Good Morning....
We had thunder storms all night and into the morning. It was nice listening to the thunder but as I heard the storm approaching, I realized I didn't put the patio umbrella down last night. I was sure hoping it wouldn't get windy. Everything was fine this morning and now the sun is out and steaming things up. All week we are in the 90's, so the a/c will be running big time. It's on now and doing it's job.
DH & his brother are getting ready to move their mom into an assisted living place. They already have the paper work done, just have to get an assessment of her before they (the facility) go any further. She can no longer live in independent living. We've noticed a lot of signs lately and feel it's time. She is already putting up a resistance but for her own safety and our peace of mind, it needs to be done. Yesterday we walked into her apartment to find the sink had overflowed in the bathroom. She had put some clothes in the sink and turned the water on and forgot about it and went to bed. What a mess. We are sure hoping the apartment below doesn't have any damage. That incident just proved it's time.
Today I have a dentist appt with a new dentist. We changed to one in our town that was recommended to us by our friends. Hope we like this new place. I go this morning and DH goes this afternoon. It's just a few blocks down the street from us.

Good morning,
I am drinking coffee.
And I had to call about a
lab bill I was charged for but shouldn't
have been. It was coded wrong.
Called last week and they never
let me know anything, yay or nay.
I don't have much planned today.
My son and the baby will be down when
he wakes up. He
had a time out in the grass yesterday.
I think our senior citizens meeting is this
week. And, Saturday is the party/get together
so I will be making some desserts to take to
that.
I am going to make peach cobbler and a
orange dessert and may make some pumpkin
bread.
I have pound cake to take to senior
citizens meeting if they have it this week.

Good morning.
A warm start to the day and it will just get warmer. Mandy and I were alone in the pet area. The later start is proving to work out well, but I'm sure Mandy misses her friend Emily. After a snide remark from Mary I'll stay going later for quite awhile longer.
A load of whites in the washer and maybe a trip to WM for a large watermelon. I also need to make appointments for a haircut for me, a grooming for Mandy and get my nails done for sometime next week. We both are in dire need of some personal attention other than my teeth.
CJ, I would imagine your MIL is putting up a fuss, anyone would. But all will be much better for her move to assisted living. Prayers that the transition will go better than expected. Stay cool.

Good morning, a sunny, hot, humid is our weather today. It's already 87* and going to the upper 90's. And in that temp range all week. No big chances of rain either so I'll be watering the plants, bird bath and hummingbirds. No plans for today, just whatever comes my way. I do have the typical things but nothing outside except the plants. The weekend was typical also. I got the laundry and cleaning done. Tomorrow is prayer meeting then we'll be going to an assisted living place for lunch. It will be a buffet, like subs if I heard her correctly. One of the ladies in our prayer group lives there and has invited us for lunch. She said it's free as that's in her rent money. Nice!!
CJ The decisions are hard to make for our parents but like you said, it's for her protection and care. It reminds me that I'm getting older and just hope and pray I don't have to be the one needing care. One never knows. But your DH and his brother are so good and caring. Hugs and comfort to your family as you make decisions.
MAMMA I read your comment about my little watermelon. LOL I'm on water pills and I'd need a catheter if I ate as much of it as you do. But it sure does taste good. This one will probably be gone today. I might get another one. I do want to get some sweetcorn. I hope you will get the appointments you need for you and Mandy.
CAROLYN What a mess it is when they mess up the billing. I hope you can get it resolved soon.

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend. I made it to church yesterday with Al, got back here and had a houseful. They all went fishing last night and I opted to stay here, took a snooze and unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and ran it. I'm not going to #1's house but will go to DIL's parents' with them, it's about half the distance for me, so that's good. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I was not wise and ate some rice and that lead to a dry socket, holy cow, that was nasty! I really like my dentist now. Better get a move on, blessed be.

