Not much happening here yet, but thought I would say hello before I head to the shower and get ready to go to coffee. I had a good day yesterday and got lots of little things done and then made calls for the memorial service on Sunday.. I have the kitchen helpers all lined up and all of the food except 1 salad and 1 cake/bars - - but am waiting on hearing back from a couple of ladies I left messages with. It was nice to be able to think about something other than taking a nap! More H & H for today, but I plan to be inside except coming and going to coffee. Guess news is short on this end so early in the morning. Have a good day.

Up and out early this morning. Lisa and Boo were there but we didn't stay long and chat. Today is the last dentist trip for 3 months, I hope. Some of the permanent caps will be put on. The one tooth that was extracted has to heal before a permanent can be put on so that one is the reason for the next visit in three months. Dentist said 4 months but I told him three or he won't see me again until spring. hehehe Karen wants to drive so we drive across the border. I won't drive into Mexico, I cross on foot. The way they drive around there I'm not taking a chance on my car getting hit. Not sure what I'll be doing the rest of the day but I'm sure Karen will want to go out to eat if I am able. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to munch on something though.
Not as warm this morning, 77º but heading to 107º. I'll be in a/c so it won't matter much to me.
Jane, happy coffee time with your friends.

Good Morning....
It's a steamy one out there. Glad the a/c is working.
I had coffee on the swing but could sure feel my scalp sweating...LOL My hair style won't last long out there with this humidity.
I've made a pasta tuna & pea salad for supper. It's in the fridge getting cold. I found two recipes online that I kind of combined and made it my own. I know how to make it but wanted to see what other recipes called for.
We had another thunder shower move through last evening. I was talking with my mom, who lives south west of me and she said it was raining and thundering. Wasn't long and it was here. Power went out for about a minute but then came back on. Just enough to have to set some clocks.
Greenback...enjoy your coffee time with friends. Doesn't it feel good when you get several things accomplished in a day?
Mamma...hope all goes well at the dentist today. DH & I really liked our new dentist. Such a difference from the one we had been going to.
Have a great day.........

Well, I'm back, but I never left. I deceided that I was so tired that I really didn't want to go to coffee. I took my shower and then called the gal and told here I was going to skip today. I headed to my chair and had a good rest and then got up and made some French toast for a combined breakfast and lunch and am just finishing up my coffee now. I just have no energy or ambition today. I see it's really windy out again. Mamma, hope your dental work went well today.. CJ, I have been thinking about making that salad lately too, just haven't yet. Mine is just macaroni, tuna, peas, and celery with MW for the dressing. Especially refreshing in the hot weather. IC, nice to get a little outside time in - - A good way to start the day out.

