Today is a day we will never forget. I turned the TV on that morning just as the second plane hit the towers. I watched the coverage all day.
Tinker got me up at 8 again this morning. I wasn't ready to get up yet. A little cleaning to finish today Still didn't make the zucchini batter.

Good morning grannies, it's a beautiful sunshine morning with a chill Fall like temp of 53! Temp will be going to the mid 70s this afternoon.
IC I think most of us will always remember the news from a couple of things. Wathching the planes hit the towers and the aftermath of that will always be with us. The other moment will be the memory of the moment of the JFK assassination. These moments will always be with many of us.
Nothing much happening around here. No hummers this morning it's time for them to pack up and head out I will only see a few over the next week or so.
The med I was taking for the UTI is done! It was causing me to feel nauseous much of the time but it did make me well again! I need to get outside and do a little weed whacking around the patio where the lawn mower doesn't go then do a little weeding. I wonder how much of that I will get done??

Good morning. Mandy has been out and I am on my second cup of coffee. It's just a touch muggy, but not too bad. Cooler today but still too warm. Now the nights will start to get much cooler and that will mean the mornings will be cooler. Maybe tomorrow morning I can get the porch cleaned enough to sit outside and have my coffee. Right now it's way too dirty.
I've got a few things on my to do list and I really hope that I get them accomplished. Lately I've done too much sitting and not enough moving around. Even my butt is getting sore. hehehe Yesterday I told Jill I just didn't feel like going to the health food store. It was too hot to go anywhere, IMO. And I just didn't want to go. My chair needs a good vacuuming and so does the rug in front of the door. The rug is full of shrapnel from Mandys treats. She always goes to that rug to eat her treats. Well no more crunchy treats. She is not like Buddy who would like the pile off of the rugs to make sure he got every crumb.
Enjoy your day.

Good sunny, fall feeling Monday morning. It was in the low 50's this a.m. and supposed to be in the mid 70's. Nice fall weather. The only plans I have for today is go to the grocery store to get supplies to make cherry delight. A church member died and her funeral is Wednesday. DD and I will go to her viewing tomorrow evening. Tomorrow is also prayer meeting. DD came last night and we ate supper together. She brought her own and I had chicken salad and cucumbers. I'm going to miss the fresh produce!
IC Tinkers schedule seems to be changing. She just wants more time with you. LOL I was in my car on my way to see dad, in the nursing home, and mom, in her own home when I hear 911 on my car radio. I didn't realize the impact of it until I got home and turned the TV on. That terrible day changed our country and lives!/font]
GRAMMY It's good you aren't nauseated from the pills now. I say it feels good to feel good. Be careful weed whacking!!
MAMMA Aren't dogs so different! We had 2 poms and they were as different as night and day. One was feisty and the other one was just so gentle and easy going. I think we're all enjoying the fall weather. Take care of your arms today!!!

This morning I made my UPS run with a return, stopped at the $Tree for some baby powder and a candy dish. On the way home I decided to check out the sales at Frys. Woohoo, my favorite supper will be on the table tonight. Crab legs are on sale for $7.99 a pound so I picked up three pounds. Two meals for me. I'm so happy I saw the add this morning. That is one heck of a savings and a big win for mamma. I can hardly wait for supper now.

Good Morning Ladies - - - It's afternoon and still just 67! It's just a little to chilly to my liking, even after all of the heat. Good thing I put capri's on today. Nothing new here - My friend came down to chat for awhile yesterday, and then I used up the last of the chicken tenders I had out and made it again stir frying the cubed chicken and broccoli. I thought it was very taste again. My neighbor has been here with the mail and he is gone fishing so visited a little longer today.. Tomorrow I want to go to a funeral with an older lady from church and then have a dental appt. in West Union. At first I thought I couldn't do both, but I deceided that I should be able too. The funerals seldom last an hour and it shouldn't take me an hour to get there either, so I guess I will go for it. I can sit at the funeral so that I could leave the church before the family, without making it noticeable. IC, yes, I think we all know where we were when 911 happened. I was walking behind the teller windows picking up the daily work to run through the proof machine. Grammy, and I agree with you too about JFK - I was working at a cafe at that time and was making a malt! Guessing it was chocolate, but don't remember that for sure. Good to hear that the med is gone now and hope it makes you feel so much better without having to take it. Cindy, no fun having to go somewhere you really don't want to go to, especially when it is so hot and uncomfortable. Enjoy your crab - still too pricy for me to enjoy, even though I like it, there are many more things I like more. Ellie, nice that DD came over to eat with you - nice of her to bring her own meal. Your cherry delight will be a winner at the funeral. It always just looks so refreshing. I won't stay for the meal tomorrow.

