Good morning. With the freezing cold temps you have, I'll not share our temp. It's not warm enough for me but not as cold as y'all. Mandy and I had to take the car this morning since the golf cart was blocked in by the car. The cart was on the charger over night. All vehicles are now where they belong.
Yesterday afternoon I went over to Jills for about an hour. She was in a bad way. She needed to be reassured that she was loved and needed. Her sister is so awful to Jill and makes her feel so incompetent and stupid. From the sounds of it her husband has no voice in anything and she looses employees like crazy. So sad that there are people with no empathy and so controlling. Anyway by the time I left Jill was smiling and not crying. We went out for supper too and laughed a lot. We always enjoy each others company and are very good for one another.
No big plans for today. Jill and I may take the dogs for a tootle around the park today but that is it. The park is so full that the back acre looks like a whole other city. I stay away from that area, lots of party people staggering around. LOL We only drove around the outskirts after we got back from supper.
Speaking of supper, we went to AppleBees and it was so packed that I didn't want to go in there. I wish we hadn't because my whole meal was too cold for me to finish eating it, and I was not enjoying being there. Although I did have a good time with Jill. But I won't do it again when a place is that busy. Too many people for me to be comfortable. That's just the way it is this time of year. Oh well, at least we got out.

Goodmorning grannies, a cold 2* this morning it has warmed up to 5* now with a little sunshine to help we might make it to double digits today.
Nothing on my schedule other than rest the arm as much as possible and use the ice pack on it. That's my plan for the day

We are now up to 3*. Not planning to go out anywhere. DH will go to see his mom, but I'll stay here. She does like it when I come along, although I really can't talk much to her since she can't hear. She does most the talking any way and I nod my head from time to time. She is very sweet and does appreciate all the help we give her. I'm glad she is able to live where she is and not in a nursing home.
I think I'll make ribs today. Need to get them out of the freezer and thawed out in the microwave. Last night I made pizza and it turned out good.
Mamma...so glad you and Jill are there for one another and can enjoy time together. It sure helps to get through some long days. My Mesa friends are enjoying sun and blue skies with temps in the low 60's. Better than here by a long shot.
Grammy...have you been to the doctor about your arm pain? Sure hope it gets better soon.
About ready to clean the bathroom and then have some lunch. Have a great day everyone.....

CJ It's warmer here than what you have. 24* with snow on the way for tonight & tomorrow. Probably just enough snow that I'll have to cancel me eye drs appt for tomorrow morning My next eye surgery is next Wednesday. I have appts. every day that Christina comes this month Can't wait for this month to be over.
Just put a load of laundry in the dryer. I'll get my long handled duster out & dust the hard to reach areas this week.

Hello Ladies! It's still morning, but almost noon so will skip the usual greeting. My day is just a little off kilter - - I had a 9:15 appt at the foot Dr. and I got up around 7:30 so I could call and cancel that as I just am not comfortable going out there yet. There is snow and in some places, ice and I didn't want to walk in the parking lot. I did check with google as to the temp and it was -29 with the wind chill, so probably didn't have any business being out in that either. After the call I went to my chair to try to snooze a little as it was another sleep deprived night, and I didn't nap yesterday either. Took a little to go back to sleep and when I woke up again it was 10:15. So here it is noon and I am just finishing up breakfast with my second cup of coffee. Coffee is a good thing today - The furnace sure wants to run a lot! Laurie & Carolyn, I sure hope you are both feeling better today. CJ, I'm sure your MIL does look forward to seeing you - another pretty face and smile for her, especially when she won't go out and mix with the others. I wonder if a lot of that is because she can't hear them? She has probably gotten so use to shying away from everyone when she doesn't hear what's going on, that she has just gotten comfortable in her own little world. Mamma, sorry the meal was such a disappointment last night. Would it help if you went at an odd time? Often in the middle of the day it is much calmer is those places. I know a lot of people do go early to try to just do two meals a day. Hope you gals have a nice little cruise today. Grammy, I hope you can rest that arm and get it back to feeling better soon. Are they still bring your meals down to you? Maybe if it isn't improving soon, you should go back to the Dr. and have them look at it again and see if there was something they missed earlier. IC, I hope you can get to your appointments and that Christine will stay well enough to get you to them. Don't worry about a little dust - if you get it fine, and if not, I don't think the health Dept. will be in that soon. You need to do, what you need to do, first! I have been waiting to hear how the trip went for Debbie's family - the boys must be keeping her busy.

Heat wave here, 10*. It was -3* when I got up this morning. Baby, it's cold outside! Thank God the furnace, water, etc. works. I slept in until after 8:00 this a.m. It felt good. After a shower, breakfast and a few other things, I went to the lab and had blood drawn. I see my GP next week then about a week or so later, have a stress test. I've been on the phone trying to get appointments set up for a CT scan and appointment with the pulmonary/cardiovascular Dr. Follow up appointments. Not a real busy day work wise, just consuming with the phone and medical things. Prayer meeting for tomorrow is cancelled! Yay!
MAMMA You're a good help and friend for Jill. And it seems you're both good for each other. Does Mandy have a special seat in the GC?
GRAMMY Ouch! I hope you get relief from the pain real soon! I haven't done this, but I've wondered if a rice bag could be frozen and used when needed. I use the rice bag for heat and sure do like it.
CJ I'm sure your DMIL appreciates and enjoys it when you and your DH visit her. I know you both care for her and she holds a special place in her heart for you. My DF and DMIL both were in nursing homes, and I hated it for them.
ICOOK I don't use my long-handed duster as often as I should. But it's time I get it working again. I saw some webs the other day. LOL
GREENBACK My furnace runs a lot too, but I'm so thankful that it's working. I've been opening the doors under the kitchen/bathroom sinks before going to bed and letting the water drip during the night. I've read that water pipes are freezing, and I don't want that. I don't blame you for not going out, it is terribly cold and it's to be colder tomorrow by a degree or two.

Yes, Ellie, I have heard that about the pipes freezing too. I guess there's no reason I couldn't open the doors and let the heat in, but I don't like to think about letting the faucets drip overnight. Our water bills are amazing the way it is, and it's really not the water that is so high, it's the sewer rates and garbage too. Well, I'm off to the kitchen to make a pan of oatmeal - have the last of it today, and I really do like it. I don't have coffee creamer to add this time, but I will be generous with the vanilla and my receipe doesn't call for that, but it's a good addition.

GREENBACK I totally agree with you about the water bill. It's like that for me too, it isn't the water cost that makes my bill high, it's the sewer, etc. that they add on. My garbage pickup is on that bill too. Stay warm!

GRAMMY Understand, pain is no fun!!! But I know you have a good massage therapist. Sleep well, and I hope you wake up with a lot less pain, no pain.
