Is every one sleeping late this morning?
It's a beautiful sunny morning with the temps heading for upper 50s. A good day for the rummage sale. Getting a little warmer tomorrow! Lots of stuff out there to be sold! Only pricing of the higher end things other things are donations. There was almost $400 from donations and workers sales before the sale started! The family will need it. The house they are buying will need some renovations to meet their needs.
The chili was a good thing to have for lunch yesterday as it was a chilly and windy day. Some remarked about how good the chili was.Just wondering do you add or take away from the usual meat, beans, onion to make yours different. I still like to make it the way an older lady taught me to make it many years ago. Add catsup to make it more flavorful. Yummy! She also added a potato or two. I think the potatoes were only to make the chili go further. Things were not so easy to come by then. One of the ladies brought wonderful chocolate chip cookies. Big cookies that didn't spread out when baked and full of choc chips! Big thick chewy cookies. She is starting a home based business.Off to a good start with those cookies and a few other items.
I will prob be asked to put the sandwich things out for lunch. sandwich, chips, drinks and cookies.
I was a tired grannie last night I fixed supper last night.Just a reheat of the chili add some cheese, crackers and a bowl of fruit called it supper.

Good morning. No grammy, I didn't sleep in this morning. I was up at 6:30, walked down with Mandy at 6:45, had coffee at 7:15, stripped the bed and put the sheets in the washer. It's now 7:51 am and I have my second cup of coffee at hand.
It was a chilly walk this morning, 52ยบ, sunny with no wind. I had thought of taking the cart, but it's not quite that cold yet. I'll continue to walk in the morning and evening for awhile yet. I just hope that when I put the windshield up on the golf cart that it will stay and not fall apart. It's a split one that I can fold down in the summer for air movement and put up in the winter to block the cold air.
Other than changing the sheets I really have no other plans. I lead a very boring life now. This afternoon I'll go and check the mail, how exciting is that? I ordered a pillow with more neck support and it should be here today. Not sure it will be comfortable for me, but I need to do something. I have arthritis in my neck so it needs some attention. I've tried so many pillows but nothing seems to work for me. Therefore I'm not going to hold my breath that this one will work either. I still have a touch of dizziness when I look down too. Ugh, old age sucks.
Having the winter quilt on the bed last night felt oh so good. I didn't wake up once from being cold. I'm so glad I didn't wait any longer to put the quilt on the bed. It is now 8 o' clock.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Yes, I did sleep in a bit - took awhile to get to sleep again. It's 45 out there but cloudy. Wish it was sunshine, but then you can't have everything. My plan for today is to bring in the squash that my sis and the cleaning lady gave me and bake them and then I can freeze most of it. I should put something in for supper as long as the over will be one. Meatloaf would be really good, but I will see if that happens. GRAMMY, I'm sure that the chili went over well, with the ladies being out in the cold. Glad that it is going well too! My chili is hamburger, onion, salt, pepper, chili powder, just a little sugar, a Tablespoon or 2, kidney beans, a can of diced tomatoes and a tall can of tomato juice. I do not care for the chili beans. My cousin didn't eat beans growing up, so my aunt always used elbow macaroni in stead of beans. Home canned tomatoes is always better, but don't have that option any more. IC, nice way to start your day with a visit to Delores. Have a good weekend and don't over do. Mamma, your life can not be any more boring than mine! I went down and picked up an order from KS yesterday and it's the first I have been anywhere since last Sat. when I got an order at Fareway, and neither time did I get out of the car! Glad that you and Mandy are walking down to the park now while you can - so good for both of you, and I sure wish that I could walk some. Well, I had better get moving if I want to get things done today. Maybe a second cup of coffee firt to get me going!

Good afternoon, it's been a busy morning but I got done what I hoped to. I have the 2nd load in the washer and that will be the laundry for today, the rest tomorrow. I'm doing some throw rugs and will put them outside since the sun is shining and it's not too cold. Yesterday was a busy bee day, breakfast with friend, a long phone call with another friend, then out for supper with family. Tonight DD and the newly weds DGD and spouse will be here to play games. Yay!
ICOOK It's nice that you and Delores look after each other. Does she get out much? I bet you take Tinker to visit her too.
GRAMMY The cookies sound good!!! and I'm glad the weather is in favor of the sale too. I also have onion in my chili and a small amount of chili's along with chili powder, garlic, salt, pepper and tomato sauce and juice. In fact, I have some in the freezer and that just might be my lunch, with some crackers.
MAMMA I hope the pillow will be the perfect one to help relieve the neck pain. I really think they can make a difference either way. I slept in again today. I wonder if I'll be waking up earlier when the time changes.
GREENBACK I think our weeks and days can change so much. Some weeks it's boredom and other times it's too much in one day or week. I guess we take them as they come. You'll enjoy the squash this winter. I have meatloaf in my freezer and it's one of my favorites.

