Good Morning....
Sunny and bright out there with a very crisp feel to the air. We will finish up the yard work today. And I want to go to Walmart or Meijer and look for some mittens/gloves for the kids to keep here. DD seems to always misplace their things and so they end up wearing mine (super large lol) to keep their hands warm when outside. And I'll look for some little slippers to keep their feet warm in the house. I'll have to check with her on sizes. Yesterday I had a pair of those aloe socks that I'd gotten as a gift from a school kid that I never wore so I put those on Penny...she liked them. They had kitties on them.
Yesterday DD said we are invited to her house for Thanksgiving.....YAY...don't have to think about cooking a turkey.
Happy Birthday Mamma. Hope your day is special!
Coffee is ready....Have a great day.

Good morning to all! It's bright but frosty out there this morning. Great November day!
I've got all my chores done but one. Oh, I could do more but it's clean enough to keep the health department away, and if it isn't clean enough for others, I'll show them where the duster, mop, and cleaning supplies are. LOL. I'm older and have more interesting things to do or not to do.
I'm up and walking better, thank you Lord. I keep remembering Job. Keep the faith.
Happy Birthday, Mamma. Hope you have a windless day so you can enjoy your porch or whatever else you plan to do today.
Debbie, I know what Mike is going through having had the attachment. After having DD#2 (c/section), I couldn't tell when I had to go so I got to keep the attachment for a few extra days. Joy, it was not. First time ever that I got to pee like a man. I'm glad I'm a woman. LOL.
I have now, of course, forgot all I was going to say. A thought passed through my head and when it left, so did all the other thoughts. Might as well go and put the towels away.
Everyone have a great day.

Good morning. A chilly morning with a little less wind and a touch warmer this afternoon. I swept off the porch yesterday but it really needs the leaf blower to do a better job than I can do.
Yesterday I enjoyed the last acorn squash I'll have. It was so hard for me to cut in half and my arm got really painful from the act. But oh it was so good. I had the squash with two chicken legs smothered in bbq sauce. I ate two big helpings of squash and two bites of the chicken. The rest of the chicken got tossed and the rest of the squash will be saved for another time. No more chicken in the freezer. Just pizzas, hamburger, steak, a bunch of tv dinners, and a few other items.
Jill had to work late last night so she will come today to help get my totes down. Next week I'll put up my tree and then after Thanksgiving I'll put out the few Christmas things I have and put away the Thanksgiving items.
Today I'm hoping to get the spaghetti sauce made. Then divide it into servings for one. I like to keep some on hand for quick meals. That is one tv dinner that I don't like. Mine is so much better.
Thanks CJ and Wanda for the birthday wishes.
Time to change the sheets......

Good Morning Ladies and a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Mamma. I hope your day will be special and that you will do something special, something that you especially enjoy! Have a good day! Thank you to all of our veterans as well. This is a very special day for them as well. I'm up early today as I have a phone call at 7:30 wanting reservations for tonight at the wine, cheese and dessert event. Why do people wait until the last moment? I will be surprised if I do not have any more calls today. I worked in the spare room a little yesterday and that's the way I need to do it, as I can't stand for long periods of time - there are things that will be donated, thrown away and put back, so I can forget about them again! LOL CJ, it seems like kids can never have enough mittens - they get wet and cold so quickly and the nice warm socks for when they come in again is a good idea. Great news for your TG invite. Will the mothers go with you? Wanda, so happy that you dropped in again. When your thoughts catch up with you again, come on back and share them!

Another nice but on the cool side day! I love the sunshine. DD came last night and did some programming on my Word computer program. Yay! Today is cleaning and laundry day. I'm not feeling all that well, but this too shall pass. I'm not sure what lunch or dinner will be. Breakfast was oatmeal.
CJ I chuckled when you said you was getting gloves for the DGC, if I remember, your DD knits, right? Well like they say about professionals, they fix everyone else's things but not their own. Your DD is so special to have you and your DH for Thanksgiving.
JUSTME Good to read your posts. You're absolutely right, we're older so we don't have to do "whatever." And I'm learning to live that way too. Enjoy the day.
MAMMA Happy birthday to you!!! The birthday wishes are sincere and we are thankful for you!! I usually buy the Healthy Choice meals but don't think they're all that healthy for me because of the salt. But once in a while is ok IMO. LOL I hope many good calls, cards and wishes come your way today.
GREENBACK Slow and steady wins the race so your spare room will soon be all neat and in place again. I really should do the same thing, but some days I just close the door. LOL
MAY GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY VETERAN WHO HAS AND IS SERVING! I am so thankful that I can go and come as I want because of their serving my country. God bless the USA
Enjoy the day everyone.

Hello all! There's still some coffee in the kitchen if you want some. Also some sweets on the counter. This cold is officially kicking my butt, pretty much lost my voice last night and didn't get up with the hunters this morning. We have one guest in the spare room, so I'm being quiet. My dogs are in the kennel and have been fed, watered, and adored. The guest dogs are in #1's room and have gotten the same treatment. The neighbor's dog got a gravely "Go Home!" from me this morning. He gets everyone barking. His person, I saw per Facebook, is in Nashville, so the dog is with the owner's dad (aka neighbor). Not sure what all I've got going right now, but we did make a run to the Amish store and the bakery yesterday, last night was spaghetti, tonight is tacos. One guest is a vegetarian and I am learning a lot about cooking from her. The meatballs she made last night were great! The rhubarb will get finished today and maybe I'll get the cushion cover done for #1, we'll see. I hear company, BBL, Blessed be.

