Good Morning....
It's a cold one today. High around 40 but it's dreary and wet out there...making it feel colder.
Need to go to Kroger today for a few things. I think supper will be a pork tenderloin in the crock pot, baked potato and a veggie. Maybe butternut squash.
Not much happening yet...so I'll leave the coffee on the counter and wish everyone a great day..........

Good morning Even though I’m sure you are much colder than it is here, I had to turn on the furnace for a bit. It was 64º in the house and 58 outside when I got up. Thankfully my winter robe was handy. But I didn't dress warmly enough for the walk to the pet area. I won't repeat that mistake anytime soon.
A load of dark clothes is in the washer and I'm on my second cup of coffee and cookie. Once I get the porch cleaned off with the leaf blower I'll hang some things on my line to dry. We can't do anything noisy until after 8 am. Quiet time is from 10 pm to 8 am. Most obey the rules and some think rules are made to be broken.
Today Jill and I are going out for a Godfathers pizza. I'm so excited, it's my favorite pizza ever. I'll be driving so I can learn how to get there on my own. Mark always drove and would often take different routes to get there, so confusing for me. I'm hoping to buy a large pizza so I can bring some home and freeze for later. I hope that Jill doesn't mind getting her own. She won't like the pizza I get anyway. When it comes to a GF pizza we always got plain hamburger, otherwise I like a pizza with everything on it. When GF first came to our home town Mark would only eat hamburger on a pizza, so to us that is what a GF pizza needs to be. And it was that way for many many years. Corny I know, but we tried it as a supreme and it's just not the same to us. Some traditions just have to stay the same. Later he would eat more on a pizza, but never anything but hamburger on a GF.
Praying that the golf cart will work well again today. Warmer today but not as windy. The rest of the week will be above average temps. 😢
Have a fabulous day.

It's cold here too although there's no wind so it isn't bitterly cold. It's 44* now and won't get much warmer. The finch have been working of the food I put out. That's on my list of "to get" for this week. Today a friend from church and I will be visiting a couple of shut-in's. One has MS the other one had a stroke. Both are what I consider to be young, in their early 60's. DD and her DH are coming tonight and plan to get the outside light up for me. I'll be thankful when that's done. Other than that, not much more going on.
CJ I love pork tenderloin cubed. I haven't had it for quite some time. I also like it in a sandwich. No Teddy and Penny today?
ICOOK Maybe Tinker will keep you busy today. The furbabies have a way of doing that.
MAMMA It's been years, in the late 80's since I've had a GF pizza and I don't remember what toppings we had on it. Probably pepperoni. DD was in college and we was visiting her and went to GF. Enjoy time, pizza and chatting with Jill. I hope the GC will work for you today and will keep working!

Goodmorning grannies, what a miserable day this is! Dark, dismal. light rain and a temp of 42 with hard freeze for tonight! I want sunshine and warm! At least no snow in the forecast!
CJ thanks for the coffee it's so chilly I need it this morning.
IC no plans for the day can be a good thing. Just do what you want to
Mamma those temps sound good to me. Pizza is good but Pizza Hut will always be my favorite. I believe it memories not always taste that keep us craving the old favorites. I do like the nice crispy crust. DH and I always went there with his sister.
Not much going on in my life today. Just a confusing call when I called in a prescription refill. Hope we got it figured it out. The Pharmacy person said it was written for 60 days. No it's written for 30 days! I been using these eyedrops for 2 year and no problem with the renewal. I think the Insurance is getting more strict on the time. Last time I had to wait 3 days before the Ins would pay. Wouldn't if be great if all our problems were that small
I think I have the answer to the question of something for Kathy to make that will be useful. I think she will able to sew an apron.Just the very plain butcher kind of apron no frills that involves mostly hemming. That along with some ironing and pins instead of basting. I know she anxious to make something and I want it to be easy to sew but useful.
Yikes! Where did the moring go? It will soon be lunch time!

