Well, that's that. I'm just going to have to say it, we got the dreaded SN*W last night. The puffed rain. The crystalized water molecules. Call it what you want, but dang it anyway! It's just enough to coat the ground, but argh! So, I'm going to stomp off to my room and put on jeans for the day at school. And, in rebellion, I am NOT going to wear a school shirt! Ha!!!! Those big loud thuds you are hearing, that's me, protesting Mother Nature's mood swings. There's coffee, toodles!
C Jay- I've not seen wolves myself, I know others have. I do not like them and are scared of them. They are vicious around cows and sheep, deer too. Coyotes-the only good one is the one the Road Runner keeps dropping the anvil on from the Acme Corp. They are the drunken cousins of the wolves, in my opinion. They pack hunt and are fearless, merciless, vile little dog-wannabes.

Good Morning...
I had my coffee on the swing this morning. Probably the last time this year.
The kids will be coming around noon today. They are having their halloween parties this morning and will be dropped off after. It will be nice enough this afternoon to play in the leaves.
Lauriet...thanks for the info on the magnetic strips. I'm looking for 10 inch to fit on the end of my cupboards. Most are 16" and that won't work. I would not want to meet up with a wolf either or a coyote either.
GrammyDebbie...I found you can order the pad for the mixer on amazon...so I'm looking into that so, maybe, I can keep it on the counter if I can get rid of the knife block.
Not much news yet. I need to make a quick trip to Kroger for a few things. Have a great day........

Good morning. A cool 64º this morning, I needed a jacket to walk to the pet area. We were the only ones there this morning since we were a bit later. It's damp enough so that the chairs were all wet. Well one was dry so I got to sit while I waited as Mandy stared into space and then encouraged loudly to do her business.
Sorry to hear you got snow already, Laurie. It sounds like a very snowy winter, but mild.
CJ, I have a little red tea towel under my mixer so it is easy to slide out from under the counter. It works great and looks nice in my red accent kitchen too. Good luck with the knife bar. Mine is wood and just fits right to the edges of the cabinet.
I never went anywhere yesterday so that I wouldn't miss the golf cart. Another day wasted. This morning I'm going to make a call to the golf cart shop. It's been a week and I've not hear anything. I will make sure to ask what they did with the driveability too, and not just let it sit. If they don't drive around and stop and start they won't see what it is doing.
Not much planned for today again. High today of 87 so the a/c will go on early again.
Since it's just me for Thanksgiving and I don't care for turkey, I'm making a steak and fresh mushrooms for my dinner. Maybe some cream puffs for dessert. I'll have to see if I can find a good sale on a porterhouse steak by then.

I just called the golf cart shop. They have been driving the cart off and on, stopping and reversing and all. It won’t act up for them at all. So Denny said they are keeping it until it does. It’s been there a week. I’m so upset I could cry. I need my cart and don’t understand why it’s working for them and not me. 😢 In fact I am crying.

Good Afternoon Ladies - - I was a late sleeper again today - I laid there the first part of the night, and sleep came later. I was up at 6 to go to the LGR, but no reason to stay up at that hour, and besides it was still dark out! I had a call from the gal that called me earlier in the week and said I would have to help her to get enough tables for the fantasy wine event. I had a call of someone wanting a table, so I called her with that info and she told me she was tired of making calls. I gave her names to try before and more yesterday, but I don't think she will call them. I will give her ideas, but I WILL NOT do her work for it. There was a reason I resigned, and further more, she planned a vacation during the time of the event, so she wasn't there to help last year and doing the same again this year. If you want to be on these boards, then make the commitment to follow through. I was upset when I got off of the call. It was like it was my fault she didn't have the tables filled. She has no idea how hard I worked to get it to be an event that people wanted to go to, and would call me to have a table. I know covid coming in there did disrupt things and we have to start over, but, hey, don't expect some one to do it for you! Okay, I've gotten it out of my system now, and won't make you listen to more. Laurie, I don't think any of us are ready for the S*** yet, but guess it doesn't matter what we think of want. I would not want to meet up with a wolf either but they are beautiful creatures. DS had a beautiful collection and decorated his house with them as a bachelor, but they have slowly disappeared. My sister even made him a wolf quilt. CJ, how sad to have the last day on the swing - - maybe there will be a good one here or there. The kids will likely be wound up from the party, so playing in the leaves will be a good idea. It's 43 here today - where it's been 63 most of the week and even higher at times. Mamma, hard to think of you needing a jacket! Quite time for Mandy and you this morning. Your red kitchen is very pretty. IC, 70 now is just different that 70 in mid summer -- It's damp feeling here and there was some rain overnight again, but I have no idea how much. Carolyn, if a nap sounds good, go for it - a little sign that you need to rest!

