No wind to speak of this morning so 52º doesn't feel too bad. With the cart plugged in over night I could've walked but I was lazy and took the car to the pet area. I just don't have the energy in the morning to walk far, I'm not awake enough to put one foot in front of the other safely. Soon it will be cold to walk in the morning so I'll have a better excuse to not walk. LOL Mary and her "kids" were there today. They dogs get so excited to see one another and neither wants to share attention from Mary and I. It's so funny the way one will push the other aside to get the scratches and pat.
Yesterday I got a call from my home insurance company. The gal accidentally paid for my installment with the company bank. So I need to go and pay them back. She felt so bad and was so apologetic, I thought it was kind of funny. And I let her know I was not upset. She felt so bad.
Mandy just came in here with her head down looking guilty of something. But I can't find anything to make her or me upset. Maybe I'll find it later on.
Nothing happening here out of the ordinary, just another day of the week. |

Yesterday it snowed all day long and quite windy. Everything looked really pretty. This is as much snow as we'll have for December...just a dusting to 1/2 inch. It will be melted by Christmas as it will be near 50.
Just a little venting.....DD & family are to be here Christmas day for dinner and gifts. They are getting together with DSIL's family on Christmas Eve with his cousins, aunt & uncle. Yesterday DD informs me that DMIL wants to have Christmas day with just them. Well.....what about us??? I told her that the kids are going to be so tired and cranky from such a long day that they probably won't even be hungry by time they come here. I am so upset with it all.
Debbie...thanks for your thoughts on my bread making. My yeast was good. The rustic loaf rose just fine but it started to deflate while the oven was heating to bake it. So, who knows what was wrong. And it wouldn't come together to form a ball of dough in the mixer, just got gloppy...which caused me to keep adding flour. The second bread I made (white bread in pans) came together with the mixer dough hook. The recipe only said to sprinkle the yeast on the water (no sugar). So this time I put some of the sugar in with it to feed off of and it foamed up really good. Then I lessened the rest of the sugar in the recipe by what I put in the water.. It turned out good. I thought that was strange not to add sugar to the water and yeast to proof as all the recipes I was reading did this. The recipe is from The Wilderness Wife a basic white bread using the kitchen aid stand mixer. I'm bound and determined to master this machine...LOL
Today I need to get to the grocery store. Hope they have restocked the shelves from the weekend madness.

CJ, I would be upset too. How inconsiderate can they be. My feelings would be hurt and I would let them know too. My mouth has no filter so they would really hear it. {{{BIG HUGS}}}

Goodmorning grannies, it's a cold day out there but the sun is trying to come out! I do hope it wins.The temp was 26 this morning with very light snow cover on the grassy areas. I am supposed to go to lunch with dd, dgd and the dggs then they will drop me off at the church for game time. DD did a pretty Christmas plate of the Magi Bread to take this afternoon. What isn't eaten I hope to give to any takers! Grannies might want to take a look at this recipe it's very pretty and good too! I just plan to use fewer choc chips the next just too many for me. I'll add more of something else.
CJ I understand about the Christmas day family. We always had the kids Christmas day the in-laws preferred Christmas Eve. I do hope this can be worked out so they can be with you one of those times. Is dd going along with this plan of doesn't she get to be heard. Sharing our married kids is one thing but it certainly is not fair to want it all
Mamma no wind here today either it was fierce yesterday. If the sun pops out the snow will soon be gone and I hope it happens before I go out. Those puppie sound like people lovers or do they just know how to get the treats!
Time for me to move on to the next thing so I'm not late

Brrr here today 22 degrees earlier.
I had breakfast n got a shower. Am going to the
store in a little while.
My pineapple cake was a hit at the senior
citizens. We sure had a good time.
Hope all of you are well.
We decided (cousin and I) to not go to the
Christmas event tonight.
Too cold and neither of us walk so good and we
figured having to park and walk we shouldn't
go,
I came home from the sr citizens and made a
pound cake and peanut butter fudge.
Will gift all that.

Good Afternoon Ladies - - - The gals have been here and gone, dishes are in the dishwasher except for a couple of baking dishes in the sink that I will do up later. My legs aren't working good today, it is probably from running around my house yesterday looking for my portable phone - not cell - and finally did find it on the bookcase that has my cookbooks in. I must have set it down when I got the cookbook for the FT. I have a few cards that I didn't want to get there until the end of the week, so will make a trip to the drive by box at the PO. My last package came today, so just need to wrap that one. It was even a day early according to the tracking #. When I get back from there, I plan to spend the rest of the afternoon in my chair. I didn't sleep that good again either, but mostly want to get my legs up.
CJ, some people thing they are the only ones! How sad. when the kids first got married, Jen was very good about keeping tract of every other year - CE and CD - the only issue with that was that I was to share the day with her mom - I didn't think that was fair, as I felt her dad and mom should have to split the day in stead of me. Well, after Darcy deceided she didn't want to come anymore, I told her that it didn't matter when we had it, that she should do what ever worked on her side, especially when they went to her DGM's who is well into her 90's. I did have her mom with us a few years, but that was awkward too, but since she is no longer alive, there is no issue. I know how you felt, as I know I felt that they had Christmas with grandma, her Dad, and her Mom. Somehow it all works out and I hope your DD will let them know that she values the time spent with you on the holiday.
Mamma, we got down to 13 yesterday and windy - you sure wouldn't have wanted to walk then. I bet the gal at the insurance office did hate to make that call to you.
Grammy, sounds like a nice day for you with your girls and then the game time. The bread sounds good, but I'm not sure I would like it, but need to check the receipe and see what all is in it.
Carolyn, probably a good idea to skip the event tonight. Not always good walking in the dark when you can't see things in the way even if you don't have problems. I'm sure the pineapple cake was great!

Mamma's Night Before Christmas
The night before Christmas when all through the home, it looked as though we were really alone.
No stockings are hung cuz no chimney is there. Santa won't come when there's no holiday fare.
No children are nestled in beds that aren't there, just Mandy and mamma sitting upon a big chair.
When outside the window there came an odd sound, Mandy jumped off of my lap and barked very loud.
Off to the window to see what was there, I saw nothing but sand and rocks everywhere
The moon on the breast of new wind blown sand gave a thought of the work I had to do in dispair.
But what to my wondering eyes did appear, but a little ole gecko and eight babies so dear. I knew in a moment I had nothing fear
More speed than a road runner the little ones ran and hid in the bushes and under the sand.
A little excitement for Mandy and me was just what we needed to offer some glee.
The lights outside that I hung up for night make the outside look so festive and bright.
Songs on Google display fill the air, with music so joyful and clear,
The Christmas programs on Roku and Dish have filled every night with holiday cheer.
Soon we will celebrate a gift of great love, and send many thanks to our Father above.
Merry Christmas my friends we send you our love.
