A chilly morning. Sun is shining so that is a good thing. Christina called a short while ago Her son is sick now so she's not coming today. Had to cancel my eye Drs. appt. Scheduled for next week now. Not doing anything today. Did my cleaning part over the weekend.

Good Morning....
Sunny and bright out there. Just got back from a walk with DH. Sure got sweaty walking back up the hill. I had enough for a cup of coffee, so went out on the swing to enjoy it and PLOP...a bird pooped on my head. So now I'm inside with my coffee talking to you.
I get a haircut today. I probably could have gone another week, but I had already made the appointment last time.
Icook...sorry Christina wasn't able to take you to your appointment. Hope she can come the next time.
Grammy....did your cleaning gal realize she forgot to come to your house to clean on Saturday?
Yesterday at Costco I got a package of Naan bread. And at TJ Maxx I found a jar of fig jam. I have a recipe for making little pizzas with fig jam, goat cheese, prosciutto and arugula. That will be made tomorrow night for supper. We've had a pizza similar at a restaurant a couple times and it was soooo gooood. I think it had a balsamic glaze drizzled on it too.
Guess I should get to the grocery and see if they have what i need.

Good morning
Cool, a touch on the muggy side, bright sunshine and no breeze. It will be a bit warmer today but not by much. Mandy has been out and back home. The doors and windows are open until it gets too sticky in the house or the temp rises, which really won't be long. I've got a load of laundry going and towels waiting their turn.
This morning Bill told me that one of my ole pool buddies is on her last lap around the sun. She has literally drank herself to death. She has not left her home in over a month, just drinking 24/7. Patricia used to walk miles and miles each and every day, with a drink in her water bottle. After Mark died she came once and awhile to see how I was doing. Until just recently she didn't even have a phone, vehicle, or use a bank. She had no active footprint for years. A very eccentric lady to say the least. Quite a character. So sad.
Yesterday I got out all the sympathy cards that I received. I don't remember reading most of them. So I'm glad that I read them yesterday. Not one of my family sent me a card, text or email. But my bestest friends didn't forget me. Even though I was reading through tears, it was nice seeing all the kind words and shares from friends of ours. I was having a weepy day so what was a few more tears. I still have the cards we received when we lost our home to the fire. I think I'll get them out one day soon too. It's nice to remember what good friends I really have.
Steak with fresh mushrooms for lunch or supper. I have the air fryer OVEN back on the porch and the other air fryer in the kitchen. The oven one I'll use mostly for grilling this winter. I'm so happy that it has a nice grill plate. As the heat goes away I'll begin using my big oven again.....after I dust the inside. hehehe Yesterday I put my big mixer back on the counter, ready for cookie baking. Oh how I miss home made cookies.
IC, do you drive at all? Or are you totally dependent on help? I really can't remember if you have ever said. So sorry that Christina can't help you today. I do hope that her son gets to feeling better soon.

Good morning grannies. where is everyone??? It's a beautiful morning with lots of sunshine and blue skies. A bit chilly with the temp now at 64and only going to the low 70s today. Definitely feels like Fall. I have some Fall decorations out and will add a few more as the days go by. When I get everything done it will be time to take them down and get the Christmas things out!I'm always anxious for the next season. if we could have Christmas then skip right over the rest of it to Springtime
IC sorry to hear that Christina has a sick one to look after today and couldn't get to you. Take it easy today there will always be work waiting to be done.
This is game day, I'll be going there this afternoon. DD will pick me up after that so I can take the birthday girl, Cassandra, who will soon be 9, shopping. This has become Grammy's tradition since Soraya was about 5. They get to pick out the birthday dress or something else. Just no toys! She also wants to go to Red Robin for dinner, that's a hamburger speciality place serving gourmet hamburgers. The will be Grammy's birthday present.
That sounds like a full day for this old grannie!

CJ a bird pooped on your head! I've had that happen...for most people birds sing!
It really wasn't Kathy's fault that she didn't show up to clean Sat.Her mom said get your stuff time to go to the library. Everyone seemed to forget where she was supposed to be! That pizza sounds good and I do hope yours turns out yummy!
Mamma sorry to hear about your friend and what sounds like something that will have a sad ending.
Nice to read the cards later and think about your friends.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's a beautiful day - 66 and sunny. I went downtown for coffee with the gals - one of them called me yesterday and was going to the Farmers Market and could she get anything for me. I had her get me a jar of raspberry jam and some fresh raspberries and a raspberry coffee cake. I have had her jam before, and the fresh ones are really good, but can't say I was overly impressed with the coffee cake. Then she offered to come to my house this morning and drive my car downtown for coffee today, then I could get out at the door and she would park. I thought that was so thoughtful and it worked well. Before I left, I had a call from my stylist that she had a funeral tomorrow, so couldn't cut my hair then, so I could come this afternoon or Thur. I said I will come today, as I had plans for Thur. Then when I was paying my bill, my cell rang and it was one of the Hs friends, and she had a call from another one, the one that's SO had the stroke, that he has covid. Since we were all together on Sunday, (not him) she could have exposed us I guess. SO we cancelled our get together for Thur. - not wanting to expose the one that's DH is an invalid. So lots of changed plans for the week. I do have a funeral that I was not planning to go to when were meeting on Thur. that I should go to and can not that I am free.
IC, sorry you had to change your appointment - hope he isn't too sick.
CJ, what a morning you have had - bet you are ready for a shower after getting all sweaty and then then your visit by the bird! I'm not so sure I would care for your pizza - I never liked fig Newtons.
Mamma, I think I went through the box of cards that I got when DH died at least once a year and reread the verses and messages. It's been awhile now since I have done it, but it will be 22 years in Nov. Sad story about the lady from the pool.
Grammy, another fun shopping trip - it will be fun to see what she picks out. I had never been to a Red Robin until one day when I was at the kids, Jenny & Dawson and I went. He liked the mac & Cheese.

