Good Morning....
Another cold morning at 5*. I think it's to stay in the single digits today. Schools have cancelled, mostly because of the back road conditions for buses.
Not much on my agenda today. I know there are lots of things to do but not sure I want to start something that I know I would have to finish....LOL
Coffee is ready....and I still have the never ending Christmas cookies. DH says he's done eating them.
Have a great day...........

Good Morning Ladies - - - Just sitting her enjoying the sunshine and my second cup of coffee - excuse me, while I reach for one of CJ's Christmas cookies - - - It's still below 0, a -10 to be exact, but I haven't checked the wind chill factor. I see on FB that there are still lots of accidents and slippery roads and some not cleared to good yet. I had a phone call about going out for breakfast today, since there were only 2 others of the coffee group, but I turned it down and happy to stay put. Yesterday I made the baked oatmeal and washed up the dishes from that and those that were on the counter. I will cut and dish up the oatmeal and get half of it in the freezer today. I haven't hit the shower yet, waiting to have my second cup of Joe first. CJ, the last I knew our schools in the area were all 2 hours late for this morning. I didn't see anything about cancelling so it must be on. Not much on my agenda today either but I am sure I could find plenty if I tried. I'm thinking it would be a good time to sort my receipts from last year and have that much done when I get at the taxes - will see if it happens or not. That cookie was so good, I think I will have another - - - DH better be careful or you won't make more!!!

Good morning. This morning Mandy and I were out earlier than yesterday. So by 7:30 we were back home and I was enjoying my second cup of coffee. I started a load of laundry just before I sat down with the cup and now that is dried, put away and some hanging on the line outside to dry. My work is done.
It looks like the wind has picked up since this morning. But we should hit 70º this afternoon. The rest of January looks like 70's each day, then back into the 60's for February.
Yes, good idea Jane, stay home where it's warm and your footing is much better. Snow and ice can be so dangerous.
IC, my Christmas cookies that are left are in the freezer. I'm now eating chocolate chip cookies. Next will be a sugar cookies that I hope to sprinkle with red sugar for Valentines Day. My meager Valentine decorations are up now too.
Lunch today will be a chef salad of sorts and supper will be fried chicken. The greasier it is, the easier for me to swallow. LOL

Goodmoring grannies it's still cold and breezy here with less than an inch of snow. Temp was 8 this morning and not getting much warmer. Only supposed to go to about 12. Our game day and Bible Study for tomorrow have been cancelled. Just to cold and snowy for old ladies to be out if they don't need to be. I'll watch the birdies and read on the Kindle for today.
CJ cookies would be good with a cup of coffee this afternoon. Freeze them then when the cooking craving sets in you will be ready!
Greenback, inside is the best place to be on a day like this! The baked oatmeal sounds good. I haven't had that for a long time.I need to make some when I get back upstairs! That would make a good breakfast.
IC sorry you can't get out today but better to be safe. Sorry to hear that your car is needing another trip to the garage. Stay in and stay warm those are the important things today.
My arm is slowly improving it's still hurts but not nearly as bad as it did! No plans for the day other than sit here doing nothing again. Another day or two of resting it should help. I have been sleeping in the lift chair. Last night I got back into my bed..a couple of hrs later I was still awake so I moved back to the chair and slept well ther. Needed that chair to get my arm is a comfortable place.

It's 10* here now and going a little higher, but not much. I don't pay attention to the schools so I don't know if they're in session or not. I do not plan to go out today. It's still cold and a warm up starting tomorrow. Bring it on! I am ready for spring. I will go to the mailbox and get my mail. I have no plans, I've thought about making soup and/or baking cookies but not sure if I'll do either one. I could also do some deep cleaning but that's no fun. LOL
CJ I have cookies in my freezer too. I like having them in case someone comes unexpectedly. Put the coffee pot on, the cookies and we're ready to visit. LOL How did it go with your DMIL yesterday? When will you have Teddy and Penny again?
GREENBACK You're right, it's tax time again. I got my info from SS yesterday and I think there's another one, (pension) in my mailbox today. I'm always glad when that is over although I haven't had to pay for several years. Stay safe today. I bet you'll find something to do. Make it a pleasant one!
MAMMA You've already done a days work. I haven't done one thing except enjoy my coffee and cereal. And I might not do much more either. I should make some phone calls but not sure if that will get done either. I would love your 70* weather.
GRAMMY It's so good to know the arm is giving you less pain. I hope it ends soon. No person likes pain. And sitting and not being able to do something gets old quickly. Wouldn't it be nice if someone could get us on a video at a given time so we could all chat together? I'm not a techie and wouldn't know how to do it. I saw Junco at my feeder yesterday. They were eating the fallen finch seed. I haven't seen them for years.
I think I'll bundle up and head to the mailbox. We did get a good coating of snow last night so I'll dig out my boots. Enjoy the day and be safe everyone.

Grammy...all my Christmas cookies are in the freezer, so I just take some out once in a while to put in the container on the counter. We are both getting tired of them, so they'll stay in the freezer till we are ready for more.
Elle...DMIL has been good lately. Although we did notice a change in her around Christmas and thought she might have that UTI again and sure enough, had the dr come see her and she did have it. Back on the antibiotic and she's acting much better now. We now know what to watch for in her behavior and act on it quickly. We'll have the kids on Friday. They are home today because of the snow/temps and DD said they are doing fine with working with them there. She sent me a picture of Teddy playing at the train table they have. He loves trains. The next pic she sent, he was under the train table...LOL...I said the train must have derailed..LOL
Icook...glad that Christina could cancel and reschedule your appt.
Mamma...you were up and out early this morning. I love fried chicken...I usually do it in the oven using chicken thighs...much more tender and juicy. 70* sounds wonderful to me.
Greenback...Our schools never do a delayed day. It's either school or no school.
Guess I'll venture out back to fill the bird feeders. Haven't seen the squirrel in a few days. Guess it's too cold to come out of that nest.

