We saved on battery power today and just let the wind push the golf cart. OMGoodness it is just terribly windy out there. Even Mandy wasted no time getting down to business. The dirt in the air about blocks the sun and mountains this morning. It won't be long and neither will be visible.
The bed is stripped and the sheets are in the washer. Now I am sitting down and having my first cup of coffee and my cookies. After I finish my two cups of coffee I'll have energy to put clean sheets on the bed. Not much planned after that. Another HOT day but thank God the dew point is down some.

We had some nice rains yesterday so it is much cooler for now. I went to my lunch yesterday with my group. It was a good time. Lots of good food. I took macaroni salad and a pineapple n brown sugar cake. Easy. The people from the gutter place came out and washed my house. It looks so good. The screened porch needs it also but I can't climb anymore. I have no plans until next week. Guess that is a good thing. Maybe get my knee rested. I don't plan to do much today. Mama, I remember the dust storms when we would travel to California . You all have a good day,

Hello from Guest Laurie. It is a beautiful morning of 69* heading to 82*. #1 got in about 11:00 last night and is already out the door to his photo session. He's been having Jeep issues, so I think he'll be taking mine back when he goes tomorrow. That is fine, except for History Center Saturday, overnight at the farm, then church on Sunday I'm open til next Saturday, lovin' it! They'll be back up one Thursday anyways. I got a lot of silly piddly things done yesterday and then tried to log into my zoom meeting which didn't work, so I tried and that's all there is to it. There are already clean sheets on the bed, I may do a load of laundry sooner than later, we'll see. The Yeti is at the hospital w/ his dad, discharge may be delayed due to a computer issue, apparently all went well, now to heal up. I suppose I should get dressed soon, just wearing pjs all day won't work, I need to make the bed too. There is coffee, help yourselves, blessed be.

Goodmorning grannies it's a beautiful morning in this corner of the 'hood. Sunshine, white clouds and no rain in the picture until Tuesday! Maybe we will dry out a little more. DGD is having a birthday party for herself tonight so I hope the forecast is accurate. There will be lots of people gathered around the fire pit busy roasting hot dogs and toasting marshmallows and lots of outdoor games.
Laurie isn't it great to be the grannie, just send them home then start planning the next visit! Hope things are improvjng for a the sick ones.
Mamma glad we don't have dust storms here but we do have lots of wind.Just comb, brush and spray your hair then step out the door and the wind makes a mess of it.
The Dr did recommend I wear the pressure stockings! I can't even get them on! DD came to put them on for me. What a pain in the tush! I kept hoping that I could at least dress myself! I do love the stair master though. Guess I shouldn't complain just be thankful that I have people that want to help me.
It's 72* outside so I need to get outside and soak up a few rays

Good Morning Ladies - - - A beautiful morning, once again. Just keep them coming, please! I never did get here yesterday - - I came, but the door wasn't open yet, and I wasn't sure I had time to open it, and then after I got home again a bit after 5, I was tired and not very talkative. I did get to my appointment and stopped at KS there for a potty break and just grabbed a cheeseburger there and called it good for lunch. I really wanted to go to Dollar Tree too, but after my 2 stops, I knew my legs had enough and it was a wise move to skip that stop. Then I did stop at my sis's on the way home and visited with her for awhile and she sent me home with some fresh garden peas, so shucking them will be on my to do list today. I also stopped at the medical supply store where I got my walker because when I used it on Mon. at the Dr., I noticed that the cane holder had disappeared. They needed to order a replacement, however when he checked, he said they were on back order, but he would go ahead and order it and call me when it came. Mamma, don't blow away down there - - Stay out of the dirt and heat! Carolyn, always a good time when we can get together with friends and share good conversation and food. You will be happy with your nice clean house! Laurie - hope all goes well for your FIL. Will DS's Jeep go to the garage and you get a loaner? Hard to keep you down, as you always have places to go and things to do!! Take care.

