Good morning, friends. It is to be a pretty day, in the 60s here today. We are up and at 'em, about ready to head out for four basketball games today--two for Trinity and then dash to another small town for two for Drew. Same league, but different towns, of course--couldn't be in one place! They play in this fall league and then will play in a winter league starting in January--no rest for these grandparents, but we love it. And, Mike especially wants to go today since we may not be able to go for a weekend or two after his Monday surgery.
We still have a bushel of apples I bought on Monday to be worked up, we will see if they get made into applesauce this weekend or not. That is the plan, but there just aren't enough hours in the day. I thought retirement was supposed to be relaxing???
Wishing all a great Saturday.

Goodmorning Debbie and all the sleepy head
Debbie you sure do a lot of travelling for those DGKs I know they like having grandparents at their activities as much as you like being there! We usually make lots of applesauce too.
Another dark and dismal day with no threat of rain. That's a good thing since the rummage sale continues today! The sale has almost hit $2000.00!! DD said if I have all this money why do we still have so much stuff to sell?? Because some people have given money and took nothing away. Such as a neighbor who took a look around the donated $100.00 he said he didn't need anything but wanted to help the family! The sale should be busy this morning then slow in the afternoon. Everything stops for football! This is OSU Buckeye land! Some of the workers can only stay till noon, football will be on TV.
The sale is the only interesting thing going on here. My cleaning girl should be here soon to get my cleaning done. I did get several nice pc of flannel, from the sale, Kathy will make receiving blankets and take them to the pregnancy center. She is very helpful and likes to give. She gets to sew and learn to donate to less fortunate.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's 36 and the sun is trying hard to shine - at least not another gray day! Not much planned here today. Yesterday I got the squash all baked and have a bowl in the frig and the rest in the freezer. Then I made a meat loaf which I have been craving for awhile, but left in the oven a little too long. It's okay, but I just wish I made really good meatloaf. I'm sure I will find some mischief to get into today. Debbie, here you are on the move again - - - Love that you can follow the kids in their activities and I'm sure they love having you there too. You keep so busy, that you need to go to the games just to have some sit down time. Hope they both win today. Grammy, wonderful that the garage sale is going so well, even with the drive to the country. People, most people that is, are just so kind and want to help. In a world of takers, it's good to see and hear about the givers. The receiving blankets for Kathy are a good idea - I'm sure she likes the idea of giving like the rest of the family. Have a great day!

Good morning. I wish I was a sleepy head and could sleep as late as I want to. But I was left with a dog to take care of every morning, early. It was a rough night so I did actually get to sleep until 6:50. Wow, a whole extra 20 minutes of sleep. And then it was hustle to get out the door with Mandy.
It is a chilly 54º this morning but a much warmer afternoon. The next three days it is to be in the low 90's. Next week, starting Wednesday, it will go back into the 70's for highs. On these cold mornings my coffee cup is cold when I take it out of the cupboard as I pour in hot coffee. So my coffee cools quickly. That and the fact that I don't turn on the heat in this room. (The two little vents can't cover this large room well) I'm sure later in the season the heat will go on just to get the chill out in the morning. So, anyway, my first cup of coffee cools quickly. Now it's time for a refill.
Just a little on the to do list that is left from yesterday. I ran out of steam yesterday, but what the heck, no one sees anyway.

The sun is in and out so far but I think we have a chance of rain this afternoon. The temp is supposed to be near 60*. I have sheets in the dryer and another load in the washer waiting to go in the dryer. Then one more load and the laundry is done for another week. DD and DGD and spouse came last night, and we played games. Can it be that slowly this will happen again? I hope so. I really enjoy game playing and most of all, the company. I need a new mixer so I might

Hello all! Today is the first day of deer season, I hear that DIL was successful so far. This is my least favorite time of the year, lots of stuff that falls into the "not my circus" category, so I'm trying to bite my lip. Tonight one of the cousins is singing in a nearby town, I'll go to it with his mom. Please excuse any and all whining, trying to have my glass be half full vs the other option.
DIL and I took a walk down Ticklebelly Road a couple of days ago. I'd pitched my hiking boots as they'd long passed their survival date. I was wearing tennis shoes with what I thought were good gripping soles, well, no. First wipe out was onto my right butt/hip. Embarrassing and so fast I couldn't catch myself~that was probably better than grabbing something and breaking something else. Spill #2, epic, pretty sure there is still a flailing looking print of me in the woods. Went down like ton of bricks, butt, hip, arm, shoulder and shoulder blade. Dang! The pregger DIL and two dogs got quite a visual. I am feeling it today and starting to bloom some impressive colors. I plan to take it easy today and do stuff around here. I should go to my space and see how much bubble wrap I have.....
There's coffee, help yourselves, blessed be.

Sorry about my previous post, my computer is not being nice and I think there's a problem with it. So I'm saying hi to everyone and hope the computer just had a hiccup and won't act up.

Dusting day for me.
Elle Cloudy here with a touch of rain expected. I'll be doing a load of towels & wundies today. Glad you had an enjoyable evening last night.
Grammy I have a recipe for chili that is different. You had pizza sauce & pepperoni. Haven't made it in a long time.
Jane I like meat loaf. Another thing I haven't made in awhile.
Mamma I had rough sleeping nights for a few days. Not last night. Went to bed a little earlier & slept late this morning.

Good Evening...
It's been a mild but damp day. Temp around 50/55 and just a few sprinkles.
We had the kids today and also yesterday (our usual day). Always fun but tiring. Yesterday they had a good time playing in the big pile of leaves. They were too wet today to do it again.
Yesterday, talking about how you make your chili, made me think about mine. I make it kinda like Greenback...adding ketchup after it's been simmering a bit. Seems to give it a nice flavor. That's how my mom made it, so I do too.
I just got a load of laundry going. I usually do it on Saturday but didn't have time to get it going with the kids here. Tomorrow I want to make a loaf of bread. A recipe I found from the Kitchen Aid web sight. Sounded good and easy.
Grammy...sounds like the sale is going good and raising lots of money for the family.
Hope everyone has had a good day (sorry about the falls, Laurie).

I forgot when we were talking about chili, I saw somewhere where you should use bloody Mary mix instead of tomato juice for a little extra flavor!

I've never had a Bloody Mary so I better stick with the ketchup! Might be good if someone cooks it I'll QC it.

Was it Grammy that adds ketchup? I thought it was Greenback. Oh well....I like it.
