At some point in time we got rain, everything was wet. But at least the seat on the golf cart was dry. Mandy wasn't too interested in doing her thing so we left after a very short try. It started to sprinkle on the way home but that was short too.
Nothing on the to do list, I did enough yesterday. I would like to have ribs and kraut for supper so I had better get the ribs out of the freezer.
Have a great day.

Good morning, Hope everyone is well and warm. I will be happy when it is warmer. Of course I could be in Florida. But rather be home and am able to take care of my house. I had a wonderful visit with my Elijah. He didn't get to stay long but he was just grinning at me. I love him so much but didn't hug, or hold him. That was tough love. He is really growing So fast almost 10 months. One of my DGSs is 41 today. I think I will cook some eggs. I had Fritos for supper. Mamma, I ate some kraut this morning, guess That was a appetizer Supposed to be good for digestion. Take care. ❄️❄️

Good Morning...
We made it to church this morning. Now I'm enjoying my coffee and toast.
Not much on my agenda today. I have some hamburger to freeze in 1/2 lb packets. A really good sale at our local IGA yesterday....5# bag of gr chuck for 2.99 a lb. I always watch for their sales.
The Detroit Lions play this afternoon, so I'll be watching that.
Mamma...what kind of ribs do you make? Mine are usually baby back ribs...they are always meaty and tender. Never had kraut with them.
Carolyn...glad you got to see your sweetie yesterday. My DS#2 will be 41 on Saturday. Oh my how time flies.
Have a great day...........we are up to 20* already...heat wave.

CJ, yes they are baby back ribs. I won't eat them without the kraut. Remember I'm not a big fan of pork or meat for that matter. I always have a potato with this meal. One bite has all three components in it to get the meat down. LOL I need protein but will not eat lentils of any kind. Church on line for me in the winter. Once the birds leave I'll go back to in house.

Goodmorning grannies, it was 14 earlier this morning so I decided to stay home again today. Temp is now22* not getting much warmer this afternoon.Best for mature ladies to be inside when it's cold and snowy out there. Lots of things could happen and I would be one more thing for someone to take care of.
Mamma ribs and sour kraut sound great to me! If you have enough I'll come for supper! I'll even bring my own cool whip bowl. We don't have that very often not a favorite with the kids and too much salt for my diet. Mamma, if you don't like meat just have lots of veggies and cook the meat you like now and then.
Carolyn must have been nice to see the little one again but hard not to give him smoochies
CJ good idea to buy in quantity at the sale price and then freeze in smaller amounts for use.I used to brown some ground beef then freeze that in smaller amounts for just me. I could make a quick meal. You mean you never had sour kraut and pork!! I always made mashed potatoes to go with it.The potatoes on the plate then the S. kraut and pork on to of that. Yummm
This is Kathy's birthday she is 13 today and wishing for pierced ears but I don't think that will happen soon. She still has a tantrum when she has to get a shot! No shopping trip with her this time but she wanted a leather (fake) jacket dd did some shopping for me so she will have one. We can go to lunch another day.Other GP will be here for lunch and birthday cake.
Great day with all of DD #2 family yesterday. It's always good to have them all together but so hard to find the time for all of them. Christmas gift from #2 was 3 cardigan sweaters! #1 had given me 3 sweaters for Christmas and just before that I hade bought 3!! Ihad mentioned that most of mine were old and tired now I could wear a different one every day!!

I couldn't get on here this morning. Site said there was an angry bear. Last day of really cold temps. Tomorrow a high of 36* That's a small improvement. Later in the week in the 40's I'll take that I'm finishing up on cleaning today. Making a big pot of beef soup that's cooking in my big crock pot. I'll be eating that at night most of the week for my supper.
CJ I got a good deal on hamburger this past week $2.88 a lb. I bought almost 5 lbs. That will last me quite a while. I'm always looking for specials.

