Good morning A chilly 52º this morning as we headed out. Mandy was more than happy to put her sweater on. She put her head and legs in so nicely, never a battle for her to put on her "clothes". I too was bundled up in my husbands winter coat and my earmuffs. But I should have wrapped a scarf around my neck. The cold air went right down, burrrrrr.
This morning I go to the CPA and hope he can give me a clue as to how much I will have to pay in for taxes since the SS office messed up. He will also fix my SS income so I won't have to pay next year. Since we have been on SS we have never paid in just got $$ back. Living from check to check there isn't much left the way it is.
Last year in November Mark got me a new stove and microwave for my birthday and Christmas. And wouldn't you know it, one week after the warranty went out it isn't functioning properly. The oven will quit in the middle of a function and I have to turn it off and on again. Same with the two right burners. If I am not paying attention what ever I'm making would get tossed. I've called the company. Can you believe that I have to pay for an answer to my question? I know I would have to pay a tech, but answer a question? Never will I ever purchase an Amana anything again. Now that I can use the oven again it won't work right. Grrrrrr
I may stop and pick up a burger on my way home from the CPA for a lunch and supper is not yet decided. I"m not sure what I'm hungry for yet.

Goodmorning grannies, it was a chilly 31* this morning with a frosty white on everything. All too soon that will be snow! For now the frost is disappearing as the sun begins to warm things. temp will be in the 50s today.
Mamma sorry to hear that you are having some problems with SS and taxes. Everything went very smoothly for me. A chilly morning here also but I sure wish for some warmer days. I get I get so cold especially my hands get so cold they ache. I suppose it's age and pills! I used to laugh when my dm had her gloves on in the house! Now I understand and it's nothing to laugh about.
My laundry day has been changed from Mon to Wed since Chef is now home on Mon. he will try to keep their laundry done up. Hope I can remember to get my things ready on Wed! Twelve years for Mon now to make a change!
A couple of my prescriptions had to be renewed, new Drs and new Pills created a problem.I think dd solved it with a phone call or two.The pharmacist at the Dr office said a local pharmacy worked at getting more things due at the same time. Seems I need something refilled every week! Well, maybe not quite that often but is sure would be good to get more of them filled at the same time.
Must be time to do some pick up and put stuff where it belongs

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a beautiful day here at 48 and sunny! I think this is to be a nice week until Friday when it cools down. Every nice day shortens the winter! I went to church yesterday morning and then came home and had breakfast and went to the fantasy at 10:45. It was busy busy until about 1:30, with lots of young families coming to see Santa. Then there was a switch of Santa's and piano & harp music students, but without the church children choirs, the crowd isn't as big as it use to be then. Miss the kid choirs. Lots of beautiful tree's and auction items. I did a quick look at the auction items but only looked at the trees that I was by. I go back for the afternoon today and then it's all over tonight. Mamma, sorry to hear of your stove problems - I feel the same way about GE - I will never get those again, but then I shouldn't need to be getting more at my age! You are bundling up at 52 and I am thinking we have a heat wave at 49 - just went up one! I read yesterday but now I can't remember what all was happening - Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend and now it's on to a new one! Have a great day ladies.

Good Morning...
It's very sunny again and warming up into the 50's this afternoon. I might head out for a walk after lunch.
I decided to try the new bread recipe that I was going to do last time, but changed my mind and made the rustic one. I have another question for those that have the mixer....mine came with a pouring shield which I figured I would need since I would be adding more flour. Well, I can't get it to snap into place. I've read the directions, watched a video and still can't get it on. DH was going to try and said you have to forcibly push to get it on. I said no don't do that..it could break or damage something. So he left me to figure it out. Any suggestions if you had trouble getting it on? I ended up just setting it on the bowl (not securing) and it worked but I sure would like to be able to make sure it's on good.
Mamma...I sure hope you can get everything straightened out at the CPA so you won't have to pay. How frustrating with the appliances...hope you get some answers and help.
Grammy...better tape a note somewhere so you'll remember the new day. Sometimes it's hard to break old habits.
I have a very friendly squirrel coming right up to my door wall window and tapping on it. I guess he wants peanuts..lol DH has been putting them out when he sees this squirrel. I opened the door a little and threw some out to him...he was happy. Wonder how soon he'll be back?
Have a great day everyone......

