Good Morning....
The sun is shining but very cold. Not going to warm up past 32* today.
Yesterday was a nice day with DD and her family. Everything changed quickly. It went from 10 adults to 6. DSIL's aunt and uncle didn't make it. She had knee replacement a week ago and thought she would be all better by Thanksgiving but that wasn't the case (which I knew that was too soon to be going out). So that was minus two. Then DSIL wasn't feeling good and once his mom heard that, she said she wasn't coming as she didn't want to catch what he has. He went to urgent care to rule out strep and covid which were negative, but she still didn't want to come. So they came by quickly and dropped off the food she had made. DD made up a goodie bag for them to take home and eat at home. So, it turned into a more intimate dinner. It was nice as the Great Grandmas got to spend much more time with the kids. Penny & Teddy really warmed up to them which made them both happy. All in all, it was a good day.
We will have the kids today. I think DD and DSIL took today off for DD's birthday. Can't believe she is 37 today. Crazy how time flies. She was born the Monday before Thanksgiving and we came home from the hospital on Thanksgiving day. The hospital gave DH & me a turkey dinner in the hospital before we left.
Have a great day everyone....

Good morning all! I hope you didn't get too full of turkey or whatever you chose to eat. We were at the IL's, turkey, lefse, lutefisk ( ). I don't do lutefisk, nor the oyster dressing, but the rest was very good. I went out to the garage to check on MIL's outdoor lights to start putting them up. Some didn't work, some were missing bulbs and couldn't find the extras. Oh well, I talked to her about them and last night got a message that BIL and his kids will do all of it this weekend, inside and out. I guess I am off the hook on that one. Later today we are to get pine boughs, but if it turns into a big thing, I'll go get some myself later this weekend. The plan now is to go to the history center on Saturday when my aunt is there, then to the farm over night, church on Sunday and stop at a different aunt's on Sunday. Let's see how much of that happens? There's still coffee, help yourselves.

Good morning. Boy did I feel old. Usually I can get all the Christmas decorations up in a day. I don’t even have 1/4 of what I use to have and I couldn’t finish. I quit before my arm got sore but an hour later my arm got sore. So I’m babied it all night. No shower either. Just let my arms rest. The craft room looks like Santa dumped a mess in here. Maybe I will get to it today or tomorrow.
Mandy enjoyed porch time all the while I made the mess. Hehehe She even took two of her toys outside with her. Of course I had to bring them in when I closed the doors. Now she has one of them in here. She is really being silly today too. I think she is just so happy to be able to be outside after being trapped inside all summer.
My steak dinner turned out so very good. I even have enough steak for another meal. I’ll have it for supper tonight. One less thing to think about.
Last night was not a good sleep night. I tossed and turned all night. Not from any pain, just one of those rotten nights. Maybe I'll catch a few z's in my chair this afternoon. Or maybe I'll sleep better tonight.
Yesterday morning I got the beef roast sliced and into the marinade for jerky. It will stay in the fridge another day and I mix it a few times a day to make sure all slices are well coated. Once in the dehydrator it will take a good chunk of the day to dry. Oh how I love my jerky for snacking. The stuff in the store is too soft and bland, and it spoils easily because it is not dried enough to be "real" jerky and keep once the bag is open.
No outside lights this year, I really don't think my arm will be able to do the task. It takes two people and I'm only one now. So a few bells hanging on the awning and gate will have to do the job.
CJ, a nice intimate dinner sounds so nice. I'm sure the great grandma's love the extra time with the kids.
Laurie, no snow will melt under your feet.
IC< floors need attention here too. I raised a lot of dust yesterday. hehehe

Goodmorning grannies, looks like winter is at the door. It's a cold, cloudy and windy day. I will be inside today. Yesterday felt like Sat and I kept thinking church in the morning. I believe today is only Friday so maybe I'm no longer confused about the what day of the week it is.
Thanksgiving was great, lots of fun and too much good food! No leftovers? Never fear I think a turkey will be done here on Sunday for DSIL's birthday at least there is one in the fridge defrosting. The 10lb weight loss it is turning back to 5! I need to eat less and exercise more!
The cleaning girl will be here today, they will be gone tomorrow. I hope to get all the cleanup from Christmas decoration done and some other stuff that needs done.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Sunny and chilly, but a nice day - - - We also had a good day yesterday.. The kids got here about 9:30-9:45 on Wed. night and then we all stayed up till midnight talking. Yesterday we got up and went to Jen's folks and were in their heated garage as her SM's sister is in a wheel chair and that is where she could get with no steps. We had turkey, smoked turkey and ham balls and way to much other food. My dessert only had 3 pieces out of it and I did end up taking a dozen or so of the pumpkin bars and they were maybe half gone. After we got home, the kids brought up my Christmas decorations and we put them out - not many according to most homes, but at least it makes me feel like it's the holidays. Dawson had a good time playing with the deer and trees I put on the coffee table, so I need to rearrange that. After that we ended up with frozen pizza. They are up and gone now as they wanted to stop at the jewelry store to have her rings cleaned and checked and they are taking the greenery saddles to the cemetery and then they will head to Decorah to be at their friends to watch the Iowa game that starts at 11:30 I think and will stay there tonight and head home tomorrow so they have Sunday to catch up at home. The plan for Christmas is they will come here after work on the 22nd and then will go to her Dad's on the 23rd and Josey will hang out with me, then they will come back and stay her for 24th and then head back before it's to late on Christmas day. Always glad to have them here, but it does change my routine. I am happy to spend what time I can with them and can catch up later. I think a nap will be in the plan for today, but then there is BB to watch also. I don't watch the football. Glad to read most everyone had a nice day, and CJ, sounds like your day turned out well, even with the change of plans.

We had 12 at our dinner yesterday. Some watched football and some played games. We all ate, and ate, and ate. So good. I do have some leftovers and they probably won't last long.
A few hours after I got home, I started feeling "yucky." A sore throat and just achy and tired. I went to bed at 9:00 and got up at 8:00 today. I'm still not feeling well so it's a do nothing day. Napsssss for sure. The DGC was planning to put up my Christmas tree today but I don't want to expose them so that will happen later.

Hi again, we did a load of wood this morning, the chainsaw needs to be sharpened before we can do anything more. Next I'm going to get off my duff and go the the basement since I need to take the rest of the Halloween stuff down there and try to organize it as well as getting the Christmas stuff out. I need to get the boughs but I am really hoping it doesn't turn into a thing. I could always get them when I go to the farm tomorrow. The number of wreaths to do keeps growing. Hopefully I can get an easel made to be able to do them standing up, my cousin has one and it is slick! It's so much easier to see how things hang rather than putting them together laying on the table. I'm sure there is enough scrap wood around here to make one, I asked the other day about hinges too.

I've been busy all day. Did a load of laundry It's dried. Just have to fold. Nothing important that it can't wait a little while. My back is telling me enough. Taking a SSD I finished decorating my tree. Been doing it for three days. I was at it a good hour or so today. Almost done swiffing the floors. Tomorrow is dusting day Maybe I'll start making cookies over the weekend. That's a big MAYBE