We were talking at the same time again, Grammy - - - Yes, you are so lucky to have those all around you that love and help you. I almost refuse to wear those stockings, as I got a blood clot from them after I had my hip replaced. So far, I have stayed away from them. Sounds like a fun party tonight - will you go out and join in the fun? I'm sure you are loving the stairmaster - just a good idea for you.

Good morning to all. It is an absolutely gorgeous morning here in central MO. I got Mike off to work this morning and then turned off the AC and opened all the windows and turned the attic fan on and hung a load of clothes on the line before I went on my walk. Got back, hung the load of sheets on the line, picked up sticks out of the yard, fed and watered my flowers and had breakfast. Since breakfast, the bed has been re-made, weeding of the flower beds is done and I have made a few phone calls. Cleaning the two bathrooms I didn't get to last evening is next on my agenda.
Mike works until 12:30 today and, after lunch, we'll make a trip to Versailles to get the ball rolling on our new shop/garage. Then, we need to start thinking about what and how to pack. He'll try to leave the yard until Monday to have it as short as possible before we leave. Supper will be chicken salad for sure, not sure what sides yet. Seems funny that it was Monday when it was so hot we needed cold supper options and now I have the AC off!
Looks like I will be going back to work. I got a call with the job offer for the MO State Employees' Retirement System's Board Administrator position late yesterday afternoon. I said I was surprised to hear from them again so quickly after just interviewing on Tuesday, hearing I was a finalist on Wednesday, and they said that once they interviewed me and found out I would be out of town for a while they knew they wanted to move fast which was very nice to hear. I really didn't think I'd go back to work, but I'm finding out that retirement is expensive--LOL--and this is a very rare salary offer for a part time position. I felt like it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up and I can always retire again if I find it is not a good fit with the retirement lifestyle balance I am trying to achieve. If it would be possible to coordinate it such that Mike and I work the same 20 hours per week that would be great, but I think it will be unlikely. Reminding myself that it is just 20 hours a week so I'll still have some free time.
I had better get at my chores; wishing all a great TGIF.

Good Afternoon....
It's a gorgeous day here. The perfect summer day.
I've been out weeding along my back fence...getting the spent flowers cut back and allowing the ones blooming now, to show their beauty. I was sweating and it was running down my face and into my eyes.
Yesterday we had the kids which is fun, but poor Penny wasn't feeling well and spent most the day on the couch under a blanket. Didn't want any lunch but did manage to eat a English muffin later in the afternoon and a popsicle.
Not much happening except I need to make a salad for a party tomorrow evening. I'm taking Greenback's Cucumber Pasta Salad.
GrammyDebbie...congrats on the new job. You will soon know if you like it or not. Hopefully you and your DH will still have plenty of time to do the things you enjoy. Enjoy your trip.
Lunch is done, so I'll head back outside to finish up. Have a great day..........

Boy am I glad my phone calendar reminded me of a visitor coming today. The home care nurse from Humana was scheduled for a visit and I had forgotten. That half hour was spent getting things put away and me getting presentable. Ten minutes after I got cleaned up she was at the door. Mandy really liked her and she was very kind to Mandy too. A very professional and understanding nurse. It didn't take long at all and she was done. I was told I'm in great shape for my age. No concerns. LOL
For lunch I decided on making a french bread pizza. It takes longer to put together than it does to bake in the big air fryer oven. It really hit the spot, but I was really looking forward to the Amish salad that I made yesterday. I decided it would be better for supper with the a/c running so much later in the day. No sense adding to the work of keeping the house comfortable.
UPS delivered my Temu order of die cuts for card making. I'm excited to look at what I have and maybe play with a couple of them. I am learning new ways of card folding today too. Such fun. Now if I'll just remember how to do them later. LOL

Mamma...do you have a special board to use to make fold marks on your cardstock? What machine do you have to do the embossing and making your own cutouts? Will one machine do both? I've looked at those machines in the store but have no idea what they do. There are so many for different things.
