Good morning all, there is coffee and Christmas lights. I thought the Yeti had to take his nephew to the airport, but doesn't, so it's coffee time. I have most of the decorating done, but need to go out and finish three wreaths as soon as it is warmer in the garage. Also, have to get cookies ready to go to the History Center tomorrow. I just got a text asking if I could work today. Um, no, but thanks for thinking of me. I do have a zoom meeting tonight at 6:30, but that is all. I got a lot done yesterday, but did take some sit-downs. I put up a tree with Clark (Christmas Vacation) did the stairwell with Ralphie (Christmas Story) and had Four Christmases going in the background. Now, to clean up part of my messes, I am simply not putting some things up, the Yeti said there will be a tree here when I get back, I gave my requests of what it should be. Best get something done sooner than later. Blessed be everyone.

Good morning
Yesterday I kept pretty busy. I looked all over for candied cherries, the red and green ones like for fruit cake. But there was none to be found anywhere. Giving up I made some more mock turtles and some coconut macaroons. Mark and Lincoln don't like coconut so I've never made them. This year I made them for me. Lots of dishes to do and an afternoon tootle completed my afternoon. In the evening my cousin Patty called to see how I as doing and then Barbara called. They were checking up on me.
Last night I took some NyQuill so I could get some much needed sleep. Too many nights of not sleeping so I brought out "the Bottle". That stuff works better than any of my sleep aides. I slept pretty darn good and didn't get up until just after 7. I should be ready to tackle the day, whatever it may bring.
There is a park meeting this morning that I plan on going to, then I may start on another kind of cookie....if I get the butter out of the fridge NOW. There, that's done. I forgot to do that last night. Oops, I need to pay the electric bill before the meeting.
The seat covers for the golf cart came yesterday so I would really like to get them on before the meeting too. I hope that I ordered the right ones and they fit well. I used the rest of my birthday money from Barb and David.

Good Morning Ladies - - - IT'S 34 and partly sunny - - So good to see the sun after the gray weekend. I can't say I did anything constructive yesterday - - just a bum! I did have some phone calls that took up a good portion of the afternoon. Not much planned for today, but no shortage of things I could find to do, so will see what happens.
Laurie, I'm am so proud of you the hear you said NO! I didn't think that was a word you knew! I know the wreaths will be beautiful and the cookies tasty and when you get the tree, you will make that beautiful as well - - pictures of any or all would be welcome.
Mamma, glad your day went well yesterday - the coconut cookies sound great - I love coconut. How nice to get the seat covers - I also hope they fit for you. How the meeting is productive and lots of things will be talked about and hopefully, addressed!
Carolyn, sorting through those papers can be a big job - I have to check them over carefully to see if it's something I need to keep or not! Thanks for the coffee.

Goodmorning grannies,maybre it will still be morning when I post this. Yesterday was a busy day and I never did get here. Went to church and home for lunch. Then it was time to leave for the Christmas concert. The concert was an all volunteer group along with the children's choir. Nice Christmas music. Five of the Litzke kids were here fo for the day while mom,dad and others completed the move. They have a BnB for two weeks.We took four of them to the concert. Then to DQ for ice cream where I had peppermint ice cream with hot fudge topping, ofcourse the whip cream and cherry on top. If you like peppermint and chocolate you might want to try this!We try to get some of the ice cream into the freezer to use later. A favorite for dd and me!Yummmm!I treated all of them at DQ telling dd I would spend it now rather than leave it for her to spend!
Laurie,sounds like you are getting to some fun stuff for Christmas. Hope Yeti gets the tree up for you.
Mamma hope those seat covers fit and that job is done.cookies sound soo good.Wish I could have coffee and a cookie with. Glad to hear that you made on kind that you like. Not much good about being alone so be good to yourself when possible.

Grammy, I just got some peppermint ice cream the last time I went to KS and they have a wonderful do on it. I use to make a dessert for Christmas of a crushed Oreo crust, then spread with a half gallon of the PM IC and spread a jar of ch. fudge topping and a layer of Cool Whip and sprinkled a few more crushed Oreo's or crushed candy canes on top -- It was so easy to make, and nice to keep in the freezer for when ever you needed a piece of two. I haven't done that in a long time now, as not many desserts here unless it is for company or coffee gals. My sis made it after having it at my house and served it for her garden club in Dec. Don't know if they still do that, as I know covid changed a lot of stuff there also.

Greenback that sounds good! But this is so easy. A scoop of ice cream and some hot fudge Add the whipped cream and cherries if available! Not many desserts here either how about a treat when you are out sometime.

Good Afternoon...
Thinking of Debbie & Mike today.
i was up early and out the door by 8:30. Took my mom to the cemetary to put Christmas flowers/wreath on my dad's grave and the relatives next to him. Then we went shopping. She wanted to get Penny & Teddy Christmas gifts, which she was successful. We had lunch out and a quick stop at Meijer for a couple things and back home. That was a days worth and I'm ready to sit.
Yummy...Greenback...that oreo/peppermint dessert sure sounds good. I might have to try that...maybe for our Christmas dessert this year. Do you have a specific recipe for it or just wing it?
Grammy...hope the family can find a permanent place soon. That will be a lot of moving around...and not a long stay at the BnB.
Mamma...I need to start on my cookies..just can't get in the mood for it. I do need to make some for the church event this weekend...so I'll have to get crackin on that.
Carolyn...I wish I could come over for coffee. That would be fun. Do you know where Cookville, TN is? My cousin and his wife live there. I've never been there but by the way they describe it, it is very pretty.
Lauriet...glad you could say "no". There is so much to do at this time of year, you need some down time to get it all done.

Sadly the seat covers will not work. So they are being sent back. I'll have to come up with a plan B.
The meeting was all about the activities and I don't partake in any so I left early. It was too cold to sit anyway.
Lincoln called and explained to me that he and Maria are working on getting some kind of life alert for me for Christmas. In the mean time he asked me to give his phone number to my friends Mike and Patti. So if he doesn't hear from me each day he can call them to check on me. Patti thought that was a great idea. That is all I've done so far.
Mandy is due to go "out" now and when we get back I have some veggies to cut up for snacking. That is all for the day.

Mamma...that is a good idea. My moms friends have my phone # and I have theirs...just in case. Sorry the covers didn't work out.
I've decided I need to get back into some kind of exercise routine. I know I won't always follow it, but I'm going to try. Today I walked (part on my outing today with my mom and the other part on the treadmill) for a total of 3.5 miles.

I'm really late today. I got on the computer two hours ago to post. My girlfriend Julie called. Then I brought Delores some homemade chicken soup. Just put my nightclothes on. Only dressed about six hours each day Nightclothes on as soon as it gets dark. I'll be showering soon & wash my hair. Hair cut tomorrow morning. I really need one
Had to call maintenance this morning. My dryer isn't working It runs but no heat. Maintenance said heating element went.
Grammy I don't like peppermint I would taste it though Never know I might like it.
