Too much on my mind when my bladder woke me up at 5. At 5:30 I knew I wouldn't fall back to sleep and just got up. One cup of coffee done and the second one started by 6. It's going to be a loooooooooong day for me. I may have to take some kind of a road trip to break up the day. A nap is what more than likely will happen.
Another warm sticky day for us down here. No rain over night so the dew point isn't quite as high as yesterday. No matter, I'll be inside for the most part anyway. A WM order will be coming sometime this morning and that will give me something to do. I'm also waiting for a realtor to call me back. So I'll need to keep my phone at hand, which it usually is anyway. Dusting should be done, but I think I'll concentrate on beautifying the craft room. With no storage it always looks like a warehouse to me.
Enjoy your day whatever you do.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a nice morning with a break in the heat & humidity. I shut the AC off and opened up. It feels so nice to have a bit of a breeze coming in the window! There were bad storms last night, but they all went south of us - - lucky for us, once again. Today is coffee day - - Probably not a lot else will be happening. Yesterday, neighbors across the street and up just a lot, took a big tree down on the empty lot. It was a beautiful old big tree, but they are getting ready to build on the lot I guess. They join this lot, but their house now is on the next street. They will be good neighbors, so no problem there, just will be busy on our dead end street during the construction. Mamma, are you going to look at other houses in other parks, if you are waiting for that call? No wonder you couldn't sleep.

Good Morning....
The air feels somewhat nicer than yesterday. I guess the humidity will continue to go down for a few days. Thursday could feel like fall is in the air. I'm ready for cooler, but not fall just yet.
We had rain, again, through the night. It brought some bigger branches down in the front yard. Didn't even know there were any up there waiting to come down. My flower pots are water logged. I can't remember a July that has been so wet. It is good for the grass and gardens, though.
DMIL's apartment is empty now. We have her big furniture that DH thinks he can sell, otherwise donate. Her bedroom set goes back to the early 50's. It's very pretty and unique, but not sure who would want it. He'll try to sell it but who knows. Sometimes I wish I had a big house so I could use it in a spare bedroom. But at my age, I don't want a lot of space anymore. Just more to clean.
Our new front storm door will be installed today. I had thought they lost our order but they called yesterday to say we are scheduled for today. Good thing we will be home.
Greenback...enjoy your coffee day.
Mamma...wow...that was early to be up.
Have a great day everyone...........

Hello, we're back! It was a long day with a lot of driving-none of which was done by me. We got to see #1, DIL and the MP. He's changing so much all of the time and is a very happy little guy. Lots of smooching and hugs. We grabbed lunch, then got the cabinets, stopped at the brewery that #1 works at PT and soaked up their AC. Sage was all hot and sweaty and I just kept peeling his layers off, his cute bucket hat, sunglasses, shorts, and onesie. When I took that and his diaper off he pretty much sighed. Had we not been at someone else's place he could've been in his birthday suit longer, but was much happier. Apparently after we left him back w/ his mama he had a diaper blowout. That was nice of him to not give me that job.
We have to take the cabinets to the Yeti's uncles to be put in a garage and may go pick blueberries again since it's such a short season. I took them some yesterday as a "baby tax"~~~the midwife jokingly told them to have a "baby tax" during recovery--hold the baby, help out. So, I try to bring something they like, in this case it was wild blueberries.
FIL goes in for a pacemaker on Thursday, should be routine. Then I am at the History Center on Saturday and will stay at the farm over night and go to church with Al on Sunday. There's my week. Also, there's the dryer singing its song. BBL, blessed be.

