Good Morning...
It's a foggy morning with the sun trying to peek through. I should be down by the river to get some good photos. This is the time of year when it is so pretty down there. But instead I'm sitting here watching the birds and drinking coffee.
Yesterday was a fun day with the kids. Penny had a field trip in the morning, so she didn't come till lunch time and her mom brought her Mickey D's. That's a treat for her. We had fun with just Teddy in the morning. He's such a happy kid. They had their Bluey halloween shirts on that I got for them. Penny couldn't wait to wear it.
I'm going to my mom's later this morning to help her do a few things. I'm sure we'll have lunch out somewhere.
Looks like the weather will be warming up this coming week. Hoping for lots of swing time as I know the end is coming for that.

Good morning
CJ, what a couple of cutie's you have there. Love the shirts too. It's nice that you can spend time with your mom. I'm sure she really enjoys it too.
This morning Mandy and I walked to and from the dog area. Mandy loves to walk so she was walking at a faster pace than mamma wanted to walk. Going home was a tad bit slower. LOL Mary and her two dogs came shortly after we were there. The dogs acted like they hadn't seen each other in years. Mandy was running in circles she was so excited. LOL It had Mary and I in stitches.
Speaking of stitches, I finally got started on the Christmas lap quilt. A quilt top that normally takes an hour to make, it hardly 1/4 done. The tendonitis in my bicep started screaming in pain within the first 15 minutes. I had to stop, take a pain pill, and rest my arm for half an hour. So upset that I was in tears. Growing old gracefully is not working for me. I get so darn frustrated. But I'm stubborn as a mule and will finish this quilt before Halloween come hill or high water. I don't quit, I just find another way of doing things. So today I'll work at it a little at a time until it's done. Then I'll have to get some batting and backing. That will be an even slower process with so little room to do the last few steps.
High today of 89ยบ and right now it's 71 and sunny. Windy later today so the windows will be closed later. But for now it's nice having everything opened up wide.
The sheets are in the washer and will be hung on the lines down by the laundry room. Too nice to put them in the dryer. I think my arms are okay to do that. I'll find out anyway.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's 68 already and nice and sunny - going to be a beautiful day! I have no plans, so will see how it all unfolds. I do have to pick up a grocery order this afternoon. I haven't gotten any for 2 weeks now, but I had a 5.00 coupon for pickup that expired yesterday, so wanted to use that. Then I placed a Kohls order as I had 45.00 of Kohls cash that expired 10-1 so wanted to get that taken care of too. I ordered a new pair of slippers that I hope will work and 2 new picture frames. I have an appointment in LaCrosse in a couple of weeks, so if need be, I can return at that time.
Yesterday got to be a full day - I left at 10:30 and it was after 5 when I got home. The buffet was very good. Chicken and fish and full salad and 2 kinds of soup. I didn't have any soup and took it easy on the salad as well, as I like the hot food. I had a chicken wing and 2 pieces of fish. It was funny, as I looked at our table, we had all taken chicken wings. I have been places when that is all that's left. Then one of the guys said in mid afternoon, that he was buying if anyone wanted pie! She told us the choices and all I heard was raspberry and coconut cream - can't remember what else, but we all chose between those 2 and I had a hard time making up my mind, but the raspberry won out and I was so glad that I did take that as it was so refreshing! 2 of my very favorites!
CJ, the picture is just darling - such cute grands! I know your mom will be happy to see you and spend some time with you. Hope you get her chores done and enjoy a nice leisurely lunch!

