Good morning Wanda the early bird. Thanks for opening the door.
A cold 44ยบ, very damp and dewy out there this morning. Everything is wet with dew including the golf cart seat. So I used my trusty plastic tablecloth to cover the seat again. Bill and his dog, Sally, were there this morning but Mandy just says hi and walks away. She really had to do her thing this morning. And I was happy she was so quick so I could get home and have my coffee.
Nothing planned for the day other than sit and watch tv. I still may take all the decorations down. And some cookies will go in the freezer so make room on the craft table again. All the clutter is driving me crazy. Lincoln will call sometime this morning or rather do a video chat so he can see me open his gift and a nice face to face time. That will be the highlight of my day.
Chicken keiv for lunch today and left over pizza from the freezer for supper. How do you like that, I actually have my meals planned today.LOL

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY DEAR GRANNY FRIENDS!
It's 50 and a gloomy-cloudy day. The kids got going early - earlier than they planned, as last night they got weather warnings for home and blizzard conditions with snow. It was a white Christmas at there house this morning, and they thought they should get 3/4 of the way before they would have problems. I hope it won't be bad -they mentioned freezing rain last night, but didn't say that this morning. In fact, they thought of taking off last night, but knew it would be a late start and in the dark, if it was freezing rain, not a good trip, so waited until this morning. I would have liked having them around longer, but was happy to see them head home in good time too.
We had a busy weekend as it was - Friday night after they got here we went to the bowling alley to try the pizza at the new place, but they were out of crusts, so had sandwiches. One of the couples that they are really good friends with came and joined us and then came to the house. Sat. they went to her Dad's and got back here about 6. Yesterday we went to church at 4, put the lasagna in hte oven when we left and it smelled so good when we walked back in the door. It is the first time I ever went to church on Christmas Eve with no coat and sandals. We didn't even need to cover the poinsettia to bring it home. They were pretty this year. We ate and then another couple, good friends of the kids came over from Decorah to see the kids and bring a gift to Dawson. After they left, we opened our gifts and the kids gave me a new phone, since I was having problems with it, and Daren set it up, but deceided the issue was with the line, so have a tec coming on Thur. Of course, my best gift is always the calendar that Jen makes with pictures each month and I have right beside me here at the computer.
It sounds like many are struggling this year, and yes, we always remember, we always keep them close to our heart, and we always miss them. I have adjusted to it by now, 22 years, but still have that empty spot at the table, and know how much he would have enjoyed Dawson.
I am still in my robe, so need to carry on, even though I am not expecting company, I need to be presentable, just in case! I might even throw in a load of laundry.
Have a very Merry Christmas and enjoy!

Merry Christmas to all my Grannie friends....
I think I have everything under control...but I keep having this feeling I'm forgetting something. Time will tell and I sure hope I haven't.
Christmas Eve service at 4 was a full house and very nice. Came home and watched The Christmas Story like I do every year. I think I'm getting tired of that one though.
DH & I exchanged gifts this morning while we had our coffee. He got me a new laptop computer since my other one was doing weird things. I hope I can learn how to get all my stuff on this one from the other one.
Dinner this afternoon will be ham, cheesy potatoes, squash/apple bake, cauliflower/broccoli casserole and rolls. I decided not to make a fruit salad as not many eat it and then it just gets mushy. I have the peppermint ice cream and hot fudge for dessert.
I've heard from DS#2 & girlfriend, she sent me a picture...so that was nice.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day.........

Almost 2 pm and I've made it this far. The kids did a video chat as we opened our gifts. Maria loved the daughter in law thermo tumbler I got for her. Lincoln said she was in tears, and she never cries. She hid from the camera too. I didn't mean to make her cry with the words on the mug, I just wanted her to know how special she is to me and I love her. I gave Lincoln a Dad memorial frame, he can put any picture he wants in it. I got one of those photo frame things with some pictures that Lincoln had already installed. I've added more today. I just have no place to set it. Right now it's on the kitchen counter, not a good place. There are very few flat surfaces around here. But I will figure out some place for it so I can see it too.
Jill stopped over a bit ago to show me her new pug puppy. Her dog Pookie is a toy puddle and 18 years old. Can you believe that, 18 years old? She is afraid that when Pookie passes she will be all alone. The pug is a black female. No name yet. Shortly we will take Mandy and Pookie for a walk. When we come home my decorations are coming Down! I'm tired of the clutter.
See y'all tomorrow. God bless.

I went to my cousins this morning for my Birthday breakfast. I intended to spend The night but a couple were coughing and her ears were stopped up. I knew she didn't feel good so I just came back home. She loves 40 miles from me. They are back roads too. I drive through hard rains on the way back. Yesterday was good. Ate with my DS and the Food was so good. The baby was the life of the party. ๐ I have clothes in the washer and the drier. Now I know how it feels to be 81. So thankful to God got my years and esp my family. Hope all of you have had a very merry Christmas. Take care everybody Be back tomorrow I hope. โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ

Carolyn, I didn't realize it was your birthday - - - Happy, Happy Birthday - - What A special day to have a birthday and share it with Jesus. It was probably a wise choice to come home and get away from those germs. I know the guy sitting behind me last night was sneezing in my back - hope nothing comes of it. Again Happy Birthday! Mamma, you will love having that frame. I got mine maybe 4 years ago and the kids load pictures on it all the time, in fact some new one last night. It's set on sleep mode and when I walk by it, it kicks in and I love sharing those pictures every day. One of my very best gifts of all times! Keep it handy so you will see the pictures often.

Got home from my cousins a short while ago. I was gone all afternoon. Tinker met me at the door. Cousin Pat took her out for me. She's done for the night. In my nightclothes already. A lot of good food today. My cousin Maria made a beef tenderloin. Was that ever good. She made stuffed pasta.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO MY GRANNIE FRIENDS!! It was a busy, fun, food filled, laughter filled and game day here. They came a little after 11:00 and left shortly after 5:00. DD and her family will be leaving for MS. to visit his parents tomorrow. It was a good day. I'm not sure when my decorations will come down but I'm ready for it to happen. I have left over food in the frig so that will come in handy too. We had the ceiling fan going and the screens open on the storm doors. We got up to 60* and my family is hot blooded, not me! I'm tired and will be happy to get in the bed. I don't make or have plans for New Years eve and I'm content with that.
I put my jams and robe on about an hour ago and it feels good! I'll need to do some cleaning tomorrow.
