Looking at the clock, I see that I'm later than usual. Mandy and I were in no hurry this cold morning. So I finished one cup of coffee before heading out into the winter wilderness.
Doctor appointment today to go over my blood work results. The only thing I saw was that my white count was higher than normal. But then I have a bad tooth again too. A couple actually, but I'm not going to Mexico this time of year. Most every snowbird heads there. The wait to get back into the US is sometimes a two hour wait in line. There is never enough border patrol working to make the line move faster and so very many people wanting to come back home.
Yesterday was like Christmas. All my Amazon orders came in one day. I was so excited to get what I ordered that I forgot that I was going to wrap one or two. Oh well, no big deal. I'm now using everything that came. Today a decal for the golf cart will be here. I have to make the cart have some personality.
From the looks of it my electric blanket is in Yuma. I wonder if it made it here to go out for delivery today too. That would be great.

Goodmorning grannies, it's a frosty 22 this morning but warming to the 40s' this afternoon. Once again I can say good morning sunshine.
Mamma what fun to get all you things delivered at the same time. Just like Christmas!
Kathy is almost finished with the aprons, I thought they were leaving this morning but it's tomorrow. Maybe we can get the monograms done this afternoon.I have some time to work on the machine to see what needs to change. I use it so seldom it's like relearning whenever I want to do something. Too many buttons to push! Now to get the manual out and figure out which buttons are the right ones. Now to start thinking of another thing she can make using the things she has learned and learn something new also.
It's cold this morning so I have sweats on I am determined that I will only wear them one day each week. They are just too warm and comfy. I don't want this to become my usual daytime wear. I might have to get the cuddle duds out for those other days.
Where is everyone this morning?

Grammy, Kathy will be so proud when the gifts she has made are opened. I can see it now.  Big smiles. If you are warm, leave the sweat pants on, who really cares? I go for comfort not approval. So many think I'm silly dressing like an Eskimo in the morning and evening when I take Mandy out. But i would rather be warm than approved. The weather down here as me dressing one way in the morning, change for warmer in the afternoon and then warmer in the evening. I just lie the clothes neatly on the bed for the next change. hehehe
I just saw that my electric blanket is out for delivery. So later today I'll box up the mattress pad and take it back tomorrow some time. The heated mattress pad had no heat coils down by the end of the mattress. It was short about 4 inches, so my feet never really had heat on them. I had to lie diagonally in the bed. I'm praying that the electric blanket isn't short on coils too. I've never had that problem in the past so I hope it's not an issue now either. We always had an electric blanket, but lost it all or course.
It's almost 9 am and I still haven't moved from the computer. I had a big entry in our blog so that took some time. Now I need to get up and make the bed and make myself more presentable.......for Mandy. LOL

Mamma, I'm not so concerned about how I look. Usually it's only family and they have seen the good and the bad. I don't want to become an everyday slob! Usually It's long pants of jeans and sweatshirt.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Nice sunshine here today also and it's 37 at 10:30.
Mamma, hope you are happy with the new blanket and it can do what the mattress pad didn't do for you. Sounds like you are getting many treats for yourself and keeping Amazon in business! Do you just order for the thrill of a delievery and then return it??? LOL
Grammy, glad the aprons are finished and just need the names on now. How proud Kathy must be. Hope you get the machine all ready and can zip through that project. I know what you mean about getting to use to the sweat pants. I have been putting on a camisole and now I would be really cold without it. Of course I don't wear a bra when I am just home, so need a little extra warmth. If I go someplace where I put the bra on, I leave it on for the day instead of the camisole. I keep the heat 68, so sometimes I am extra and then out comes Ole Yeller, my ugly fleece top but I would never wear that in public.
I have a letter I need to get in a card and mail today - I will see what else turns up. I need to make something for supper too - maybe chili, but will see when its time to get meat out of the freezer.

LOL. Jane, No, I'm just particular. I hate having to repackage and return an item. I want it to work or be as stated, so I don't have to do a return. But not much is as it should be anymore. Plus I don't go out and shop so must things are ordered. That's why it seems like I send a lot back. I actually keep way more than I send back.
Grammy, I guess I can't see you to say you are dressing as a slob. In my mind you are always put together neatly. I do understand what you are saying.

A busy day Christina was here most of the day She came a little after 9 & helped me till 2:30 She got the floors done That's all the cleaning that got done. She took me to the eye surgeons office to measure my right eye for the surgery next month. I'll see the Dr. 5 times next month. Total in all 8 different appts. for me & Tinker next month.
Christina called the nurse practitioners office for me this morning. My voice is gone I coughed so much last night. Sometimes I could hardly catch my breath. She told me what cough medicine to get to help with
that.
Grammy I only wear sweat pants when it's really cold I have some for home & sweat suits when I want to be a little dressier.