Grammy...yes I've had sauerkraut with pork chops many times, just never with ribs. I love kraut so I know it would be good. Glad you had a good time yesterday and now you should be good and warm every day. Happy Birthday to Kathy. It's hard to believe these girls are growing up. I remember when Soraya was born and then Kathy came.
Icook...I had the same problem with the site this morning.
It's very sunny here. Even blinding when looking out the window.
DH is making supper. He's got a concoction going with beans, spicy sausage, onions, peppers, tomatoes, spices and who knows what else. He added a lot of cajun spice. It smells good but I had a little taste and oh my is it ever spicy and peppery. Not sure I'll be able to eat it. My mouth was on fire after just a little spoonful taste. I might be eating cereal...lol

Good Afternoon Ladies - - - It's almost 2:00PM and I am just getting here. I did brave it and go to church, since I was down to greet. It wasn't the cold that I was concerned about, but the snowy patches in the lot. I was slow and careful and made it to my car and back again. I put in an order for KS before I left for church and then picked it up on my way home. First breakfast sandwich I have had for awhile. They did get my order a little mixed up, with one thing out of stock and then I got charged for 6 plain cake donuts that I didn't get. Had a quick breakfast when I got home and then the Hawkeye gals played an early game, so that's when I headed - my chair and my blanket. Sadly we lost in overtime. Mamma, your dinner tonight sounds good. I like pork and kraut but usually when I do ribs, I make them BBQ and then don't think of the kraut so much. Good with pork roast too. They are talking rain for us this week too - depending on the temp. Now, that will be a real mess with all of the snow. Carolyn, glad you got to see your little buddy - Glad he was happy to see you, and didn't forget while you were gone and sick. I know how hard it is not to love on them. CJ, glad you made it to church today also - I think your dinner tonight sounds good, but I have trouble with the lining of my mouth burning if something is to hot too. I like the flavor, just not the results. Grammy, two big celebrations in one weekend. I'm sure you had a lovely time yesterday and another fun time today. Hard to believe 15 and how fast they are growing up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHY! She will enjoy the jacket and you both can look forward to lunch out when it is nicer.. IC, A pot of soup is always welcome. I try to stick lots of veggies in whatever kind I make just to get more of them in my diet. I often don't fix them and just have whatever, even though I like most veggies. Well, if I keep moving, maybe I can find a little time for a snooze. Not the best night last night!

Just checking in, nothing new or exciting here. LOL It's another cold day but the sun is shining and that makes me happy. I fed the birds, took a nap and that's about all I did today. Now I'm watching football and will the rest of the evening. I enjoy sauerkraut with caraway seeds. It's not one of my favorites but ok now and then. I've never had it with ribs or pork chops, mom always fixed it with smoked sausage and boiled or fried potatoes. Tomorrow I see my GP and hope that goes well.
Not much more here for now, enjoy the rest of the day Grannie friends.

We ate sour Kraut and ribs quite often as a kid. My whole family liked it. But Mark wouldn't allow it in the house if he was home. LOL I would have it when he was out of state at school or gone fishing for the weekend. He really hated the smell.
This morning Jill and I went to Bath and Body works. I had a coupon for 20% and a coupon for any body product for free. I was very pleased. It rained all the way there and back. In fact the rain didn't stop until around 1:40. That is when Mandy and I went down for her afternoon duty. Which was a waste of time. Now she is out of luck until tonight.
I need to get busy straightening out this room but can't figure out where or how to start. I hate the lack of storage here. Oh how I miss our previous home. Nope I promised myself no pity party today. I did enough of that yesterday. Today is a new day. But the gloomy weather is fighting my smiles. hehehehe Elle, I won't touch sour kraut with caraway seed in it. If I don't have ribs I'll put in some "good" wieners". By good I mean natural casing not the stuff sold around here that are just pre-chewed as I call them, and packaged as wieners. I haven't had a good hot dog since my sister in law brought some down here from MN for me a few years ago.
Grammy, how nice to have so many nice sweaters to choose from now. You can stay warm and stylish too.
Jane, every time you mention Kwik Stop i could cry. I so miss the Kwik Trip we had in my home town. None down here. There are never sales in any of the convenience stations either. I'm very happy to hear you made it to and from church safely.
Mandy is now on the porch and I'm still just sitting here. But then I did say I was taking the day off, didn't I?