Hi everyone, Big show here and 9 degrees. I am so thankful for electricity and water and all of the necessities. I want to bake something but haven't made the effort. I cooked breakfast and did some laundry. I came home Friday and haven't been out since. No place to go. And, that is all good. I want to also start another crochet afghan. Maybe run my Christmas gift today, the robot vacuum. Take care and stay warm. ❄️❄️

I really don't know what got me moving but I've taken down the sheers in the living room and dining room washed all the wooden blinds and dusted the window sills and frame. Now the sheers are in the washer and I'm going to wash the windows. Not sure how clean the windows will look since I have run out of umph on my arms. The front windows may be the only ones that get done today. That being said the sheers will go in the dryer, it's easier. Everything was so dusty that I'm sneezing up a storm. The sheers didn't look that dirty but boy oh boy were they dusty. But they have been up for a year, so they were more than due for a good washing. I'll wash the patio door curtains and bedroom curtains tomorrow or more than likely Thursday. Tomorrow Jill and I are going to Bath and Body Works, so I'll take some time off from cleaning and give my body works a rest. I think I can safely say I wore off some of my coffee cookies. Sunny and 69º right now, with a gentle breeze.

Mamma...you are getting your spring cleaning done. I go in spurts like that, too. Feels good when you can sit back and be happy about all you got done.
Carolyn...glad you are home. Have you seen the baby yet? Enjoy the Roomba.
We will have the kids tomorrow as school has already been called off. I can only think it is the road conditions on the back country roads and the buses can't get through safely. Anyway...I don't mind having them. They are easy...just want to play and I can do that.

Good evening to all. It is bitter cold here and I have a bitter cold--again! Just feeling miserable, I think it is allergies as I sneeze often and sneeze so hard, I startle anyone else in the room. I even sneezed while sleeping last night and woke myself up! I went to the couch at 3:30 as I was so plugged up I couldn't breathe laying down. Fell asleep there around 4; Mike woke me up when he got up at 6:15 and I crawled into bed and slept until 7:30.
Today, I had both a haircut and a dentist appointment. Mucinex calmed the congestion and sneezing enough for me to accomplish both those things. In fact, they way they laid me back in the dentist chair with my feet up and the warmth of the bright flexible light over my face, I felt better than I had in a few days!
We loved having the boys over the weekend. They are easy keepers, but, oh my, do they eat and drink! We were so busy, I didn't cook all that much, but they never went hungry or thirsty--LOL! A pitcher of tea had to be refilled to make it through one meal! On Saturday, we took them to Drew's two ballgames that were still held even in below zero temps/windchills. On Sunday, we went to DMIL's duplex and worked them quite a bit going through things, moving stuff and organizing. Then, back on Monday to do more of the same. They had no school today, either, mainly because, like our new truck, the diesel fuel is jelling in the buses with the extreme cold. We weren't able to take our truck and trailer to DMIL's to load up what we are inheriting because our truck's fuel was trying to jell up. But, we still got a lot done and DD#2 came in both Sunday and Monday and we somehow managed to get through all her quilting room. Oh my, the fabric, the patterns, the strips, the squares, the layer cakes, the jelly rolls (I learned those are quilting terms, but it made me hungry talking about them). Multiple cabinets full of thread, accessories, a closet filled with everything you can think of. We pitched some things that we determined couldn't be of further use (older/smaller binding pieces, etc.) and moved the rest to the garage to deal with later. We bought pizza for everyone and ate on the kitchen floor as everywhere else was too crowded. This is turning out to be a Mike only ordeal as two of his siblings came in Saturday and got what they wanted (which is great), but left a big mess and seem to have no interest in coming back to help with all that is left. And, we have to be out of there by January 31. Good thing we are not working right now.
Busy rest of the week, too. I have an annual checkup with my heart doctor on Thursday and, today, we managed to get Mike an appointment at the renowned Columbia Orthopedic Group that same day to have his knee x-rayed and determine what is going on with that. I also have a baby shower on Saturday morning where, instead of gifts, we are to bring a frozen meal for the family and Trinity will be celebrating her birthday (which is Thursday) with a party at their church hall after church on Sunday and she is doing a cooking party. DD has purchased small pizza crusts and will have pepperoni, sausage and burger and assorted cheeses for them to make their own pizza and is getting small frosting bags for them to frost their own cupcakes and I am going to take already made cinnamon roll dough, let the girls roll out the dough, put on the butter. cinnamon and sugar and we will put those in little pans (I still need to get those) and let them rise and bake while they are doing pizza, cupcakes, opening presents, etc. Frost them warm from the oven and they will be going home with each participant along with a packet of hot chocolate as the party favor. I have been informed that there will be 21 little girls and assorted parents--yikes! DD#1 never does anything on a small scale. Speaking of which, you can look at her Facebook page (I think most of you know her name) and see many pictures of their special times and travels this weekend. They had a special time, just the three of them.
Need to figure out what to warm up for supper and then unpack some boxes of miscellaneous stuff we brought home from DMIL's. One of these days. I hope to rest!
Glad to hear that Carolyn is home, Grammy's arm is some better, hope Al is doing better, too. Glad all of you are making it through the snow and cold.
Hope to be back somewhat more regularly, but then I don't seem to be adopting any routine these days. Stay safe and warm!