Good morning grannies, a chilly 28* this morning with some sunshine and a high temp about 50 this afternoon.
CJ no turkey to cook is good news for you but I'm sure you could have done it very well. I do miss those times when I cooked the turkey with the house filled with people. Life does take a change for us. Those little mittens and slippers bring back memories also. I'm sure you will find just the right thing for them and it will be something they like.
Justme couldn't you just bring your sisters to the GN we have lots of empty houses. It would be so nice to have all of them here with the grannies. I'm not a Mrs clean either I feel the same way stay ahead of the board of health and hope they don't do a surprise inspection! Deer hunters are out here isn't it hunting time for you. Oops..this is bow season maybe you don't do that. We have a family that hunts on our property. The dd came down from the deer stand to find a big buck watching her! Too late to get it.
Mamma hope the spaghetti comes out just right and no more chicken for you. You know what I say about it one of the perks of living alone......have whatever you like. Nice to have some help getting Christmas things down for you. I see lots of outside stuff going up already. People taking advantage of the nice sunshiny time to get outside things ready. Our tree will go up right after Thanksgivings. This holiday season will be the hard one but take time to do something you enjoy.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ENJOY THE DAY!

Back from shopping and I got the mittens/gloves and slippers to keep at my house for the kids. Penny's slippers have unicorns in pink and purple and Teddy's is Paw Patrol.
Elle...yes, DD knits their hats but not mittens.
I made out like a bandit at Kohl's. Bought two sweaters and one was free with all the discounts/coupons. Can't beat that.
My Dad was a World War II vet in the Army. And my stepbrother was a Vietnam vet in the Army. Lots of uncles also served.
Time to head outside to finish the yard cleanup.

The sheets have been changed, washed, dried and put away. Jill came this morning and helped with the totes. They fit nicely under the big crafting table. So they will stay there.
Wouldn't you know it my car and cart need washing and the park just sent out a flyer saying no washing of vehicles in our lot. So should I take it to someone else's home? LOL A person can't drive a golf cart on the city streets to a car wash. I think I'll have to ask the office what they suggest. This doesn't seem quite right.
Lunch was a big bowl of Malt O Meal and a glass of grapefruit juice. Supper will be spaghetti if I ever get the sauce made. hehehe
It's gotten too windy to be outside. Not real bad, but not pleasant either. It has been worse.
Tomorrow Jill and I are going out to do something, today I'll not be doing anything fun. That is unless I make a trip to the $tree to get out. I would like some Christmas tree decorations. We couldn't find much last year since we were kind of late shopping. I need to go somewhere where I can get some cash too. The banks are all closed. And I really don't want to go to WM or into town. The $tree charges extra if you want cash back with your purchase.
Jane, slow and steady wins the race. It all will get done, no rush.
CJ, you surely did score on your shopping today.
Elle, I should watch my sodium intake better too. All of that pre-made stuff are loaded with it. But it beats having to cook when I really don't want to, but know I need to eat something besides cold cereal.
Laurie, take care of yourself and get well soon. The others are all old enough to do things for themselves for a change.
Grammy, Thank you.
Guess I'll go and do the dishes and get started on the sauce.
***Thank you all for the warm birthday wishes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Mamma. Hope it is a good one. 🎈 And, happy Veterans Day to all who served. I sure miss my 2, DH was a Vietnam veteran and was in the Cuban crisis. Aboard all these doggone air aircraft carriers, 5 to be exact. And my darling oldest grandson was in the Army 14 years. He was killed in a training accident. Only 33 years old. Glad you are here Debbie. I read back some posts and seen where you asked me if I used the whole can of pie filling. Yes, I do. That cobbler turned out good. I ate 2 servings of it and gave the rest to my 20 year old grandson. I made a cake this morning. It is called grandmother’s cooky crust cake. Baked in a tube pan and the top is like cookies. I had a lot of eggs and wanted to use them, and this cake calls for 8 eggs. I am on the porch soaking up vitamin D. I hope all of you are doing well. Yes, sometimes I do get lonely. I try not too. It is not a good feeling. I won’t cook thanksgiving either. I bought a turkey and the kids have ham. I just want to do my part. Just not cook.
Hope everyone is doing well. Take care.🎏🪄

Got a lot of the Christmas decor up outside. Have to take advantage of the nice weather. The lights won't go on till Thanksgiving eve though. DH still has to help put the lights on the bigger tree out front. He doesn't like it but he does it. Really doesn't take long as the tree isn't that big. As long as I test all the lights before we start, we are good to go. But I hate when we get them all on and then turn it on, and some of the strings only light half. Sometimes a little wiggling will do the trick.
Now to think what supper will be. Mamma might have given me a idea about having spaghetti. Not sure yet.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMMA
I'm not getting much done today. My favorite Christmas movie was on. Called the Christmas Card so I watched that Earl liked the movie too. Earl was an Army veteran, 13 1/2 years. Three tours in Viet Nam I get sad for the holidays I miss Earl so much.
Jane I can't stand long anymore either. Takes me forever to get what I can do done.

IC, I love love love that movie too. I've recorded it and watch it many times.
CJ, you got me. After reading that you were putting up the outdoor decorations because it was nice, made me think I should get to that too. Then I bopped myself in the head, it's always nice here. LOL I don't have to rush.
The spaghetti sauce has turned out quite well. Still needs to simmer a little longer to get the flavors gooder.
Mandy and I went for a short tootle around the park. And now I'm heading back to the kitchen to finish up the dishes and then watch a little tv. Patty and Mike gave me a 2024 calendar so I could add my remember stuff on it today.... if I feel like it. LOL

I thought about going and picking up a tenderloin basket for supper, but deceided I didn't want to get out so made potato corn chowder. It hit the spot then I had some butter finger ice cream! It is one of the seasonal flavors at KS - I would imagine it will be gone now that it's time for peppermint and eggnog. I like their peppermint, but haven't tired the eggnog. I like the drink, so I guess the ice cream should be okay too..
