It's a cold 44º this morning so Mandy and I took the car. I do't need golf cart air conditioning when I can feel a cold coming on.

Last night I felt like the cold was trying to grab me so back to the Zinc. Ugh, that taste is so very nasty. But it usually will keep the cold at bay. This time of year no one wants to be sick. There is just too much to do for that to happen. And every arthritic joint in my body was already protesting the colder weather. I had to break down and take something for the pain, and PTL it helped. I also took my stronger sleep aid and low and behold last night it worked too. When I woke up and looked at the outside temp, I just wanted to stay under the covers where I was nice and warm. But alas I have a Mandy. The golf cart ride was not going to happen today either. The cart wasn't real happy to be moving this morning and took three try's to move. Hehe, I didn't want to move this morning either.
I'm so happy that the mini split is working this morning, it was only 64º in this room (craft room). That is way too cold. It is just a morning full of miracles.
No inside church for me this morning. I don't want to spread my germs or catch any others. I've had to change my flu shot time and date again. It was scheduled for Monday but now it's for next next week. I'd rather get the golf cart sale final first and that is on Monday.
Blessings to all, have a wonderful day.

In the 40's here also. We had a delicious meal yesterday at my DS and DDIL. I ate too much and brought a to go plate home. Last minute I decided to stay home, and not go to South Carolina, weighed all the odds. Weather and etc. Hope everyone of you are feeling well . I am watching a Christmas movie.

Good Morning...
It was a nippy morning here too. It is now in the low 30's, so that's better. Snow is expected to start soon...maybe an inch or so.
DD is doing a craft fair today...so I'll be going to that in a little bit. She's selling her knit hats and knit Christmas decor. She's doing it with her best friend and her mother. Her mother is my next door neighbor and she takes care of my cats when we go away. She is a quilter and has such beautiful things. I've seen a preview of some of the things she will have there.
I'm starting to get a few Christmas things out. I did the bathroom with the shower curtain, towels and rug. Maybe later I'll get some of the other things out. I'm not really in the mood yet, so we'll see.
Mamma...glad to hear the golf cart sold. My friends that have a place in Mesa, AZ, just bought a golf cart LOL.
Carolyn...sounds like you had a good meal yesterday and can still enjoy it today.
Have a great day everyone......

I slept late again this morning. Tomorrow I have to be up to get my Meals On Wheels. It was nice sleeping late the past few days. No sun today. Some showers later. I made cookie dough yesterday so will be baking them today. Probably do a load of laundry too.
CJ I have all my Christmas things out. Tree takes the longest to decorate. I have a very small artificial tree. Not allowed to have real ones where I live.

Good Sunday morning and a belated Happy Thanksgiving to my grannie friends. It's been even more hectic than usual. All the family were here for Thanksgiving and we had a great time. I got smart and we did the handprints on the Christmas table runner after our meal on Thanksgiving rather than wait and do it on Christmas Eve. Now I can have this year's handprints out for the season rather than putting it away just a day or so after we do it on Christmas Eve. We may only start getting two years at most out of a table runner rather than the three or four we used to get-- Eli's hand is getting so big it takes up a lot of room! It is always fun for the kids to measure the growth in their hands from the previous year and I love the tradition of having the handprint-adorned table runner each year.
Funny fact, my "new" oven (I keep calling it new even though I've had it for two years now), updated a week before Thanksgiving and we got the giggles every time the timer went off this week as instead of the usual sound it was a turkey gobble! The youngest grandkids, especially Josie Mae, thought that was so funny! Wonder if we will get a "ho, ho, ho" at Christmas time?
Trinity spent the night before Thanksgiving with me and together we made three batches each of pumpkin spice, chocolate/peanut butter, and monster cookie protein balls for DD#1 and DSIL to give out for the Christmas Around the Square event last night at their town. The area businesses, including their gym, participated in a cookie walk for which tickets were sold and they thought protein balls were more appropriate for their gym than cookies. Trinity was very good help and we made a great team making them together.
Mike had a bit of a setback in his recovery and was very quiet and very careful all this past week. He finally started feeling a bit better on Friday. I got all the outside decorations out of the basement and some loaded in the side-by-side and got all the inside decorating, other than my tree, done. I should have counted the number of times I went up and down the stairs that day. You would think my rear would be smaller because of it, but no such luck--LOL. Yesterday, DD#2 picked up Eli from his dad in town and she, Eli, Amelia and Josie Mae came out to help with the outside decorations. They didn't get here until after 1:00 so we didn't get everything done, but she held the ladder while I put alternating red and green lights in the under soffit lighting outside and in the porchlights on either side of all the outside doors. Eli and Mike put the lights on all the outside bushes and Eli got the Bobcat out and brought the big tractor tire that we have painted green up to the tree in the yard where he dropped it off, staked it in the ground, and I decorated it with large red bells to make it look like a huge wreath. He also hung the big wreath on the peak of the porch roof. He and Mike planned to build a manger for the blown plastic nativity scene we have, but we woke up to very light snow and freezing rain this morning. They did go out after breakfast (ham, eggs and homemade biscuits) and put up the back porch and back yard decorations (we live at the junction of two blacktop roads and as much traffic sees the back of our house as sees the front), but came in very cold and damp and I don't think the nativity scene and manger will be going up today. After lunch (pork chops in creamy mustard sauce, homemade augratin potatoes, green beans and homemade chocolate pudding), I will be taking Eli back to meet his mom in town. Mike scared himself so much with the setback last week that he has vowed not to ride anywhere for at least a few more days and hasn't been in a vehicle since Tuesday. I do hope he can recover without further setbacks, but was glad to see him get out and do some things yesterday as I think he was being a big too cautious--which is very unusual for him so I know he was hurting and concerned that he had undone something from the surgery.
Time to get going on lunch. Feeding a 15-year-old strapping boy is fun, but a full-time occupation! LOL Wishing all a wonderful Son-day.