Good morning grannies, Finally there is sunshine! Beautiful sunshine! After a week of dark and gloomy days today is a beautiful day, I feel like I'm emerging from a dark hole! A few day of warmer temps then the drop to the daytime 60s. Winter is getting too close. My cleaning girl is here and we changed my bed from the summer quilt to a blanket. I was so cold, last night, I had to get up and find a blanket.
CJ all too quickly those little ones become big ones with a life of their own. Their world gets bigger and bigger so enjoy them now. Hope you get some pretty fall pictures.
Mamma nice to enjoy an occasional morning walk with Mandy, sorry than you have so much pain. Just do what you can as you feel like it! There's no timekeeper!
Greenback yummm that meal sounds delicious. Fried chicken sounds so good but I wouldn't choose wings I would want the thigh part! Could I go with you the next time. don't forget to stop for me.
The cleaning lady is just doing a few things today we will do better next time. Today is just a lick and a promise.

Sheets are all done. I decided to put them in the dryer and save my arm strength for sewing. I'm really glad I did. Right now I'm taking a short break from sewing. And it has gone pretty well.
Jane you have made me so hungry for deep fried chicken. The only way I like chicken. I'm thinking I may have to go out for supper or lunch. The pie choices sure were tough. But I love coconut, only if it is made from scratch. So I would've chosen raspberry. I too like them both.
Grammy, a lick and promise here too. I'm too determined on the quilt top. My housework always suffered when I was quilting.  Enjoy the sunshine and nice weather. Soon it won't be so nice for you to enjoy the weather just the sunshine.
I think I'm going to check out the menu at Denny's and see if they have deep fried chicken.

Actually, This chicken was broasted, but kind of the same thing as fried, but I think more moist. I like Denny's too, Mamma, but can't say I have had chicken there. I don't get to one very often, and when I do, it's usually breakfast food. To bad you don't have KS or KT -- there chicken is very good for a quick pickup. Hope you find some good chicken. Glad you saved your arms for the fun job.
Grammy, good that your cleaning lady is there, even if you don't get to the nitty gritty today. I'm sure that one on one time is very helpful for Kathy. The thigh is my least favorite piece of chicken.
Well, morning is mostly gone and I haven't done anything useful - - well actually I did, as I had 2 packages delievered yesterday and either my neighbor or cleaning lady brought them in, while I wanted them in the garage - so took them out there and got them put away until Christmas. Took some boxes to the recycling bin too, as I emptied the box of coffee pods and put in my container. I guess that's not enough to feel like I was useful!

Sunshine!!! 70* and going to the mid 70's 80*. It sure looks and feels good. I slept in a bit and after breakfast went to the bank. When I got home I decided to get the mail. It was the Medicare 2024 book, it's fairly thick. Then, as I was taking it out of the mailbox, I felt something on my hands...ants...I do mean ants, little ants, and honestly, 100's of them. Someone obviously was playing a prank, none of the neighbors had them. There was some "stuff" in the m/box too, like very fine bread crumbs....Ugh! I sprayed them and they're all dead. I wrapped the Medicare book and put it in a bag to toss. It was loaded with ants. I'll call the insurance company Monday and ask them to mail me a new one. Now, I need to get some gloves, soapy water and head to the mailbox to wash it down, inside and out. I've washed some windows, cleaned the stainless steal appliances and need to do the laundry and family room yet. Anyway, I'm able to do all this and I'm just thankful for that!! It's "The day the Lord has made."
CJ Those two sweet kiddies sure do look happy! So cute. I know your mom will look forward to your visit today. It means so much to her.
MAMMA How nice that Mandy was able to be with her furry friends this a.m. I often wonder if they miss other dogs??? I remember something you told me when I was sewing purses. I was always wanting to get them done because I loved seeing the finished product. You said, "slow down and enjoy the process." Something hard for me to do but even in my everyday life, I try to remember that.
GREENBACK I love coconut cream pie. I have the microwave recipe for the pudding from Debbie and it's sooo good! I'll swing down to pick up Grammy and we'll be over. Give us some time then get the coffee pot going. LOL
GRAMMY A lick and a promise cleaning is becoming more and more frequent here. I keep saying, next time I'll do it better. LOL I'm so thankful you're feeling better.
LAURIE Did you see that I posted the pumpkin bundt cake recipe in recipes?
Lunch time, no idea what it'll be. Tonight will be leftover pizza.

