Good Morning....
It's a beautiful fall morning. Had my coffee on the swing, listened to the birds and watched the chipmunks chase each other. DH & I just got back from a, almost, 3 mile walk. Lots of doggies being walked too.
The place where DMIL lives is having a pet adoption day. DH is taking her lunch to her today, so I'll go along and check out the pets looking for homes. DH says maybe we'll come home with a dog...LOL LOL....I don't think so. Neither one of us ever had a dog growing up. And not about to start now. And I'm not coming home with another cat. Two is enough....although they are both senior cats at 14 and 13.
I have some vacuuming to do and a load of laundry that I didn't get done on Thursday.
The brewery in town is having their October Fest this afternoon. I think we will go to that and have a meal and beer and watch the festivities that go along with the celebration.

 Good morning.
Not a very pleasant day out there. It's already 80ยบ, cloudy and no breeze. I slept in a little bit this morning and when we were ready to head out the door I heard rain drops on the roof. It didn't rain enough to dot the street. So neither of us got wet at all.
Today I had planned on cleaning the floors well. But since the house is closed up this morning and I have lost my ambition, I'm not sure it will get done today. I was really counting on a cool morning.
CJ, it sounds like you have a fun day planned. You would never own a dog and I would never own a cat. hehehe Everyone has their preference and right now I want neither..... Even though I love Mandy. It made Mark happy to get another dog after Lola died so I agreed to another pet. He really loved Mandy too. Little did I know that I would be the one taking care of her, alone. At least Mark was happy.
Well I've decided to at least dust mop or let Annie clean the floors. I'll scrub later in the week if it cools down. The floors are more dusty than in need of scrubbing. Annie does a good job.

Mamma....I have my grand dogs to love on...although I only see the one. The other two are in New Mexico. So I just enjoy the pics that DS sends me. I love dogs...all kinds, but never grew up with one. And I know they require a whole lot more care than a cat.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's 68 and cloudy and we finally had some rain last night - - I have seen reports of over an inch and 3 3/8's, so not sure how much as I don't have a gauge out. I will ask my neighbor when she comes over with the mail later. Not sure if they got the football game in or have to hault it - - It was homecoming too. Not much planned for here today - will just see how it unfolds.
Wanda, if you peek in today, I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday. I miss you coming and sharing your day - hope you will stop in my often. Enjoy your day.
CJ, wow, that was a nice walk to have done already - enjoy your day, maybe you can play with the puppies for a bit and I'm sure you will have a good time later.
Mama, a quick wipe up is good enough if you don't feel up to the scrubbing -- It will be there another day when you have more ambition. I also do not want a dog - I love Josey, but they deserve to get outside and play and I am not up to walking a dog. I grew up with them, but we lived on a farm and our dogs were farm dogs - never in the house. I had a hard time with them in the house, but I do have to admit what a good she is. She never touches Dawson's toys and knows which are his and which are hers. If course, she went to kindergarten too!

Goodmorning grannies, it's a chilly Fall morning with the temp in the 50s this morning going to the 7os later. Lots of sunshine and blue skies. Trees are beginning to show a little color.We had lots of rain now it's getting dry and some rain would be welcome but none in the 10 day forecast.
Mamma hope that golf cart gets repaired at an affordable cost. There will always be house work so what doesn't get done today will still be there another time.
CJ sounds like a nice day with the kids and a good plan for the day, No pets for me. I love them but I never wanted to take care of any of them. We did get a cat when the kids were small but when he was gone no more.
Greenback hope you are having a good day
The cleaning girl has been here this morning and the house is clean. time for me to find some lunch

