Good morning to all. It is raining here--HALLELUJAH! We needed it so badly, too. Yesterday was just miserably hot and humid. The rain came in several hours earlier than forecast and came in rough with a big storm blowing in early into Amelia's ballgame sending players, parents and other spectators scurrying toward shelter. And, before the rain blew in, the wind picked up what seemed to be every bit of dirt on the infield and swept it out toward everyone. We were all tasting dirt by the time we made it to our cars. After waiting for it to blow over, and realizing it wasn't going to do that, the game was called and we got home earlier than expected which was good as we hadn't had supper yet and it was after 7:30.
Mike has gone to pick up Emmett and Amelia, meeting Meg at her office. We will have them each Wednesday until school starts now that summer school is over. Meg has worked out working from home one day, having DMIL watch them two days, us one day and she only works until 11:00 a.m. on Fridays when on her summer work schedule so they stay by themselves for those few hours. Josie continues to go to her pre-school which is open year-round. Today, after lunch, we will load the kids up, pick up Josie at her day care and I will take the two girls to swim lessons which are near their home and Mike and Emmett will go to his house and get the feeding of livestock done so when we get there from swim lessons and DD gets home, her chore load will be easier. They have eggs to gather, chickens to feed, cattle to water and dogs and cats to be taken care of. And, that is just at their home farm. DSIL goes by their other farm to take care of the cattle there and, recently, he's often moving hay bales. In fact, he appeared at the game last night with his farm truck and a trailer loaded with 17 big bales of hay. Thank goodness the rain waited until after the hay was baled!
Yesterday, I was really glad my walk got done before 7:00 and Mike worked in the garden until it got so hot it forced him in inside. After I got my morning watering and weeding done, I showered and went into town to do some shopping. I needed to go to Wal-Mart (gasp!) because I can only find Cetaphil cream in the tubs there these days and I also picked up some Miracle Gro for my flowers while I was there. Also needed groceries and I needed to shop for our upcoming trip. Also had a hair cut at 12:45 which was the whole reason for going into town. My haircut and errands kept me out from 10:30 until after 2 and I was starving when I got home as I didn't stop for lunch.
Jane, I tried to look at Daren's page, but, I guess because he and I are not friends, I couldn't see the posts about their area. I did see the one you shared on Facebook and the devastation is just heartbreaking. Reminds me of our great MO River flood of 1993--just unbelievable the damage that water can cause.
Wishing all a wonderful Wednesday.

Good Morning....
It's a little overcast out there and still very humid. I did have my coffee on the swing and watched the chipmunks raid the feeders. I have no way to keep them out. And I changed the hummingbird food as what was in there was quite cloudy and I noticed the hummingbird just fly by. So I knew it must not be good. Hope he comes back now that it's fresh.
Greenback...I had the same thing as Debbie...couldn't see any pics on his page since we are not friends. I missed exactly what happened. Did a dam break and that is what caused the flooding?
DMIL's evaluation didn't go as planned. She couldn't hear the lady and even trying to put her hearing aides in, didn't work either. So the lady ended up asking DH and his brother some questions. Anyway...they are hoping to have her moved in the next couple weeks if all goes the way they want it to.
GrammyDebbie....more busy days for you, like always. That was some hurrying about to get under cover from the storm.
Teddy did good for his ear tubes. But he did get sick to his stomach just as they got home. DD said after his nap and resting, he was pretty much back to his usual self. He's at school today.
Have a great day everyone..........

Good morning. Mandy and I have been out and back. As long as I was out I rinsed off the car. It was full of dust and one side had a lot of humming bird pooh on it. By the time I was done just rinsing off the car I was soaking wet of sweat. It's already 90º at 7am. And for us it's is humid too. So I'm sitting here stripped of my attire trying to dry off. I hate to sweat. Guess I'll need another shower too.
Mandy goes to the groomer today. If they don't do a good job this time either, they will be keeping her and do it better. New owners and new groomers, so you never know what you will get. After this I'll change groomers. It's two strikes and you're out.
Just a few odds and ends to get done but nothing note worthy.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's so nice in here this morning. I opened up last night about 7 and so good to have fresh air again. I just don't know how these people do it, that turn on the AC at the beginning of summer and leave it till they turn the heat on. It's 74 and when I heard the humidity was to be better today, open things went. I so enjoy the fresh air and slept better too. Debbie, sorry you couldn't see the pictures, and not sure why, but he must have something set on it. The one I shared is a good over all vision of the damage. It will all be heading to Mo. as it works it's was south. Hard to believe how dry you are when we all have had way too much! I heard the Missouri peaches are in - I thought it seemed early for those but I know they are always welcome. My sis says that they are the best ones! It's busy households at both of your DD's houses. Nice that you can help out with the kids and chores. CJ, sorry to hear the meeting with MIL had some issues, but hopefully, the boys were able to deal with them. Glad that Teddy is feeling better already. I'm sure it will make a big difference. Dawson has had tubes twice now, but after getting the tonsils and adenoids out, he hasn't had so much trouble. Mn. has had way too much rain that is causing flooding as it moves south. I dam did break in Mankato, Mn. also, but there is just so much water and it gets to really rolling and had done so very much damage. Mamma, nice to have the car washed off so early in the day - - that way, it has all day to collect bird do do again -- LOL! Hope Mandy will be beautiful when she's done today. Yesterday while my cleaning couple was here, he looked at my cell and took the battery and wiped it off and kind of scratched on it a bit and put it back in and charged it, and it took the charge and is working now - - easy fix! I have made one call already this morning and need to make a couple more. My dryer is taking way to long to dry - I had Kyle take the hose off and go after lint not long ago, but either there is more in it or the thermostat isn't working. 's

