Good morning, there is coffee if you want some, as well as two Kwik Trip Glazers. First come, first served.
I got in last night, it was a very busy weekend. On the way down to the cities, my sister called and told me Al fell at home, so I'll give you the short version. He called my brother-refused an ambulance. He's got a sore back and a whopper of a black eye, glasses took a hit too. One stitch and some glue to close a cut. Scans, checks, observations, getting a pacemaker this morning. Decision was made for me to stay where I was as things were stable and I came back that way and spent some time with him and checked in by phone. Got dinner ordered for him before I left, as well as getting his electric razor figured out, he's been keeping the nurses entertained. I'll be going back in a bit, to get there before the procedure, his primary doc is to be doing rounds before clinic.
The shower was very nice, they have wonderful friends. It was funny when we put pics up of them as babies how similar some of the settings were-by the brick fireplace that looked almost identical, both on a ride at a carnival, similar couches, etc. It was good to see everyone, it was an open house type situation so people came and went.
I'll BBL, blessed be everyone.

Good Morning....
The snow we got yesterday is melting as the temps are rising. Tomorrow morning we should have new snow that is coming with this winter storm moving through. It should be all done by afternoon. I'm hoping the roads will be good by Wednesday morning. We take our friends back to the airport early that morning.
Lauriet...sorry to hear that Al fell. So scary when they are alone. Glad he was able to call your brother and the care he needed was given. Sounds like the baby shower was a success...now the waiting begins for that little one to arrive.
The roast I made yesterday sure did hit the spot. That will be supper tonight too. And I had a few rolls left from Christmas, in the freezer, that I got out.
I vacuumed yesterday but forgot to swiffer under the furniture and bed. So I'll do that today. And my new calendar should be here today...at least that's what one email said...then a while later the date was changed. So we'll see if it really does come today.
Have a great day everyone......

Good morning, Sun shining here in South Carolina and it is 29. I have made banana pudding for the kids, this morning. There was some bananas needing to be used. My grandson is doing the low carb diet so I have been making him some food for it. He works such long hours. Making a cauliflower salad, deviled eggs, slaw and ham. Yesterday I made the chicken taco soup, it is really good. I cut my finger slicing chicken and it bled more than a hour. It Is very sore today. Did I say I am going home Friday ? I may never leave home again. I am treated so good here but there is no place like home. Hope all of you are well.

Good morning. In a word, it's cold. I'm so thankful Mandy was quick again. Then I come home and the smell of pot that permeated from the neighbors porch to mine. I couldn't get in the house fast enough. Now I know why she is so strange. LOL And I do mean strange!!! Her husband is as normal as can be, and does very little with her, she is a very weird bird. Pot is legal here and those that come here, from other states, love that. Me, not so much. The smell gives me a hellacious headache.
Time to bake cookies again. This time every day cookies and not time intense ones like for Christmas. Maybe chocolate chip. Not much else planned for the day.
CJ, I do hope that your calendar is in your mailbox today.
Laurie, wow, too much excitement. So happy to hear that Al was able to reach help. I worry about falling all the time. I could lay there for days and no one would know.

Goodmoning grannies, it's another day just like the other ones! Clouds and no sun in the forecast for days. Maybe I shouldn't complain so much we are not getting the snow that some are getting. Temp is at 32 now and going to 38 this afternoon.
Laurie sounds like our future grannie is getting excited about joining the grannie group soon! It's great to love them spoil them then send them home with mom and dad. So sorry to hear that Al took a nasty fall hope he is able to be up and busy again very soon. Falling is one of my big concerns I do try to be very careful.
CJ sounds like you have a few things to keep you busy today! No snow for us! Pot roast is not often on the menu here. I would be so good..Chef and dgd are busy searching out good and different things when I would like some good old eatin'
Mamma wish I could be there when those cookies come from the oven....ummmm. Chilly mornings are reason enough for Mandy to get the job done quickly! I would like the smell of pot either. Guess the windows will stay closed today. It's legal here also but no close neighbors.
Not much planned for today just take it easy with the sore arm. The bruise it huge but no worse this morning so maybe I get a pass for a Dr visit today. The arm is still sore but the day of rest might help it heal. Typing is a little hurtful so time to move

Good morning from sun-less Ohio. It isn't raining or snowing and I don't think there's much wind out there either. The calm before the storm maybe? LOL Yesterday was nap and football day for me. Not exciting but today is another day. It's game day so my afternoon should be full. The big holidays are over and now it's time for me to settle into the new year. What will it bring?? I'm glad I don't know, good or bad, I can't change it, only change myself, right? LOL
LAURIE So sorry about the fall! I hope surgery goes well. The shower sounds like a ton of fun.
CJ I hope the package gets to your house to day. Mail is unpredictable. Enjoy the roast!
CAROLYN Ouch! I hope the finger heals quickly. Are you on blood thinners? I know that contributes to excessive bleeding at times. I agree, no place like home but it's good to get away too, then we appreciate home that much more. LOL
MAMMA Call me naive, but to my knowledge, I've never smelled pot. I've been told it smells like skunk? anyway, now you know why your neighbor is like she is. Hugs and strength for you!! I'll be happy to test-taste your cookies. LOL
GRAMMY I do hope the bruise/sore arm will heal quickly. I understand wanting to skip the Dr. visits!! But sometimes they're needed. I too like the meals like mom served. I wonder, does anyone have mashed potatoes, meat, veggie and salad anymore? I don't think my kids do and they were raised with it too. Times/people do change. You take care!!!!