Elle Delores' DD lives an hour away. She picks her up often to go to her house & helps her with appts. & whatever help she needs. Tinker pulls me as soon as we go outside. She has to see Delores. She lays next to her on the recliner. She did that when Santa was alive. Always slept next to him. She does the same with Delores.
Mamma Christina gets my mail when she is here I'll walk down tomorrow to get it tomorrow. I wait a few days to go get it. Mostly junk mail anyway.

What a good feeling to get something accomplished for a change. The clean sheets are on the bed, kitchen rugs washed, kitchen floor scrubbed, 7 pieces ironed, and got down to the water shed and filled 5 1/2 gallons of water. I use the water for my plants and fish. They need better water than I can get even with my RO system. Those gallons last me along time since I don't have a lot of plants and a small fish tank.
Last night I put together an egg bake and had that for brunch. I'll have the rest tomorrow.Tonights Supper will be a hamburger with tomato, lettuce and cheese. And baked beans as a side.
Jill just texted me asking if she could go to church with me. I am always happy to have her come with me. Even going to church alone is still hard for me. Days are getting better, but I've not yet had to go through the holidays. Oh dear.
This year I'm still baking Christmas cookies but not as large variety as last year. And I'll make some new ones. Mark never liked new cookies for Christmas. Although last year he loved the Cinnamon roll cookies. They were really good too. The meals will not be at all the same. This time I'll make what I like. As I said before, Thanksgiving will be steak and fresh mushrooms with some kind of dessert, but NOT pumpkin pie. Christmas eve will more than likely be sloppy Joes and Christmas day could be Chow mien. Not at all traditional. I'm not fond of turkey or ham. Mark liked them.
Time to get to the dusting so I can call it a job well done day. Those days are few and far between. LOL

ICOOK Tinker must find comfort with Delores like she did with Santa. I get a lot of junk mail too and it goes right to the garbage.
MAMMA You got a lot accomplished today. I know the first holidays are hard and will never be the same. It sounds like Jill is liking your church and how nice that you invite her and have become her friend. Is she still shy or coming out of that. I guess some people are naturally that way.
I washed rugs, another load of other clothes, got the house cleaned except the kitchen and with the kids coming, that will wait until tomorrow, and I made taco soup to snack on. I also have cookies for them.

Good afternoon to all. Sorry I have been missing for a few days, but I am wondering where the days go, they go by so fast! Monday, was lots of work in the hall closet and hall bathroom. Tuesday we went to West Plains and back so that took most of the day. Mike was a pall bearer in his aunt's funeral there. Wednesday was another day of hard work in closets and purging and organizing. Yesterday, I had a hair appointment and had both a polish dip manicure and a pedicure which took all morning. Got a couple of errands done, including the grocery stores, two of them, for some good buys, and then back home to unload and get Mike to go back to Jefferson City for the first car club meeting we had been able to attend in many months. Got home last night to a smoke alarm beeping in Meghan's room, which has the tallest ceiling in the house, of course, and Mike got that replaced and replaced the rest of the ones in the house (until he ran out of batteries). Today, we have completely torn apart our bed, the dust ruffle has been washed, the shams off the six decorative pillows have been taken off and washed, the one roll-type decorative pillow was steam sanitized in the dryer and I ran back to town to wash the comforter in an oversize washer at the laundromat. The comforter and our blanket are on the clothes line drying now, in fact, they should be dry by now. I ran to another grocery store while it was washing and got right back here. We had lunch of toasted ravioli and mozzarella cheese sticks with marinara sauce that I had picked up on markdown at the grocery store and I started zesting lemons and limes and squeezing juice before they went bad. A big batch of lemon streusel muffins (18 jumbo ones) just came out of the oven. It's my kind of recipe, bake a lot while you are doing it--six cups of flour, four cups of sugar, 8 eggs, 2 cups butter, 2 cups sour cream, etc. Now I have cleaned up and taken the trash down and across the road to the dumpster we share with the neighbors and have cleaned up the kitchen mess. It's now about time to start supper! We have to remake the bed yet. I wanted to get all this done while Mike was still able to lift and can help with our huge and very heavy mattress. It takes both of us to move it off and back on. Then, we just might be done for the day--Mike has been clearing brush from fence lines and taking down old fence and he is as tired (or more tired) than I am!
Mike's surgery will be on Monday, we have to be in Columbia by 7:00 a.m. Your prayers for a successful surgery would be very much appreciated--it is to be outpatient, much to our surprise. We had been led to believe he would be in the hospital for a day or two. He will lkely be down for four to six weeks, so you might pray for me, too--LOL.
A belated happy birthday to Elle--you share a birthday with my DD#2, Meghan, who turned 40 this year! How can that be when I am only 39 myself???!!
Love to all, need to remove the muffins from the pans, wash the pans, watch the bacon that is in the oven and get the bed re-done, with Mike's help.