I'm almost done getting the zucchini batter made, but I needed a few minutes of a SSD. I had an appt. scheduled with the nurse practitioner for this Thursday It's cancelled till November. Couldn't schedule me anymore for this month The days she had opened I have another Drs. appt.
Elle Fall weather coming here starting Thursday. My AC is still on. Tomorrow night lots of rain. A lot of showers here the past few days.
Grammy I was in school when Kennedy got shot They put it on the loud speaker. I will always remember that day too.
Mamma I have a rug at the front door Tinker is always rubbing her face on it. I love crab. Legs are a lot of work to get to the meat, so I don't eat them

Good afternoon to all. We are back in IL after a busy couple of days. It is cloudy here and, according to my phone--which you can't always believe--there is rain at home. That is good because I put down nearly two jugs of Preen in my flower beds early this morning before we left home. A nice rain would help activate it.
We got to see Emmett play football in Pacific, MO, on Saturday, (they won 38-7!), had lunch with them, made several stops in Jefferson City (including a long one at the grand opening of a newly re-named farm and home store) and got home about 5:00. It was nice to have all day Sunday at home and Mike got a wall lamp that I got from my mom's apartment put up over the head of our bed for me and, for the first time since we've lived there, I can see to read in bed! Got some Velcro stripping to put a couple of things up on my cabinets in the kitchen without having to drive nails in my new cabinets and Mike tried out his new weedeater and I just generally puttered--got some things put away in my cedar chest and did some odds and ends that needed doing. We grilled steaks for supper and I made instant mashed potatoes and had some green beans with thoTose as well as biscuits we had left over from our fried chicken lunch with DMIL after church.
This morning we got up pretty early and I preened the flower beds and Mike got things buttoned up around the house and we drove to Columbia, MO, for him to have bloodwork drawn for a re-check from two weeks ago. He didn't feel very well again Saturday night after we'd gotten in and had supper and worried me again, but it was much more a stomach issue than anything else. After his blood draw, we got gas and headed back here to IL. We stopped for lunch and got back here about 1:30. Mike dropped me off, got his hard hat and work boots and took off to report for work and also to renew his rental truck, which we took home and brought back, at Enterprise. I ran to make a return at Academy Sports, picked up some bananas and a couple of other things and came back here to figure out what to make for supper. I currently have an iron skillet of corn bread in the oven along with a sheet pan of various colored pepper strips, onion chunks, corn on the cob halves, little potatoes and polish sausage. Hope it turns out good, it is smelling good! I had hoped to take a walk before Mike gets home, since I didn't do it at home this morning, but by the time I got supper ready for the oven, unloaded the dishwasher here, folded a load of towels I had left drying when we left on Saturday morning, and made Mike's lunch, it was time to get supper in the oven and the veggies, etc., will need periodic stirring as well as I need to watch the cornbread, so here I am. Walking will just have to wait until tomorrow morning.
Then, after tomorrow morning's walk and some breakfast, I am taking my car and heading back to Missouri for Drew's first basketball game and then, on Wednesday, I have my appointment for my annual gynecology check. I am always glad when that and my mammogram are done for the year.
I was 5 years old when Kennedy was shot and was at home playing in the living room floor with the TV on in the background when my Mom, who had been cleaning in another room of the house, came running in and turned the TV up and started crying and told me to bow my head and pray! I was at work on 9/11 and my dad called me to see if I had heard. I told my boss, the president, who had a TV in his office and we turned it on in time to see the second tower get hit. We watched it pretty much the rest of the day, all while calling our family to check in on every one. Meghan was a senior that year and, during her valedictorian speech, she mentioned that she and her fellow class members felt like they grew up faster after that day and talked about the somber tone at the school as the history teacher brought out a TV and set it up for all of them to watch history being made, albeit not in a good way. Jessica was in college in Warrensburg, MO, which is very close to Whiteman AFB and they gathered in the commons to commiserate together and to pray and sing patriotic songs and hymns. Many of her fellow classmates were service members and her class size diminished significantly after that day.
I had better go check on the cornbread. Thinking about opening the patio door and the windows, but Mike will find it too noisy here in the apartment complex to sleep if I do that.
Wishing all a wonderful evening.