Good afternoon, just have time for a quick check-in. Four of the six grands are here and I am cooking for #2's early b-day celebration tonight. A three-layer chocolate cake and a two-layer white cake got made from scratch yesterday. Roast was seared for green chili beef after we picked up the kids this morning and is in the crockpot on a bed of onions. Dough just got fashioned into rolls after its first rise, a lunch of biscuits and homemade sausage gravy has been served along with veggies and ranch dip (the grands, especially the girls, LOVE ranch! and store-bought cupcakes for dessert. Amelia and Trinity are playing in one of the bedrooms, Paw Paw Mike is trying hard to get Josie Mae to take a nap (I'll believe it when I see it) and Emmett is watching movie on TV. DD doesn't let him do too much TV, but he and Mike have already been out to his farm with two big bales of hay on the back of our trailer and he got their Bobcat out and Mike said quite expertly drove it, spiked the big bales and put them in the feeder at the farm. All Mike had to do was cut the strings off. So, he deserves a little TV right now while I clean up the kitchen and get ready to peel potatoes. Eli had a dentist appointment to have a cavity filled and he and his mom are coming later, Drew and DSIL are coming later, too--Drew was at a friend's house overnight, and DD#2 and DSIL #2 will be here after work.
Our menu for tonight is the green chili beef, shredded, and served over mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, fresh green beans, cooked with bacon grease, homemade oatmeal rolls and the two kinds of cake along with ice cream. My baby is turning 40!
Jane, I don't blame you a bit for being mad and, in fact, I think you ought to tell her exactly what you told us; it's obvious she doesn't realize what true board service entails!
CJ, my mixer got a workout yesterday making two cakes and two frostings and today I will use it to whip the potatoes. I really hope you can find space for it on your counter as I know you will love it after you start using it. I find it no harder to clean up after than using the hand mixer and beaters and it is so much more powerful and efficient. In fact, watch out whipping cream, it goes so much more quickly than a hand mixer that if you don't watch out, you'll have butter instead of cream (don't ask me how I learned that--LOL).
Time to corral some grands. Love to all. By the way it was so warm here this morning that I was sweating in the kitchen even with all windows and the patio door open, however, about noon, the wind came up, the rain came down and the cool down was immediate.

Jane, I pat you on the back for saying NO. You have done more than your share. Now it's time for someone else.
After talking to a couple of my friends, Jill and I headed to the golf cart shop. I and Denny chatted about the cart and I asked him if several things had been checked. Nothing I asked surprised him, he knows I'm no dummy. He and I took my cart around the lot stopping starting and reverse, and it worked fine. Just like it had been the whole time it was in the shop. Everyone is frustrated. I asked him to bring my cart home when they had the time, thanked him for everything and Jill and I left. He said they would bring me the cart in the afternoon. Jill and I stopped for a couple things that she had on a list. When I got home my golf cart was already in my carport. I had to move it to put my car in. The cart goes behind the car. The cart worked just fine. Now I'm still praying that it will work well for me. If not I have someone lined up that will come to me. Mandy and I will be taking the cart for a tootle shortly and the rest of the day. However I will take my cell phone with me. I trust in God, but not the golf cart.

Jane, I agree with what Debbie said, someone needs to tell her that. I realized that I do need to be there for the things I commit to, I wouldn't commit if I didn't want to. I wonder if she thought she was just going to be able to ride the coattails of what you had all established, you know-get the credit for what she didn't do?

I had another call today so called my friend to update her. I offered some other names to call and asked her if she called any of the ones I gave her yesterday - she had not. So I mentioned those names again, and she said do you want to call them as I don't know them. I said No I don't, I'm not on the foundation any more , but had agreed to take the calls since she was going to be gone. NO, she didn't ask me, the gal at the hospital who is so nice and does so much asked if I would, and I said yes. I also went ahead and applied for the Thrivent money that they offer members to use as seed money to sponsor an event. That's 250, not a lot, but yet it's money they don't have to use towards advertising and decorations.. I'm sure she is mad at me now, as she doesn't like being told no!!!