Good hot and humid afternoon to all. There is a hot, dry wind blowing, too. I had my walk done before 7:30 this morning and did my flower watering right after that--they were thirsty from the heat, humidity and wind from yesterday. Mike worked out in the garden--more coons got into the corn last night. He sat in the back of the truck near the garden last night and shot at one coon, but either he didn't hit it or friends came to take its place. He was so mad. So, we made a trip into town to get some supplies to set up an electric fence perimeter around the garden, but he is not hopeful that it will keep the coons out. If you hear shotgun blasts this evening, that will be Mike as he wages war on the raccoon population here!
Then, for the second day in a row, we went to the accountant's office and spent over an hour (yesterday nearly two hours) on hold with the IRS as we attempted to find out where to fax the info they say they require to even be able to talk to Mike about his mom's missing tax return. Yesterday, the representative told us things I knew weren't right and kept us on hold for at least an hour back and forth as she attempted to find what she said was the correct fax number. We finally got a number from her, the accountant's receptionist faxed the info and she said give it a day or so to load in the system. Well, I just had a feeling that she didn't know what she was talking about as we had been told that once we got a representative from the IRS on the line, they could give us their specific fax number to which to fax the documentation and they could then talk to us.
So, today, since we were going to town anyway, I made a call to the IRS, got the usual option for them to call us back--in 84 minutes this time. When we got the call back, we were very close to the accountant's office and just went there and this rep was so helpful and verified that the agent we spoke with yesterday did not know what she was talking about. She gave us her fax number and the receptionist sent it--twice. Would you believe this kind, helpful representative's fax queue was not working today and she had to transfer us to someone else? She apologized profusely and when she transferred us to another agent, we had to get into the voice mail queue once again and this time no one called us back. We were hungry and frustrated by that time so we came home and I am going to try again. This time, when they call, I'm going to use Mike's phone, call the accountant's office and have them send the fax while we have the agent on the phone--hopefully! I can't believe the frustration we have encountered with this--and our friendly IRS agent admitted that they all work from home! Now if they worked in an office she could have given us a co-worker's fax number, gotten our information from him/her and we could have at least had some information on where her refund is and how we go about getting it re-sent! Keep in mind, there was a form filed with the return itself that designated Mike as his mom's legal representative and provided our address to receive the refund--that was completely ignored and, even if they had it in the file, they would still need to other form and supporting documentation we are trying so hard to send them! And, our government just hired thousands more IRS agents??? Are they going to work from home and be as frustrating as the ones we have been in contact with--with the exception of the one today who really did her best to help? What a mess and headache!
So, now I am beyond late in getting things done around here. Got the one load of clothes that I got on before we left for town off the line and a load of towels is now flapping in the wind out there. I need to clean bathrooms and/or mop, both will not get done as we have a ballgame for Amelia tonight. We skipped Trinity's last night as we were just too hot and tired and frustrated and it was in Bland, MO, over an hour away and didn't start until 8:00.
Tomorrow, Mike and I are going to help #1. He will help Eli with some maintenance projects at their gym they own and I will be helping Jess make many dozens of cinnamon rolls, taco meat for walking tacos and sausage/egg burritos to sell on Thursday at a basketball shootout where they will be hosting multiple schools/teams for the all-day event. Eli will help man the concession stand when he is not playing. I will help on that day, too, as we want to be there to see him play anyway. Eli is treasurer of the junior class and the class is in charge of all school concession activities for the entire year.
Time to get to work, sending love and cool vibes to all.

Oh my, Debbie...I feel your headache and frustration. Things used to be much more simple and straight forward. Modern times sure haven't improved anything. I feel for you both. And I know how frustrating it is with the garden and the critters that want your stuff. I have a huge fence around my garden to keep the deer out and anything else that can't crawl through it.
Greenback...sorry you weren't up to coffee with the gals but at least you got some much needed rest. They will be happy to see you next time.
Icook...hope Christina was able to get all the specials you wanted.
My salad looks good, but boy is it dry. I put the dressing on it this morning and put in the fridge. The pasta must have absorbed all the dressing. I just added a little more, but it's still not creamy. And I just took out some blueberry muffins....time to eat.

Just the cliff notes of my morning and not the long story. LOL Leslie did a good job of helping me match the color of me real teeth to the crowns. And I’m very happy having a smile with no crooked teeth. The crooked teeth were the cause of the cavities that I never knew that I had and had gotten bad. Seven teeth all total have been repaired from cavities and some from the teeth dropping from the gums. I clench my teeth at night, or so the dentist said, that is what caused the teeth to pull away from the guns. I received my teeth guard in the mail today and will start to wear it at night…..for as long as I can tolerate it anyway. So far I’m not happy with one part of my bite, but maybe I will get used to it as time goes. The bottom and top eye teeth on the right side are hitting each other quite a bit. I sure hope it doesn’t have to be corrected since those crowns (top) are now permanent. The very front two are temporary yet and once the gum heals from the extraction I will get the permanent bridge (In three months). It sure seems like all the brushing and flossing I do never paid off, just made me pay out.
I’ve got a doozy of a headache now, but I’m sure it’s from the work done today and the stress. Soon the aspirin should help.
Now, I’m going to take a shower and put on my jammies and get comfortable. I’ll be taking Mandy out at 8 in my night shirt. No one is here to see me and I’m well covered in what looks like a long t-shirt. It’s so unfair that men can go out in comfort, without being arrested, and women can not.😂
Wouldn’t you know it, I can now bite again and I have no idea what to make for supper.
LOL, for a person who avoids mirrors at all costs, now can’t stop looking and smile. 😁
