Good morning, or rather, burzy morning. I see that the temp is 11* but feels like -1*. Yuck! I need to leave a few minutes early today, so BBL, blessed be.

Good Morning...
It's sunny but cold. Today is the coldest day we will have this season so far. Only a high in the mid 20's.
Yesterday I went to visit my mom. We had planned to go to the cemetary in the morning, but it was cold and snowy which wasn't good for her to walk on uneven ground when you can't see what you are stepping on. So we just went for lunch instead and I stayed and visited for a while. We will go next Monday to put Christmas things on the graves as it will be much warmer (40's) and I'm sure the snow will be gone by then.
Sunday was DD's craft fair and she did quite well. She was happy with the results.
I plan to put my little tree up today and get the other things I want to put out. Penny & Teddy will like looking at what I have when they come on Friday.
Mamma...happy to hear the gc is gone and you can now look for another one.
I read yesterdays posts but now can't remember what I was going to comment on...LOL Seems to be the story of my life anymore.
Coffee is ready and I have dunker donuts for anyone that wants one. Have a great day.....

Good morning. Not as cold as yesterday but still cold enough for us to bundle up. Warming to 74 today and the only day this week with minimal wind. Windy summer and winter/fall is starting out the same. Ugh.
This morning I have a load of laundry in and when it's done I'll be heading out in search of a golf cart. I have three places I want to check out today. And I hope I can find one that I can afford and is newer than the one I had.
Maybe just maybe I can get to my roll out butter cookies this afternoon. Or at least sometime this week. Time will tell.
CJ, I'm sure your DM enjoyed lunch out and the chance to sit and visit with you.
Yes, Laurie, that is cold. But quite typical of where you live. Too far north for me. hehehe

Goodmorning grannies, a cold morning here and not getting much warmer! It was 19* this morning and temp will stay in the 20s today brrr. I saw a few snow flurries earlier this morning! Warmer days will return starting tomorrow.
Laurie..was that you I saw dashing out the door??
CJ sounds like a nice day for you and mom. I'm sure she enjoys the time spent with you. glad to hear that dd had a good day at the craft fair.
Mamma glad that cranky golf cart is gone to someone who might know how to keep it running. A better one for you sounds like a good idea. Wish it would warm to 74 here today. I need to find the winter coat since it will soon be colder here.
I do have a strange looking Christmas tree. There is only one string of lights that now work and they are on the bottom of the tree! I have no plan to mess with them. I could turn them off or maybe I'll just leave them lighted. Maybe the Christmas tree gremlins are busy here but I did notice the big ,12 ft, tree upstairs has some different lights. It's a pre lite tree, lt looks like some of those light are not working! I see some twinkle lights in different colors!
Time to see what needs done here this morning.

Grammy our tree is a pre-lit and there just isn't enough lights on them so I add extra strings. I like lots of lights. One year we had our lights all on our big tree and tested, so we proceeded to decorate. After a couple hours a strand in the middle of the tree went out. We were not happy, but not about to start all over. It looked odd but oh well no one else saw it but us.
This afternoon my new(er) golf cart will be delivered. So many were junk and no warranty. So I ended up spending a little bit more than I had intended. But the cart is in very nice shape and it has a 90 day warranty. It's longer than my other one so I hope it will fit ok in the car port. I'm anxious to be able to tootle around and not be concerned if I will get home or not. It has cloth seats which is a real bonus to me. I don't like my butt to get burned or frozen. LOL Mandy and I will be taking a nice long tootle today as soon as I get the cart.

It's a cold one here too, 26* and flurries have been falling since I got up but none to be seen on the ground. I slept late this a.m. It was 9:00 when I woke up. I must have needed it and I'm thinking a nap is a short while might happen too. I have a roast and cheesy potatoes in the oven. I've had the roast for a while and it was time to use it.
CJ I love the excitement in the kids when they see all the lights and Christmas things. They just aren't young long enough, I dreaded when they stopped believing in Santa. I'm just young at heart.
MAMMA Congratulations!!! I hope you and Mandy have a wonderful afternoon just out and about enjoying your new GC. I'm glad you found one that fit your need and pocketbook so soon.
GRAMMY My tree is still waiting to be put up. I need to let the kids, DGD/and spouse that I'm ready. Do you let it lit all day or wait until evening to turn it on? That 12' tree would be way to tall for my house but I bet it's a beauty.

