Good Morning....
It's kinda dismal out there. We might get a little rain and highs will be low 40's.
I was awake at 5 thinking it should be later. Finally got up at 6, showered and had coffee. Now the day will be long.
We will go to Walmart for a few things sometime today. I'm hoping earlier than later. DH doesn't move as fast in the morning.
I think I will start on the new year calendar that I do every year. I put all my pictures I might use on the site...so they are there and ready to start working. That is what usually takes me the longest, getting all the pictures loaded. I think I'll have a few more to put on from Christmas, but then should be able to do what I want with what I have.
GrammyDebbie...sounds like you had a great Christmas with all your family. Enjoy your up coming trip.
Elle...I'm not crazy about having to set up a new computer but this one went quite well as it is a new Chromebook and everything transferred very easy with a click of a button. Penny passed out all the gifts to us that were under the tree and she did very well. They had fun opening everything.
Mamma...puppies sure are cute and every time DH sees one he thinks we should have one (I don't think he's really serious). Neither of us has ever had a dog and we aren't about to start now. Cats have always been my favorite. And I have two that are always curling up in my lap. DD's dog is enough "dog time" for us. She's a real sweet dog.
Have a great day everyone..........

Well, no 8 am rise and shine this morning. I was awake at 6:30 due to a potty call. But I didn't want to sleep until 8 again anyway.
This morning I have a grocery order coming and then Jill wants to go to the nice pet store here and then out for a godfathers pizza. I told her that I know what she is doing. Between her, my sister (SIL), and my cousin I don't have time for tears this week. But I do need to keep my phone charged. LOL Jill and I always enjoy each others company but her anxiety gets in her way often. She is really trying hard to relax more and not let everything bother her. I am constantly praising her for her efforts and accomplishments. She has no other support.
Oh dear my cookie bowl is empty and my cup is almost dry. Good thing I accidentally made a full pot of coffee.
CJ, I"m happy for you that the change over with the Chrome book went so well. You are a cat lady and I"m a dog lady and we are both happy with that, that is all that matters. But youngens of any species is too much for me anymore. LOL
Blessings in abundance to all.

Good morning grannies, another miserable day here in mid Ohio. Just damp, cloudy and temp going to 40s. That makes a dismal day with no sunshine.
No pets for me I love your dog and cat but don't want one to take care of. Cassandra has been "baby sitting" a puppy that needs more exposure to people. It seems a bit frightened of new people. It's so funny watching them roll around playing on the floor. We do have a large dog and two cats but nothing like a kid and a puppy! This puppy comes for frequent visits Cassandra puts the leash on out they go.
Not much going on here today just making a slow recovery from Christmas. Mamma I'll be taking the Christmas things soon. Not today but they won't be there many more days. when Christmas is over I'm ready to put things away. So glad you have a friend to spend some time with. Being with people does help so let them help you now.

Good Morning Ladies - - - IT'S 32 AND we had a skiff of snow - not enough to cover the green grass, but you can see white here and there and on the roof tops. I finally got some sleep last night. I had a nap yesterday also, but still, I am tired. Hope to get caught up on it soon. Nothing planned here today except to see the Culligan man soon and then I hope to get my Christmas stuff put away. My cleaning people come tomorrow, so they can carry it down stairs for me, take the hanging things down too. I was thinking they came today, but I am just a little mixed up on my days this week. CJ, glad the computer transfer is going good for you - and what a good idea to start thinking about next years calendar already. I really look forward to getting mine. I have it hanging right by my side here at the desk. I look at it many times a day - mostly to enjoy the pictures! Mamma, sounds like you have a nice day to look forward to - - fun for you to have the puppy to play with and then send home again. Your crab salad and tomatoes looked so good yesterday on FB. Grammy, I don't get tired of my Christmas decorations, because I don't have a lot out and what I do is more like the trees and angels and not the bold red & green and Santa's. I wouldn't be in a hurry to take down, but since I need help getting some down and all taken to the basement - I need to do it now or it will be here for another month. I probably wouldn't mind, but people would think it was a little strange if they came to visit. IC, how fun to have the company coming today - and a tasty little lunch you have planned for them too! Debbie, have a great time at the condo and enjoy the time you will be spending with the kids and grands! Ellie, is your DD feeling well again - not sure if that is the one you went out to lunch with or a different one. It sounds like you have a nice weekend also. I opened the garage door this morning for the Culligan man when he comes, and saw my garbage can and recycling back up to the door - I deceided to have a cup of coffee before I brought them the rest of the way into the garage, and when I opened to door to go out to do that, they were already put away - such a nice neighbor that I have and I thank the Lord for them.

