Good morning all! I was up late and up again early, ate something that didn't like me or too much or whatever. So, I'm sitting with warm cider. I picked some up yesterday on our whirlwind day. Even for us, this was crazy busy, left just after 11 a.m. and got home just after 9:30 p.m. Made a stop at two stores before a lunch meeting for one of his groups (I was invited), after that two more stops, then to a meeting for me and I left after that to walk to my next one and the Yeti gave me a ride as he'd done some of his errands and caught up with me partway. Got dropped at meeting #3 (pizza) and he did his stuff and went to his meeting. He tracked me down after his was over and we got back here. Whew, got all of our volunteer stuff done in one day, I wonder how many planets aligned to make that work out? It looks like it will happen that way once a month, minus the first lunch one. I usually do one of mine via zoom, but it doesn't always work right, so at his suggestion, we may just do this once a month. I got groceries put away while he got the dogs kenneled and then called Al before a shower. I don't mind being busy, but this was a bit much.
We did get to see some friends while we were out at one store and the Yeti stopped at their house during his gap in time. I'm going toast for a bit, BBL, blessed be.

I was up before 8 this morning. The lab comes to me for my blood work. No plans for today. I get another inspection of my apartment today. I hate those. One a year would be enough. No they want at least three or four. Laurie You had a very busy day yesterday.

Goodmorning grannies, another dark, damp and chilly morning. The temp is 51 and not expected to get out of the 50s today. I need some sunshine to recharge my solar batteries!
Laurie sounds like you are getting your time well organized! That sure makes for a busy day sounds like plan, hope it continues to work for you
IC those inspections are necessary to be sure everyone obeys the rules. Some people just don't want to do the things they should to stay clean and safe. I'm sure you are not one of those.
Thanks for prayers for my brother, He did well with the heart procedure!
Just a ho hum day for me. Nothing going on here must be a blankie and kindle day. We did have 6 baby chicks arrive yestersay. A preschool hatching time and the teacher is a friend of dgd so those babies always need a home and we are it. The whole class came to deliver the chicks and dgd gave them a mini farm tour. They were happy to pet all the animals.

Good morning. Mandy has been out and I have a load of laundry in the washer. Sheets will get changed but not washed until tomorrow. I'm thinking the sheets will have to wait to be changed tomorrow.
😠I can’t get in to see the pain specialist until November 21 at 8 am. Not an easy time for me with Mandy. And then he will set up an appointment for the injection. While I’m there I’ll set up another appointment for three months from that date. I’m so upset, and in too much pain now. No idea what it will be like a month from now. I’ll have to buy stock in Biofreze, StopPain, Tylenol and Naproxen the way I have to keep using that stuff. I don’t like taking the pills because of how they affect the kidneys and the liver. So I only take the pill form of help at bedtime. But the other stuff doesn’t last long and sometimes it doesn’t help at all. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard spot. I asked to be put on a cancellation call list for something sooner. But I doubt anyone would cancel. Appointments are so hard to get.
Another hot day so I'll just be sitting and watching tv all afternoon, again. My dumb arm doesn't allow me to do much. I'm so looking forward to next week. I just hope the forecast doesn't change to hot. Then I can sit on the porch and do nothing. hehehe
Laurie, yes, you must like to stay really busy if you volunteer for all that.
IC, I agree, one inspection a year should be enough. Is the inspection on YOU or looking to see if anything with the apartment needs to be addressed?
Off to get another cup of coffee.

I am up getting things done for tomorrow. Have my chicken cooking in the crockpot. Have my onions peeled for the soup, I am making chicken taco soup. Have fruit ready for the fruit salad. Laundry is going. I forgot to say the school reunion is tomorrow. I had a great time yesterday. The train was down and not running. So, our lady in charge ( we were on a van ) took us down in to the mining area. The leaves are turning so pretty. And we were driving in the National Park. I call it a miniature Smoky Mountain. Much less traffic though, I love it. I am going to post a couple pictures. Part of our ride was in Kentucky Hope everyone is well. It is not quite as cold today, yay.

