Hi there, my brain said, "Hey, you should be awake, get up!" Then my bladder chimed in, "Guess what, I gotta go?" Then, the Yeti said, "ZZZZZZsnorksnarflecoughsnarkZzzzz!" Guess who got up and made coffee? The mugs are in the cupboard above the coffee maker. My brain is not being nice to me today.
Oh yeah, it snowed a bit more. The Nugget is feeling better too, since the big ol' Snip-o-rama, no Baby Nuggets for her. It's still sort of strangely quiet in here sans Susie.

Good Morning....
It rained a little very very early this morning. I woke up once and heard it. Now everything is wet. Going to be a colder day. Yesterday was beautiful. I think that's the last of the nice days, at least for a while. November can have some nice/warm ones too.
Today is Trunk or Treat at church. I'll get my trunk ready later this morning. Teddy & Penny will be coming.
Yesterday the kids looked so cute in their costumes. Teddy is a train engineer and was adorable. Penny is a Ghost Spider (a character from some show she watches, I have no idea what it is). She got some vampire teeth at the school party and wore those things all afternoon at my house except when she ate...LOL Here's a pic of Teddy....
In a bit, I'll be trying out the mixer on a batch of cookies. DH has to help me get it out of the box and on the counter.
Lauriet...thanks for the link to the magnetic strips. Love the doggy pics.
Have a great day everyone....

Good morning grannies, it's another drippy, dark and dreary morning. Temp is 37 and not getting much warmer today. Fall is stomping in the door the trees are getting bare!
Laurie, Dh made the morning coffee, after he retired. With the new coffee pot with a timer he got everything ready at bedtime then set the timer! I was always up early and ready for my coffee. Hope all of your furry ones are well.
CJ don't forget I'm ready to do the CQ when the cookies are done! Hope everything works well for you. Cute picture of Teddy!
Yesterday was a busy day and this grannie ran out of steam! I was food distribution day and I volunteered to help. They were really short of workers and glad to have the help. A nice variety of food for the people to choose from. The delivery truck had a problem with the lift, that was finally fixed but made a late start for getting set up and ready on time. Late start made for a late finish. I was tired when we finally got home.
My cleaning lady should be here soon. We will change the sheets first. That job is much easier with some help then she knows where to start.
Kathy did much better using the machine than I though she would, next time we will see how much she remembers. Lots of things to remember about threading the machine

Ok...I'm already confused. Which beater do I use for making cookies? It says the Flat Beater for mixing & folding and the Flex Edge Beater for creaming & mixing. I need to cream the butter and sugar and then mix in the rest. The Flat beater looks more stable for mixing but it doesn't say to use that to cream. Do you change beaters when you are making things?

It's the weekend. You know what that means Cleaning. I was thinking of making a pumpkin pie. I have a new recipe for Pasta Fagioli soup I want to try. It has cabbage in it. I told Delores I would give her some. She's making a new recipie with chicken, apples & plums. She told me no cooking tonight as she would share some with me. I'm glad I have her as a neighbor. She pulled weeds on her side & mine the other day.
CJ Last warm day here too till spring. What a cute picture of your little guy. I use the flat beater for mixing.

Good morning! I'm about ready to head to the porch with Laurie's coffee and I'm adding zucchini bread. So, come on over.
I've tidied all that I want to. Have beans cooking that I'll freeze. Later will be making pea soup, going to the craft room too to finish the quilt and wrap Christmas items.
I might go see Sue tomorrow after church. Let me say, the ones who have met Sue, she sure doesn't look the same. I hadn't seen her for over a year because she didn't want anyone at her house, and she would not go out. Anyway, she had fell (while her daughter was there) and they took her to the hospital. Nancy and I went to the hospital to see her rather she wanted us to or not. She looks and acts like a 95-year-old and reminds me of Mom again. She is in a nursing home now. She is down to 111 because she couldn't eat. She couldn't operate anything to fix herself anything. Kathie would send food home with her on Sundays and that is what she would eat during the week. She wasn't strong enough to use a can opener. I guess she has dementia but has started eating and a lot. Kathie said she was somewhat better. So I'll go tomorrow. I hate the idea because again, she is where Mom was. Too much similar.
CJ, Teddy looks so adorable. Wish Milo was closer. I think they are about the same age. Miho and Milo just got back from Japan. They had a good time and he enjoyed his cousins.
Laurie, hope Nugget gets better very soon.
Grammy, maybe I need lessons from you on the sewing machine. LOL. It, the machine, is throwing a fit with me now and I'd like to slap it. How can a machine act up when no one has touched it, except me and I've not touched any dials. I figured I'd change the threads and hope that makes the difference. I'm close to finishing the quilt and don't want the machine to die on me now.
Okay, I think I see the sun. I'm headed to the porch for a little bit. Nephew is up here which makes for a tense time at times. I'll keep changing the subjects to keep it quiet. LOL.
Have a great day everyone. Enjoy it!