Good morning to all. My morning walk is over and we had breakfast of apple cinnamon pancakes (from a box mix) and bacon. Mike walked a bit of the way with me on the flat part of the road and then came back home as I continued on. He is doing well, but tires easily which frustrates him.
We did go to church yesterday and Sunday School, too, he took the elevator at church rather than the stairs. I got the big linen closet cabinets and drawers in our master bath finished yesterday afternoon and got a couple of other little things caught up. Today's list is ironing, dusting and cleaning the three upstairs bathrooms. Also making a new recipe for supper. cheeseburger pasta. If I have time, I want to get out what I have Drew for his birthday so far so I can see what else I need (his birthday is 11/22) and I will also gather up what I have for Christmas so far to see what else I need there. I do need things for the great nephew and niece for sure. Not with them enough to really know what they like.
Jane, I always enjoy what you tell us about the fantasy. It sounds like such a wonderful annual event!
CJ, the pouring shield just gets in the way, in my opinion, so I never use it. But, I feel like I am a messy cook sometimes when I have splatter or flour outside the bowl. l
Mama, I had similar experiences with Whirlpool appliances.
Grammy, our pharmacy sends us a message, "would you like your prescriptions scheduled for fewer pickups?" We say, "yes, definitely!", but nothing ever changes!
IC Cook, we are to be very nice this week, too, highs at 70 for the next couple of days.
Time to get some things off my to-do list. Wishing all a marvelous Monday!

It's another sunny day here too. I'll enjoy it as long as I can. Chatted on the phone with a neighbor this a.m. and other than that, not much more got done. I might go to the grocery this afternoon. I did have a text from DD too and a call/message from Center well pharmacy about my prescriptions. They way it's time to renew, but my bottles don't say that. I'll be giving them a call. I also need to call the Dr. office, he changed a med and it's not going over too well.
MAMMA I was told that one company, I don't remember which one, makes most of the appliances now. I have had 2 new ice disperse on my frig and need another one. Not going to do it, I make my own cubes. Grrr. I think is so cute that your dress Mandy and that she likes it.
GRAMMY I'm like you, I remember mom being cold and me thinking how can that be. Well, I'm my mother now. LOL And my kids don't understand that either. As a teen, mom and dad knew nothing and I knew it all, then later, inly 40-50's, it was, ok mom, that's you but it won't be me. Well, I am eating my words. I'm my mom all over. LOL Tie a string on your finger to remember laundry day. LOL
GREENBACK The fantasy sounds like fun and very beautiful. Was it good to be helping again? Christmas is closer than we think. LOL DGD and DD have their trees and decorations up. That's early for me but after Thanksgiving, DGD and DGS will help, (actually will do most) with decorating for me.
ICOOK Relax day for you!! I don't plan on any cleaning here either. But we'll see as the day progresses. I hope Christina is feeling better.
CJ A nice day for a stroll outside in the sunshine. Good luck with the mixer cover. I don't one like that so I can't help. I bet you'll figure it out. Good luck. Do you feed the squirrels the peanuts in the shell?
DEBBIE We squeezed in the door at the same time. I'm glad Mike is doing well. Healing never seems to come fast enough. You've got a lot accomplished already this a.m. I could use some of your energy.

