 Good Morning....
I'm back. We had a really nice time, even if it was short. The weather turned out good despite the rainy forecast. Only rain was on our drive up on Monday. Watched lots of cool freighters go through the locks. And lots of time spent rock hunting on the shores of Lake Superior. We had some really good whitefish dinners. We stopped, on our way home, in Mackinac City to view the bridge...which is always an awesome sight.
The weather is very fallish out there. I'm ready for sweatshirt time. It should warm up to around 70 today.

Oh what a beautiful morning......
It was 71º when I got up at 6:30. All the doors and windows are open and it feels wonderful. It's still suppose to hit 102º today so the house will be closed up before too long, but for now I'm loving it.
Since Mandy fell off the end of the bed yesterday morning I decided to put things back the way they were, I don't want to take a chance on her falling again and really getting hurt. She goes to the groomer today so I'll change things then and also wash her blankies while she is done. Right not I've got some clothes in the washer. When all that is done I'll wash the washing machine. It's about time for that. I forgot to do that last month. I need to do the same for the dishwasher. Annievac needs to tackle the floors again. How they got so full of grit is beyond me. But bare feet don't like stepping on it. So today will be busy.
Yesterday I kept busy so I wouldn't fall asleep in my chair, and sleep at night. Well that didn't work. I slept horribly again last night. I hate when I go through these phases. Tonight I'll see about staying up later. No, then I won't be able to get up early enough for Mandy or be tired all day. It's a no win situation. Oh well.
CJ, I would like to see that amazing bridge but no way would I want to be on it for any reason. I have a real hatred or fear of bridges no matter how large or small. I close my eyes when we drive on them and cringe the whole way. hehehe I'm so glad that the weather turned out to be so nice for you and that you had a good time. Welcome Home!!!!

It was a cool morning, 46* when I got up. Next week we might hit the low 80's again. I went out for breakfast with a friend this a.m. This afternoon is game day. So no cleaning until tomorrow and then finish it up on Saturday. Laundry will get done then too. I do enjoy the cool mornings and evenings. If Justme would see this, I will say I bet she has the countdown to Christmas!! LOL
CJ Welcome back. I've been across the Mackinac bridge about 3 times. And it's scary to me but quite an experience. Did you find some special rocks? I bet the DGC will be happy to see you too.
CINDY Don't you just love the nice greeting to the day when it's calm and comfortable! How long will Mandy be at the groomers. It usually took about 2 hours for Kayli. I hope you sleep better tonight. I hate nights like that.

I'm here just in time to say good morning Grannies! It's a chill morning but some beautiful sunshine I hope to get outside for a little while. The weeds keep trying to take over. DGD was doing some weeding in the flowers, yesterday, when she pulled at a clump of grass she got a cut on her finger. Off to the ER and had to have 2 stitches to put her back together. She is working today but I don't know how she can do massage with the finger on her finger bandaged! Gardening can be dangerous! I'll be sure to wear gloves even if I don't like them.
CJ sounds like you had a nice early Fall get away! So glad you had good weather to watch all the big ships!
Mamma enjoy the nice morning sounds like the afternoon might be a hot one! Mandy will come home looking and smelling so nice. For many years my BF had a dog grooming business.
Ellie breakfast with a friend is a good start for any day/
Lunch time and I need to head upstairs to find some.

I love going over the bridge. There was construction on the middle lanes, so we were on the outside lane, where I can see over easily. It's a beautiful bridge and I've been over many times. I know some people don't like bridges and that's okay...but it is truely a remarkable adventure. Yes, we found many good rocks..at least to me...and that's all that matters if I like them..LOL DH always has certain kinds he is looking for.
The kitties were good while we were gone. They are just fine for a couple days without someone coming in. We just leave a couple big bowls of water and hard food. They only left one little surprise which I was glad it wasn't more. One cat seems to eat too fast sometimes. LOL
DD has been in Washington DC for a few days. DSIL did well with the kids. Sounds like he enjoyed being alone with them. He's a really good dad. DD's work had a big reception/party for the employees that have been working on a big project that they just finished after a few years. Everything paid for by the company and she said the hotel was really awesome (really fancy). She was excited to meet face to face with some of the people on her team that she's only talked to on the phone. Her team is scattered around the country (from the DC office and San Antonio office). She's the leader of her team, so this was exciting for her.
We'll have the kids tomorrow. Always fun with them.
Mamma...enjoy those cooler mornings.
Elle...enjoy game day.
Grammy...the weeds have taken over all my flower beds. Always hate seeing everything turning brown. I have my nice colorful mums out to brighten things up for a while.