CJ, I don't know if I'm wrong but I use the 'flat' beater for all mixing. Now if I'm whipping egg whites or something like that, I would use the beater that looks like a whisk. And I have a squiggly beater that I would use if I were making bread dough. I do not change beaters in mid stride unless I would be using two bowls say one for the normal mixing and have to make eggs whites to add.

Cj, I use this beater for everything but dough and egg whites...... When I make egg whites I use my electric hand mixer since my Kitchenaide stand mixer is too big for just a couple whites. And I do use the dough hook for dough.

Good morning. A cool, sunny, damp morning. Mandy and I walked to the pet area and we were the only ones there again.
The first ride at home with the golf cart went well. Then it all went bad once again. I was in tears the rest of the day. Why does it not work when at home? I called our friend Steve and he will bring a friend over, that works on golf carts, to look at mine. Since the cart only misbehaves here maybe he can tell me what is wrong and fix it. Or I'm going to trade it in for a different used cart. I rely on the cart heavily. My arms can't handle carrying the bags of garbage to the dumpster, get the mail and Mandy out in the summer. Taking the car on such short trips all the time is not good for the car. I hate the thought of losing my cart because Mark worked hard on making it just for me, to fit my personality and likes. But if I have to I have to.
Grammy, it's sheets changing day here too and also some floor cleaning. Send you cleaning lady here please. I need all the help I can get.
CJ, what a cute picture of Teddy. Have fun at trunk and treat tonight.
Laurie, like Grammy, my coffee maker has a timer and I set it up at night. I have no patience to wait for my coffee in the morning. I have o patience for anything anymore. Good thing you had things taken care of before a surprise pregnancy!!!
Time to haul the garage out. Praying the golf cart doesn't leave me sit anywhere. When I come back it will be parked in front of the house not behind my car.

Good Morning Ladies - - - Another dark, cloudy day at 32 - I'm in my robe yet and will be until I deceide to head to the shower. Some days that takes awhile. Not much in my plans for the day except to pick up a small grocery order - well, dollar wise, not so small, but item wise it is! I wanted to get the onion and carrots so I can make soup. Laurie, hate those early wake ups, but it would be good for me on most days I guess - I have gotten into the habit of sleeping late and most days it's around 9 before I roll out, but then, what do I have to get up for on most days? Hope you have a good day - thanks for the coffee. CJ, what a cute little engineer. SO sweet. I hope you like your mixer and you will likely use it oftener than you think. Grammy, it does sound like a busy day for you yesterday - - so nice of you to help where ever and when every you can. Glad you have help to change the sheets. I am enjoying the softness of my flannels now. Just Me, so glad you stopped in again but sure sorry to hear about your friend. It's just amazing how fast things can change. Heartbreaking to see, when it's someone close to you and you care so much for them. IC sound like you will be having your supper delievered to you. Enjoy. I wish that the 2 of you would eat together when you share your food. Conversation is the best part of a meal. Mamma, O NO! Not the GC acting up again - - - Maybe it is just wanting a little extra love from you, and it's good enough for anyone else driving it. Have you tried talking to it? Hope Steve's friend can help you out!

