Windy and 55ยบ this morning, with clouds and rain on the way. It rained at some point already, everything outside is wet except the seat on my golf cart. Yay!!!!
Depending on when it rains I'm planning on picking up the steaks today or tomorrow. Drivers are bad enough in good weather and when it's raining oh dear. Driving with Jill is enough of a gamble. Dear me she is a poor driver. And I also need to call and make an appointment for a hair cut.
The ribs and kraut were so good last night, nothing left either. Before I have another meal I'll have to get some more red potatoes. I'm thinking spaghetti and cheesy bread for supper tonight.

Good Morning...
It's snowing. Looks like a snow globe out there. Very pretty.
I have a couple errands to run this morning. Might go with DH to see his mom. Tomorrow I'll need to make bread. The last recipe I used turned out pretty good...so I'll do that one again.
I survived the bean soup DH made. It was quite peppery and it was causing some issues throughout the evening. I had taken an acid blocker before the meal, but still needed a couple tums later. Not sure I'll eat anymore as that kind of thing just doesn't agree with me anymore. It was good, but it might be all his now...LOL I'm sure he is planning that for supper tonight before dividing it up and putting in the freezer. That will make for good lunches for him.
The cats and I have been watching the squirrels come to the door waiting for their peanuts. There seems to be more than the usual ones today.
Mamma...is this your rainy time of year? I'm sure it's welcome there with all the drought.
Have a great day everyone....

CJ, I couldn't eat bean soup no matter who made it. LOL Sorry it bothered your tummy. What do you plan to eat if that is on the menu tonight? No this is not really our rainy season but it seems to be the case this year. Monsoon season is from June through September, but Mother Nature will do what she wants when she wants.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Wow! It's 25 out there and sunny - Nice that the rain hasn't started yet. I hope it holds off until evening as I have a foot Dr. appt. this afternoon. I'm still sitting here in my robe and will hold of on my shower for awhile so my toes will smell fairly decent! LOL I guess it would be a good time to fill the gas tank too - been to cold, but haven't went anywhere anyway, and have no travel plans, but good to keep it full. Not much happening in my life, so nothing boring to tell you about! Mamma, glad your seat was dry for you - - Happy shopping, I know you will enjoy your steak and that the ribs & kraut hit the spot for you. CJ, I like bean soup, but I think, like you, this might have been over the top for me too. He will enjoy the lunches ahead, and you can find something you like too. I'm sure MIL will enjoy your visit.

Sun is out this morning & will be getting warmer this week. That's good. The snow will melt. Tinker has been pooping on the snow I'll be picking that up when I can finally get in there That's not a pleasant job.
More cleaning today & a load of laundry That's enough for today. Leftover soup this week for my supper.
CJ I can't eat spicy food either. I have acid reflux like you.
Jane Rain on the way for me too starting Wednesday Three days of it.

Good morning, it's cloudy but warmer. I haven't been outside, so I don't know what the real feel is. I have an appointment with my primary care doctor this afternoon. Then I might go look at carpet?? If I remember, and if I really want to. Decisions, decisions. I watched football most of yesterday and that was about my day, exciting, right? LOL
MAMMA Be safe today when out and about. Riding with others can be a challenge at times. LOL Spaghetti sounds good to me too. I made baked spaghetti and put some in the freezer but I think I ate it all. Maybe I'll make it again. Enjoy time with Jill.
CJ I like bean and ham soup but would not want it spicy either. LOL You can eat what you want when your DH has his again. Have a good visit with his DM if you go with him.
GREENBACK Has gas prices gone up where you are? They're over $3.00 a gallon and I need to fill my tank too. It's below half and I don't usually let it get that low. I plan to fill it tomorrow.
ICOOK This is definitely soup weather. I still have tomato and veggie soup in the freezer. Be safe when going out with Tinker.

Goodmorning grannies, there was a beautiful but most unusual sunrise this morning. There was pink clouds with bright yellow on the horizon! I don't ever remember seeing yellow in the sunrise amd such a bright color too. A beautiful sight on a cold frosty morning. Temp is 28 and we are heading toward a warm up after today. There is to be rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow as the warmer temps move in Thursday it is to be in the 50's!
Mamma good thing to have a dry seat for the ride with Mandy! Ribs and S, kraut sound sooo gooood! Sorry I didn't get there.
CJ bean soup might cause some rumbling in the tummy but it's something good especially with corn bread. But that does sound a bit spicy! You can tell I like most food! Hope you find MIL better today.
IC I'm a soup lover too! I caneatit for any meal. Clean up job's and not fun times for forpet owners.
GReenback hope your feet are in good condition! Nothing interesting going on here either. I do have some pants to cut to cut off for a friend that should keep me busy a little while this afternoon.

Big win for mamma. They had a lot of t-bones to choose from and I got 4 really nice ones. That will be like 8 or 9 meals or me. I also got the blueberries and apples that were on sale. I splurged and got some cinnamon crunch muffins that weren't on sale. I had a savings of over $65, total cost to me $49. I"m so happy that I didn't miss the sale. About the only meat I enjoy anymore is a grilled steak. Now for the weather to clear so I can grill a steak. Looks like that could be Wednesday.
Elle, my SIL gave me a scolding last night and told me that if I don't hear from the warranty company, that I should get a mattress. And to be comfortable for whatever time the Lord has for me. So if you want that carpet, go for it and enjoy it for as long as you can. Sounds good to me anyway. When I was coming out of Fry's grocery store I saw Jills car in the parking lot. She also has a white SmartCar, similar to mine. Hers is always dirty inside and out though. hehehe I hate getting into it, it's that dirty. And the way she drives, I prefer to drive even though I am not comfortable driving right now.
Jane, stinky toes are not allowed. LOL Jane needs happy feet.
The steaks are labeled and put in the freezer, the fruit is waiting to get washed and the muffins are calling my name. No muffins though until I eat my lunch. I'm thinking soup today, it's cold and damp, good soup weather.