Mamma, so glad you found a golf cart that will just the right one for you and Mandy to tootle around in.
DD was able to get the lights working again on the tree working again. The big tree upstairs has some different lights added to it because Chef wanted it to look more like his childhood memory of home. I never liked those twinkle lights!! Glad I can come home to look at my tree it's also about half that size!Do you all have what I call a my memory /Christmas tree. Lots of the things on the tree have memories of special times or places. I have a special little candy cane made of pipe cleaners by DD#1 when she was in Kindergarten. Lots of other things from places we went on our travels. All is once again merry and bright here!

Today was super busy Christina took me to the oral surgeon He released me, but said if my regular dentist thinks I need more surgery to call him. He said to stop by to say Hi to him & the office staff. Been seeing him since January. Made a trip to the drug store for meds. Post office for Christmas stamps & the grocery store. Got my pork roast to make with sauerkraut for New Year's Day Got it for half price. My best friend Julie stopped in too. She goes to a church service near my apartment on Tuesdays so she tries to stop in when she can.
Very cold & windy here today & tomorrow. Got my heavy coat, gloves & scarf out. Wore my new ELVIS Santa hat. This one plays ELVIS singing a Christmas song Christina ordered me batteries from Amazon. Couldn't find them at any stores. Got my warm ELVIS boots out too.
Mamma I got rid of my Christmas ornaments when Earl & I moved into the apartment. Only kept a few my aunt crocheted for me. A friend of mine gave me a small tree so had to get ornaments again. Got miniature ones from Amazon.

Good afternoon, grannies. I come to you seeking prayers, please. Mike's mom passed away suddenly this morning. We are doing OK, just processing everything that happened so quickly. She had been doing fine, but told Mike's sister that she didn't feel quite right this morning when Cori talked to her. Apparently, Evelyn (DMIL) got in her car to go to her regular class at the healthplex in town where she took exercise classes to improve her balance, etc., faithfully. From all indications, she got to feeling worse, got out of the car, left the garage door up for someone to be able to get in and got to her couch, pushed her life alert, and then apparently fell to the floor where the paramedics found her and worked for quite some time with no success in reviving her. My DMIL was one of the finest most Christian women I have ever known and if ever someone would be met with "well done, my good and faithful servant" it will be her.
By the way, our Christmas tree got downsized considerably this year, but I have two trees upstairs, one here in the kitchen and one, a vintage one, in an antique wooden box in the living room. Our tree that the gifts go under is now a table-top size, but, not tiny. Our ornaments are a real hodge podge, nothing classy about them at all. I collect a Christmas tree ornament as my take-home souvenir from every place we visit and also have all the girls ornaments that they picked out each year and were always related to their current activities. Thus, I have lots of basketball, softball, character, and homemade ornaments on the tree, including one made by Mike when he was in 1st grade! Love the memories they bring back each time we decorate the tree.
Thank you in advance for your prayers. Hug your loved ones tight for we indeed never know what tomorrow brings.

Grammy, our tree used to be a "memory" tree, but I lost all those memories in the fire. Now it's nothing tree, no memories just a tree with boring decorations.
Almost 4 and my cart isn't here yet. I'm not a patient person.
Debbie my deepest sympathies and prayers.

My little tree is up and it took me much longer than I wanted it to. One string of lights didn't work, so had to go get another box. Hopefully all the lights will stay on till after Christmas. Every year I say "next year I'm getting a new tree" but so far haven't done that. This little table top tree doesn't stand straight...so from different angles it looks like it could tip over at any time...LOL I'm going to say it again..."next year I'm getting a new tree". My ornaments don't have any meaning...just small sized ornaments I've gotten over the years. My big tree I used to have, which was really pretty, had lots of ornaments that meant something to me. All those are packed away in a "keepsake tote".

Dear Debbie, You have my sincere sympathy. What a gift she was and gave to her family to know that she loved her Savior and as you said, heard those words we all want to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant." I pray you, Mike and family will have peace and comfort as you go through this time. Hugs and prayers for you!!!!!