We did our Walmart run. The store was pretty empty...so we were in and out in no time. Then a stop at Pet Supplies Plus for litter, can food and dry food. We've been using a senior indoor dry food and it really seems to be helping with them keeping it in their stomach instead on the floor.LOL
My decor will come down on Monday, the 1st. I'm always way more than ready for it to be put away.
Our good friends have invited us for New Years Eve supper at their house. We picked them up at the airport earlier this month and might be taking them to the airport in a couple weeks when they go back to AZ for the winter. We are thinking we might go out there in Feb but aren't sure yet.

Sun is out and it is warmer, I think in the 50's. I worked yest. a long time organizing my Christmas stuff and wanted to see just what I have. I also vacuumed 3 rooms. Today I mopped my hall and kitchen which I rarely do, they are wood and do not get very dirty, no traffic here much. All of this wears me out because of my back. So I rest a lot 😄 Washing some rugs now. My brother is going through a hard time, Right now he is waiting on some insurance approval for something. I figured he has good insurance? He retired from the Atomic Energy national laboratory in Oak Ridge. My next job is decluttering the bathroom.

This morning Jill and the puppy picked me up and we headed to the pet store. I got to hold the puppy in the car and all the way around the store and back home. Oh how I love that little girl. But not for more than a few hours at my house. I can't keep up with a puppy any longer.
After we took puppy back home we went to AppleBee's for lunch. With all the traffic neither of us wanted to go into town. We each had the sirloin steak dinner and it was very good. Now find something to do the rest of the day.
It's chilly and damp with no sunshine for warmth. So I really don't want to be outside doing anything. Maybe Annie and I can finish cleaning the floors. They are still in dire need. The laundry was all done and put away before we left this morning. I really need to learn how to pace myself. LOL Oh and when we got home there was NO water again. But they are working on the leak. And of course I need to wash my hands and use the toilet. I'll be so glad when that road out front is done. Those idiots could mess up boiling water.
Oh well, off to see what I can get into now. A nap??

Good afternoon, I just got home from coffee at the Cabin. There was 2 missing but it was good laughs and coffee. It's 54* and the sun just hid. It was shining bright on my way home. My decorations are still up but hopefully one day this week they'll be down. No NYE plans here that I'm aware of and that's ok with me. It'll come party or no party. LOL Not much going on, getting to be supper time so I'll be heading to the kitchen.

My cousins left awhile ago. They ate everything I put out so it must have been good. They brought me a big pointsettia,(sp) a dish towel to hang on the stove & two lottery tickets. I hope we can get together again. I want to clean up, put my night clothes on & rest. Tomorrow Christina comes. A trip to see the nurse practitioner to get the OK for my eye surgeries.

Elle, I'm going to check the fine print on 2024 and make darn sure it's a better year than what I've had the past three years. No celebrating here either, just another day.
Wouldn't you know it after I go down to get a gallon of water so I can finally flush the toilet and our water is back on. Not to say that I'm not happy, I'm thrilled the water wasn't off any longer. Every thing in this park is really really old so little by little things are needing repair. As long as I was so close to the parks wash area, I rinsed off my dirty golf cart. She is all nice and clean.....until it gets windy again.
Jill is trying to come up with a name for her little black Pug. It's a female, anyone care to help us name her? I liked Angel, Ebony, Princess and Peanut, so far Angel is the closest but not quite what Jill wants. Remember Jill is really a strange bird. LOL To prove my point the name she came up with is Pinky Toe. I told her is was too weird. We both laughed.