Good morning to all. Today is a pretty, but cold day. The sunshine is so welcome after the nasty weekend we had. A slow rain both days, which was good, but, oh my, it was cold and dreary! I poured 1-1/2" out of our rain gauge this morning after my walk. We got things cleaned up in the basement on Saturday and it looks almost presentable again except for the floor in one corner where we are piling everything we plan to take off to the Helping Hands organization. A nap also happened on Saturday afternoon as it was the first--and last--Saturday without something to do for quite some time. We had lots of leftover green chili beef so that was our supper Saturday night and will be again tonight. Three containers also went in the freezer for future meals, possibly in tortillas rather than over mashed potatoes. I am hoping to have enough mashed potatoes left over after tonight to make a shepherds pie on Wednesday. I so rarely have leftover mashed potatoes, that I want to do that for sure.
We won't be home tomorrow as Mike lost another aunt and will be a pallbearer for her funeral in West Plains, MO. We will leave here around 7:00 tomorrow, meet DD#2 at her workplace to deliver two bushels of apples to her that I just went to the Mennonite store and picked up for her, then head out for the family dinner at noon and funeral at 2:00. As soon as the cemetery service is over, we will head back. That makes five close family losses for us this year (my mom, two uncles, two aunts and one cousin), so it has been a hard year for sure.
I got lots of closet cleaning done yesterday, most of it in the two spare bedrooms, but did get the shoes in the floor of my closet cleaned out--wow, there is much more floor space there now! Some will be donated, some went in the trash, and some will be sold. More closet and drawer cleaning this morning before it warmed up enough for my walk and I will do a bit more before lunch. I want to make some caramel apple muffins this afternoon to get my stash in the freezer built up again and I also bought us a bushel of apples as DD#2 has inspired me to can some applesauce for us. She has already worked up two bushels into applesauce and the two bushels I got her today will be apple pie filling and apple butter. #1 has never canned--and never intends to can--a thing in her life; our girls are so different, but love them both.
Time to get to work. Mike's surgery is a week from today so he is outside trying to get lots of things done before he is laid up for a while, but we have heard nothing about it and I want him to call and see about pre-op, what to expect, etc., but the chances of that are not good!
Love to all.

Went to Kroger with my puffy jacket on...LOL It is cold and damp out there.
Icook...stay warm.
Mamma...enjoy your pizza today. We don't have that kind of pizza place around here and have never had one. I like Jets pizza.
Elle...what kind of recipe uses the tenderloin in cubes? Nice to have the holiday lights done before the nasty weather. The kids are in school Mon, Tue and Wed. I just have them on Friday unless something comes up that I have them another day.
Grammy...that will be a good project for Kathy's first sewing. She can wear it while cleaning for you besides in the kitchen.
DH is off to see his mom and take her to her dentist appt. Will be gone most the afternoon.
I plan to get the vacuuming and dusting/swiffering done while DH is gone and if I have time, I'll go through the freezer and see what can be tossed.

The sand has been blown off of the porch, cart, car, and carport. The capris are on the lines, bed is made and the pills are set up for the week.
Elle, I think GF came to Hutch around the mid to late 70's. It was the first pizza Mark ate. And his fave.
Grammy, when we moved here Pizza Hut was our choice since he hadn't found Godfathers yet. But the PH pizza sure went down the toilet around here. I too like the idea of an apron for Kathy to make. Sorry you have issues with your prescriptions. Humana does very well for me.
CJ, never heard of a Jet pizza. Is that a family owned place? I wish I had had on my warmer jacket today too.
This morning I called to see my primary doctor and the earliest is Dec. 14th and there were only two times to choose from. It's just to go over the results of my blood work, which doesn't seem to be a problem from what I can tell. Time will tell.
It's getting a bit more breezy now so my clothes should dry quicker than I thought. That is a good thing!!

Mamma...Jets is a chain outfit...might not be in all areas of the US though. They make a Detroit Style pizza like Buddy's Pizza does (they are the original Detroit style). I do believe there are God Father Pizza places in the Detroit area but I don't know of any close to me. It's harder and harder to get into your primary care doctor in a timely fashion. DH had a physical scheduled for mid October that got cancelled and the next soonest is Dec 22. Maybe if it was something urgent they would get you in. I would assume that if you didn't hear anything from them about your blood work, then everything must be good or they would have called.
Got my chores done and even cleaned out the freezer. I sure do have a lot of pork products in there. A few things got tossed as, either the seal on the bag broke and it has freezer burn or it was just plain ole old and needed to go. Seems those things that get buried, don't get seen and used.

