'Morning all! Just sitting here in the dark with a cup of reheated coffee. Yesterday was a nutty day, took the Nugget to the vet to get spayed, then drove another three hours to meet #1 and get the jeep back. On the return trip, I picked up the dog. and #1 continued to #1's house to get his jeep and trailer it back to get it looked at. The mechanic here is far more rea$onable. Then, off to get a Covid and Flu shot, one in each arm, yes they are sore today and I have a headache. Oh well, I've had one almost daily since I had covid before. But, with Al and the baby coming, I'll get the shots. Home to drop off the nugget and feed them, then to town to go to a display that #1 was involved with. He didn't tell me he had pieces in it, Ithought he'd just been involved inn the photos. Got home about 7 for the night and showered and into a bathrobe. Guess who said he needed help getting the jeep off of the trailer? After I was in a robe? And it was raining? Guess who didn't like being told I'd do it this morning. If you guessed Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or Yeti~~~you are the winner!!! I hear him making noises, best get ready. Off to several days in the same room, I hope all goes well. After the trip I plan to work less, going to pay for that and then stay home more! Best get to it, it's a jeans kind of day-first grade. I'm amazed how many wear leggings to school, my last school wouldn't go for that. That's my Ted Talk for the morning! Blessed be!

Good Morning....
It's a little gray and dreary out there. No rain yet. Quite mild, so I enjoyed my coffee on the swing. Probably only another day or two that I can do that.
Lauriet...Loved the pics on FB of #1's display. I guess I'm a winner...LOL as I guessed Yeti...LOL
DH & I are going to Costco this morning. I'll see if they have that mixer and get it if they do. I keep thinking how heavy it is and having to lug it up and down the stairs every time I want to use it. Otherwise I'll wait till the Christmas sales and probably find one then.
Not much happening yet.....Have a great day..............

 Finally I can have my coffee and cookies. Right after I took Mandy down I quickly got cleaned up and headed to the lab for my blood work. I didn't have to wait long but oh my, I hate waiting to have something to eat. I wake up ravenous. Now I'm nauseous from not eating anything soon enough. Yes, that is true. My tummy doesn't do fasting well at all.
A cool morning and a pretty warm afternoon. I hope I don't have to turn the a/c on as soon as I did yesterday. Park models get warm inside quite quickly when the sun is out. At least now the sun sets early so it's not baking our homes very long.
Nothing planned for the day if I remember right. Blood work was the most important since it had been put off long enough. I'll make the bed when my coffee and cookies are done. hehehe
Laurie, ugh, no reheated coffee for me first thing in the morning. Nope, never.
CJ, I hope you can squeak out a few morning swing days.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's gray here also and 59. I haven't been out yet, and just have my robe on, so slowly starting my day - - I have a hair cut at 2 and then go see the Dr. as a follow up from when I was in LaCrosse at 3:15. I thought about going for my flu shot this morning, but deceided I needed to save my legs for this afternoon.
I just got a call from my retired friend. She called to tell me her DDIL's father passed away. She has a lot on her plate right now, as she is doing radiation for her breast cancer. They will be having their 35th Anniversary now also..
Laurie, I want to go to FB and see if I can find the pictures too! Yep, I think we all guessed it was the Yeti! Take care.
CJ, enjoy all of those swing days, as you are right - they will be few and far in between for here on out. Will you have to keep the mixer in the basement? I think you would use it a lot more if you can find a spot for it in the kitchen - but I know how that goes too - I would like an air fryer, but have no idea where I would put it.
Mamma - good to have the labs done with and now enjoy your coffee & cookies. I can wait on eating, but I sure miss my coffee when I can't have it first thing.
Debbie, I can't tell you much about the coffee cake, since I don't have the receipe. It was baked in a round pan, and had the berries folded into the batter. Then there was a white cream layer on top of it - not sure what it was, I didn't taste cream cheese - and a brown sugar/cinnamon (I am guessing) topping on that! I just had the last piece!

Ok Ladies...I bought the mixer. Now to learn to use it. It sure is heavy. My DD has the tilt style with all the attachments. I wonder if her attachments would fit mine? I'll have to check and see...not that I would be making anything that I would need hers, but you never know.
Greenback...I have a very very small kitchen with no storage space or much counter space. So it will have to be stored in the basement. Now, my DD has a large kitchen with an island and lots and lots of storage...so everything is at her fingertips.
Mamma...if I have to fast, that's when I want my coffee and what ever right away...LOL I like to have my coffee first and then sometimes I'm not hungry.

Good afternoon, a cloudy, mild day, 66* then in a few days, it will feel like winter. I will be getting my back light fixed hopefully the end of this week. I miss it!! DD and her DH came last night, brought pizza and DSIL put some things in the attic and got the old back light down and ready to put the new one up later. And we actually played games! That was so nice. They brought me a new coffee mug from the Smoky's.
LAURIE LOL, we're all guessing the same person.
CJ Congratulations on the new mixer. I bet you'll use it more than you think you might. I hope it is a great fix for the way you want it to work for you.
MAMMA Just knowing I can't have coffee in the a.m. makes me want it even more. LOL I hope your lab report will be good.
GREENBACK I put my jams and robe on earlier in the evening since it gets dark earlier. And it's on until late morning. But I seldom get company in the evening and morning. If I do, they'll just have to look at me like I am. LOL I like being comfy!