Elle, I got the same book in the mail. But, my grandson brought me mine. Those ants are pesky and so are gnats.
Hope this finds you all doing good.
I had oatmeal and a banana for breakfast. Jane, I bought some oats made by MOM company. They are very good. Supposed to be natural I think.
Not much news so I will be back tomorrow. My baby is 6 months. I love that little dude so much.He is so cuddly. I love all of them but it is his time to shine.

I posted my coleslaw dressing receipe and pumpkin cake receipe. It can be made as either a bundt or loaf cake - - I think I have only made it as a loaf once and the other time in the bundt pan. It's a great cake. Picked up my grocery order but don't have everything put away yet - I needed a SSD after I got it in the house - just put away what needed to be done right away. My neighbor tried to fix my TV when she was here, and we thought she had it, but I turned it on and was going to change channels and it's back to snow again.

I've been trying to get here all afternoon. Site said an angry bear was keeping me away. I've been busy. It's the weekend. Dusting is started. Tomorrow is another day.
CJ Warmer weather for me starting tomorrow too Halloween shirts on the kids are so cute.
Elle There was some sunshine here today. What a prank to play on you. That's awful. I got my Medicare book the other day. I'm still looking thru it to see what's changed.
Grammy I do NOT want winter to come. Delores told me the other day that winter will be bad this year. No snow storms for us last year.
Mamma Getting old isn't fun at all. More problems for us seniors.

Good evening to all! Turned out to be a beautiful day after some morning clouds that looked like rain.
My week in revue: Canned tomatoes, pole beans, and cleaned up mess upon mess. Can you believe that peeling the tomatoes and cutting them have put my thumbs into major fits. Still trying to get them pain free. Life!!! Also, got the hot water heater fixed and installed and that mess done with. Maybe that added to the pains. I have another 5 jars of pole beans in the canner and they should be done shortly. Now I can put the canner away till it's time to can venison. Swept and mopped yesterday and went to Altoona today. I still need to dust but Christmas is coming soon. Why do it twice.  
Tracey is going shopping on Monday and hopefully I can get some Christmas shopping done. If nothing else, want to get Ted a watch. His quit and he talked about getting one but will probably forget that he wanted one. I did find out that the clothes I got Elyah are not going to be the right size at Christmas. So I'm going to send them now and find an outfit later. Darn anyway, she wasn't supposed to grow so fast.
Next Saturday starts vacation with the sisters. We are going to the Chesapeake Bay for a couple days, then to Rockville, MD for a day and then end it up in Delaware, ocean side (I think). I think next year we are going to make a circle of PA.
Beans are done so I think I'll go grab my book and go to the porch for the last hour of the day.

OMG, Jane, broasted chicken is the best there is. Not sure I can find any around here. Not many places down here with food that I like. Mostly Mexican food down here and I don't care of any of it.
Elle, Thanks for the reminder. A quilting friend is who told me to slow down and enjoy the process. But I'm not one to do anything slowly. Although my body is dictating the opposite of what I want to do. What a terrible thing to happen to you. Some people are so mean. I never use the Medicare book, it sits in the file cabinet until the next year when I throw it away, Never opened.
I took my time today and finished the quilt top. Then ran and picked up batting and a sheet to use for the backing. The rest of the process will be very time consuming and take a very long time for me to get done. Art in my hands and back and tendonitis in my arms, will really slow down my work. But like I said, I will get it done. Thank God for anti inflammatory meds and Bio-freeze.
Spaghetti for supper tonight since I can't find anyplace that has my kind of chicken. Well there are a couple places but I'm not driving into town on a Saturday or Sunday. Yikes.
The wind has really picked up and is to get quite a bit stronger as the afternoon progresses. Looks like September is going out as a lion too. It was a lion coming in as well. I wonder what next month will enter as, a lion or a lamb.
Time to clean up the little threads on the floor before they get all over the house.