Hello, it is a breezy and sort of gloomy day. The Yeti went out in the woods with two of the dogs. I am cleaning up stuff and trying to organize my life. We have tentative plans set for the trip and of course after we made them, someone told us a date that he'll be gone, overlaps with my stuff, naturally. He could've offered that info before, so sulk to the woods the went. I told him I'd kennel at least one of the dogs-the neighbor could do the other two. Communication would be nice. I think that if there is a long term after the holidays I will consider it. Better get off my butt or I won't get anything done. Blessed be.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTME!! MISS YOU!!! Pop in and say hi today.
It's a beautiful day here too, plenty of sun, a breeze and in the low-mid 70's. I watered my plants, the birds, fed the birds and pulled and sprayed some weeds. I also went to the farmers market and got some sweetcorn. The place I normally get it was out but another place had some. It looks very good and I'm looking forward to giving it a taste try! I have laundry and cleaning to do yet than my work day is finished. I plan to watch some football.
Had a great time at my sisters house last night. We had plenty of pizza, salad, and several desserts. Croquet and Bocci ball was also played, laughs, and stories told. It just does the heart good to have that time together with family.
CJ The walk sounds so nice. A nice long walk too. I miss my Kayli so very much but no more animals for me. It wouldn't be fair to them because I'm just too old. LOL But if you're going to see puppy's, I say be careful, your DH might be right in saying you might take one home. LOL
MAMMA I'm being convinced more and more that the cleaning will wait. If something more enjoyable comes along, I'm going for it, someone else can clean it for me if they don't like it. LOL But, really, with just me here, it doesn't get as messy as it would have when the family was all here. Just enjoy your day.
GREENBACK Will you get to watch football? It just seems like something for me to watch on the weekends. It seems like your DGdog is a very well trained little friend. I bet he and Dawson are real buddies.
GRAMMY Your "home" looks very inviting! How sweet to have your sweet DGD to help you. It's getting lunch time here too, I think it's going to be left over pizza from last night. That should fill my tummy until time for supper.

All done with the cleaning that I plan on doing. Sorry, Elle, but there is nothing fun happening around here, most of the time. hehehe Annie did a good job and I did scrub a little bit. I'd get fired if this was a paying job. LOL
I agree with y'all. Dogs require work and at this time in my life I don't want work, well not anymore than what has to get done. Earlier I didn't mind, I love dogs. If I had my way we never would've gotten another dog after Lola died. I don't want any pets, period. A fish is more than enough for me at this time in my life. All I want now is easy and do what I want to do.
Now that the work for the day is done, I'll see about something for lunch. And then maybe I'll start on the Jelly Roll quilt. I know I won't be able to go at the pace I used to.

Well, we certainly were blessed last night - - My neighbor said we had 3 and 3/10's of an inch of well needed rain. I couldn't believe that much the first time I saw that, because there were no puddles or any sign of such a good rain. Thought maybe an inch at most.
After DH passed away, both of my kids thought I needed to get a dog - - I said NO, when I walk out the door, I want to just close it, and not worry about who is taking care of it or if I needed to be home at a certain time and I also said that I wasn't willing to spend all of the money that I know it takes to keep a dog healthy. Selfish, maybe - - but so be it.

I've been busy all day Washed my bedspread & blankets. A few more to wash, but not today. No hurry in doing it. Getting fall things out. Just finished lunch As usual I'm eating late. I'll heat up some of the chicken soup I made last night for tonight.
Nasty weather here for the weekend. Rain all weekend. Chilly too Time for the flannel nightgowns. No sitting out with Tinker either. She scared me last night. I couldn't find her. I looked everyone I have the clean bedspread I'll be putting on the bed laying on the love seat. She was hiding under it. That little monkey. She's been sleeping on it all day.
I'm a dog person & yest they are lots of work, but I would really miss Tinker if she wasn't with me. She is company & lets me know if there are strangers around.
CJ You have a nice day planned. I don't get out much Only when Christina is here & it's always errands.
Jane I can't take Tinker for a walk either. Christina does that for me when she's here.

Another dog comment: This is only my opinion and for my like/dislike/situation. I absolutely love dogs, Kayli was sooo special, kept me company was truly a good dog/companion. But, I will not get another dog. I do not want to be tied down, it feels good to be able to leave the house and not wonder if she's ok. Dh did the training and I wouldn't be nearly as good about it as he was. I am envious of those who do have them and love them. Enjoy them while you have them.

Elle, I don't recall hearing that your precious Kayli crossed rainbow bridge. I'm so sorry. I agree, no more pets ever. Even though I am a total dog person/lover as well.
My friend Jill was in a bad way/mood so I walked over to cheer her up. When I left I had her laughing. That made my whole day. I worry about her when she gets in a mood. At least she lets me know when she is not happy.

Elle I didn't know either that your Kayli passed away I am so sorry to hear this. We do love our precious babies. They are a lot of work but I wouldn't have it any other way. I LOVE DOGS
