Good Morning....
It's downright cold here. Brrrr. I refuse to turn the heat on though. I'll just bundle up today...LOL
Yesterday afternoon it got kind of windy and I think that was bringing in the cold air. The kids stopped by yesterday afternoon to have DH check out their new bikes and to do a little tune up on them. I thought I'd have a little extra time with Penny and Teddy, but when they got here, my neighbors grandkids came and Penny and their grand daughter are best friends...so off they went to play in the back yard. I did play with Teddy though...so I did get some "Teddy" time.
I'm thinking of making soup for supper. This weather is making me think that would be a good idea. A southwest chicken and bean soup.
Tomorrow should start to get back to normal with possibly 90's by the end of the week. Crazy weather.

 This morning I didn't have as much back pain as I have had so I am happy and feel that each day will be better. We did however take the golf cart to the pet area. I didn't want to have a set back walking on the uneven path.
Last night Karen and I enjoyed out meals at the Golden Corral and even sat there for an hour just chatting. Then we had a cocktail here and chatted for another hour. Around 8:30 Mandy let me know that it was time to hush and get her out to go potty. She was none too subtle either. Anyway it was a very enjoyable evening.
Today I have to get the floors cleaned. Annie will do her job and I will be very careful and scrub the floors. I'm not pushing my luck or my body today. Right now I have a load in the washer and most will go in the dryer, and some on my lines on the porch. That is all that I plan on getting done today. But that is enough.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's sunny and bright here today, but it's chilly here also - - Just 59, but hopefully, it's going to warm up nicely and we are to have some heat and humidity coming this way.
I called another guy on the bathroom lights and he said he would plan to come this afternoon. Hopefully I can get this taken care of now.
CJ, your soup sounds good and sounds like perfect soup weather for it too. Fun to see those little ones have fun with their little friends.
Mamma, what a nice evening you and your friend had. A nice meal, a nice cocktail, and most of all, nice conversation! What more could you ask for? Take it easy today and don't over do now that you are feeling better.

CJ, I got chilled just listening to you. I hope that the soup will warm you. If I could I would gladly send you some heat. Another 106ยบ day here, but this is a desert.
Jane, good luck with getting the lights fixed. I really hope that this guy will come as he said. It's so maddening when no one shows up as they said. I am frustrated that I have to find someone to do the things I can't do and then have to wait. It's bad enough I can't do the things I used to do. Oh well, I can still do some things so I should be happy with that. It really stinks that I have to pay for everything now too. But I am still very blessed.
Clothes are on the lines and in the dryer. All bras are drying so I am "hanging" free for the time being. So much cooler too. LOL I really need to order a couple more, but those things are costly and my mouth is taking up all my extra cash right now. Anyway I'm enjoying the freedom. LOL

I am home. I came home late yesterday . Had a good day. We went to Church and then lunch, Shoneys Loved it. We actually had a slice of strawberry pie. A bit expensive but we splurged. But every place Is high now. I get a military discount there. And the food was excellent. The weather was good n it is 54 here this morning. Elijah came to visit  )) love my time with him. He is growing so fast. Speaking of the time it is flying by. Almost the middle of June. My cousin invited me to 3 things this month And next. Well 4 counting the family reunion The end of July, Will have to do some baking. Hope you all are well. I am going to try to get a few things done today. Mamma glad your back is some better. |

It's cool here too, in the upper 50's and going to be in the 60's. There's no sunshine either but if it get to the mid to upper 60's I'll try to spend some time on the back deck reading and watching the birds. Exciting life, yes? LOL Last night I turned the TV on and it wasn't working. I should say Dish wasn't working. After spending nearly 1 1/2 hrs. on the phone with a tech, they're to send me a new receiver that they said can be installed by them where they are. I surely hope so. I am not "a techie." It will take 3--7 days to get here. hummmmm. Oh well, I have Hulu/roko and will still be able to watch most of the programs I usually do on my laptop screen. I'm thinking of making a pie, probably peanut butter pie. DGD is getting discharged today!! Thank you for your prayers!! God heard you!!
CJ Yes! it's cold in this part of the states. But like you said, it's going to warm up in a few days then I'll try not to complain. LOL I just might copy you and make some bean and ham soup. It sounds good.
MAMMA Yay! your back is getting better. I feel like you do about not being able to do things and having to pay for it....life changed and changes. But it always gets done and I'm thankful for that. Isn't it liberating to "let it all hang out?" Maybe I should say hang down. That's what gravity does with age. LOL
GREENBACK I hope the guy come to get the bathroom lights fixed for you. You're another one who has to wait, pay and hope it works. But thank God not every day is like that. Enjoy your nice weather.
ICOOK When you finish cleaning, you can come here. LOL Actually I don't plan to clean today. But the cleaning days come around fast!!!
CAROLYN I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and food with your family/friends. And I bet Elijah's visit was the most pleasant.

