Good Morning....
It's a beautiful morning with sun and pretty skies. It's going to warm up to near 60 today.
I'll be heading to get the kids in a bit. DSIL said he was sending Teddy to school today. We'll see when I get there. He was good yesterday, happy and smiley all day, but you could tell that cold has him down. He's very congested and trouble breathing through his nose. I'll keep him again today if need be. We had a good time yesterday. And Penny was so happy to see me when I came to pick her up from school. She gave me the biggest hug.
Coffee is ready...only a few donut holes left...DH has been into them. Have a great day.........

It's a pretty day out today, looks like we had a hard frost again. The Yeti is out in a deer stand somewher, he was already out and about when I got up. Yesterday was a busy day, got home and ate and went to bed. I'd made a tater tot hot dish the other night, one for here and one for the farm. I didn't stop anywhere on the way home to eat as I knew that was here. Well, I had pizza rolls instead. I was driving on a side street last night and saw a deer walking through someone's yard in town, then I saw one when I was turning off of the interstate out in the boonies, otherwise, they are staying in the woods-good for them.
My brother got a stint yesterday, had a consultation for the sleep study that is next week (I had the day wrong) and then another test or two. Whew, I need to get myself into better shape. Sitting here with tea hoping that will help my throat, two Tylenol for breakfast and looking at my to-do list for today. I think I'll finish this and have a short snooze after the woofers get fed. There is some jelly that needs to be finished in the fridge, I'm about out of half pint jars, I'll need to look for more or bigger jars it'll be.
BBL, Blessed be.

Good morning Not quite as chilly this morning but still cool enough for my winter jacket. Riding in the golf cart makes it feel colder than it is so I dress for the ride. When I was riding motorcycle I dressed for the "slide".
Plans changed with Jill again. So I moved my to do list up a day. She asked about doing something on Friday but I did not commit. She always changes plans so I'm not going to commit to anything with her anymore. I'll just play it by ear.
First on my agenda is turn the hot water heater UP. It's in the shed because the previous owners wanted a bigger unit than what is usually in a park model. With a dishwasher and clothes washer a bigger hot water heater is needed. But being in the shed, in the winter the water cools down a lot before it get to the inside of the house. Our water pipes in Yuma are not far under ground so water in the summer is always hot and in the winter is cold. And I'm tired of a luke warm shower and water not hot enough to really clean a greasy pan. My friend Mike said he didn't know how. When his wife told him that I am doing it myself, she said he felt stupid and wants to come help. He can watch but I need to do this for myself. Maybe now he will turn theirs down. Patty said her is way too hot.
I think I'll put up my tree, make popcorn balls and divide the lemon chicken into meals today. Not that I'll eat it as is, but I will put it in soups. That is if it doesn't have a lemon flavor. If it does I'll give the chicken to someone else that could use it. Lemon does not belong on any kind of meat for me. It belongs in water.
Second cup of coffee is needed. Happy Wednesday to all.

Back from taking the kids to school. Teddy was really confused and the look on his face when we pulled into the school and his teacher came out to get him. He thought being in my car, I was taking him to my house. He was almost ready to cry. Penny told me she wants me to come get her earlier today as she doesn't want to stay so long. At 3 the kids go home from the normal school day, but the after care kids stay until parents come get them and that's usually 5:30 for them. I think I'll go get them around 3:30 and bring them back here to play a while before going home. And we'll have them tomorrow as we changed days with the other grandparents. The weather will be around 60 and sunny so a nice day to play outside.
DSIL had everything under control when we got the kids this morning. Both were dressed, already had breakfast and he was packing their lunches and back packs. He also did Penny's hair (with her curls, it needs total styling every day). They both share the duties of getting the kids ready in the morning, so he knows what needs to be done.
Mamma...I love lemon chicken. I have a few recipes for lemon and chicken. DH loves it too. Hope you can get the water heater to your liking.
Lauriet...hope you get to feeing better today.
Today I'll cut back my mums and, hopefully, get the Christmas lights on the tree out front. I want that done while the weather is good. I also cut my Montauk Daisy, that LINY gave me many years ago at a meet, back. I've never done that until spring but thought I'd try in the fall and see how it goes. Usually in the spring by time I get to it, it is already putting out new shoots that I don't want to cut off. I hope I don't kill it. It looked really pretty this year.

