Bad sleeping night Couldn't fall asleep Christina day Have to pick up a med. from the drug store It was on back order. Another chilly day.

Good morning.
Today we went to the larger pet area and saw Bill, Molly, Mary and Emily. Mandy could not have cared less. When she was done, she was ready to go home. Bill looked at my headlight on the cart and told me to come by his place in an hour and he will see what he can do. The one side would go off and on and now not on at all. It's dark now when Mandy go out and I need the headlights working. I just asked him if he knew where I could get it fixed. I had taken it back to the shop, under warranty, and they said they fixed it, they did not! I will not go there ever again, that is not the first time they lied to me. I will not tolerate lies from anyone.
Karen and I are going out for lunch today. I tried to get out of going to lunch, but I couldn't come up with a real reason that wouldn't hurt Karens feelings. I should wash the sheets but I don't want the dryer running while at Bills working on my cart. I can wash them in the afternoon I guess or tomorrow morning.
My stronger sleeping pill gave me some good sound sleep last night. Woke up once to use the bathroom and then slept straight through until 6. I feel well rested this morning. PTL Even my cookies are tasting good this morning.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Another beautiful morning - - gotta love sunshine! Not much happening for the day that I know of right now - - I do have a grocery order to pick up this afternoon, and will grab the mail then too! Tomorrow, my neighbors plan to be home again, but it will probably be Monday before I see or talk to them. It will be good knowing they are next door and checking on me. I sometimes wonder if I fell or something other happened to me, how long would it be, before anyone missed me? I try to always keep my phone handy, but you never know, I might not be able to use it.
My little buddy started school today - - Hope he makes some new friends today - hard being the new kid, but he's a social person, so I think he will be just fine! Now, if he can just settle down and listen to the teachers and do well with his studies, he will be a good kid!!!! I know his preschool teachers loved him.
IC sorry you had a bad night - hopefully a good day today will make up for it.
Mamma, don't be so harsh with the fix it shop - - - We have all taken things in to be fixed, and then when we get there, either they work again, or appear to be when we leave. They most likely did not lie to you, but thought they had solved an issue, but it popped up again. How nice of Bill to see what he can do. Hope you have a nice lunch out again today.
I'm wondering about Ellie - she hasn't posted for a couple of days or so. Hope things are alright and she is just being a busy social butterfly!

It's another beautiful sunny morning with the temperatures heading back to the summer temps. This has been a busy week. I was trying to catch up with my friends I hadn't seen/been with in a while so almost every day was full. Today nothing other than laundry and cleaning. DSIL will mow my lawn tonight. Next week is busy too but maybe not quite as much as this week. I need to pick up a prescription today and go to the produce stand and get some sweetcorn. One of the ladies who has coffee with us brought squash and tomatoes Wednesday so I have enough of those for now.
MAMMA I'm glad you were able to sleep well last night. I hope you'll get the lights on your vehicle fixed. The days are getting shorter and you'll be needing them. I don't like the short days. LOL
ICOOK I'm sorry you didn't get rest and sleep last night. Maybe a nap today.
GREENBACK I relate with you as to how long I'd be without help if I fell or something. DD checks in with me almost every day but that's later in the evening. I guess it's just trusting God will take care of the situation. I hope the first day in a different school will go very well for Dawson.
Thanks for missing me and yes, I was a very busy social butterfly this week. :-)
Time to get something done.

No luck. Bill being a tad older, like most everyone in the park, he couldn't get under the cart well enough to see what he needed to do. So I'll check with Johnny and see if he can help me or suggest some place. I can't have the cart tied up long because I need it mostly for Mandy. The asphalt is too hot for her to walk on..
Jane I hope your "little buddy" makes lots of friends and does very well in his new school. As for the repair shop, ha ha, they have pulled stuff on me before and others too. Not going there again. I don't wait for strike three. If I could get back up from the ground I'm sure I could fix the wiring myself, I have done it before. Getting old sucks. I often wonder too, how long for someone to miss me. At least on Sunday's Lynda would wonder, but that is about it. Karen says she would notice, but she is not as good about daily checking as she was at first. I still text often. But she is social so she is gone a lot. Which is why I was considering a Life Alert thing. Out of my meager budget though.
Sheets are now in the washer and I'll take the Swiffer Sweeper around the edges and tomorrow Annie can do a better job.

Elle, the sun sets here now, at 7:15. I am glad to not have the sun heating us so long, but don't like it getting dark so earlier either. Guess I am never happy. hehehe Don't you just love busy weeks? I know I do, less time to sit and be sad. Most of my weeks are quiet and boring. Thankfully I do have a hobby to work on when I want. It's a good thing my golf cart has one good headlight.