Goodmorning grannies, hot weather has arrived!Temp is heading for the 90s today
I only hope the humidity doesn't go up too much heat isn't so bad but add the humidity and that's not a good thing! No rain in sight for several days.
Goodmorning CJ so glad you found everything in it's proper place and not blown away. My umbrella wants to take off and fly in the wind! So sorry to hear the news about MIL. Sounds like she needs some help. There are times I believe DD thinks when I turned 90 I became senile!
I hope you like the new dentist. I hate changing Dr or dentist. This one does sound convenient for you
Carolyn those desserts sure sound like some good things to eat!
Mamma the watermelon sounds like a good idea. I really like good ripe melons and our Aldi store has had some very good fruit and melons. Watermelon has been ripe,sweet and juicy.
Yesterday we had company after lunch I got so sleepy I had to take a nap or do a face plant on the table! A longer nap than I thought I needed! Chef had gotten 4 items from the sale shop at the prison, things made by the prisoners. he didn't put names on them just said you ladies will have to decide that. The very first item picked up someone said that looks like Grammy, he agreed so I now have a pretty neck thingy? that looks like is gold, black and red vey Christmasy looking! It's just crocheted chain the are makes it look like beads.Today I'll just try to stay warm or cool as needed

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's warm here too, but cloudy and dark - - Maybe some rain later, sure looks like it could. I didn't turn the AC on until this morning, and had a decent night - even needed the sheet much of the night. I slept until 7 this morning - well, I wasn't sleeping all of the time, but I didn't need to get up either. I find I am having to lay on my right side more as the left shoulder hurts so much - the right one does too, just not nearly as much. When my back gets tired, it's time to roll!
CJ, sorry to hear that the next move has come for DMIL - - Is this another part of the place she is in now, or a completely new place? I'm sure she is fighting, but you know it is the safe route to go and has to be done, like it or not. I guess I thought it was an AL place that she was in now. I wish I could say she will adjust just fine, but we know she will fight you every step of the way.
Carolyn, you will be baking up a storm this week - - I wish I could say that I still enjoy baking, but I have found that I have little desire to do it anymore.
Mamma, you seem to have come up with a good plan on your trips to the doggie area. I hope it continues to work out well for you. Enjoy your watermelon - it sounds so refreshing.
Ellie, like you, not much planned for the day and will just take it as it comes. I do need to get the garbage ready to go to the curb, but my neighbors will roll it down for me. Then my pill boxes need to be refilled again, otherwise, it will be take it as it comes.
Laurie - I'm sure that AL was so pleased that you came and went to church with him. Nicest FD gift you could give him, I'm sure in his opinion.

I really liked the new dentist....very friendly place. I wish we had been going there for a long time already.
Greenback...the place she is in, does not have assisted living too. She has a very nice little apartment. The new facility is assisted living, memory care and nursing home care. This place you can move to the next step when the time comes. DH & his brother don't want her somewhere where they will say, it's time to put her in another type of care then they have to scramble to find a place. This one is all in one...just move to the next care level. She hasn't mentioned it anymore...so I'm thinking she has forgotten all about the conversation her sons had with her. The move will be a much smaller unit...just one room with bed, a sitting area with one or maybe two chairs and a small table. And the bathroom. I know she will feel like she is in jail. She won't be able to take much of any of her things.
Mamma...we love watermelon too. And the ones I've gotten lately are so sweet. I buy the regular size and it lasts us the week.
Elle...enjoy your lunch out. Let me know what you had and how it was. DMIL will get three meals a day at the assisted living place. I doubt she will eat much though. She is very picky. She won't have a stove to cook anything, which we don't want her operating a stove....just a microwave and half size fridge. Where she is now, there is a breakfast nook and she gets one meal a day, which she gets the noon meal. She has never used the breakfast nook and usually doesn't eat much of her one meal. She pile up in her fridge till DH or DBIL clean it out and get rid of the old stuff.

Grammy...I was leery of changing dentists but glad we did. And now I need to find a new primary care Dr as mine retired and the office she was in has dispersed. The office did send out a list of their Drs and where they are now...so I will just have to choose one and make an appt for a wellness visit so I can get my prescriptions filled.

I'll finish my cleaning today I'm into the lemon pattern Got some new items for my kitchen Dry mat, dishwasher magnet & rugs Hope to get more I'll put them out for my inspection next week Oh how I hate them Big wigs are coming to check out all the apartments.
CJ It's a very hard decision DH had to make to move his mom to assisted living. I had to put my dad in a nursing home. That's the best place for her.
Elle How nice of your friend to invite all of you to have lunch with her.
Jane I turned my AC on this morning. Going to be on all week with temps. in the 90's I've had it on a few times Summer has arrived.
Grammy It's going to be HOT here too Thank goodness for AC
Laurie I had dry socket once It's no fun
Mamma I'm having Christina take me to the grocery store Watermelon on sale here Not buying a whole one though Eggplant, tomatoes & watermelon are my favorite produce for the summer.