I have had baby company today. I love and cherish every moment I get to be in his presence. I got a haircut yesterday and got new tires. While out I went to the grocery store. Only spent 12.00 there. Mamma, do you make your lemon chicken from scratch? I would like your recipe. I made sweet n sour chicken Monday. I picked up some yarn with my vacuum cleaner. It may be burned up. I have a new belt just in case that will fix it. I do have another vacuum that is heavy. I have a small one that I like. I am supposed to go to Cracker Barrel tomorrow with the senior citizens. CJay, hope your little one gets over his cold soon. I will be back later ☕️☕️

Good Morning Ladies - - - Just had my oatmeal and a banana - got my stop in to KS yesterday, AND AM READY for another cup of coffee, but thought I would come here first. Yesterday seemed like a busy day and it went by fast. I went and paid and picked up my auction item win before coffee. It is a small picture that is on 2 dowel sticks so it sits, rather than hang. It has a black a background and Santa is painting on a horse, and the verse that I liked so well is - Every time we love, every time we give, it is Christmas. Then the credit for the verse is Dale Evans Rogers. Did I need it - no, Did I want it - maybe, do I love it - yes! I did an on line order at KS in the afternoon and went and got it and the young kid that brought it out, put it in the front seat, and said how about I get in the back and we go for a ride - - Such a nice day, I think he was looking to get out and have some fresh air. I had no clue who he was, but a nice, friendly chap. I visited with my neighbor as she and a couple of gal pals went up and spent the weekend at there lake condo, so she was telling me about that. Before I knew it, it was time to eat, so I had a chicken tender that I got a KS and fried a sweet potato and had a couple of pieces of broccoli, that was all that was left in here, and didn't want to go to the garage to get another bag. Then it was time for the Voice and when that was over, it was a late night game for the Hawkeye BB boys. It was 11 before that was over. Here it is, 10 o'clock and 52 on Nov. 15. Nov. is sure flying by in a hurry too! Today, my project needs to be getting the spare bedroom back in order. The kids will be coming a week from tonight, and they need to sleep in that room. CJ, good news to hear Teddy is well enough to go back to school. Did he fuss when he realized he wasn't going to your house. I know you are happy that you can help the kids out. Laurie, I hope you get to feeling better as the day go's on. You must have a pretty good supply of jelly now, or else you eat a lot of it. I'm sure some go's to the farm and #1 and probably more places. Glad to hear your DB is doing better - that stint will likely make a big difference and the sleep study is a good thing. If he quits breathing during the night, it is hard on your heart, so good to have that done and treated if need be. Well, I have been here long enough and I really want and need that cup of coffee I am waiting for.. Tomorrow I will be gone all day again for lunch with the HS friends. Just 3 of us this time as one has already left for FL.

Good sunny morning, 55*, beautiful fall day. Yesterday was prayer meeting day then home, lunch and a long nap. I didn't do much of anything all day. Today is coffee at the Cabin and as of now, I plan to go. Just not feeling up to par lately.
CJ Thanks for the donut holes. I love your sharing your DGC with us. They are so lovable and you're just the greatest DGM.
LAURIE Take some to rest today. I hope you get well real soon.
MAMMA I wish I was there to QC your popcorn balls. I love p/c balls and haven't' had any for years. I was always hoping the kids would get them when they went trick/treating because they didn't like them and I'd eat them.
ICOOK I don't have any Christmas things out yet but I think it will all be put out the day after Christmas. Enjoy the nice weather.
CAROLYN I long for cuddle time with a baby. It's been years since there's been a baby in my family, 23 years. I know your little one loves you and enjoys all the cuddles you give him too.
GREENBACK I'm still chuckling about the young man who wanted to go for a ride yesterday. LOL Maybe he wanted to get out of work, but I think he was being a friendly young man.
It's time to think of something for lunch then go to the Cabin. TTYL

Carolyn, I do not and never will make lemon chicken. I don't like chicken or lemon on my foods. LOL So I'm giving away the rotisserie chicken to a kind neighbor. Enjoy your precious baby visit.
I was in tears when I got to the hot water heater. The panel that needed to be removed was on the lower part of the heater. I can't get on my knees because I can't get up!!! So I had to have Mike do it for me. He is so kind and knew how badly I felt but reassured me that he is here to help me with anything he can. I just hate bothering people. Anyway we hope the thermostat got turned up and not down. He will fix it if it's not right. I'll know later today if it's hot enough to bring water that is hot enough, into the house. They leave on Sunday for a family gathering so I have a couple more days to get it right if need be. Praying it is perfect.
Jane you did have a very eventful day. What a nice young man you had to put your order into the car.
Now if I can find a better mood, I need to clean the fish bowl or Happy will jump out of his dirty water. Not sure about the tree anymore. I need a better mood to do that.