Good Afternoon Ladies - - - It's just past noon, and a chilly 28 - Partly sunny, so makes it look better out there on our new snow! I didn't plan on church today as last night they were talking about the snow and it was coming down when I went to bed. I would guess only an inch or inch and a half. Jen called me late yesterday afternoon to tell me they were going to stay at her DB's last night as they ran into snow on the way there, and deceided not to go any farther and wait for daylight. I guess there was more south of us, so glad they waited and appreciated that she called. It may not be much snow, but I am so concerned about falling that I am much comfortable being home if I don't have anyone with - and I know, I don't have far to walk to get in the door at church, but it only takes one step and down you can go! Of course, I would be embarrassed if it happened there! I have a load in hte dryer that should be almost done, and I think I would like to start wrapping some gifts today and I can see what I have forgotten that I have. I have a tub in the bottom of my closet that I put things in for the kids and Dawson since they sleep in the spare room where I use to keep those things. I think I am good with Daren & Dawson but maybe need another things for Jen. Darcy gets money since she doesn't come and that is what she wants - she gets herself whatever she wants, whenever anyway, so this works out best. I think I may need some little stocking stuffers yet. Mamma, I am sure you are excited about getting the new GC and can hardly wait! Hope the deal with the lady works out well for you. Hope you knock the cold in the rear too! Carolyn, nice to have that plate of leftovers - that's what I miss not have it here - love a turkey sandwich. I will have to settle for the chicken salad I made yesterday - - - Sorry that your trip didn't work out. CJ, hope the craft sale going well for Laura - do you think you will find anything good for yourself? Fun to look at and then I think I should get that and get home and wonder where I can put it! IC I know you will enjoy your tree and decorations - I don't have much out, but enjoy the things that I do. Debbie, sorry to hear about Mikes setback, but good that it slowed him down to not have damage done. Sounds like you had good helpers getting the outside decorations out and dinner ready. Now wouldn't it have made more sense to have Eli on the ladder and you on the ground? Those protein balls sounded like a good choice for the gym. Grammy, I hope DSIL is over his mourning of the game and could enjoy his BD. Laurie, how is the wreath making going? Hope to see pictures. Ellie hope you are feeling better/

It's a perfect day for a nap! And I've already had one, might be another on coming! LOL No church for me today, but I watched it on-line. We've had snow that so far isn't sticking but they say we might get up to an inch. I'm not going anyplace today so it won't affect me. Tonight is our Prime Timers get together but again, I won't be going. Tomorrow I get blood work done and what ever else but not sure what.
I am feeling better, but not quite up to par. It sounds like the turkey leftovers are a big hit!

A half hour power nap and a big bowl of Malt O Meal and I felt good enough to do dishes and mix up the roll out butter cookie dough. It's in the fridge for another day. I'm not pushing anything today, just slow and easy.
Elle I'm glad you are at least feeling a little better. Yes, a good idea to stay in and get some more rest. Prayers continue.
Jane, staying home is better than chancing a tumble. I missed church on line, but I can watch it later. That's another nice thing about on line services.
CJ, I hope your DD does very well at the sale today. One of these days I'll venture out to one just to look. I so enjoy all the talent.
Back to my recliner and rest until it's time to take Mandy out. Nothing else planned for the day.

I just got out of the shower & put on my Christmas PJ'S Always feel better after a shower. Cookies are ready for the oven & laundry for the dryer. Only a few dishes to wash tonight.
Elle I'm so glad your starting to feel better.
Jane I'm always afraid of falling. I'm using my walker in my apartment now. If I use my cane someone has to be right next to me. I'm losing my balance all the time now.
Didn't eat anything yet today. Made a pot of Mushroom Beef Barley soup the other night. Think I'll eat some of that. Later tonight will be an egg salad sandwich. Haven't made that in a long time. That will taste good.