59 this morning. Turned off heat and air. I finally had a good nights sleep. Hurts to get up though. My girls are coming from South Carolina today. It will be nice to have them. One is a cleaner and a organizer and one is a cooker Both of those are important. My DS and DGS brought sub sandwiches yesterday and that tasted great. I have leftovers for breakfast this morning. Hope you are all doing good. Mama, have you moved to your new place? |

Good morning to all. I have the day off and I am making the most of it. Mike is working a half day today since he didn't get that done yesterday when he so kindly chose to go with me to my doctor's appointment. I am making the most of my time at home. I walked for the first time in three weeks; it was a lovely cool morning to do so, but heat and humidity coming back in force later today. I stripped the bed and have remade it, have two loads, including the sheets out on the line, I have fed and watered all my flowers, cleared out some pots as those flowers were just spent, weeded my flower beds, just put an ooey, gooey chocolate cake in the oven (new recipe), and have made my annual mammogram appointment. I have zucchini and squash waiting to be made into zucchini and yellow squash gratin, going to use some of our beautiful garden tomatoes for a tomato cheddar pie and also going to work up some tomatoes into either tomato soup or spaghetti sauce. A lot on my agenda today including I need to clean the bathrooms.
Jane, I saw the picture on FB of your little buddy and he is not so little anymore. Oh, how he has grown and what a good looking lad he is! You are right to be so proud of him!

Mama, enjoy your lunch out with Karen. I agree with Jane; don't be too harsh on the repair shop. You can firmly express your concerns and see if they can make it right.
Elle, glad you have been busy with friends. I am wishing we still had some of our ear corn, that sounds so good. We worked all ours up and it is in the freezer. But, I am grateful for the tomatoes that are now ripening.
Time to get to more of my to-do list. Wishing all a wonderful TGIF.

Ellie, I am glad to hear that you were just out having fun! Nothing wrong with that and even better when you can come and go and enjoy it all! Thanks for checking in though. I love the time I can spend with friends or family. My family time is very limited, but then I don't have a lot of family either and none handy!
Mamma, I am surprised with how little I have going on in my life anymore and things to do or places to go, how fast each day goes. There are very few days when I feel it's been a really long day. Each day seems to pass by quickly and the weeks come and go, and before I know it, it's a new week. Of course, I liked it better when I had somewhere to go and people to be with on most days, but that's not the way the days go for me now, so I just have to adjust to that. I hope you can get your light fixed with someone's help - - I too, do not like the shorter days! Guess I run on solar power!

Good morning grannies it's a beautiful morning with lots of blue sky and sunshine temp is at 75 the warn up has started! should be about 80 this afternoon! I might be able to sit in the sun for awhile. This is food distribution day but I decided not to do that so I'm home today with nothing to do. Somethings just take too much effort for me to want to do. Then I wish for something to do not happy very happy very long am I.
The plumber was here early he found a stopped up drain that the water softener was overflowing when it recharged. That was and easy fix. I still have some trouble getting used to calling a service man for everything we need done. DH could fix anything!
I'm so happy to get all meds delivered at one time every 90 days. Seem like I was the drugstore every other day. Sorry it was a bad sleeping night for you. Maybe tonight will be better.
Mamma sounds like anearly meeting of friends. How nice that someone wants to help out with the headlight, good friends!

Debbie, you sound like you are feeling much better - - - Happy to hear and feel that in your post. Of course, you would just cook your way through, no matter how you felt. I don't know why, but as much as Grammy tells us how good that tomato pie is, and I know others also agree, it just doesn't sound like something I would like, and I do like tomatoes! Hope you enjoy it. I am not a big lover of crust so maybe that is part of it. I would also pass on your summer squash - the "Z" is okay, but I have never thought there was any flavor in the yellow crooked neck ones. Guess I am just too fussy. I had more corn on the cob this year than I usually eat - - I had it 3 times this year and twice it was very good but the last time, it was just okay - - It came from a different place and was a different variety. It was okay, just not super good. Hope you get your ear issue solved.
Yes, DGS is a big boy, probably one of the biggest in his class both height and size - but even as tall as he is, he is short legged. He seems to have his length in his trunk.
Carolyn, so good you could get a good nights sleep. Enjoy your company!

Debbie you sure are having a problem after your so nice trip to Ireland at least you got to enjoy that. Hope the steroids help with the hearing problem. You sure are a busy grannie! Memories of those days is all I have now sure would like to do something other than sit and read/
Greenback munch, crunch, yuumm! can I have your pc of tomato pie. It doesn't use a regular pie crust it's more like a biscuit than pie crust. Our youngest ggs sounds like he is about like dg a big boy for his age. Sure is cute with his big boy haircut! He will also be the biggest one in his class' He will be in pre school this year. Thinking about a fall while living alone was one more thing to consider before making the decision to move in here. It might have been days before anyone missed me!
Mamma no point fussing at the repair person just wasted energy. Hope it was a nice lunch with Karen!

Christina went to get my meds. this morning & stopped at the farm market to get me some corn Won't be long & no more fresh veggies I so miss that in the winter She ran the sweeper & prepped some food for me I'm making a green bean salad tomorrow that has tuna fish & potatoes in it Only make it in the summer Frying another eggplant too Won't see Christina now till Tuesday.
Elle Warmer temps. coming my way too Probably need the AC again.
Grammy Walgreens tries to fill as many scripts. as they can at one time so I don't have to go as often.
Jane Your little guy has really grown.