Hello! It's sunny here f0r a change, but just 32 with light wind. At least it looks like a pretty day and I plan to be in so guess I don't really care how cold it is. I was up late again and that could be because it was late when I went to bed - maybe I should say early to bed. No nap yesterday, which is kind of unusual for a Sunday. CJ, you will be busy while DH is gone - I never could get much done while DH was around unless he was outside doing things. Glad the kids had fun at T&T. Mamma, some years ago we had a GF pizza which was carry out only. This was the first I had of theirs for some time, as sometimes we would get it if we were in a town that had it. The one l got here was so salty that it's a wonder I didn't have to have to sleep in the bathtub! I have had no desire to have one since, but that place didn't last long here. The very best pizza I have ever had was in a little town in Wisc. by the name of Mishcott. There is still a Pizza Hut in Decorah, but I haven't been to it in years either. We do have some very good pizza in mom & pop places around here and neighboring towns. Ellie how nice of you and your friend to call on the home bound ladies - I'm sure they are both looking forward to it. It will be good to get that light taken care of also - will you be making dinner for the kids? I know it always tastes better when shared. Grammy, I was thinking of Kathy and her sewing project and was thinking of a doll blanket or quilt but they you mentioned her age and maybe she is over the doll stage. I think the apron is a good idea and it's something she could wear and use while you have company and exhibit her new talents. Hang tight, the sun should be headed your way soon but I hate to give it up. Debbie, that's a lot of apples to do up - I remember when you used the apples at her wedding. No wonder she likes them so well - a sweet memory with every one she peels. I just am not very fond of applesauce - I use it in my baked oatmeal and need a half cup so I buy the individual cups which are just a half cup and that way I don't seem to waste as much. So Sorry to hear of yet another family death.

GREENBACK The sun finally came out here but the wind has picked up and it's still 45*. The kids told me not to mess with supper for them as they're coming right after work and want to get the light up and leave. I remember the chef boy ar de ?? pizza mix. My friend would come every Wednesday night and we'd have pizza and pepsi. I also remember that it didn't smell good. LOL

wow, what a great pizza. I invented a new word...pizzagasim. When the best pizza is perfect. Ok, who will be offended by my new word? Jill and I thought it was hilarious. There was a detour to get there so I still am not sure how to get there on my own. Jill had me turning this way and that. Luckily she is from Yuma so she really knows her way around.
On the way home we stopped to get air in my tires. The low tire light came on last week or the week before. The guy checked all my tires and all were low. Great bunch of techs. I don't know how I could go anywhere else. I zipped right in and out and we were back on the road.
We had a great time as usual. Now it's time to tackle my ironing. Too windy again to do anything outside. More dirt all over my clean porch. At least it has warmed up to 75. I might be able to shed my sweatshirt. I've recorded a bunch of Christmas shows so I may watch a couple of them this afternoon. Sappy but nice to watch.

Mamma, are you sure that the low air light came on last week? I'm thinking it came on after you gals got in when you left Godfathers - - - You did feast on pizza after all and it could have been an extra weight on those tires!!!! LOL
Ellie, glad they are coming to get that light fixed. I will have a bowl of bean soup tonight. I do remember those pizza mixes and what a treat we thought we had! Don't think they would meet our expectations now days.

The light is installed and working. Gave DSIL some Apple Impromptu to eat and some to take home. They ate supper and voted before coming here.
Enjoy a relaxing evening everyone.

LOL, Jane, you silly. I only had three pieces. Yes, I'm sure the low tire light has been on awhile. I just kept putting it off. Enjoy your soup. I'm not sure I'll have supper I'm still full.
Elle, I remember those pizza mixes. And you're right, by our standards now, how awful. Jill likes the Kraft spaghetti dinner in a box. I used to think that was good too. Now YUCK!! Powdered sauce mix, eeewwwww. LOL
CJ, I saw my blood work results and they don't show anything to worry about. So I'm not concerned. I was really surprised how much my cholesterol had dropped. But I don't eat out like I did with Mark. I eat way different at home too.
Still really windy and it's 77 outside and 75 inside and I'm cold. What am I going to do when the high is in the low 70's during the day and 40's at night. Good thing I got some warm sweatshirts this year.
Have a relaxing evening everyone.
