It's so good to see sunshine today after our dark, gloomy, and very wet days ~ I will enjoy today as they are talking more rain for tomorrow! It won't ruin my holiday, as I have no plans, however, it may ruin my mood, as all of this rain is getting so tiresome! I got nothing done yesterday - hope today will be better, but I have a follow up appointment with the sleep study people and it will be a long walk in the hospital for me, so I am sure once I get home, I will likely head to the chair with the newspaper and see what's happening around town. Hopefully, I can get something done this morning, but I have to get up and away from here first! CJ, I was so sad to read about your MIL last night. So sad she has to endure this also. I'm sure it will change the plans for the move and more care will be needed now. I hope all goes well with her surgery and recovery. Grammy, are you just a zipping up and down the stairs now? I'm sure it will make your life so much easier and you won't be a captive to the downstairs now. I'm trying to remember what all I read last night and not doing so well with that, so will wish you all a good day.

Good morning.
Jane, I saw you trying to unlock the door so I waited.
This morning I was awakened by unknown pounding at 5:30. Turns out the vent in the bedroom was blowing onto the wall and a picture was bouncing. Needless to say I took care of that right away. But as long as I was wide awake, I started a load of laundry. Not sure how the stuff now hanging on the lines, will dry. There is a strong wind but the dew point is horribly high for us. No way am I going outside again except to take Mandy out to do her thing and get the few items off of the lines at the same time.
I have primer and rollers coming this morning so I can prep and Primer paint the area in the bathroom above the now free toilet. Once the primer is dry I'll paint with the extra paint from my previous paint job. I do miss the space the extension of the vanity gave me, but I can now have access, if need be, to the toilet tank. I can even clean the floor behind it now too. And I do have an alternative solution coming on Saturday for a shelf. It's not ideal but it should work good enough......I hope.
I'm still trying to figure out how to tell Karen that I don't want to go to the Forth of July gathering at her park. Right now I'm in a place where I don't want to socialize. I hope that she will understand and not be upset with me. Gatherings such as this just are not my thing anyway.
Sloppy joes and chips for lunch today, supper may be some vegetable spring rolls, cold cereal or a small sandwich. By evening I don't want to use anything that puts out heat so the cereal or sandwich may be the main choice. The a/c will be working hard enough today without me making it work harder.
CJ, I'm so sorry to hear of your DMILs breaks. My prayers go out for all of you. {{{Hugs}}}
Blessings to all.

Good morning to Jane and to Mama and all those yet to come to the GN today. We got over an inch and a half of rain last night so everything here is wet. And, it has made it quite humid outside as the sun is trying to come out now. We have Emmett and Amelia today so I haven't had my walk as they were here by shortly after 7:30 and needed breakfast. Seems like every day we have them it rains! So, Mike, Amelia and I have played a competitive game of UNO and Emmett is watching a football movie right now. He has his well check/football physical today so we will take him into town to meet his mom around 2:00. I am very glad he has the doctor appointment today as day before yesterday he got stung by a red wasp or a hornet, right on his nipple and he has a huge circle of bright red swelling on his whole pectoral area on that side. DD has been dosing him with Benadryl and it might be a bit better but still looks quite nasty. I am thinking he may need some steroids or something.
So sorry to hear about CJ's DMIL's injury! Oh my, I feel so sorry for her and the pain and confusion she must be enduring and now plans are in uproar for her future care I am sure. Prayers for wisdom for the family.
Mama, what color will you be painting the bathroom wall?
Jane, it sounds like we will have rain for the holiday tomorrow here, too. We have all decided to meet at DD#2's house, with meal in her basement, and, if fireworks can go off as planned, her little country road has fireworks that rival any city display.
Grammy, my girls and Mike surprised me with a special stuffed teddy bear, sporting a headband made out of material from one of my beloved mom's nightgowns, but most special of all, when you press its paw, it is my sweet momma's voice singing happy birthday to me as she did every year on my birthday since I left home. And, then, they spliced in, after the song, a "love you" wish from her. I collapsed into full-on ugly crying when I pushed that button. I had mentioned to Mike how much I missed my mom's birthday phone call and hearing her voice. I regret that I hadn't saved any of her voice mails, but, thankfully, DD#2 had and was able to splice in these special audios for me. I will treasure it forever.
Mike and I are excited to be going to Ireland in just about 3 weeks. We made the decision to go in late March and it is hard to believe it is almost here. It is a completely guided trip and we thought it would be a good way to dip our toes into international travel before trying to take on a trip to visit my pen pal in France as soon as we can. The trip is 11 nights/12 days and we will be all over the country of Ireland seeing everything from Waterford crystal being made, to tweed factories, woolen mills, working farm dog demonstrations, and seeing beautiful sights. And, bonus, it is usually in the 60s there in July/August so it will be a break from the heat here at home. We will miss Emmett showing his ham and his Highland steer at the county fair, but there always seems to be something going on so we just had to pull the trigger and pick a trip. I have always wanted to go to Ireland, I hear it is beautiful and we are looking forward to it.
Time to entertain Amelia again. Wishing all a wonderful Wednesday!