Grammy, so good to hear that your brothers procedure went so well. Prayers for healing. Aahhh, baby chicks. Every spring dad would get about a dozen or so and I and my brothers would get to play with them for a bit before they were put in their new home. Such fun.
Carolyn, what a wonderful trip for you to enjoy. And next you will enjoy a fun class reunion. Lots of entertainment for you. Enjoy your soup.
The dryer has stopped and I did what I could with the little bit of ironing. No more of anything for the day. Well, I will have a meal or two, but nothing fancy. Which reminds me, I'm out of individual entree's. I like to have a couple on hand for when I need something but don't know what to make or feel like making anything.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a beautiful day at 52 and sunny - - - Where was this sun yesterday when I was out and about? We did see some colorful trees yesterday, but it was a dismal day, so they would look so much nicer in todays sunshine. Maybe tomorrow it will still be sunny and they trees will still have leaves and color - - I will be heading north instead of south this time, as I am meeting Darcy in Rochester for lunch. Wow! Lunch out twice in 3 days!! I had a taco salad yesterday, and once again it was disappointing - I did ask if they had chips and tomato's as they were lacking the last time I had one, and the answer was yes, so I ordered one, but then I just knew it was kind of flat then realized there was no cheese on it. Guess I need to stick to a good burger or a chicken salad - I have had both grilled and breaded and they were both good. My sis called while we were there and she wanted us to stop and she gave all 3 of us squash and I haven't looked in my bag but she asked if I wanted potatoes, so I'm sure there are a few of them too. I put in a grocery order for today too so I could get dried beef for DD, as she loves it, but can't find it up there. At $14.99, I'm sure not many people buy a lb. at a time, but I splurge and take her one. Laurie, you have to do some good planning to make all of those things work for you at the same time! Nice that you both do so much volunteer work. It is very rewarding and I know there are many who won't share their time with others. IC, good luck with the inspection - - as much as both you and Christine clean, there can't be anything to complain about at your house! Grammy, I'm sure the kids had a great time at your place and loved seeing where their chicks were going to live. Get settled in your chair with the kindle and your blanket and have a great afternoon. Mamma, I hope you can get out to the porch and sit a spell, if not today, then soon. The fresh air is so nice and a little different scenery - always a good thing! Mandy would love keeping you company there I bet. Carolyn, glad the day was interesting and nice, even without the train ride. Now, another outing to look forward to. Debbie, glad you and Mike were able to make the new truck deal work - - Now, all those walnuts to deal with - glad the price is enough to make it worthwhile, but I know it needs to be done so the mower doesn't have to deal with them.
Well, I hope it's a good day for everyone - - I plan to make hamburger soup after I get my groceries so I have the cabbage and celery to put in it. I better go take the burger out of the freezer.

Haven't come for the inspection yet. They've pulled this before. You get ready & they don't come.
Mamma They check to see how clean your apartment is & if any repairs are needed. They are very strict. Don't want any dirty dishes in your sink. No clean dishes in your drain board. Nothing stored in the oven. No pots on top the stove unless you are cooking.

Jane, down here you would never get a taco salad that you wouldn't like. There are more Mexican restaurants than those with American fare. And as you know I am not a fan of Mexican food. I am a rare find down here. I miss going out to eat so often. Maybe I'll see if Jill wants to out tomorrow sometime.
IC, I can see why they have those rules, to some degree. My goodness they really are picky. Geesh, I would never pass. LOL Most days I let my dishes dry in the sink. If you know when they are coming that would be nice. Right now they would find a sink full of clean dishwater waiting for the dirty dishes on the counter to be washed while I sit here, and a pizza stone in the oven because the cabinets in the kitchen are not deep enough for much of anything. Good luck my friend.

IC don't be too hard on the inspection. It's the only way they can assure you that the building is clean and not a health hazard. My dm lived in Sr housing for a few years. The inspections are a nuisance but just remember everyone isn't as clean as you are. Maybe they are late because they have to deal with a bad situation.

It was another cloudy day with rain most of the morning and early afternoon. The temp reached a high of 56*. They say we could get down to 33* Sunday night. The time change will happen in a few weeks then it really will seem like winter again. I had an eye appointment this a.m. then needed to go to the store. I came home and ham and bean soup for lunch. That was good! I got some cleaning done and will plan to finish that up tomorrow and also do laundry. That's about all that's happening here. Wishing all a restful, peaceful sleep tonight.