Coffee in the morning is okay with all blood work as long as you drink the coffee black. That's what they told me anyway. It's the NO eating in the morning that I can't handle. In fact the nausea got so bad I had to lie down for about an hour. I'm not kidding you either.
Cj, as you can see I don't have much of any counter space at all. So I purchased large cutting boards that I can lay across the sink if/when I need more space. The only time the mixer is not on the counter is in the summer when I do NO baking due to the heat down here. I put the mixer on the floor of the closet in the bedroom. Most attachments will work on your mixer but not the beaters or the bowls.

Mamma, I love your kitchen.
Sitting on the screened porch in the sun. There is a cool breeze. But, decided I need some vitamin D.
Have had two coffees and going to fix some breakfast. I did not get up early. But, I hardly ever do.
My cousin wants me to come out this weekend and go to a singing with her. She has been a widow longer than I have. We are cousins but are also best friends. But, it is supposed to be cold on the weekend. So, will wait and see.

Mamma...I love your kitchen. And I got the red mixer to go with the red in my kitchen. You gave me an idea when you said you keep yours in a closet on the floor. I just cleaned out the back bedroom closet and now have floor space. I think that will work just dandy. I have room to use it on the counter, just not to store it there.
DH & I just got back from a walk through town. Glad we took our umbrellas as it started to rain.
I think I will make a small lasagna for supper. I have some ricotta cheese I want to use up. Sounds like a plan.
Maybe after I get that put together I'll sit and watch a movie.

The sunshine morning soon turned to clouds and some rain later today. The temp is 69 now a it might get a bit warmer but not much.
It was Bible Study this morning then home for some lunch and then I did some kitchen clean up. Breakfast stuff was on the counter so I put things in the dishwasher and washed a few things. The kitchen is ready for the next wave to hit! With 8 people it doesn't stay clean very long. I've been here 12 years and people still leave a mess behind them! If it hasn't changed by now it isn't likely to change! I just head down here and close the door on their mess other times I clean some of it up.
CJ yeah! So happy to hear that you got the mixer that you wanted. I'm sure you will get a lot of use out of it. It will soon be Christmas cookie time then it can get a good workout don't forget I am always ready to help out and do the QC for you. Sounds like the same mixer that we have. It's a red lift pro and it gets lots of use.
Laurie so glad you are ready to cut back on the work. Time to do some things you want to do
and not put them off till it's too late.
Greenback is it haircut time again? I'm still growing hair from the way too short cut the girl gave me but it is getting timeto have a trim

Thanks for the compliments on my teeny tiny kitchen area. It is not suitable for someone that liked to cook and bake like I did. CJ, if I can get things in red that is what I get. Most all in my kitchen is red and coffee is the theme. Here is the rest of my so called kitchen. I had to make room for my coffee maker and Keurig. Both are a darker red like the rugs.

I'm finally getting here. It's been busy the last two days. Yesterday Christina took me to the hematologist. Got a good report. Don't have to go back till a year. Christina & I always have errands to run. Drug store is one. She waited in line for almost 20 min. to be told my meds. were on order. Got a call today to go pick them up. Another wait in line tomorrow to get them.
Chlristina will clean tomorrow then a run to the bank & drug store. I went for lunch today with a friend I don't see to often today. She had a surprise for me. She made me small throw for my couch to cover up with.
CJ The Kitchen Aides are very heavy. I keep mine on the kitchen counter near the sink. I would never be able to carry it.
Elle Nice temps. here for a few days. Then the chill moves in.
Mamma You have a pretty kitchen. I would miss the counter space. Mine is OK but could be a little bigger.

Good evening to all; I'm watching Wheel of Fortune as I type this. A busy day with a lot accomplished. I ran to town and hit two grocery stores--hadn't been out for groceries in nearly a week--and the bill reflected that. Got some good buys and got supplies laid in for having three of the grandkids all day on Friday and then the whole fam damily here on Friday night for an early birthday celebration for #2--my baby is going to be 40 on November 1! Yikes--that makes me feel older than turning 65 did this summer!
I have dusted, worked some more on organizing the mess in the basement since we unloaded everything there when we came back. Put some more stuff away and got a couple of boxes of extra kitchen things to see if the girls have any need for them before I donate them. Mike took the new truck back to the dealership as we tried the heater and it doesn't work! We thought it would be just a switch or something, but, nope, they will have to remove the whole dash and put in a new "box", but all will be covered by the dealership since we just bought it last week and we called them about it just one day later, but they couldn't get us in to have it looked at until today. Now, parts have to be ordered and the strike is making the particular part needed difficult to get, apparently. Sounds like we will need heat in the house and the truck here this weekend! While I was in town, Mike couldn't work outside due to the rain, so, bless his heart, he vacuumed and mopped all the floors for me since I have been working outside so much and haven't had time to get to it. I think I'll keep him!
Laurie, love, love, love #1's work! I wouldn't have gone back out in the rain either. It rained here this morning, but it quit long enough for me to get my walk in. Only got a quarter inch, though.
CJ, Taste of Home sent me a special square pad that I sit my mixer on and it allows it to move back and forth smoothly from the corner where I keep it to the area where I use it without scratching my countertop. It is a unique thin pad and I love it.
My favorite color is red and my mixer, my toaster, my Keurig, my tea kettle, my pots and pans, and my kitchen chairs are all red.
Time to call it an evening and get ready to watch Survivor and Amazing Race. I love having the evenings to relax (well as much as I ever relax), that's something I always dreamed of when I was working and had so much to do from the time I got home until I collapsed into bed at night.
