Good Morning....
Starting out sunny but turning cloudy this afternoon.
I've been busy doing a little cleaning...getting things ready for the school ladies. Our favorite game to play is Rummikub.
I didn't sleep good last night. I think it's because I didn't take a night time cold med. I wasn't stuffy or coughing last night so didn't think I needed it. For some reason it does help me sleep better. Maybe tonight will be better. I kept hearing noises that I don't pay any attention to when DH is here, but when I'm alone I hear everything.
I tried a new dessert for today. Pumpkin cheesecake pie. It's a no bake kind. I'm not so sure about it as it is so so high in the dish. I didn't even use all the filling as it just seemed so full. I hope it tastes okay. Time will tell.
Wishing everyone a great day...........

Goodmorning grannies, no fog here, Laurie, it's a beautiful sunshiney day with an early morning chilly 43* and only going to the low 50s this afternoon.
It was a busy week end and I never got the the 'hood yesterday. Kathy was baptized yesterday so I went to their church, couldn't miss that. DSIL has baptized both his dds and all 3 of his dgd's! Only one has drifted away and prayers continue for her. When he raised Kathy from the water she gave him a big hug while lots of tears were shed by many. It was a beautiful sight to see her smile as they shared the hug. In the afternoon it was party time for the 2 Sept birthdays that Covid caused to be delayed with some friends and family along with lots of good food!
Kathy has had an exciting weekend she got the meet her birth mother Sat also. She is all smiles as she talks about the meeting. She says another little pc of my heart is back in place. We can't imagine nothing about our family. She got to see pictures of herself as a little yr old. Now she knows what she looked like. DGD and Chef got to see Leemah and were so happy about that. an exciting - I'm so glad the meeting was a good thing for Kathy.
This will be a day of rest for me. This grannie gets tired. The old grey mare.....

It is cold here this morning also, 45 earlier. It is overcast. Wishing for rain. Yesterday was a good day. We went to Church then to Shoney’s for lunch. After that we went to the grocery store. I had taken some of the pound cake slices, and we had cake and ice cream. Then I headed home. I was tired so I went to bed early. I Slept until 9.a m. Now I am hungry, thinking about a balogna sandwich with tomato. For breakfast. Take care all. Grammy, I am a old grey mare too. 😊😊

Good morning.
Thanks for the coffee Laurie.
CJ, I know exactly what you mean about hearing noises when alone. Some really freak me out and call for drastic measures. I'm happy that I have security cameras all over the place that alert me to anything outside. Even the inside. I have calmed down some, but I'm always on high alert. Have a great time with your friends today.
Grammy, I had tears drifting down my checks reading your post this morning. What a very special day indeed. And I am so very happy it all went so well.
Another hot day, but a nice morning. Wednesday the temps should start to drop some. Mandy was in her stare into outer space mode again. So I told her to go potty and headed to the opposite end of the pet area coaxing her alone. What a space cadet.
A trip to the store this morning for a head of lettuce, milk, and some pepper jelly. Fry's/Kroegers doesn't have much of anything I would use on sale this week, so I won't be going there for anything but the milk. The 99cent store had good produce at a fraction of the cost. Kroegers must be owned by Kohls with their high prices. I may sneak in and see if Tammy is working and get my nails done too. The nail salon is right next to the 99cent store.
No bath for Mandy yesterday. Since I got the quilting pins I worked on that off and on all afternoon and most of the evening. Work a little, rest arm for half an hour and so on. The quilting is almost done and it is the worst job of quilting I have ever done. It's so very hard for me to maneuver the quilt without pain. Thank God is just a small quilt. I'll stick with place mats and other smaller things from now on if anything. Making cards is so much easier.
Blessings to all.

Not much housework being done today I do enough on weekends.
CJ Sun is shining here too, but chilly. Only in the 50's Low 60's for a few days. Getting to cold to sit on my glider with Tinker. I'm really going to miss that as you will miss sitting on your swing.
Grammy You had an enjoyable weekend. Unfortunately we're all getting old. It's no fun.

Grammy...I was so happy to hear that Kathy met her birth mom. And her baptism was very special. Was much said about how Leemah reacted to seeing Chef & DGD and Kathy? I hope there will be more meetings so all can stay in touch.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a beautiful, sunny 46 this morning. I slept good again last night. Yesterday I made a pan of baked oatmeal in the afternoon - - - It smelled so good, I had that for supper. Of course, I got a little distracted with phone calls and was delayed with eating so it was quick and tasty. I have been wanting to make it for so long now, and it takes such a short time to make it, that I don't know why I haven't done it sooner. Laurie, hope you didn't have to drive in fog. Did the furnace installation go well? CJ, I'm sure sleep doesn't come easy for you when dH is gone. when you are use to him being there, it's just not the same when he's gone. Will be waiting on a report of the cheesecake. Grammy, what a wonderful day in your family - - did Leemah recognize dGD and the chef? I'm guessing she was too young for that, but I;m sure they were thrilled to see her. I have forgotten, did Kathy realize that she was her sister when she was living with your family? Carolyn, sounds like you had a nice day yesterday - just rest up today. Mamma, you are making progress on the quilt - it will be done before you know it - little steps get to the finish line also. IC, you can rest up today also. I need to take my shower but will have another cup of coffee first, then I will bake them bars for church tomorrow. I plan to go to a funeral and another church in town tomorrow.