Goodmorning grannies, it's a chilly 51 out there this morning and only going to the low 60s this afternoon. A real cooldown! Summer weather is to arrive on Wed with temps of 90 and looks like those temps will hang around for awhile. Maybe I can get warmed upthen.
CJ what fun just playing with the kids. Just take time tpp enjoy spending the time with them. Any day is a soup day for me. I really like a good soup. With the AC on any day could be soup day for me. We do have a lot of cold soups during the summer time.
Mamma sounds like you had a good time with Karen good do food and and a new friend to spend time with. Just take it easy today there will always be something to wash or clean.
Greenback that's might as well let a repairman know that someone else is waiting for for the job. How much time can a courtesy call take to say sorry about today how about tomorrow.Your time is important too!
Nothing much going on here today but that's not news. My life is at the sit and read stage. That's what I spend most of my time doing. A Dgs story..she has a friend that is a missionary in Hatai.Who has a very sad story about her troubles there including the story of her dh's murder. She is home raising $$ money for the orphanage where she works. DGD put a notice on the local Facebook to say that she could bake a really good chocolate cake and would make a cake for anyone donating $100.00 or more. She had four quick responses then a couple more came in! Looks like dgd will be busy making choc. cakes

Well, it's not warming up fast enough for me today...LOL I did my treadmill time and warmed up there, but now I'm cold again. The sun keeps going in and out of the clouds. I do have some weeding to do in the area where my kitty Toby is buried...so maybe the sun will shine on me while I'm doing that.
Grammy...how awesome for your DGD to receive so many responses so quickly.
Elle...hope it warms up for you on the deck today. Glad to hear your DGD will be coming home today. Frustrating when the TV isn't working. That's a long time to have to wait. I'd go crazy as I'm not a reader. I rely on my TV in the evening. It's not on much if any, during the day.
Mamma...I was so happy to hear of your enjoyable outing with your friend. Rest your back some more today so it doesn't get worse again.
Greenback...hope those lights get taken care of today.
Icook...you get the weather I've had the day before. Glad you don't have too much cleaning to do today.
Carolyn...so nice to have those visits from your little sweetie. Sounds like you have things to look forward to for the next month or two.
Well, I need to make a quick run to the grocery for a couple things for the soup.

Good afternoon to all. Gorgeous day here, but as most of you have reported, going as high as the mid-90s later this week and humidity will accompany those temps.
Did my walk around 9:30 this morning as I first started at 8:00 with calling both the insurance and the hospital about the hospital bill we got last week for Mike's August, 2023, hospital visit! Hospital said to give them until this afternoon and call back then after she had time to research it. In the meantime, I did my walk, watered my flowers, straightened up the house, went to the gym in California, MO, for elliptical time and chair yoga class. Then back here for lunch and I made up Jane's cucumber/onion pasta salad for the first time this year and also made a coconut macadamia nut sheetpan pancake bake for our breakfasts this week. I am anxious to try it tomorrow morning!
A little before 2:00 Mike came into the house and we have been on the phone since then until now (3:30) with both the hospital and the insurance again. Hospital said insurance company requested recoupment of their original payment in March, after having paid it completely in August of last year; insurance says they have no record of having done that??!! Good grief. So, now more wait and see time. And, they won't talk to me unless Mike is present although he has asked them to mark in their notes that he gives his permission for them to discuss his finances and health with me! Believe me, they would much rather talk with me than him--he is so upset about this--I am, too, but I know I will fight it until it is made right. He just keeps mumbling about how computers are going to be the death of civilization--LOL. But, sometimes I agree with him!
Nothing on the schedule for tonight, but we have two ballgames tomorrow night--Mike will go to Amelia's in Tuscumbia, MO, and I will go to Vienna, MO, for Trinity's. Trinity has another game Wednesday night that we both will attend, then Amelia has games we will both attend on Thursday and Friday night. Mike gets his new partial plate to fill in his missing front tooth (thank goodness) on Thursday. Whew!
Elle, we are making the switch from our TV service being provided by our local utility company to YouTubeTV. The utility company, much to our dismay, announced that effective next year, they will no longer be offering TV service. So, we have been on the search for a new provider. They recommended DirectTV, which is no longer via satellite, but via YouTubeTV. I had it figured out on the living room TV, and, yesterday evening, our neighbor down the road, who is an IT person for the state brought along his teenage daughter and together, they helped us get it set up on our other three TVs. Luckily, we have smart TVs so we are able to go to the streaming service with little problem. Our across-the-road neighbors have older TVs and are quite upset about how they are going to be able to get TV service. Now if I can just remember myself how to get on all the TVs and access all the programs we built into the library of what we want to watch. And, then, pray for me, please, teach Mike how to get to his TV shows! He really hates technology! But, he was pacified when I showed him that YouTubeTV has a whole category of war movies and promised him I would teach him how to get to all of those!
Time now to call the hospital back; had to wait until now because the gal said she went on break between 3:15 and 3:30 and I got the impression that nothing comes between her and her break! Anyway, the insurance has promised us they will get this straightened out, but in the meantime I have to keep her up to date so they don't show us as owing nearly $10,000 to them! So frustrating and such a waste of my time--and Mike's today and I have a feeling it isn't resolved yet!

