apples from my brother and dill from my sister. I'll see how it happens. I'd go tomorrow night except I am still working my way through all of the cukes I got, so it'll depend on how productive I am. In fact, the Yeti is taking his Dad to dialysis (3 1/2 hrs) and he and his mom are going to the store while he is there, so he has to go and get me some canning jars. New jars-kind of a treat! The classroom is ready, just a few minor things to do, but it's a go. Since Monday, the room has been cleaned and organized, same with the cupboards, except one, many meetings took place, lesson plans created, desks organized along with supplies, books and folders and journals labeled, materials brought in and some trash taken out, bulletin boards done, whew! There was another teacher much of the time and the student teacher too, she's in another room as well, so, that's what's happened here. I wasn't planning on this, it just happened. Yesterday, we had a meeting and two people sat and talked through it, one was late getting there, they then chatted and got shushed by the presenter, kept talking and grumbling. I wanted to say, "...and if your kids did that?" also, "couldn't you just have your glass be half full for a bit and look on the positive side for a while?" There, got my morning soap box topic out of the way. As the Monty Python song says, "...look on the bright side of life..."
Help yourselves to coffee and you can see what has happened at home lately-they are ready to taste test after Thanksgiving.

Had a rough day yesterday but I slept good last night. I have had my water and taken my med. I can't do anything. These girls have been so helpful. I will probably cry when they leave. They have shopped, But cooked, did laundry and anything else that needed to be done. But they have DH's and obligations. Thanks for asking about me. I will get off here . Sitting with heating pad. Laurie, would love some cucumbers. I haven't had any good ones this year. I usually grow some but that didn't with it this year .

Good morning. Thanks Laurie for the info. But without fall detection it does me no good. It's great for people that have a good support group, I have not. Without GPS or fall, it would do me no good. Free or lower cost is nice if it works for a person. I'll pass on the information though.
Carolyn, I hope that you can get some relief from the back pain very soon. So thankful your girls are so helpful.
IC, Yuma county pays for nothing for seniors, you are lucky.
Warm this morning but low dew point but we still took the GF to the pet area. Mandy really doesn't care which pet area we go to anymore, but she does look forward to morning treat when she is done. hehehe
A trip to the UPS again and then to the $tree for some things for card making. Not sure they will have what I am looking for, and if they don't I guess I dont' need them. When finished here I better get to my ironing. I'm getting tired of moving it out of the way all the time.
My friend Lynda called me yesterday all upset. Her light bill went up almost $100. APS, the electric company in YUma, raised their rates beyond reason. One lady in her park said her bill went up almost $200. Something is way wrong. I know a lot of people have been complaining about the rise in rates and in some cases their bill almost tripled. They also charge $15 to read the meter. Good grief. I’m so thankful we have those solar panels and our park reads the meters. But I’m sure ours will go up somewhat too. I’ll find out in a couple days. Lynda’s rent went up too and she has a hard time with what it is now. I felt so badly for her. Now I'm even more happy that I didn't purchase the place in her park. I couldn't afford that kind of increase in the electric either. Our fixed incomes can't handle that. God had protected me well once again.
Call me crazy, I know I am, but I'm so hungry for my New England Clam chowder and am thinking of making some. I just need to pick up some potatoes.
Have a fabulous Friday everyone.

Good Morning Ladies - - - What a nice morning out - - so good to have fresh air coming in, even if it wont be all day - - - will have to wait and see how it goes. Right now, it's 69. We had a quick shower yesterday morning about 8:30 - didn't last long, and then got warmer than what I thought it was to get. Then last night we had a storm move through with thunder, lighting, and wind that produced some rain too. Had a nice time yesterday with my 3 friends - - As always, lots to talk about and then it was good to see that the gal that had shoulder surgery was doing good and said she was pain free. She's looking forward to being able to have it free in 2 weeks. Tonight is the chicken dinner at church - I have invited my neighbors to join me in having carryout's from there and we will eat here. She said she could go with me to pick them up, so hope it will be as good as I have always heard it is. At least, it will be good company. Laurie, your pickles look lovely -- I'm sure Al will appreciate your coming to take him to church. what grade is it again that you will be teaching? Sounds like you have your room ready. Carolyn, I'm sorry that the pain keeps on for you. I know it makes travel better for your girls, but it's too bad they can't space their visits so they could come one at a time, and be there to help you longer that way. I guess we are just grateful for whatever time and help we can get. IC, sounds like more goodies for you after your shopping today. I have an order to pickup today also, but not much - they have ground beef on sale so want to get some of that until I get to the farm to get the good stuff! My favorite pizza's are also on sale so will get a couple of those for the freezer. Mamma, hope you can find what you are looking for with your card making today. You have been making some pretty Christmas ones. It's a good thing not to rush into things, and the outcome of the other house sale has been a good example. How good that you didn't get caught up in something that would have been more than you could afford. Well, I had best move on with my day - - Debbie, congrats to the kids on their winning hams! Will be interesting to hear how the auction goes.

Another sunny and hot day. I'm going to be helping at a garage sale this afternoon. It's actually inside their home and is air conditioned. So that shouldn't be bad. I hope things sell well. Tonight we're celebrating my DGS's birthday with family at a local restaurant then will go to DD's for games. I had company most of the day yesterday so I don't plan to stat at DD's long for game playing. We'll see how it goes.
LAURIE You're just a do-all, do good person!!
CAROLYN Isn't it great to have family to help us. I'm sure you would love for your DD's to be closer to you. What are you doing for your pain? Do you have an appointment to see a Dr?
ICOOK I hope you find what you want at the farmers market. It won't be long and the summer produce will be gone for another year.
MAMMA Good luck finding what you need/want today. Your cards are so nicely done. Isn't Mandy just a beautiful, friend and good doggie!!! I miss mine.
GREENBACK Your supper will be taken care of tonight. The decision of what to have is out of sight and mind for you. LOL We could use rain, really need it. My grass won't need mowed for a few days again.
Time to head to the kitchen. Have a good day everyone.

Today was busy Christina was with me for five hours. Went to the farm market They didn't have the eggplant I bought last time, so no eggplant frying this weekend I'll go to the one near my apartment next week They have the traditional eggplant I'll have to cut out the seeds. Christina stopped at the store & got me some ice cream & soda that was on sale. She cleaned the bathroom & did the floors.
Elle I'm going to miss the fresh veggies Summer goes by so fast. I'm making stuffed peppers again this weekend.
Jane I turned my AC off today It's chilly here too Humidity returns tomorrow so AC might be back on.
Mamma The county was paying for Christina Not anymore. I'm on my own now. My electric goes up in the summer but not like what you'll be charged.
