Good morning!
I'm headed east today after a doctor's appointment and time is flying. It's 'sisters day' and I'm ready for it.
Mamma, you had mentioned about cookies. I also only make certain cookies at Christmas. Raisin filled and cranberry tarts are only at Christmas. The cranberry tarts aren't hard to do, but the raisin filled are so time consuming. They are requested. Should make them more often because BIL gives us raisins that he gets in his food bank food.
And talking about cookies, I made/baked chocolate chip cookies with pudding added to the mix (they are yummy) and also baked the Oreo peppermint cookies (yummy, too). My poor thumbs weren't too happy, but they have time to get happy again. Tomorrow will be Thanksgiving prep and peeling potatoes is another thumb aching chore. That's it then.
Well, time is flying. Need to get dressed and do this hair and be out of the house in 1/2 hour. Yikes. Run, run, I gotta run.

Good morning This is the first year in, I don't know how long, that I have no Thanksgiving prep. It really feels odd not having a huge turkey thawing in the fridge and no bread on cookie sheets drying for the stuffing. No mess at all for me this year. I don't like turkey so it won't be missed. Mark is all that I miss.
The other day I got a letter in the mail stating that my insurance company will no longer cover mobile homes. I have until Dec. 14th to find another company. I've sent my agent an email asking for help. The fire we have still makes an impact on who will cover our home even though the fire was no fault of ours. For the last three years I've felt like one of those punching clowns that keep getting knocked down and expected to get back up. One of these days I won't be able to get back up. I too tired.
Last night I went through my recipes and made the list of things that I still need for my Christmas baking and such. But without a working oven I'm not sure I'll have anything special this year. I just have no faith that the oven will be fixed in time. My luck isn't so good this year.....again. Anyway I'm not sure to send in the order with faith or just say the heck with it all.
Boy am I a grumbly mumbly this morning. Thanks for "listening". I'll quit now and have some more coffee. Maybe an extra cookie will sweeten me.

Good Morning...
It's bright out there but no sun to see. And it's quite crisp temperature wise. Not sure what I'll do today. I had thought of some things, but now can't remember what they were...LOL That seems to be happening more and more lately.
Justme...enjoy your sister time.
Mamma...Hope the oven gets fixed or replaced soon.
I have cookies I only make at Christmas, too. Every year I say I'm not making as many kinds but seem to always make all of them anyway. We don't need that many cookies anymore so we'll see what happens.
DD came and looked at my computer and was not able to fix it. She didn't have a clue either. Maybe I just need a new computer.
Not much news so I'll wish everyone a great day.

Good Morning Ladies - - Like CJ, it's bright out but not sunny! Breakfast is done but I think I need another cup of coffee before I hit the shower. I did make a run to ALDI's yesterday and don't have everything put away yet. In fact the bag with can's in, is still in the garage. As I got my cart to the car, the guy parked next to me came, and I said can you get by me, and he asked if I needed help. By the time I got to my car, I was wore out, so I happily agreed and he put the rest in the car for me and said I will take your cart back and bring you your quarter. I said thank you, but you keep the quarter. He came with it and I still insisted he keep it. This is the first I have shopped in person since my fall, and I under estimated my stamina. I was very thankful for his help as I was not looking forward to the walk to take the cart back. I forgot 2 things on what I really wanted, and that makes me so mad. One thing I wanted was all gone, but otherwise I was happy with what I did get. Laurie, have a good week - thanks for the coffee. Just Me, hope you sisters have a good day and happy potato peeling - - That's a job I really don't mind. I always sign up for that when we have our church supper. Mamma, sometimes we just have to get things off our chest and be grouchy. Now that you have done that, I hope you will have a better day. Insurance companies sure are picky these days, so quick to cancel if you have a claim. CJ, I bet you are looking forward to not make the TG dinner. I'm sure you will bring something. Will your Mom be going with you? IC, that's the reason I don't bake much for Christmas any more. They don't eat it unless they would eat the gingersnaps, maybe-maybe not, and there I have them. I sure don't need them, so better that I don't make them. I'm sure everyone will be extra busy this week - I hope you all have a good week.

I need to go to Dollar Tree for a couple b'day cards and pick up the thing I forgot at Kroger yesterday. I didn't want to get out of the long line yesterday to grab that thing. I can go today and it won't be as busy.
Greenback...how nice of that guy to help you out. Yes, I was glad not to have to do a turkey. I'll be making rolls (I get to use my new mixer for them), apple pie and a sweet potato dish. And both our moms are coming. DMIL & DD share a birthday (birthday buddies).

