Good morning and Merry Christmas! Sitting in the dark listening to the house noises. Remember the song "Dueling Banjos?" Well, it's dueling cough-ers in here. Since they are both named Todd, it's dueling Todd cough-ers. Fun stuff here at the lake, eh? Hugs Grammy, so sweet of DD to remember.
Yesterday was Lefse Fest, or whatever you call it. We've never done it, had two griddles going and made a double batch. Notes for next year-get a ricer, get the round boards that you cover, buy new socks for the rolling pins and chill the dough longer. All in all, went fine and tasted great. Since I didn't know ahead of time we were having company to do it, I decided to do all of my baking yesterday and then put together a soup and chili, why not? That's why I'm awake, sitting here thinking of all I need to do yet. It's not that much, but still. So, help yourself to some coffee and have a fabulously wonderfully blessed Christmas! Good morning and MERRY CHRISTMAS
Last night my phone quit working and this morning my phone still wouldn’t work so I looked up how to force start an android. And low and behold my phone is now working. PLT I’m so happy that I knew where to look for help and that God provided the help and fixed my phone.
Last night I didn’t sleep but maybe an hour so I think a power nap will be in store some time today.
I’ll be doing church on line this morning and tonight too.
Christmas Day morning Lincoln wants to do a video chat as we open the gift from one another. That will be it for the day. Then I’m taking all decorations down.
The only thing I have planned for the day is to take Mandy for an afternoon walk. |

Got up a short while ago Hope to bake the last batch of cookies today & do some dusting. Want to wash some blankets.
Mamma I always keep the Christmas tree & decorations up till January 6 That is the 12 days of Christmas. I enjoy them up.

Good Morning....
Happy Christmas Eve day.
It's very foggy here and the temp will be in the low 50's today. Not the kind of weather for Christmas Eve/Christmas day.
I just finished wrestling with that roll dough. What a mess. I guess I just can't use the mixer to do the kneading for me. Put it out on my mat and kneaded by hand till it wasn't so sticky. It's doing the first rise now. I just know they are going to be heavy and dense. It is what it is. I'll soon be prepping the veggie dishes I plan to make tomorrow. And get the table runner and napkins out of the closet.
Our Christmas eve service is at 4 and 10. We'll go to the 4 oclock service. DH said he wouldn't be able to stay awake for the 10 service.
Lauriet...had to look up Lefse. Didn't know what that was. What do you put in them?
Mamma...glad you got your phone working again. Do you think the battery might be going bad? I was awake till 3 am and then finally fell asleep. Was up at 7:30.
Icook...hope you are feeling better. Will you be going to your cousin's house tomorrow? My tree usually comes down on New Years day. I'm always happy to have it all put away.

IC, normally I leave up the tree and decorations until New Years Day. But this year is not a normal year. I just want the whole year over with. Good luck with the cookies.
CJ, so sorry you can't get the sticky out of the dough with the mixer. Nothing wrong with the battery of my phone, technology just gets stupid sometimes. Like rebooting a computer to get its brain back to where it should be. hehehe I had just forgotten what to do with a phone that acts up. This has happened with another phone a very long time ago.
Grammy, I forgot to mention....yesterday I had on sweatpants and a sweatshirt all day long. It felt so good. I've not done that other than when I was too sick to get dressed. LOL Today is starting out the same way. But I'm sure I'll change clothes at some point.
Just took out my spaghetti sauce to thaw for my supper tonight. Lunch may be cold cereal just peanut butter toast.

I've been busy Just finished making the cookie dough. I'll get them baked yet today I have a recipe for cream cheese candies. Not sure if I'll make them.
CJ My cousin called me yesterday to go to her house tomorrow I told her I wasn't feeling well. She thinks it's my sinuses. She doesn't want me to be alone tomorrow.

Another dark and dismal day with fog and light rain. Church this morning then home for some lunch. A couple of things to wrap and call it all done. Now to wait for Santa.
We will be having our traditional Spanish feast tonight DGD and Chef are cooking so dd,dsil and I will go to my church for the early Christmas Eve service and home to feast on the goodies. Tomorrow we will have prime rib that's lots of good eating crowed into 2 days! Gifts will be opened Christmas morning. DSIL will read about the birth of Christ then it's gift. DH did this for many years and I'm so happy to see it continued with DISL continuing it.
Mamma hope the day gets better for you. I made it over the bump and I know you will too. Just give it some time. Those firsts are hard to get thru. Enjoy what you can and be good to yourself.

Good afternoon, it's cloudy and yucky outside. The temp is 53*. Tomorrow they're predicting 60*. It's winter??? I'm ok with the temps but wish the sun was out. LOL It was church this a.m. and it was a good service. We had a nice crowd that I didn't expect because there's a lot of sickness here. After lunch, I went to the kitchen and garage and brought the extra table and chairs in. The table is folding long so that's a chore in itself. I have the table set and things in order so I'm thinking all I need to do tomorrow is cook. I'm not sure if DD#2 will make it or not, she's still not up to par. She is getting over bronchial pneumonia.

MAMMA I think maybe seeing and talking to Lincoln will help. It won't and never will replace your heart, but count it as a blessing. I know you're trying. I still cry and I'm telling myself, it's ok!! But it's temporary!! It's been 4, almost 5 years for me. I made baked spaghetti a few weeks ago and it might be my supper tonight. It actually sounds good. Good for you fixing your phone. Technology drives me crazy!!
ICOOK I'm so glad your cousin wants you to be with them. I do hope you'll feel up to going. Take care and hope tomorrow will be good.
CJ There's a lot of prep work to get ready for family! I always say it's worth it but when I was fighting with the folding table, I wasn't so sure. LOL
GRAMMY I can see you waiting for the prime rib to get done!!! LOL We do look forward to the good food, don't we. And I love the company and I don't mind the noise. I sometimes just make myself listen too the noise then thank God that the special are taking time for me.

I'm still working Cookies are baked. Waiting for them to cool so I can put the icing & sprinkles on
EllMade the cream cheese candies Have to make them into balls & put colored sugar on them. I'll be busy another hour or so.
Elle I'm thankful that my cousin wants me to be with her & her family. Christmas is really bothering me this year more than usual I miss Earl so much I know you miss your DH too.