Good afternoon to all. It is warming up here, supposed to be over 85 by late afternoon. But, the humidity is not too bad. I've been out and about this morning, it's 10% discount days for seniors at some of the stores I shop, so I hit some of those looking for little gifts for Christmas, and especially for my pen pal in France. Won't be long before I need to get that package in the mail. I bought beach towels in various patterns on clearance and DMIL has embroidered the names of my pen pal and her family on those for me. I thought they would be good gifts since they have a pool and it would not only not be too heavy, but would be good for packing other things inside as well. Now, just to figure out what those other things will be.
I'm feeling some better as far as my head, but I have a sore on the side of my tongue that is giving me fits. Now, if only it would keep me from eating, but I keep finding a way to do that!
Sorry, CJ, but a little giggle escaped when I read about the bird pooping on your head! Good for you and your DH taking a walk and putting effort into it! Your pizza sounds delicious. Pappo's Pizza here and at home makes a pizza with prosciutto, caramelized onions, an olive oil base on the crust, some cheese (can't remember what kind) and then it is topped with arugula after baked. It is a favorite of mine. Bet I would like yours, too.
IC Cook, hoping Christina's son feels better soon. Glad you could reschedule your appointment.

Grammy, what a special tradition with the great granddaughters you have established! I am certain they look forward to it every year. Let us know what Cassandra chooses. Does Red Robin still have the endless fries?
Jane, your friend was indeed thoughtful. Did she make the jam herself or just pick it up for you at the farmers' market? Did you try warming the coffee cake up a bit? Maybe that will make it more palatable.
I am debating whether or not I will ride my bike or not. I probably will, although I also am thinking about making something with the apples that I picked up in the clearance bin at the grocery store and need to be used. Wishing all a good rest of your day.

Finished my lunch a short while ago & took out the garbage. Eggplant sandwich tonight This will be the last one. Christina always brings the garbage & recycle out for me. Put the bag on my walker to bring it out. Recycle is next. That's not as heavy.
CJ I've had a bird poop on me before. Not pleasant, especially on your head.
I still drive occasionally. I have Christina take me places if possible. Not suppose to be driving right now with the cataracts.

After the wash was done I made a trip to WM to look at pedestal fans. With the nicer weather heading my way, I'll be needing a fan to bring the nicer air inside. The one we had at the "cabin" (that's what I call the little place we had to live after the fire) just doesn't cut it in this bigger home. There were so few fans left to choose from and they were so over priced, IMO. What I wanted was way more money than I cared to spend. So I got the one I really didn't care for. But once I got it put together it isn't too bad. We lost such nice fans in the fire. The crud they make now days aren't worth a plug nickel. All are made so very cheaply. The one we have from the cabin works ok, but doesn't really pull any air, it just moves the air. I put it by the vent in this room so the air from the vent can get into the room.
The laundry is all done as is my lunch. The stuff on the lines are ready to come in and get put away. Not sure what I'll do next.
CJ, sorry your day started out kind of "crappy". Naughty birds dumping on such a nice person.
Yes, indeed GRAMMY, that is a full day. The grammy tradition is something they will never forget. How very special. I guess I should pull out my spring flowers from the flower pots and replace them with something more fall like. Or wait a bit and plant "real" flowers.
Jane, you have the most amazing friends. But then you are an amazing friend too.
Debbie, I vote to make something with the apples.

Good cloudy late afternoon, we're supposed to be getting some rain in a few minutes. Not a lot going on, prayer meeting this a.m. and DD#3 came this afternoon and helped me with the new phone. I wanted some personal ringtones set and a couple of other things. I got the new screen protector and case protector via Amazon while she was here so that's done. Tomorrow is coffee..
ICOOK Sorry about Christina's son and hope he has a speedy recovery. Is this a routine checkup with the eye doctor?
CJ "giggle-giggle." Sorry about that! I had that happen to me many years ago. Thank God for water, shampoo and showers.
MAMMA I'm so sorry about your friend. Choices are so important for us. I didn't go through DH's card, funeral book or anything until he had been gone a year. The girls came and we went through them together. I go through them occasionally now. It sounds like you're enjoying your weather...I like ours except it's been cool in the house and I don't want to start the furnace. It's supposed to be near 80 tomorrow.
GRAMMY No fall decorations out here yet either. I'll wait until next month probably. I still have 2 female hummingbirds. I know it won't be long and she'll leave too.
GREENBACK I applaud you for the effort you make in getting out and about. And you have so many great people in your life that help you! I know I need to get out too or life is just too lonely.
DEBBIE How long does it take for the packages to get to your friend. I know when I was making purses, if the material was from China...well you've heard about the slow boat from China, right? LOL