Goodmorning grannies, the sun was shining and it was a nice morning till suddenly the big dark clouds moved in. It's so dark I had to turn the lights on. No rain supposed till later in the day. Temp is 75 and only going to 80 this afternoon. Here I sit with my sweater on wishing I had put long pants on instead of capris.
I know several of you shop at Aldi's just wondering if your store will be remodeled. The one here has a large sign saying it will close for 6 weeks for remodeling. Hope that doesn't mean a increase in pricing. Sounds like this store will be more like Kroger's Marketplace.
I feel tired and not surefooted this morning so I thought it was a good idea to skip the shower and just wash the important places. Hope to be back in there tomorrow.
Debbie I don't know how you manage to fit everything into one day! Now you will be baby sitting one day a week! Try to remember there are only 7 days in a week and 24 hours in one of those days!! I would be happier if I could do a few of those things
CJ sounds like MIL does need more care. Hope everything works out for her to get what she needs
Mamma maybe ths groomer will know more what you want this time hope Mandy looks beautiful with her new "do"
The car is finally home after 2 weeks in the garage they finally said a new AC!! $$$
Got to find my blankie and get warm

It's cloudy and rain is to come later this afternoon. We had strong wind and rain yesterday a.m. but the sun came out in the p.m. It was a nice day and I didn't need/want the a/c until early evening. I even went for a walk even though I was tired. I might do a little cleaning this a.m. I'll be picking up DD and we'll be going for my cardiologist appointment. I think it will be just a follow up from 3 months ago. Tomorrow is breakfast with another co-worker.
DEBBIE I remember the flood of 1993. We were on our way to visit DD and spouse who lived in KC at that time. We had DGD with us and she was so happy and excited to see the MO river. LOL
CJ I changed hummingbird feeder food again today. I have only 2 females this year. I saw a male twice several weeks ago but it hasn't been here lately. I hope the transition for our DMIL will go well. Such a hard time for your DH and family. I'm glad Teddy is feeling better.
MAMMA It's hard to find a good groomer, one that "fits" our fur babies. The one we started with got cancer and had 3 other groomers taking her place, but they didn't do the grooming the same way. Try to stay cool today. The temps you have would make me stay inside too.
GREENBACK I also couldn't bring up the pictures. I'm like you, if the a/c doesn't need to be on, I turn the temp up so it doesn't kick in. I think the rain will start here about the time I need to go to the Dr. I'll just let it wash my vehicle. LOL
GRAMMY Be careful! we don't want you to fall! I know you don't want to either. I do shop Aldi but I haven't seen a sign saying they're going to remodel. They remodeled several years ago and closed for 6 weeks and I sure missed going there!!

Made the other phone calls this morning so that's taken care of... dryer repair is scheduled for Fri. AM, between 8-12. Jen is at work and Dawson at day care - - - Had to take a long way around making it a 30-45 min. trip where as the usual 15 min. At least they are able to get there safely now. Need to make a quick trip downtown and I will grab the mail out of the box while I am out. I just can't believe how nice it is in here today!

I don't shop ALDI's as often as I would like as the nearest one is over 25 miles, however that one was redone and had an addition a couple of years ago and is a very nice store now.

Good afternoon. Mandy got a very nice haircut today for a change. She looks so nice and smells nice and clean as well. I love how excited she gets when she sees me come and get her. I cry when I drop her off because she doesn't want me to leave her there. Buddy always loved going to the groomer, he loved Dana and all his friends there. Big difference compared to Mandy and Lola.
About an hour before Mandy was done, I remembered I needed to wash her blankies. In this heat they dried very quickly on the lines and were ready for her when she got home. Mandy is a nester and has to make a nest out of her blanket in each bed. If there is no blanket she will not go in that bed. We all have our little quirks.
I've done nothing all afternoon again. This is getting ridiculous. What happened to the lady that liked to keep busy and get things done? I think she died with Mark. The I don't care attitude has to leave sooner than later.
Hot and icky outside, 110º on the porch. We are done with outside now until Mandys night time potty time.
Jane, we had an Aldi's in my home town. Now the nearest one is an hour away. I love Aldis but I'll never live long enough to see one here.