Good Morning Ladies - - - I had better hurry too, as morning is slipping away - - - Its a chilly 65 but it's sunny, so hope it will be warmers this afternoon. I should try and do a little porch time. Not much happening here today - just another day!
CJ, what a wonderful get away - sounds like a perfect time to me. I have always wanted to go to MI, but don't see it happening now. I have gotten as far as the picture rocks, and enjoyed that boat tour, otherwise, it has been on the upper part of the UP that I have been a few different times. I have never been to lower Mich. though/
Mamma, don't you ever wonder if Mandy looks forward to her spa days as much as we look forward to a new cut and do? Hope you are enjoying your nice fresh morning air.
Ellie, your day sounds like what I call a good day - lots of friend time and conversation! I love a day with people! I miss Wanda and her Christmas countdown. I hope Jordan is doing well too.
Grammy, that must have been some weed to cut deep enough to get stiches - - So, yes, I do believe gloves would be a good choice.
I just had a call from one of my HS friends - - she said there will be 22 classmates coming Sunday, and 31 with spouses. Considering how many have passed away, that is a pretty good turn out.

Both loads of laundry are done, Annie got the floors clean, and Mandy is at the groomers.
Jane, I really don't think Mandy likes going to the groomer. Buddy is the one that loved going and would get so excited that he pulled me to the groomers door. Mandy, I have to either drag inside or carry her in. I'm sure she does feels good when it's all done.
Grammy you must have some really sharp, tough weeds that grow in your garden. Ouch!!! Yep, I think you should wear gloves to.
CJ, good to hear that the kitties didn't leave more than one "gift" for you. Mark loved driving in the mountains and on bridges. Not me, I closed my eyes and prayed I could get off and out safely. I missed a lot of beautiful scenery.
Jill just brought over some goodies that she doesn't plan on using. She is trying to stay away from pasta. I was happy to have it. Also some wild rice mix, mmmmm.
Now I better get back to work. Annie can't get into some places.

Good afternoon to all. It is a beauty of a day here at the apartment in Illinois. In fact, it was a bit chilly when I started my early morning walk. I have been out to get a mani and a pedi this morning and came back and cleaned both bathrooms and vacuumed the floors. Supper will be a pizza made with ready-made flatbread crusts I got on clearance yesterday and I'll use spaghetti sauce for the sauce and top it with meatballs, green pepper strips and red onion--and, of course, cheese. I still have some of the homemade cosmic brownie cookies for dessert.
We finally got word back on Mike's blood work and his numbers are trending much better and we are very thankful for that. I also already have word that yesterday's mammogram was good and that is always a relief. I went home in time for Drew's Tuesday night middle school basketball game and then had my appointment with the mammogram machine and the gynecologist at 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., respectively. Went back home after treating myself (and DD#2) to a pastry and coffee near where she works and then went back home for a while and got the house decorated for fall (as much as I plan to do this year) and had a bite of lunch before heading back up here.
Mike says he has about three more weeks here and then we should be able to go home. He is glad of that as he wants to get some things done before he has to recover from surgery.
Elle, in Justme's honor, I'll report that I have been doing some Christmas shopping already. I have several things for my package to my pen pal in France and I have picked up several odds and ends to make up a bag of gifts for the DGC. Again this year, we are hosting the family at a condo in Branson rather than doing big gifts. I am getting a bit nervous about the condo we rented as it is in a new complex and their website promised an indoor pool by fall of this year, but, at this time, it is not on track to be finished until "late this year." I do have the option to cancel and there are other places I can still rent, but they are significantly more expensive!
CJ, your getaway sounds ideal. I would love to have you as my Michigan tour guide. Your state is on my bucket list to visit--soon! Congratulations to your DD o her own and her team's success!
Mama, you got some good food from your friend.
Time to make myself ride my bike for a bit. Wishing all a great rest of your day.
Grammy, I agree with the others, that must have been a nasty weed that your DGD got ahold of! Ouch!

It's been a busy day Christina was here After my Meals On Wheels arrived we left to go to the grocery store. They had boneless chicken breasts & London Broil on sale so I got both Got some other specials too. I wanted to get a big bottle of Dawn dish detergent that was on special. They were totally out. Got back home with just enough time for Christina to wet mop the floors.
CJ You had an enjoyable mini vacation.
Mamma My AC is off & doors & windows open Tinker loves looking outside & go on the back porch. I have nights when I can't fall asleep.

It is chilly here also.
I have seen pictures of the mackinaw bridge.
So beautiful.
I have been on the 7 mile bridge on way to Key
West
And the skyline bridge in Tampa is pretty.