Good afternoon, I thought I'd posted this morning and then remembered that the power flickered and I never got back to it. The Yeti had to take his boat lift to get repaired, he bent something and tried to bend it back and voila---it now needs to be welded. I rode with and talked to #1 while I was waiting in the truck there. I forgot that I was going to be going to #1's after this weekend, he's asked to borrow my Jeep, so I'll ride back w/DIL and he will bring the Jeep down and I'll be back here by Wednesday as I have to dogsit for my brother next weekend. There are a few things I need to do while I am at his house, but they can be done by zoom, a quick drive, and bonus I'll get to go to church with Al too. We went yesterday and I will go again Sunday for Father's Day and mass is being said for mom then too. I'll not be able to stay long as I found out IL's, and BIL & his family have been invited over for Father's Day. I'm not feeling like celebrating w/ other than Al, so he who plans will be he who gets to set up, right? #2 has said they'll be here over the 4th of July, I heard the Yeti has invited people then too.
We stopped at the IL's on the way back, I am going to bite my tongue, but dang....I question choices some times. So, I will haul my butt out of bed in the morning and go to my history center meeting-yes, there are three that I am involved with in various amounts of involvement, not this busy with just one-and go see Al after. An aunt invited me to join her book club and I'll be driving back right by where they are meeting so I'll stop there and Wednesday the one I'm already in is meeting. I need to bring something for potluck for that, hmmmm. I bought some popcorn the other day, the brand is Chaos, it is drizzled w/ white and milk chocolate, yuummmmmm, maybe that'll be it?! It's busy with two groups but I am determined to get to know more people around here. Being the third house from the end of the road, it is a lot more isolated than we were in CF, so I've got to get out there as the Yeti is happy to sit home and not go anywhere.
I've got two loads of laundry on the line, ran the dishwasher and unloaded it, and cleaned the pantry up a bit. I have some dishes that I use in the summer and wanted to get them up here and not have to haul them up and down the stairs to use them. They've been washed and are in the cupboard in the pantry. The recycling got a few boxes added, some things got put in Tupperware, a can of coffee was located too as well as washing some bigger things. I should get some other stuff done, but we'll see what happens next. The laundry will come inside in a few and the clean sheets will go right on the bed. The spread needs to be washed too, that'll be Wednesday. So, there's my to-do list, now just to see what gets to-done. I'm over half done with the afghan I am making for a shower at the end of the month, so that's going well. There's always stuff to do, but I am going to take time for myself this summer too. If I don't want to do something, I won't.

Not my afternoon. The hummingbird feeder slipped out of my hands so I had to take the hose and wash all the sugar water off of the carport floor. Then Mandy got sick three times and I had that mess to clean up, scrub, and wash the rugs. Darn it, Mark wanted a dog and he isn't here to do his job. I'm stuck with everything now and I didn't want a dog. If she were more company and an affectionate dog maybe I would feel better. Yes, I'm in a lousy mood. I should just go to bed.
Elle, so sorry you hare without you Dish. But lucky to have Roku. I dropped Dish a could months ago because I couldn't find enough to watch that made $100 a good thing. I'm so happy to have Roku and can watch all my favorite old shows.
Jane, did any of your handyman show up?
Carolyn, good to hear you had a visit from the precious little one. 
Now I'm going to put myself in time out.....

MAMMA and DEBBIE I know it's late but thought I would respond to your comments regarding Dish. I have Roku and was able to watch all my favorite shows tonight. I am seriously thinking about dropping Dish and just go with Roku. I don't like change but I have a few days, or more, to make a decision. Thanks for your input!!! and suggestions.