It's a cloudy day here too and rain in the forecast. The sun has peeked out now and then. I slept in today so I'm running short on time. It's coffee day too. CJ Prayers for your family. Such a heart breaking and hard time.
Waving "hi" to all my friends in the GN.

Good morning grannies it's a beautiful morning here with sunshine and warm 89* this morning! I know most of you would say it's too hot but to me it's nice and warm!
I do feel much better this morning after having two nights of very good sleep I sure hope that continues. I'ts been a long time since I've had two consecutive nights of uninterrupted sleep!
CJ I was so sorry to read about DMIL's fall! I hope for a quick recovery and she will be able to make the move soon. It does sound like re hab will be her first placement.
Debbie what a treasure the bear is to you and what a sweet thoughtful family you have to have it done for you. The trip to Ireland sounds wonderful I know you will enjoy every moment of it.Thanks for posting the picture and the explanation of the trip.
Greenback those long walks in the hospital or other places wear me out too. Wish the office and parking could be closer. I don't think there will be anything special going on here tomorrow either. Just another quiet day. That's a maybe I don't always know what is happening here.
Mamma good to know that you have figured out the solution to your bathroom work and have a solution to it. Happy Painting!

Grammy, what great news to hear this morning, that you slept so well. What is it like getting uninterrupted sleep? So happy that you got your stair master too. That gives you more freedom and movement. I love hearing good things first thing in the morning.
Jane, best of luck with your sleep study. How is the newer mask working for you now? Much better I hope. Too many rainy days do make for not so happy moods. We need the rain but with it comes humidity. UGH! So not used to that but thankfully it is short lived down here and not as oppressive as further north.
IC, I'm just thankful to have ac and won't complain about the electric bill, not always anyway. hehe Keeping me and my inside items cool and away from the humidity is very important. I'm not saying the bill is easy to swallow, but it is what it is. Stay cool my friend.
Debbie, that Teddy bear is a wonderful gift.
Elaine, you are lucky to have slept in. Although I know it can mess up a morning routine. Maybe I can sleep in tomorrow morning. Happy coffee day.
My friend Karen, was not upset with me wanting to stay home tomorrow. She was concerned that I was depressed and didn't want me to be alone. A assured her that I am just fine and dandy. I am just not in a socializing mood. Am I ever? No.
The primer is on the wall, cleaned the pan and roller, now to let the primer dry for an hour, then paint. I have some tiles to put on the side of the vanity to make it look better. It will not be a good job since I don't do or like tile anything. But next year the vanity top will be replaced....I hope anyway. Why in the world to people put tile on a counter? But then why did Brian and Carol do a lot of things. LOL To each his own I guess.
The wind is really getting nasty and the dew point is not falling. But the clothes on the line did dry nicely and quickly too. I just have 4 pieces of ironing to do but it will wait until tomorrow morning when it's cooler.
Now I'm thinking cereal for lunch and sloppy joes for supper.

Good Afternoon....
It is starting to heat up and the a/c might be turned on soon.
I spent the morning with my DSisIL going through things and getting stuff together. I never imagined she still had so much quilting stuff. WOW! I don't know how she could fit it all in that small apartment. Found boxes of stuff tucked into places all over. I'm hoping maybe my neighbor, who quilts, might like to have some of the material, squares and blocks she has. Then I might donate to the church quilting group or senior center what I have left if they are interested.
DMIL isn't having surgery yet. After another evaluation, they want the swelling to go down first then reassess what needs to be done. We are hoping to get her into the rehab part of where she will be moving, so she can then transition into her room at the new place. It is being checked into whether they have a room for her. That, to me, would be the ideal thing. DH said she could be released today if she has a place to go. We'll hope for the best. And he also said she is very confused and doesn't know why she is at the hospital or what happened. Her mental state has not been good lately. She has been asking where her husband is and why isn't he here with her when she needs him. Thank you for your kind words.
Have a great day everyone.....

Debbie, I just had the whole inside painted. I just painted a repair in the bathroom
The painting is all done. Oscar did such a great job that you can't tell anything was ever there before. I tried my hand at putting some of the tiles on the edge of the vanity, towards the toilet. Good thing it was not a paying joy or I would be fired. But it's better than nothing, I think. I need to do something so it doesn't looks so tough from looking down from the top of the vanity. I'm thinking some clear caulk to fill in the gap and then some brown or beige something for color. Next year I hope to get rid of the top but I can't do anymore this year, so I have to make what I have look not so awful. But then it's not like anyone but me sees it. Okay, it bothers me. hehehe. But I'm am thrilled with the wall results. Now to wait for the little shelf for the top of the toilet tank. At least I can remove that when or if I ever need to get into the tank. Not like before, there was no access at all.
I just finished the dishes and calling it a day. My shoulder is not happy with the painting even though there wasn't much at all. Who am I kidding my shoulder has not been happy for quite some time again. But I can't get into the pain specialist until the end of the month.
CJ, such sad news. My heart goes out to all of you. I'm so sorry all this is happening.
Recliner time, rest time, lazy time.