Good morning! Well, got an extra day off this week. There was a fire at the school yesterday in a mechanical room, it was contained, but no one is allowed in until the Fire Marshall clears it due to smoke in the building. I was to be there today and Friday, so I am home with time to myself.
Something will happen to the stuff in the fridge today and the Yeti made pickled fish this morning. We've down two pickup loads of wood too, yay... There's stuff that has to get done at the IL's too, I imagine I'll be needed for that. My agenda went out for the meeting tomorrow morning, I still sound like I'm trying to sing the bass part in a barbershop quartet and get really tired, so it'll be quiet on my front at the meeting. If I feel "cootie-less" I'll go to the farm, may wear a mask regardless. Then, my aunt Gloria was put on hospice, I'd like to see her, but if I am coughing I may not. The Yeti ran into my uncle at Fleet and he told him. On the up-side, both Covid tests were negative.
Rx discussion-got a call from Walgreens months ago, them wanting to put me on a 90 day cycle of Rx. Ok, fine. Then, never happened. 2nd to last time to pick stuff up, I had SIX different notifications that they were ready, three Rx in all, one said "if you do not pick this up it will be returned to the inventory." I called to say, "yes, will be there on ____ day, ok? It is over an hour to get there." They said yes. Got there, none ready for me. None, zero, zilch. Not my finest moment as a customer, pointed out the six notifications, etc, got the "we could fill them now...." Yeah, no. Go ahead, but I won't wait for them, this is ridiculous, etc. The Yeti went to drive through for them a few days later. #1 did a pickup for me this week, if I had another option I would do that. The drug store in town, so I've heard, is worse. Now, appliances, when we got married-bought a used 1972 mobile home from a friend of the Yeti. It came with some beautiful harvest gold appliances, also 1972. We got married in '86, moved them with us to Michigan in '89, then to Wisconsin in '91. We replaced the washer in the mid-90s as the timer went out and it had to be restarted by pulling the knob out about five times per load. Just think of all of that exercise, up and down the dungeon stairs! The dryer timer had gone out too, but was more $ than a new dryer, so we replaced that in the early 2000s in Cannon Falls. I would buy a Kenmore in a heartbeat! We have Samsung here, one year warranty on the washer, so, now when it doesn't drain right, it's not their problem. I feel like I am always musty smelling as a result, gross. All of the appliances in here are the same brand, they were stored in Fargo during Covid while they were finishing the house, Best Buy wanted to sell them as they had a huge demand and replace them when they got more, but we said no as we had no idea if they'd be able to get more when we needed them. We did have a White Westinghouse fridge at the other house, the door shelf brackets kept breaking, they only replaced them a couple of times and then charged me for them as they said I was "breaking them on purpose." Huh?
I think I'll finish my coffee, BBL, blessed be. p.s. don't have to help with the other stuff, my cranky attitude must've gotten me out of it. Oh drat!

Laurie - I agree, I loved my Kenmore appliance's and would also have them in a heartbeat if it were possible. When we got married, I clerked at an auction and had the chance to buy W & D that were 6 months old and we weren't even at the house yet, but for 135.00 each, I could store them till the house was done. I raided 2 kids on that set!

I am here. I have my sweet and sour made for my chicken, I will cook it about 3 or 4. My grandson requested it. I haven’t made it in a while. Actually he likes the chicken without the sauce but my son and I like it. it is beautiful here too. Sun is shining and I have the curtains open. I am getting a haircut tomorrow. And going over to get new tires, they may have to order them. Thursday is the dinner with the sr. Citizens at Cracker Barrel. That should be fun. There is not a lot of news here. So hope all of you are well. 🌹🌹

PTL. The CPA told me that SS does not have to have tax deductions taken out. It is not a taxable income. I am over the age qualifying for SS. Any other income over a certain amount would then need to be declared and taxes paid on that. I'm so relieved that I am safe from owing anything. I was so relieved the tears flooded my cheeks. Now maybe my blood pressure will go down to its normal.

Good evening, grannie friends. I finally had a moment to post a cake/frosting recipe that I've been wanting to share with you. It's one of the easiest and most tasty cakes I've ever made, especially layer cake wise. I made this for #2's birthday recently and it was impressive and oh so good. I thought you might like it, too!
