Good morning. Up and out and back home. I slept good last night and didn't want to get out of bed this morning. If Lynda weren't depending on me going to church with her today I would have rolled over and gone back to sleep.
Hot a muggy today. This morning it is already sticky and 90ยบ at 7 am. I'm glad I only have to go out of the house once this afternoon and Mandy is quick.
Last night my steak turned out pretty good. I would have liked it to moo more but oh well. I never get my steak perfect so no surprise there. And it was a nice change from cold cereal. Potluck after church so what ever is there will be my lunch. This had better be my last pot luck at church.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a nice start to the day after a rainy stormy day yesterday. We had some really hard down pours - We are fine here, but there is some terrible flooding in the area and even other parts of the state. Laurie, Lansing is a real mess - the campground on the west end of town was hit hard as were other area's. I saw lots of pictures on FB. Glad to see sunshine today. It's jus 65 right now. I know Al will enjoy having you to go to church with! Mamma, I thought you enjoyed this new church and the fellowship it offers - - what's with wanting it to be the last potluck? Always good food and fellowship at those. I'm sure your steak was a great change from cereal - but then you know how I feel about cereal. Nothing in the plans for today - will see how it unfolds. I didn't go to church today, but did a combination of on line and radio.

Good Morning....
It's overcast but the sun is trying to peek out. DH wanted the windows open since it's a bit cooler out there but still muggy. So we opened them and I can feel the humidity climbing back up in here. I think the a/c will be going back on later. He hates the stale air from being closed up. He doesn't feel the heat and humidity like I do.
We went out for breakfast this morning. Church will be tomorrow evening.
Nothing exciting happening here today. Just a load of towels to be washed and then I'll start working on the photo album for DMIL. I have all the pictures just need to sort them out as to which ones I will use and get the info about them written down.
Have a great day everyone.....

Jane, I love my new church and the fellowship and friends I've made. But I can not take working with Marylee much longer. She does not communicate. She gives no direction but gets spiteful when you can't read her mind and do it the way she is thinking. I'm just tired of her period. I ride with Lynda so I keep going and helping with coffee and potluck. But I may start driving myself sooner than later. I'm so happy to hear that you are safe, when I heard of the storms I was concerned and started praying for your safety.

Back here from church. Don't tell anyone, but I prefer Al's church to the one we go to, I've been going there for over 43 years and am still not Catholic-kind of a running joke as each new priest tries to get me to convert. I've helped decorate for many services, helped clean, worked at the KC pancake breakfasts, worked in the kitchen and dining hall, all of that, they welcomed me with open arms when Mom and Al married. We had a good service and sermon and got to see many people. Afterwards, we went to the farm and had breakfast, got the dishes done, swept, wiped things down. Al was heading to the recliner when I left. He has three irons there, I bummed one as the one the Yeti brought into our relationship gave up after 43 years, Al said to keep it as he won't need multiples. There is a baby blanket in the works for the shower this weekend and I need to press the seams. I'm not planning to do the diaper raffle, but am taking an afghan I made and this blanket as well as the "bring a book instead of a card." MIL needed one to so I picked up a small set of three board books and tied them together with ribbons and brought her a card too.
I love potlucks, no one ever brings "the worst thing I make" to them and the visiting is great. I have found if I walk into the kitchen at the church we go to, I do not get out quickly. At 60, I'm in the younger group, I don't mind, they've all done their time in the kitchen. Our circle has to serve the ladies aide dinner in August, we'll have to figure out who is bringing what. My MIL will make something, but it's hard for her to work in there for too long, same with the Yeti's aunt. SIL has been MIA in those things except to send the girls to "help" which is usually loud and silly behavior??? We seem to have differing views of what help is.
After getting back to my brother's I did the litter boxes and took out the trash, swept the basement, packed my stuff and promptly locked myself out of the house. I used the key pad to get in the garage door, good thing he never changes those codes. I brought the woofers in for a bit, they're all snoozing for now. The Nugget's sister lives here, as does Nim's, and the pup jumped on me with her big ol' moose feet after I let her out of the kennel, her prints are the size of a salad plate! I seem to always have a print or fur on me, my shirt says "Wake Up. Hug dog. Coffee. Have a good day." That sums it up. It's good to have her remember me as coming from our house. She's a goof!
Jane, I saw Lansing is getting hit, Cannon Falls too and they've closed two bridges in town. Faribault had on the news to "please do not come here if you can avoid it" as the looky-loos feel that they have to get in the way. Gooseberry Falls is running so fast as is the Big Fork River. #2 left Washington state yesterday, one hour out had a flat, that led to a bit of a Kerfuffel and then $815+ later he had new tires and had to fix something else. It's always an adventure. They are heading to Ann's for a couple of days too before heading back, it's good for all of them when he gets to see his bonus mom. I should get off the couch, but dang this thing sucks me into it and knocks me out. A snooze could be good, I've got the time.
This next week is crazy-Monday is dermatologist and a book club activity, Tuesday is Mahjong and then work at the other house. Wednesday is a meeting 5-8 for arts council, Thursday is dentist and Friday I'm taking Al to a funeral. The following Monday-wait for it-a follow up on the pain in the gut gall bladder! Maybe I should snooze on this end of the crazy ten days as they are from opposite ends of the area. Oh well.....

Laurie you have no problem finding something to do! What a busy bee you are! are
mamma hope this isn't your last pot luck. No matter what job you take there will be someone who tries to take charge. Don't let this person drive you away if your help is needed! Just do your job and ignore the bossy ones.
CJ breakfast out is a good start for any day!
Greenback good to know that all is well with you, no flooding.
IC hope the strong storms stay away from your house
Time to move away from here.

Laurie, since I was here earlier, I now see where there was an explosion of a house north of Lansing. It looks to be in an area where there are homes/cabins together facing the river. Looks like it was pretty much leveled. Sure hope no one was home or they were able to get out in time. I wonder if it could be related in any way to the flooding, as you wouldn't think the water would be a problem there.

Home and stripped to comfort level. No more outside until later tonight.
Lynda and I are both done working in the kitchen at the end of August. Kim said today was her last day, she doesn't help every Sunday but just comes and goes. Super nice lady too. Kim said no one wants to work with Marylee, and explained, so I know it's not just I and Lynda that have problems with her. Lynda and I have lasted the longest of anyone. And that is because we felt sorry for Marylee. Lynda gets very busy in her park during the winter and would be spread too thin and I don't like to be among a lot of people, like when the snowbirds come. Too many people make me very anxious. That is the truth and the one that we have told Marylee. She doesn't need to hear any more than that and hurt her feelings.
The potluck had a wonderful turn out for the pastor. All 11 tables that we set up were full and there was an abundance of food. Only one person helped us with the clean up, and Lynda and I thanked her over and over for her help. As always we enjoyed the chatter and socializing during lunch. So many super nice, friendly and happy people at this church. It's a joy to be a part of it too.
Now to put my feet up and park my butt in the recliner. We put on almost two miles of walking at the church today and I'm shot.