Good morning to all. It is hot and humid here, but clouding up and right after I got a fairly good sized load of laundry hung on the clothesline, it thundered real big. So, I am watching closely and will need to make a fast run to get them off if it looks like the forecasted rain is imminent. CJ, like you, I can't remember a July so wet in a long time. The mosquitoes sure are prospering in the wet environment!
I have had my walk--whew, that was a sticky one, watered the under-the-porch flowers, weeded and hung the load of laundry on the line. I just remembered I need to burn trash before it rains. Mike is working in the garden. Just now getting dry enough to till again and now more rain is coming. We have zucchini, yellow squash and cucumbers coming out our ears. But, not enough cucumbers to make pickles. Wish all of you were close so I could share. Our neighbors all have plenty enough of all three that they won't take me up on my offers to share with them!
Yesterday was a long, very hot day. Eli had a one-day throwing camp for discus in Fayette, MO, on the campus of Central Methodist University. They started some major work on the MO River bridge yesterday which is the main artery for travel from south to north in the middle part of the state, so he stayed overnight with us after the Sunday family reunion and, even though he can drive now, we drove him through Booneville, MO, to avoid the bridge and up to Fayette. It was such a nasty hot day that we didn't want to get too far away in case he needed us, so we planned to explore the town, go out to lunch and just generally have a field trip while he was at camp (yes, everything about the camp was outside and no shade to be had as it was an open track with the throwing areas for discus, shotput, javelin on the outer boundaries. But, I hate that everything (boutiques, lots of restaurants, antique stores, etc.) are now closed on Mondays! And, that was the case yesterday. So, Mike and I found a very nice park with a huge pavilion and basically hung out there, reading, talking and even taking a little snooze for the morning. Then we did find a restaurant open and went to lunch and found one thrift store open that we shopped around at before going back to the park for a couple of hours, checking in with Eli to make sure he was doing OK. Thankfully, there was a very nice breeze coming through the pavilion and we weren't terribly uncomfortable; we just kept thinking about the kids at the camp as the actual temp was in the upper 90s and the heat index was well over 100. We could have gone to Columbia which was about a half an hour away, but we both agreed we wanted to be close in case the camp dismissed early (it did by about a half an hour) or if Eli went down in the heat. He was a hot and tired guy when we picked him up, he had thought to bring multiple t-shirts along and had actually soaked one of his t-shirts in the melted ice in the cooler of drinks we had packed for him, and used the wet t-shirt as a washcloth for his face and neck throughout the afternoon. We got him something fresh to drink when we picked him up and had the AC on high in the car on the way home. He had a big Sam's order to pick up for his mom and his junior class so he left shortly after we got back to our house and his mom reported that he got the order, stopped for a Popeye's chicken sandwich, came home, unloaded and went back to their gym to play basketball with is buddies. I would have thought he would have been exhausted, but I forgot how resilient teenagers are! I am so glad we could be there for him and not leave him alone in such extreme heat
I have an unusual day today--I have a job interview at 1:00. I did not intend to go back to work, but there was an ad in the paper a few weeks ago for a part-time board administrator for our state's employee retirement system. It is 20 hours per week, taking board meeting minutes, preparing board packets and meeting summaries, travel for board members, etc., which is exactly what I did for 35 years at MO Farm Bureau. And, when I saw the hourly salary they were offering, I was flabbergasted as it is about the same as I made after 35 years at MOFB. So, I applied on a whim and I got a call last week that they are very interested in my application and would like to interview me. So, I find myself being interviewed today for a job I'm not sure I want. I know technology has changed drastically in the four years I have been retired and I am not sure I want to learn a lot of new computer things, although it would, I know, do me good. Also, I take board minutes in shorthand, no one does that anymore, and I could easily do it on a laptop during a meeting, but that would take some adjustment on my part. And, I had a whole IT Department at my beck and call (because I was in the president's office) at Farm Bureau, and a lot of the technology that got implemented before I retired I could do because I prepared things and sent them to the IT Department to do their do. But, we shall see. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. We're not wanting to touch our investments yet and there are lots of things we want to build and do in the next couple of years, so it's worth a try to see if I am a good fit for the position and if it is a good prospect for me. We shall see...
And, Mike starts his part-time position at the MO Highway Patrol tomorrow with a day of orientation. They know we plan to be gone soon for our Ireland trip, but they wanted to at least get him oriented and all of that out of the way this week.
Well, it seems the rain is coming so I had better get the clothes off the line. Wishing all a terrific Tuesday.

78 going to 92 Hot in the South too . Not much going on here. I have had breakfast And coffee. Decided to not go to the senior bingo because of where you have to park and then walk and walk. I did vacuum the living room. Every little thing shows up on the rug.