Good Evening...
It's so cold and damp feeling, even though it's warmer than it has been in several days.
We had the soup for supper and it was much better. The spiciness was so much less that I actually enjoyed it and even had a little more. I love ham and bean soup...in fact I like most soups.
Hope everyone has had a good day.........be back tomorrow morning.

Good icy, rainy, chilly afternoon/evening to all. Everything is closed around here today due to ice. Apparently, it was really bad this morning. So thankful we didn't have to get out into it. We finally had a whole day at home, a real rarity for us. We worked our tails off today though, getting everything we have packed in from DMIL's house put away some where--where it is now may not be where it stays, but at least I can walk through the finished part of the basement again--don't ask about the unfinished part.
We spent the weekend on the run, got all the furniture of DMIL's donated to Habitat, I made several more trips with donations to the church thrift store. We still have lots to do, but Mike's mind is much more at ease now. We still need to get the upright freezer, small refrigerator, and her adjustable bed which is what we had requested for ourselves. Intended to do that today, but no way could we have made it up the steep hill to DMIL's subdivision of duplexes--if we made it to the main highway on the five miles of blacktop we have to travel from home first. We didn't see a single vehicle go by either from the blacktop in back of the house or the one in front of the house until after lunch. It is still raining, but it is above freezing now.
Came home Saturday night and prepared cinnamon roll dough for Trinity's birthday party yesterday afternoon. Made a triple batch--27 cups of flour, 12 cups of milk, 3 cups of sugar (just for the dough, more for sprinkling with cinnamon over the dough), about 4 pounds of butter. Refrigerated the dough overnight and took it with us when we went to church with them and then, when the party girls arrived at the fellowship hall, we rolled it out, spread it with softened butter (they thought that was either fun or gross because we washed our hands and used them, then springled (some flinging involved) cinnamon and sugar, then rolled up the batches of dough and I taught them how to use thread or dental floss to cut the cinnamon rolls cleanly. At one point, I had as many moms watching and helping as I did their daughters. I swear young women just don't have anyone to teach them how to cook anymore!
The party went well and we got home early evening and crashed. I actually slept in until 7:15 this morning and even Mike snoozed on the couch after getting up fairly early to check to see what it was doing outside and to listen to the weather.
Tomorrow, Mike has an eye doctor appointment and we hope to get our furniture items home from DMIL's as well as pack up the quilting material that has yet gone unclaimed. I will try to organize it better and then either see if it can be sold or it will be donated to quilting groups. Did I mention that the rest of the family came in, got what they want and have now disappeared. Figures, I guess. But, we will get it done and I know Mike's mom would be very proud of how he is handling things and stepping up.
Broccoli cheese soup and some of Grammy's wooden spool rolls are on our menu for supper tonight. DH is fussing at me to quit, but I have dishes to do, more things to pick up yet, he calls me the Energizer Bunny. But, I just can't sit when I have things that need to be done. But, I am reading a good book, so may read some after the kitchen is cleaned up.
DD#2 just called and said she slipped 3 times feeding their livestock tonight. A farmer's work is never done and neither is a farm wife's!
Wishing everyone a safe, warm and dry evening. Haven't heard from Laurie today, hope Al is doing better.

YES!! Debbie!! There was a time that I wasn't sure if they'd make it or not. There are still KC items in the attic that DH had. He had one room here that was all KC. Including footballs in glass cases. I've sold much of it but still have more in the attic but not at all sure what's up there. DSIL is the one who goes in my attic and he probably knows. Anyway, yes, Go Chiefs!!!

Hi everyone, it was a busy weekend, and then I had to work today. I'm tired, but supper is done, the dishwasher and dryer are going and I am finished for the night. Let's see:
Al is doing well, he has a care conference tomorrow that my brother will do by phone-they are ok with that. Stitches by his eye are out, bandages off of pacemaker site. Eating like a lumberjack and getting stronger. I'll be going up this weekend, but need to call in a bit. He's got his cell at the Good Sam Center, so I'll call in a bit. I know he wants to go home, we'll see when that can happen.
My sister's Echo came back good.
The 100th was very nice. We were there at the VFW Saturday until about supper time, then back to Mary's (his daughter). There is a spot on him on the KTTC tv station. #2 went to a friend's for the night, so I picked him up Sunday before lunch. We all went to church and coffee after where they celebrated Frank more and then went to lunch at the historic Mantorville Hubble House. #2 rode back with me last night, we got in about 9:30 pm. I took a shower, visited for a bit and went to bed as I had to leave by 7:15 this morning to go be the sub in 2nd grade. I had a great time with my friends while we were there and so proud of my kids, they all pitched in where needed.
Before the party I went to Genoa for the visitation, it was good to see everyone, but I didn't stay long as there was a long line and I didn't want to hold it up. I drove past out house in Genoa and Cannon Falls, time kept moving after we left. I did make a couple of stops-Kwik Trip, Big Lots, and a couple of other places. I'll try to post a pic of our crew with Frank tomorrow, I'm a bit tired right now. Blessed be everyone.
