Good morning everyone. There is coffee, minus the part of a cup that. I am now wearing on my bathrobe, but I'll share the rest! I've got to get ready to go in a bit, I'm in Title One today and have to meet the Yeti after to go to the lawyer's office.
What a busy weekend, I was feeling off on Friday yet, but wound up outside helping with two loads of wood. Got in and made two kinds of cookies to take to the farm and got my stuff together and headed up there. I had to stop at Menards and it started to rain just before going in, of course. Stayed at the farm and people started getting there about 8am. For a crew who were very excited about not cutting, splitting and hauling wood this year, we got a LOT done. Two trees were removed and cut up as well as trimming a big one in the front. Other similar yard work was done as well as a load to the dump with some stuff that came out of the basement and then another half load was packed up. Inside, curtains were washed and rehung, bathroom cleaned, windows washed, shelves cleared and cleaned, etc. The porches were attacked and organized and more trash and recycling went out. Some of these things had been earmarked for donation so four big boxes headed out. Whew! He was happy to get it done and we were happy to do it. We do this as potluck, there were two hotdishes, sandwich makings, monkey bread, donut holes, pies, cookies, coffee, cider, you name it. We made it to the other church yesterday and Al saw his niece and then we stopped at my brother's after. The Yeti and I were invited to the neighbor's for supper and the football game. I was so tired I was falling asleep on the couch holding a pupper, we had a good time there too.
Just thought I'd let you know why I've been missing, need to get dressed and head to school, tomorrow will be another busy day as we have to do a big ol' car swap with #1. I was off and had a couple of things planned, but will now go get my jeep and the pup after she gets done at the Vet, will need to figure out another stop for a covid and flu shot.
BBL, blessed be.

Goodmorning grannies, it's a beautiful sunshiney morning with sunshine and heavy frost. Temp was 31 earlier this morning probably a little less since the outdoor sensor is mounted under the deck. Temps will be warmer the rest of the week with temps in the 60s and 70s !!
Laurie sounds like your family got a lot accomplished Sat along with some good food. I can understand why you would want to fall asleep.
Just some usual things going on in my day, Laundry is ready to go upstairs. DD insists on doing it for me. She doesn't want me on the stairs with the laundry basket. I'll just say thank you and do the work of folding and putting things away. I do wish I could do more, sitting here is not always fun time.
I do have lots of extra plants to care for as the family only has a short time to move. Some nice big plants that I will try to keep alive while they are in my care. They are to be out by the end of the month. I can't imagine 15 people living here! We do have bed and bath for everyone

Good morning. Windy and chilly, 64º this morning. We were going to walk to the pet area, but too cold and windy for me. So we took my sick golf cart. It stalled half way there so I waited it out and hit the accelerator again and off we went.
I have a pound of bacon that I took out of the freezer yesterday. today I'll fry it up while the windows are open. I'm thinking I may make cookies today or tomorrow. But the wind may prevent me from having the windows open too long. Our high today is to be 84 so I was hoping to not turn on the a/c. But if the house is closed up, well, the ac will be needed. Then the cookies will wait.
As long as I'll have fried bacon I think I'll have bacon, eggs and toast for brunch today. It's rare I have bacon anymore. What I don't eat will go in the freezer for a later date.
Our pool buddy, Patricia, passed away this weekend. Mary was at the pet area this morning and told me. Mary is going to be pretty lonely, she and Patricia did a lot together. I'll try and get with her and do some things. I'm bored all the time.
Blessings to all.