Good afternoon to all. It has been lightly snowing on and off all day here in central MO. Nothing is sticking to the road, but it has been quite some time since we had snow here; didn't get much at all last winter. Mike is in town to check his Mom's mail and to go to the bank. I stayed behind to finish some things up before we leave tomorrow. Today, I have made butterscotch cookies, copycat Samoa bites and two loaves of salted caramel banana bread. I'm getting things together for the night I will be cooking at the condo. I went back and forth over what to have or should we just order pizza. I decided to have an appetizer/snack night. I'm going to make my DMIL's Polish Mistake (a meaty dip) and serve it with baguette slices I will pick up in Branson, a street corn dip I'll serve with tortilla strips and I'm going to do some kielbasa bites in a brown sugar/cola sauce in the crockpot. I'll also take some cheese and crackers and maybe pick up a small charcuterie board for the evening. I think the kids will like all that, too, along with the cookies and candy I will have for dessert. Trying to keep everything as simple as possible although Mike just came in and inquired if we were taking the whole house??!!
No pets for us either, at least indoor ones. I wasn't raised with indoor pets so I don't miss them and, of course, with us being gone so much these last few years, any kind of pet has been pretty much out of the question. I do love horses and cattle and love having those around. We are going to fix our fences us here and get some cattle, at least some calves, in the coming year. Our niece raises Corgis and they are cute, but unless we get a good cattle dog, don't plan to have one. Only cat we will have is one to live in the barn to keep the mice population down. I don't dislike animals, just set in my ways, I guess. DD#2 has an in-house dog and we love Diesel and don't mind him at all, but I don't want to bring him home with us--LOL.
All the Christmas decorations are down and put away, but I need to dust the uncluttered surfaces where they were before I put back on my pictures and knickknacks that I usually set out.
Mama, how about just Pinky or Pinkie for the dog's name? Kind of cute, I think. Reminds me of the movie Grease for some reason. One of the dogs we had was Roscoe, another was Cletus. I've had horses named Amigo, Boss (Jack's Bar Boss was the registered name), Appa (short for Apa's Two Tone--she was an appaloosa) and my dog when I was a little girl was named Tippy.
Our New Year's Eve will be a dual celebration. DD#1 and DSIL were married on New Year's Eve, so we will celebrate them as well. Can you believe it will be 18 years for them this year?! #2 was married 13 years in October!
I know one meal will be when the Chiefs play this weekend and DD#2 will be cooking that day and she plans to cover the dining table at the condo with foil and make table nachos--put LOTS of chips directly down on the covered table, put all kinds of nacho toppings like meat, beans, cheese, etc., on top and let all of us have at it. That should be fun and I will just leave the clean up to her--LOL.
I'm in charge of most breakfasts and I'm taking the salted caramel banana bread, orange rolls, baked long johns with chocolate frosting (they turned out dry so we will need plenty of milk for those!) and some assorted muffins.
Time to ride my recumbent bike. I should have done it before now, but I actually sat down on the couch after cleaning up the kitchen from all my efforts and fell asleep. I hope I am finally getting caught up on some rest.
Love to all and, if I get a quiet moment at the condo, I will try to check in.

ICOOK it sounds like your day was a good one! I'm happy for you. It does make us tired but I always say, it's a good tired.
MAMMA I hope the fine print will be true to it's word and have all good things. LOL It will be interesting to hear what Jill names her puppy. My sister has a way with "goofy" names for her animals too. LOL I took naming our poms as serious as I did my girls. Ok, I know, silly.
DEBBIE Can I hitch a ride and be part of your family. It sounds like the perfect family vacation. I hope all will go very well, be safe, healthy, laugh a lot and come back and tell us all about it.

Grammy....yes the peppermint ice cream and hot fudge was a hit. I've been enjoying it after supper too.
GrammyDebbie...sounds like you have everything ready for your trip. You'll be doing some good eating while there. Enjoy!
I've been working on the calendar all afternoon. I have such a hard time picking out what pictures I want to use. And then picking out the back ground and such. I'm on the month of June now...so I'll see how much I get done tonight and hopefully finish it tomorrow.