I did it! It's a great sunny warmer than usual winter day so I went Christmas shopping. I mostly needed bags, etc. and a couple of gift cards. So now if everything that's been ordered comes in, I'll be done. I even have the ones I'm finished shopping for under the tree. Whew! when did this become work? LOL It's sunny and 50*and I love it.
MAMMA I'm glad you order and get what you want. Why not and you use what you get too. I hope the heated blanket will be perfect for you.
GRAMMY How's the UTI? I hope it's all well and good now! Kathy will be so proud of her work. Kuddo's to you for being so caring and loving to take time to help your family!!! I'm not as particular about my appearance as I used to be. If it's a fast run, you get what you see. If I'll be with others, I try to primp a bit, but at home, like I said, what you see if what you get. LOL
GREENBACK Ok, I'm smiling when you said you don't wear a bra when home. Me? I don't need one, LOL just kidding but definitely not oversized. LOL Age definitely has brought changes to my body! But I just take it as it is. LOL
ICOOK I'm sorry you're still not well. I hope the cough medicine they recommended helps you. Don't let it go to long and become something more serious. Keep warm, eat some chicken noodle soup and put some Vicks on your chest and a warm cloth over it. That's a home redemedy that mom and dad did for us as kids.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone. In a few days, about 7-8, the days should start getting longer. But who's counting? LOL

Good evening to all!
Starting to feel better. Don't know where I got it, but I got it. The runny nose, stuffiness, sinus headache, fever. It sure wiped me out. A day and a half in bed and I'm feeling so much better. And Zinc didn't help me at all. Been taking that since Mom passed away. That aside, Praise God for letting me get better. Silly I know, just a cold, but I rarely ever get sick so when I do I seem to think I can hear the undertaker calling. LOL. I do know one blessing from this, is that with all the medicine I took my achy bones aren't aching.
I go next week for another blood test for the para thingy. I'll be eager to see what the results are there.
Enough of snotty noses and tingling ears and throats.
We are to have rain Sunday and Monday. Wish it were snow but that isn't going to happen. I guess that would be a good time to prep for my raisin filled cookies. Mamma, I tried to make your cinnamon roll cookies. Boohoo! Something went terribly wrong. Wonder if my cold had something to do with it. I made the dough and put it in the fridge as I do with all cookies I'm making. It never got 'stiffer'. I couldn't roll it. Well, I did roll it between two pieces of parchment paper but then it was stuck so bad. I got mad and into the trash it went. Maybe someday I'll try again. Just don't know what I did wrong.
Ted's SIL died on Tuesday morning. The funeral was today. She had cancer in quite a few organs. Kids didn't even know. She lasted one day in the hospital.
My grandson is now stationed in Florida. They got a house to move into hopefully tomorrow. He is a little closer. Not by much but is.
Well, I need to go do some things. Everyone have a wonderful evening.

JUSTME So sorry you're sick! I guess what works for one doesn't necessarily work for the others. You have to be healthy and strong for Christmas. After all it's just 15 days away. But who's counting??? And I bet on December you will be counting again and again. LOL
I'm so sorry about your DSIL. It's hard to believe her children didn't know she was so ill. I hope the family will be comforted in good memories.

Hope you both get to feeling better, IC and Wanda - bummer to be sick this time of the year. Wanda, sorry to hear about your SIL also - SO, so sad.
Ellie, glad you had a good day and got lots done. Remember, when I take my bra off, I can also put my boobs in the drawer, so I really don't need the bra when no one is around. They are heavy and warm, so somethings that's good in the winter, but they do get warm in the summer. Now, that's way more than you wanted to know, I'm sure.

Doc wants me back in 6 months. He doesn’t like my lipid results, but they have not been good my whole life, nothing new there, they never change. And he mentioned the white count, which I told him I have dental work that needs to get done, but not until spring or summer. I’m not concerned about any of it, I couldn’t care less about any of the tests, to be honest with you. But I’ll go and have more blood work done in June and see him again to satisfy him. Then I’m done.
WAnda and IC, please get well soon.

GREENBACK I literally, honestly laughed out loud when I read your post. This is a true story one of the patrons who came in my salon told. She worked in a nursing home and there was an elderly lady who needed help getting dressed etc. Well one day when they dressed her, they unintentionally put her boobs in her slacks. She said it was a true story. I'm ok with little boobs. LOL
CINDY So many things that go with aging. And Dr. appointments, test, etc. are a part of it. I think we all get "sick and tired" of them. Rest well tonight!