Good morning, the morning is about over. It was 42* when I got up and it's going to the mid 50's. The sun is in and out. I need to get some cards ready to send and thinking of getting some meals put together and in the freezer to fill my tummy for a while. LOL Yesterday was the normal then in the afternoon, I took a nap. 1 1/2 hours later I woke up. I don't usually sleep more than 1/2 hr so thought maybe I wouldn't sleep last night, but I did.
LAURIE Thank you for the coffee. I hope all goes well for you today.
CJ Yep, those noises just seem to be only when we're alone. LOL although, most of the time I am able to process what they are and where they're coming from. My frig/ice cube makes loud noises at times. I have outside sensor lights too. I have a pumpkin dip recipe that you use with cinnamon graham crackers and that's good too. Enjoy the day with games and friends.
GRAMMY The "drift away" kids sure are a challenge. I have it in my family too. What an exciting weekend! So thankful you was able to enjoy it and be with them.
CAROLYN I have been thinking of getting some bologna. It's been a while. But, it wouldn't appeal to me for breakfast. Do you like it fried? I do but too often too lazy to fry it so eat it cold. LOL
MAMMA I thought the quilt looked very nice!! Most of us don't know what it takes to make one of them. I do still have the one the GN made and shared a square. Such memories and fun.
Time to get busy. No mail today so I won't be going to the mailbox. LOL

Good Monday morning to all. It is a sunny, but chilly, day here. Mike had to inspect in a town about an hour away from here today, so we both got up at 4:30. I started my walk in the dark and was glad I had brought a jacket from home back with me yesterday. I have reconciled the bank statement this morning, paid a couple of bills that were in the mail when we got home Friday evening, and getting ready to try to scan some things to document Mike's ER visit and bills he has received for that to date as requested by his HR department. I am so ignorant when it comes to scanning things; just something I've never done so I'm not comfortable with it. Hoping I can figure it out. Last time, I got the documents scanned, but not as a full document, it gave me an image of each page. DD#2 has relayed some instructions about doing it via my I-phone and then emailing it to myself, so may try that.
I also delivered the requested documentation to our apartment complex office this morning and am hoping to get a favorable response to our request to vacate our lease early. Fingers crossed...
Grammy, what a wonderful day for Kathy and your entire family! Wow, does the meeting with her birth mom mean the mom is doing better at parenting. How was Leemah? I pray she has been treated well! I also have the same questions CJ and Jane have asked! We need details--LOL!
We got through our busy weekend and I was one tired Maw Maw Saturday night! Emmett won his football game and Drew finished his cross country race in the upper middle of the pack; DH said it was a very tough course. We all met for lunch and then all six grands came home with us and spent the afternoon and evening playing with toys in the basement, playing football in the front yard, going down the Little Tikes slide I have for Josie, and I have the most beautiful colored chalk drawings on every concrete surface around the house! The girls made a complete obstacle course/trail with written instructions on how to progress along it! Eli is enamored with our new side-by-side and its dump bed and he was happy to help us out with a few outside chores as he got to drive it and operate the dump controls. We got my three new mums planted and he helped Mike hook up to the trailer that we brought up here for our anticipated move this week. Sunday was a few early morning chores, packing up to come back, church, a lunch of leftover hamburgers from dinner the night before, and then headed back here, a bit slower than usual as we had the trailer on behind. Lucky for us, the rental truck Mike has now has a trailer hitch which is very unusual for a rental so we could bring the trailer back with it, however, it is just a half ton truck and Mike likes at least a 3/4 ton for pulling things. And, the wind was quite brisk yesterday, but we made it here before dark without incident.
I'm going to ride my bike before a bite of lunch so I had better get to it. I don't have a place to ride my bike at home as there are, of course, no sidewalks along our blacktop road--and no shoulder--and our driveway is graveled, so I will miss all the parking lots, etc., that I have to ride up here. But, that is one of the few things I will miss--we are ready to go home and be home!
Wishing all a marvelous Monday!

CJ, the ingredient that aides in sleep in the night time cold medicine is Doxylamine Succinate. That is what I take when I need a stronger sleep aide than melatonin. Seniors shouldn't take it often, but it works great. I get it at WM,their brand/Equate.
I got my errands done, but not my nails, they weren't open yet. I had milk in the car or I would've waited. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Details for those who want them. DGD and Chef were so happy to see Leemah again. She was only 3 when she was had to leave here. Chef had the biggest smile of all. You could tell by the big smile in all the pictures how happy he was. Men are not always good at sharing/showing their feelings but I thing the pictures showed his joy at seeing her again. They are not sure how much she remembers about being here just a few things to awaken a memory. Leemah appeared well cared for and happy for an almost 6 year old! The mom was crying when she saw Kathy and lots of hugs. The mom is mentally challenged she has an aide to help with the daily tasks and with Leemah. Leemah's dad is no longer in the picture he left sometime ago. Kathy did know Leemah was her sister. They told her this as they tried to prepare her for meeting mom and sister. Kathy seemed to be very happy with the meeting. That's about all I can remember right now.

Thank You Grammy, for the update. I didn't remember just how old she was when she left your family, but I knew she wasn't very old, thus that is why I wondered if she did remember any of them. It's good to hear that she has some help in caring for her. The bars are baked and cooling, just need to do a powdered sugar drizzle on them and then get them to church in the morning. I had a phone call just as I was getting ready to start them, so put me behind a little - It's getting more difficult to put things in and out of the oven. I know a pumpkin pie or something like that when it's so full wouldn't be good. After the bars came out, I put the squash in that I got last week. I took some pulled pork out of the freezer to have with it. I cut my hand, just a little bit on the can of the cherry pie filling - There's always that one little spot where the lid comes off and i was going to wash the can, since I was doing dishes anyway, and it's just a little speck, but it sure could bleed! I think I have it stopped now. I know I am glad to sit down now for a bit. I am having a Pepsi break - - That makes me think about ATV!

Grammy I'm glad all of you got to see Leemah. I know it was a happy time for all of you. Called my provider today about my computer. The technician messed it up. It has to do with the settings & I don't know how to fix it. Christina comes today I hope she can help me. If not provider better send a technician here to fix it.