Good Morning Ladies - - - No sunshine here - - for now, just wind and a snow advisory. It is suppose to start later this afternoon and continue until Wed. morning. I will run down to KS and pickup bread, milk and maybe a few potatoes. I forgot the potatoes when I got groceries and I like to get my milk and bread at KS. I will be good to go then and will just stay tucked in. I have already deceided that I won't be going to coffee tomorrow, so that won't be a disappointment. I just can't risk it anymore. Laurie, so sorry to hear about Al and glad your DB could handle things. I was really surprised when you said the pacemaker today. The one's here that have been getting them have had a lot of hoops to jump through before it happened. Glad the shower was great and so happy you got to spend time with them and their friends. CJ, bet you are looking forward to your new calendar. I know I enjoy having mine right here beside me. Hope it will be okay when you take the friends back to the airport and I bet they are looking forward to getting out of there again. Carolyn, sorry to hear about your finger - Sometimes the little cuts are the most difficult. I'm sure you are ready to go home again, but I can see why they don't want you to leave with all the goodies that you have been making. Mamma, like Ellie, I wouldn't know what the smell is. I'm sure I have smelled it somewhere in my travels, but am not aware of it or could tell you who or where. Enjoy your cookies. Grammy, I'm sure that roast is a treat at your house - at the price of it and the size of your family, I'm sure it doesn't get served often. Nothing better than mashed potatoes and gravy, but the potatoes and carrots and onion cooked with the roast is mighty fine as well. Rest that arm! Ellie, most likely the mashed potatoes served these days are the instant ones. They do in a pinch, but the real thing is better and certainly not hard to peel potatoes. I have a friend that thinks she has really had to do something if she peels 5 lbs. of potatoes. I don't make them often since I am just 1, but I don't mind reheating them either. I usually peel a few extra when I do make them for company. My son loves them, as long as there is gravy - wonder where he got that? LOL Well, I had better move along - get a few things done and put my KS order in. I will wait until the lunch rush is over there to go pick it up.

ICOOK Stay safe through the storm. Maybe it'll miss you! Wouldn't that be wonderful. I hope Christina gets to feeling better too. She's really had a lot going on lately.
GREENBACK You're already planning to stay in tomorrow. Smart idea. Remember when young, nothing would stop us! what happened? LOL I could say age, and that's true but with age comes wisdom, hopefully. LOL Enjoy your "stay in" time.

Good afternoon to all. It's snowing outside. The forecast is for 1-5" tomorrow--how is that for being vague and "covering your behind"? LOL. And, now, they are saying another big storm Thursday night into Friday. I don't think I have mentioned it here, but I am going on a little adventure with DD and DSIL#1 and Trinity. Trini will be 9 on January 18 and as a combination Christmas/birthday gift, she was given a trip to the Mall of America and, along with shopping there, reservations for lunch at the new Barbie Cafe. We leave on Friday, will arrive Saturday afternoon, and will shop and explore Saturday afternoon/evening and all day Sunday (that's when we have our lunch with Barbie) and then drive back on Monday. Since it is the MLK holiday, DD and DSIL don't have to work on Monday and Trini doesn't have school that day. Mike is going to be in charge of Trini's two brothers, getting them to games and other activities over the three-day weekend. (Actually, I have told them they are babysitting Paw Paw, LOL.) So, I'd appreciate if that next big snow could wait until we are back, but don't think I have any power of the matter. I do see that, so far, it is not to snow in MN while we are there--just be cold!
Laurie, I loved hearing about the shower, but so sorry to hear about Al's fall and hospitalization. Hope all goes smoothly with the pacemaker. I assume his heart rate is low? Do they think that had anything to do with the fall or was it discovered when they examined him?
Grammy, sorry to hear about your big "owie" and hope you feel better real soon. I know our little Josie Mae would tell you that a Frozen (Ana or Elsa) bandaid and a kiss would help it. Sending you a virtual hug!
Mike just came in from the mailbox and the snow is really coming down and is heavy flakes. It has been warm enough, though, that I am not sure it will stick. I know 5 grandkids who are sure hoping for a snow day tomorrow!
Time to get something done. Wishing all a wonderful rest of your day.