Good afternoon to all. It is another beautiful day here in central MO. Mike is doing well; he is getting bored and starting to try to find things he can do. We both didn't feel up to par yesterday, stomach-wise, so we both kind of took it slow and easy yesterday. Although, I did get up early yesterday to go meet DD#2 at the garage where they get their van serviced and took her and her co-worker to Enterprise car rental in order to get the car they had rented and they headed to Nashville, TN, for a work conference. Then, I did a bit of shopping and got back home, went to take my walk, but stomach wouldn't let me, so I came back home and went to the basement and sorted out all the Christmas presents I have bought to date and started the big sorting and bagging process. Those cloth canvas Christmas bags are the best purchase I have ever made. Just put everything for each person in their bag, pull the drawstring and, voila, wrapping complete!
Today we have both felt better and Mike is working in the garage. He walked a bit of my walk along with me and then headed back home. I finished my walk, came in and dusted a couple of rooms, cleaned out the antique Hoosier cabinet and the antique ice box in the kitchen/dining room, I now have some chicken breasts cooking in a homemade seasoned broth on the stove (butter, poultry seasoning, celery, carrots and onion) and a pot of turkey pot pie soup going on the stove. Grammy, I need your DGSIL to teach me knife skills--I take much too long to chop up veggies. I will use the homemade broth in the turkey soup and the chicken will become baked chimichangas for tomorrow night. After talking to you, my friends, I am going back downstairs to finish the Christmas mess I left down there and to start thinking about packing up all the things I have to ship to my penpal and her family in France. I am dreading the cost of shipping! But, I cherish our friendship! I also need to dust the two bedrooms I haven't gotten to yet. But, my ambition is slipping. I need another week before Thanksgiving--I have a lot to do to be ready for next week. Although, we have a local lady, who used to run a clothing boutique, she has now closed the boutique and started a company called "To The Table" and she cooks for others once a week, puts a menu out on Saturday, you pay online and she cooks it on Tuesday and Wednesday and you pick up on either of those days. I don't make very good dressing, so I ordered dressing (stuffing) from her as well as a very good looking autumn lettuce salad she had posted and even a dessert--pecan pie bread pudding that everyone online was raving about. So, that leaves turkey (breast), sweet potato casserole, a green veggie, rolls and two more desserts for me. DD#1 always brings mashed potatoes and #2 brings corn casserole. This lady's price is reasonable and I had been wanting to try some of her stuff, so this seemed like a good time.
Elle, popcorn balls always remind me of my mom. That's what she made every year for the trick or treaters and grown kids still came to her apartment even up to last year to get one of Betty's popcorn balls. She used a recipe that called for jello in the mixture that was stirred into the popcorn and she would use orange jello for Halloween and red if she made them at Christmas time. I don't like popcorn balls myself, but everyone else seemed to love them. Hope you feel better soon, my friend.
Love to all, time to thicken the soup. It's turkey pot pie soup, so needs a little substance to it.

It must be soup day! I made my dutch oven full of spaghetti soup. I haven't made that yet this year and not sure if I made it last winter or not, but I always like it and it takes a bit more time to put together, or at least today I thought it did, but probably not. It has some chopping involved too, and I increase the amount of veggies I do use, since I am trying to get more of them in my diet. I planned to work in the spare room but by the time I got my soup made, I think there won't be any standing around now. Tomorrow is a day of play, with my all day lunch gathering, but then I really need to buckle down and get moving on it! Any way, I'm looking forward to my bowl of soup tonight. Debbie, so good to hear that Mike is feeling better and wanting to be up and around. I can't imagine there is anything you make that isn't good! I have been looking at the pecan pie bread pudding picture and thinking how good it looks - looks rich, but wonderful. Mamma, sorry you had to seek help for the water heater, but how nice for both of you to share helping each other as you showed him how to do it and he did the bending for you! Ellie I hope you were able to go and join the coffee gals. I think that young man was enjoying the nice weather and just wishing he was out in it. Carolyn, how fun to have that baby come visit every day! I wish I could go to Cracker Barrel once in awhile. IC, are the decorations up?

In spite of my lousy mood I put up the Christmas tree, not a good idea in the mood I was in. It just made me more angry that I had no decorations from the past and I don’t like the decorations we had to settle for last year. I hate messes so that added fuel to the fire. Gosh I’m a real grump today. Maybe I should just go back to bed and hope tomorrow is better. It’s just a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day….. to quote a book. Great title for today. Oh I hung some white Christmas lights above the front windows in the living room. They will stay up all year long too. I love lights and hopefully they will be a comforting mood lifter when needed too. It was a lot of work to do alone, but at least one good thing came from today.
The temp is dropping and the clouds are getting darker. Looking at radar we could get some good rain today. I just hope it stops, at least for a bit, while I take Mandy out tonight. Although maybe the rain would hose down my lousy mood. hehehe It's now time to put the long pants and slippers back on, I'm getting chilled. LOL
When I took Mandy down at 2 Pam was in the pet area. She asked how I was and I said grumpy. She was kind enough to sit and chat and try to lighten my mood. Her thoughts were that I was grumpy because of the holidays coming. She may be right. And she stayed until Mandy was ready to go home. It did feel good to have some one listen and talk to. Instead of me doing all the listening.
Jane, the soup sounds so good to me. I've got a recipe for spaghetti soup too and have not made it in years. Enjoy your soup.
Back to my pity party for one.

Laurie - - I keep forgetting to tell you that there was also a fire at Kee High in Lansing - I think it was Sat. or Sun. night. It was electrical and started in the boys bathroom.