Sun is out today. Kinda of chilly. Windy too. My wreath blew off the front door yesterday. It blew quite a distance. Delores got it for me. There are steps near my apartment as I live on the end row of apartments. I had my walker so couldn't go down the steps. I'm not good with steps anyway anymore. A little dusting to finish today. Christina takes over tomorrow. I see the hematologist tomorrow morning.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a sunny 50 out there and looks so nice, but I haven't been out there. Just getting ready for the coffee gals will be my day - - Since I deceided to serve the blackberry cake that DD gave me, I won't be baking. I also have some bacon in the freezer that I plan to get out and use for the egg bake I will be making. Laurie what a busy weekend for you again - - I love how you kids help AL so much - - Most kids won't help their own parents that much and you guys do it for a step father - - Just go's to show how much you appreciated him in your life - I would say that both he and you kids were lucky to have each other. Have a good trip tomorrow getting your jeep again. Grammy, it sounds like it's a done deal with family moving in. I'm sure it is much appreciated and I get tired just thinking of the cooking and shopping for that many every day. I'm glad that you are not trying to carry the clothes baskets on the steps. Enjoy some quite days before everyone gets there! Mamma, sorry to hear that Mary's friend passed away. It will be nice of you to include her in some of your things and good for you to have another friend besides Jill. Hopefully she will also extend the arm of friendship to her as well. Sorry the GC is still acting up. IC, Delores was a life saver for you, getting the wreath. That's how accidents happen when we try to hurry and get it, or hurry to do whatever and act without thinking.

The bacon is fried. I was kind of worried about what it would taste like since it had been in the freezer for almost a year. But other than being saltier than I remember it was still good. I just ran a bag of garbage down and came home to a house smelling like bacon. Which is okay for awhile.
Grammy, yep, you sure have a house full there. Nice to have help with carrying the laundry. I really miss my big helper.
Laurie, you are indeed a wonderful daughter, step or not. What a blessing.
Jane, you sure have great goodies for your coffee ladies. I which I lived closer. I tried doing a coffee clutch here with a few ladies, but it didn't pan out. Too many don't want to do anything. But they don't mind being served.
Now to let Annie loose on the floors. Look out Mandy here she comes. LOL

Well...I had a long post and somehow it wouldn't go through and then disappeared. Could not find how to get it back...POOF.
We've been trying to put a new modem in as recommended and sent to us by our cable company. DH has been having lots of problems with it. Finally got some of our devices to connect but the desk top computer won't. He has no patience and is easily frustrated..so has given up. Won't listen to my suggestions.
I've got the bread machine working to make the dough for rustic italian bread to go along with the Minestrone soup I'll be making for supper.
Does anyone here use a stand mixer? What kind do you have, bowl size, lift or tilt? I'm considering getting one and would like to know what works good for you. I would like to be able to mix bread dough in it and wonder if it's up to the task? Let me know your opinions.
Have a great day....

Cj, I've always had Kitchenaid mixers. The first one I had was a tilt head, I never made bread, but did make cinnamon rolls and large batches of cookies. Last year Mark got me a bigger one that is a bowl lift, 6 quart, I think. Neither mixer had any trouble with anything I asked it to do. Although the larger bowl lift has more power and a larger bowl. I can't find my picture of it, but it is substantially bigger. In fact it's too big for I make anymore. But if I made bread the bowl lift is what I would choose.

Thanks Mamma...I saw one that Costco has...a Kitchenaide 6 qt lift bowl that I've got my eye on. I was just wondering if that would be too big or more than I need. My DD has a 5 qt tilt and she likes it. I read some reviews and where most are thumbs up on it, some say the lift is too hard to move and harder to get that big of a bowl in and out. So I'm happy to hear you are happy with the performance of yours.

I have a Kitchen Aid that looks like the picture Mamma posted - My head tilts but I'm not sure what you are talking about with the bowl lift, so assume I don't have that. I have a hand mixer too that I use for smaller jobs. Never tried bread, but have a dough hook.

Yes, mine is like the white one. The kids gave it to me some time ago, but it doesn't get a lot of use. Just don't cook and bake like I use to, but glad to have it when I do.

Greenback...I didn't know much about the lift or tilt thing until I started looking at them. Still not sure what advantages either one has over the other. I have a small hand mixer that I use for everything, but even that is getting harder to use in some instances. I've always wanted a stand mixer but just not sure I can justify getting one at this stage of my life when I don't bake much anymore.

CJ we have a Kitchen Aid mixer that has had lots of use and still getting used for lots of things. We have the lift one but I think the tilt one would be easier to use. It's just a matter of what you like either would be a good choice!
