Didn't make it to church. I was coughing too much and still not feeling the best.
I needed to make bread...so that's what I'm doing. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with using the mixer/dough hook. The dough just doesn't want to come together. It's a gloppy mess and I end up adding more and more flour. Then the bread is heavy and dense. Debbie...help...come to my house and show me how to use this thing. LOL
It is so dark and dreary right now. I could lay down and take a nap..LOL Just like the cats are doing.
The coffee is ready and cookies are on a plate. Help yourselves. Have a great day.........

This morning it was/is 55º when we went out. Bill and his dog and Mary and her two came after a bit. Mandy didn't really have any interest in playing this morning. So we didn't stay very long after the "gang" got there.
Jill is in the hospital due to very low sodium levels. So her cold and flue turned into something more serious. I'll check with her this morning to make sure it's not COVID too. He little dog will need water and food. Not sure her sister will help with that. Although Jill said that she came to the hospital with her. I noticed last night that the birds warming lamp wasn't on. But until Jill gives me the ok, I won't go into her home. I'm just so concerned about her little dog and if Jill turned the heat on when she left. It gets cold at night. The afternoon got nice and warm so I'm sure she had the heat off.
Another warm day. It would be great if it wasn't windy too. No plans other than going to church this morning. Maybe a tootle this afternoon.
CJ, I've never had that problem with the dough staying sticky. So sorry to hear that you are. I've only made bread a couple times, but I've make caramel rolls. Praying for you to get well quickly. |

Well, that bread loaf turned out horrible...flat as a pancake. Suppose to be a rustic loaf. I don't even think we can use it for toast. I am so frustrated with the whole thing!

Still not feeling good I'm thinking it's my sinuses I've had issues with them before. Heather(nurse practitioner) told me to call her if I still wasn't feeling well. Don't want to be sick for Christmas
Doing some cleaning today Hope to finish it. Baked some of the chocolate chip cookies yesterday. They will get done today. Making a pot of chicken'n' dumplings.

Sorry your bread didn't turn out well You've made bread before I'm surprised it didn't turn out well for you. Let's hope we both start feeling better soon. Thanks for the coffee & cookies. Heavy rain coming my way again today 4th Sunday in a row that it rained Could get 3 inches Took the ELVIS flag & wreath down.

Felt better once I got up and moved around

I said I will be 81 and she said SO?

IC, I understand how miserable sinus issues can be. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
This morning I listened to my church in MN and went to my church here. Neither of them gave me much. So I feel lost today. Usually I can take something home from my Yuma pastor but not so today. I'm not saying he didn't have a good message, it just didn't speak to me like most all of his do. Maybe I just need to think on it some more.
Lunch today was two Van DeCamps fish fillets, green beans and a bunch of cookies. I hadn't eaten breakfast so I was starving by the time I got home. My lunch didn't satisfy me but the cookies tried. hehehe I had it in my head that I wanted BK or KFC for lunch but there was just too much traffic to cross the bridge. I don't like the bridge this time of year so I just came home.
Carolyn, you do what makes you happy. I hope the kids will accept your decision. I know Lincoln would like me to move back to MN, but I've no real interest in the winters cold and snow and the summers, humidity and storms. Plus this is the last home for Mark and I together. And I would need a new car too. Nope I'll stay here as long as I can. Lincoln is not telling me what to do, he is doing his best to see that I am happy where I am.
This morning Jill told me that her sister and aunt will take care of the dog and bird. But I have yet to see anyone there. Jill is not sure when she will be discharged from the hospital. She is really a sick gal. This isn't going to help her already rocky mental state either.
I think I'll head out with Mandy and maybe go for a tootle or a walk. Really I'm too tired to walk anywhere today.

Another dark wet day and chilly with the temp at 47. The clouds and rain sure make it feel so much colder.
I was sitting here awhile ago and got so sleepy I thought my face would hit the keyboard! A short nap revived me. It was church and lunch as usual this morning. It's a a quiet afternoon here since the younger ones and their kids won't be home till tomorrow afternoon. Yesterday dd asked if I would like to go to another Christmas concert today I did say maybe. Today I said I just wanted to stay in where it's warm and not go out again.
It must be time for Kindle

Good Afternoon Ladies - - - This morning I was up and out for church, then came home and had a cup of coffee and toast and a banana - then went to my friend's surprise BD party. I don't think it was much of a surprise, except I don't think she expected to see us gals since we were together last week. They had chicken noodle and veggie beef soup, mac &cheese, little dinner rolls, cheese and sausage, and cup cakes. I think she enjoyed it.
I am tired now, so just going to say hello and head for my chair and see what happens from there.

It rained overnight and it was drizzling when I went to church but that was it, nothing after church. I think we're supposed to get more tomorrow or Tuesday? I want to get my car washed so will watch the forecast before I get it washed. Lunch was sirloin steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and salad. I'll have something sweet for supper since I didn't have dessert. I think I'm going to fix a cheese, mushroom omelet to go with it. We'll see. I took a longer than planned nap. Over an hour, I hope I sleep tonight. LOL