Hi everyone, I am home. Spent weekend with my cousin. We attended the birthday party. There was 32 total people there. That was Saturday. Yest. we went to Church. Ate lunch at Mccallisters. In the evening we went to another gospel concert. It was a good weekend. I came home this morning. It was cold indoors but feeling good now. Mamma, do you have a toaster oven? I use mine a lot, even bake cakes in it. Take care everyone. Take care ☕️

Goodmorning grannies, a dismal morning but the sun is trying to shin now. Temp will stay in the high 40s this afternoon with rain on the way for tonight.
Lots of chat about Christmas cookies. I never liked to bake cookies . when dd#1 could make cookies the job was hers then to the next dd who always enjoyed the baking. I just want to eat them so please send some to me. I remember IC bringing cookies to our grannie meets. Mmmm. I've been playing with my Christmas things this morning the tree won't go up till after Thanksgiving but it's all in here from the garage just waiting to be put in place.I'm so slow I might have it done by Christmas. I even have a new cassette player. I have lots of Christmas tapes but no way to play them.I took a look and Amazon has lots of them so I ordered one. The speaker isn't the best but do I care. I'll enjoy the old tapes and the others oldies after Christmas. I have some other things out also a Santa and Mrs.Santa with a toy bag, today I decided to clean out the toy bag and found pcs of newspaper in the bottom dated 1974! Fun to find those so I just put them back in the bottom of the bag. What a surprise someone will find when they clean it out.
Greenback,I'm so glad you allowed the man to help you. I was slow to learn that when I accept help it is twice blessed once by the receiver and again by the one who helps. Now I graciously accept the help and say thank you. It's easy to forget that it's as far back to the car as it was the first time and I'm tired then.
Looks like the stole came thru the wash OK now to see if I can press it

Good afternoon to all, it's two minutes after noon, so indeed afternoon--LOL. It is a dreary, chilly day here with light rain, but not the all day good soaking rain we need. I wimped out and rode my recumbent bike in the basement family room rather than do my walk outside today. Then, I vacuumed the entire finished part of the basement--our monthly pest control plan is worth it when I see the dead bugs and spiders that get in the corners. That's what happens when you live in the country and are surrounded by hayfields. Then, I got the gifts for France organized and boxed up, no way it was all going in one box this year, so two boxes it is. You will probably hear my jaw hit the floor when I find out how much shipping is going to be.
I will be making a caramel apple pie for Thanksgiving today and also making some energy/protein balls for DD#1 for a cookie walk their town is doing with area businesses and she rightly thought those kinds of treats would be better for their gym to provide than cookies. I hope to make three kinds, but I need to find out how many to make. Supplies were bought at Aldi's yesterday after church, but I thought I had pumpkin here and didn't get any, then came home and found I don't have any!! But, I can still make the monster ones and the chocolate ones.
Mike kind of overdid it this weekend which was even more hectic than usual, five basketball games, family pictures and breakfast, and yesterday driving his new truck to church and grocery shopping yesterday which is a bit difficult for him to get out of right now in his current condition. Getting up and in is not a problem, but he kind of slides out and he has decided he won't do that anymore. He is really taking it easy today, I think the twinges he reported having yesterday afternoon and evening made him realize he is not back to normal yet.
Time to get some lunch and get something made to help prepare for Thanksgiving and that cookie walk this weekend. Wishing all a marvelous Monday.

Debbie, men seem to think they heal faster than they actually do. Mark pulled a few bonehead moves too. They learn, slowly but surely. hehehe
Oh boy, I hope I did the right thing. A month ago I made an appointment with my pain specialist for tomorrow. My shoulder has been good since just after I made the appointment. I've learned what and how long I can do things to avoid the pain. And I have had many pain free days. It's rare I take Naproxin or Tylenol for pain. Even the topical is hardly ever used. I actually can't remember the last time I used anything. So I called and cancelled my appointment. I just couldn't see going in when everything was good. The injection would still have had to wait and I don't need it yet. The only way to get the injection is to consult with the PS before hand. If I don't need the injection yet, why see the doctor, right? I know the cookie baking will be an issue, but it is with the injection too if I don't listen to my body and stop before it gets bad. I called Marks sister for her advice too.
The north wind is so cold and add that to the chilly 64º. I'm bundled up even in the house and Mandy has her sweater on yet too. She has made no indication that she wants it off. I only have the thermostat set at 69º. Putting on another layer is cheaper than turning the thermostat up. And I like wearing sweatshirts and sweaters. Best part about winter.

Good afternoon, just a quick check in. There hasn't been much sunshine today it's in the mid 40's and windy. I've made and received several phone calls today and I went to Aldi's. I thought I would go to W/M also but decided not to, maybe tomorrow for that. I went to Joan's and bought their fleece fabric that's on sale for $3.99. That's 75% off, can't beat that deal. I have a friend in TN who is facing health issues and want to make her a blanket. The theme is hearts and dog paws. She's a total dog lover. LOL
Waving to everyone!