Thanks for all your advice. I have made my first cookie dough...although I don't think I will be using all butter next time as they just get way to flat. I knew that but decided I would just make the Toll House recipe on the bag. Usually I make a Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookie that holds it's shape much better. I kind of figured the Flat beater was the universal one to use. My machine came with an extra bonus of the Flat Edge Beater and when I read in the book about the different ones, it had me confused. Tomorrow I will try the dough hook for bread.
Justme...oh my...so sorry to hear about Sues condition. She was such a fun and uplifting person at our meets.
Grammy...glad to hear Kathy has caught on with the sewing lessons. I'm sure she is anxious to make something she can use.
Icook...so nice to have Deloroes right next door to share all the good food you both make.
Mamma...oh no! That darn cart but that's how it usually goes. Won't act up for the repair guy. Hope your friend can figure out what's going on.

Good afternoon, it's a cooler day than it has been, and it's supposed to get cooler as the week goes on. Well, we're almost into the 11th month of the year. I made taco's for supper last night. That's the 1st time I've made them in a long time but they were good. In fact, that will be my supper tonight. DD and her DH came and he also did some odd jobs for me. I still need my light in the back yard replaced and that's on order so I think he'll be doing that for me too. He's a keeper! We played the Play Nine game. It's one the ladies and I play and my kids really liked it too. In fact, they got one for themselves. It's easy to learn so it was a "fit" for me. LOL I made the Apple Impromptu recipe that I think came from Lily. I've made it before and really like it. And it doesn't make a lot. I used a 8"x8" dish.
LAURIE My bladder growled at 4:30 this morning and I usually don't need to get up in the middle of the night. But I went back to sleep until around 8:00. I hope the doggie is doing ok.
CJ It sounds like you're having fun with the new mixer. I bought a less expensive one about 2 months ago and got it out today and it is not working. Lesson learned. I love the pics of your sweeties. So cute.
GRAMMY Wow, your temps are in the 30's all day! It's 58* here now. I love how Kathy is excelling with the sewing. You've helped her find her 'niche.' I think I would have been tired yesterday too with all the 'fixings' that needed to be done. Rest up today!
ICOOK Pumpkin pie sounds so good. I did have a slice of it last Sunday at our church prime timers get together. It was good. Don't forget to take a break if you need it when you're cleaning.
JUSTME That is so sad about Sue. She was so sweet and just a friend to those she met. I know your heart breaks when you see her like that. Here's some hugs for you. {{}}I hope your visit goes well and beyond your expectations.
MAMMA I'm so sorry about your cart. I feel your discouragement. What's nothing to someone, is major to another. And I know if I was experiencing what you are, it would be a catastrophe. It's ok to cry!!! Hugs!!
GREENBACK I'm seldom out of my robe before 10:00a.m. I think nobody is coming anyway, then I think, "but what if?" LOL But so far, I've been lucky. I also put my jams and robe on early in the evening. Especially with the shorter days.

The sun came out a short while ago. Now it's a beautiful day. Tinker & I sat outside for quite awhile. I put a pillow on the glider since my girlfriend Julie put my cushions away for me. Christina put my little outside table away. I could have used them today. Cooler weather on the way. Tinker & I will sit out again Almost done with the dusting Just have to finish the bedroom. Sun just went in again.
Jane Delores never mentions us sitting together to enjoy the food & I won't bring it up.
Just Me I feel so bad for Sue I'm glad your going to see her.
Mamma I hope someone will find what's wrong with your cart.

This morning when I took the garbage to the dumpster the cart made it without an issue. Not sure what the next trip with Mandy will be like. I've no faith in it anymore. Today when I got into the CAR, I was nervous and that runs like a champ. Amazing how one bad thing can ruin other things.
The floors are cleaned, well as clean as I can get them anyway. Annie did a good job but scrubbing really takes a toll on my arms so I don't do a very good job anymore. But it's clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to still drive me nuts. LOL I'm kind of a clean freak, but working on not letting that bother me as much. I ignore quite a bit now.
Lunch was half a ham sandwich, chips, carrot and celery sticks and iced tea. No idea, as usual, what supper will be. Last night I had Capt'n Crunch for supper. I like that cereal as much now as I did as a kid. Mandy is still enjoying the porch and I still have doors and windows open enjoying the fresh air in the house. Cleaning the bathroom has made the air a little "bleachy" smelling though.
I think I'll take the rest of my break in the recliner. Maybe catch a couple z's since I didn't sleep worth two hoots last night.
